உலகம் முழுவதும் கூகுள், ஃபேஸ்புக், இன்ஸ்டாகிராம் உள்ளிட்ட பல்வேறு சமூக ஊடகங்களின் 160 கோடி கணக்குகளின் ‘கடவுச்சொல்’ கசிந்துள்ளதாக கூறப்படும் நிலையில் தங்கள் இணையக் கணக்குளின் கடவுச்சொல்லை பயனாளா்கள் விரைவாக மாற்றுமாறு இணைய நிபுணா்கள் அறிவுறுத்தியுள்ளனா்.

மேலும், கசிந்துள்ள முக்கியத் தகவல்களை சைபா் குற்றவாளிகள் பல்வேறு குற்றங்களுக்கு பயன்படுத்த வாய்ப்புள்ளதாகவும் அவா்கள் எச்சரித்துள்ளனா்.

ஐரோப்பியாவைச் சோ்ந்த ‘சைபா்நியூஸ்’ ஆய்வாளா்கள் அண்மையில் இணைய தரவுகளின் பாதுகாப்பு குறித்த அறிக்கையை சமா்ப்பித்தனா்.

அதில், ‘30 தரவுதளங்களில் இருந்து கூகுள், ஃபேஸ்புக், இன்ஸ்டாகிராம், மின்னஞ்சல் முகவரி என உலகளவில் 160 கோடி இணையக் கணக்குகளின் கடவுச்சொல் உள்ளிட்ட முக்கியத் தகவல்கள் கசிந்துள்ளது கண்டறியப்பட்டுள்ளது. தற்காலத்தில் ஒருவரே பல சமூக வலைதள கணக்குகளை பயன்படுத்துவதால் ஒருவரின் தனிப்பட்ட விவரங்கள் பெருமளவில் கசிந்திருக்க வாய்ப்புள்ளது. இதை சைபா் குற்றவாளிகள் தங்களுக்கு ஏற்றவாறு பயன்படுத்தக்கூடும் என்பதால் இணையவாசிகள் முதலில் தங்கள் கடவுச்சொல்லை மாற்ற அறிவுறுத்தப்படுகிறது.

CHENNAI: The government will redeploy 1,300 of the 3,500 employees of Annamalai University, who are found to be in excess to the current demand at the university, to other state universities or departments. According to sources, only 80 out of this 1300 are teaching staff and the remaining are non-teaching staff.

Higher education secretary C Samayamoorthy has directed the registrars of other universities, functioning under the department, to furnish details regarding requirements of non-teaching staff. The teaching staff will be redeployed in the new 15 government arts and science colleges opened this year.

This is not the first time that staff from Annamalai are redeployed to other institutions. Higher education officials shared that when the state government took control of the varsity in 2013, the university was struggling to manage its finances as it was heavily overstaffed. In a phased manner, around 1,800 teaching faculty and 2,900 non-teaching staff have been sent to other institutions on deputation.

As per the data submitted by the university to NIRF in 2025, the varsity has 1,183 regular teaching faculty.

Higher education officials said that redeployment of staff is need of the hour as, despite getting the maximum amount of grant, Annamalai is exhausting all its finances towards salary payment. “Only the junior teaching staff will be redeployed to other institutions,” Samayamoorthy told TNIE.

The budget documents of the higher education department revealed that in the financial year 2023-24, the varsity was allocated Rs 553.53 crore as grant, while in 2024-25 the grant was increased to Rs 565 crore (revised estimate). Though it has been reduced to Rs 450 crore (budget estimate) in 2025-26, the university still accounted for the lion’s share (33%) of Rs 1,353.08 crore earmarked by the department for financial assistance to state universities.

Officials of other state universities have lamented that the huge financial grant provided to Annamalai University is unfair. “To fulfill the needs of Annamalai University, other state universities are paying the price,” said a professor from the University of Madras citing that his varsity received only Rs 52 crore in this year’s budget allocation.

Expressing concern over the issue, noted academician SP Thyagarajan said the state government needs to chalk out a policy. “The situation is really worrying. While one university is functioning with 30% of its sanctioned staff, the other one has surplus staff. The state government needs to streamline things and come out with a policy to support the salary component in state universities. Along with it, the state government should provide additional funds to the universities to grow based on their performance,” said Thyagarajan.

The university, founded in 1929, was taken over by the state government in 2013 after it was marred with allegations of corruption.

THE HINDU BUREAU CHENNAI The Madras High Court has heavily criticised the Regional Passport Office in Chennai for insisting that a woman, who had applied for a passport, obtain her husband’s signature in Form J.

It has said women cannot be treated as chattels belonging to their husbands.

Justice N. Anand Venkatesh expressed shock over a writ petition filed by a woman, who said the Chennai RPO was not processing her application without the signature of her estranged husband, who had filed a divorce case against her before a local court.

Stating that the writ petitioner’s application should have been considered independently, the judge held that “it is not necessary for a wife to get the permission of her husband and take his signature before applying for a passport”.

“This insistence made by the second respondent [the Chennai RPO] shows the mindset of society in treating women who are married as if they are chattels belonging to their husbands. It is quite shocking that the passport office is insisting on the permission of the husband and his signature in a particular form in order to process the application submitted by the petitioner for passport,” he added.

Observing that it would be virtually impossible for the petitioner to obtain her husband’s signature in view of the strained relationship between them, the judge said the petitioner could not be considered to have lost her individuality immediately after marriage.

“The practice of insisting on permission from the husband to apply for passport does not augur well for a society moving towards woman emancipation. This practice is nothing short of male supremacism,” the judge said, directing the RPO to process the petitioner’s application without her husband’s signature.

குடும்பத்தினருடன் அண்மையில் வெளி மாவட்டத்துக்கு சென்ற போது இணைய இடா்ப்பாடு ஏற்பட்டு ’கூகுள் மேப்’ கைவிட்ட நிலையில், வாகனத்தை நிறுத்தி வழி கேட்டோம். ஒரு நபா் நம்பிக்கையுடன் நம்மிடம் பேசி, தீா்மானமாக ஒரு திசையை சுட்டி வழி காட்டினாா். அவா் காட்டிய பாதையில் சென்று கொண்டிருந்தபோது மாற்றுப் பாதையில் வந்து விட்டோமோ என்ற சந்தேகம் எழுந்தது.

அதன் பிறகு, மற்றொரு நபரிடம் வழி கேட்டோம். முதல் நபா் சொன்ன பாதைக்கு நோ்மாறான எதிா்பாதையில் செல்லுமாறு அவா் வழிகாட்டினாா். முதல் நபா் அத்தனை தீா்மானமாகச் சொன்னாரே, தற்போது யாா் காட்டிய திசையில் செல்வது என்று உள்ளுக்குள் பெரும் குழப்பம். மூன்றாவது நபா் ஒருவரிடம் கேட்டுப் பாா்ப்போம் என்று அவரிடம் விசாரித்ததில் இரண்டாம் நபா் சொன்ன பாதையை அவா் வழிமொழிய அந்தப் பாதையை தோ்ந்தெடுத்து பயணத்தைத் தொடா்ந்தோம்.

முதல் நபா் தவறாக வழிகாட்டியதால் நேரம் வீணாகி விட்டதே என்று கவலை கொண்டாலும் தனக்கு நூறு சதவீதம் உறுதியாக தெரியாத ஒரு தகவலை, அவா் ஏன் அத்தனை தீா்மானமாக இருந்து வழி சொன்னாா் என்ற கேள்வி நீண்ட நேரம் மனதைக் குடைந்தது.

ஒரு தவறான தகவல் எத்தனை வகையான அசௌகா்யங்களை ஏற்படுத்தி விடுகின்றன! ஒரு மனிதா் மீது நம்பிக்கை ஏற்பட்டு அவா் பகிா்ந்தவை உண்மையாகத்தான் இருக்கும் என்று நம் மனம் நம்பியதே பொய்த்துப் போகும் சூழ்நிலையில், யாா் சொன்னது, எவா் சொன்னது என்று சிறிதளவும் தெரியாத ஒரு தகவலை எந்த நம்பிக்கையின் அடிப்படையில் நாம் பலருக்கும் அனுப்பிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறோம் என்ற எண்ணம் வலிமையாகத் தோன்றியது.

சமூக வலைதளங்கள் நம் வாழ்வில் பெரும் பங்கு வகித்துவிட்ட இந்த நவீன யுகத்தில், நம்மைத் தொடா்புகொள்ள, தகவல்களைப் பகிர, செய்திகளைத் தெரிந்துகொள்ள எனப் பல்வேறு தேவைகளை அவை பூா்த்தி செய்கின்றன; எனினும், ஏராளமான தவறான தகவல்களும் கட்டுக்கதைகளான செய்திகளும் வலம் வருகின்றன. சுமாா் 70 சதவீதம் அளவுக்கு தவறான தகவல்களை பலரும் பகிா்ந்து வருகின்றனா். தங்களுக்கு வந்துசேரும் ஒரு தகவல் உண்மையா, பொய்யா எனத் தெரியாமல் பலரும் தொடா்ந்து பகிா்கின்றனா். அதனால் சில நேரங்களில் நம் மீது இருக்கும் நம்பகத்தன்மைகூட கேள்விக்குறியாகும் நிலை ஏற்படுகிறது. நாம் இப்படி பொதுவெளியில் பகிரும் நம்பகமற்ற தகவல்களினால் மறைமுகமாக சில பிரச்னைகள் முளைக்கின்றன என்பதை எத்தனை போ் உணா்ந்துள்ளனா்?

தவறான தகவல்களால் அப்படி என்ன பாதகமான நிலை வந்துவிடப் போகிறது? படித்து விட்டு கடந்து சென்றுவிட வேண்டியது தானே என சிலா் எண்ணக்கூடும். தவறான செய்திகளையும் தகவல்களையும் அவ்வளவு எளிதில் படித்து விட்டு கடந்து சென்றுவிட முடியுமா என எனக்கு நானே கேட்டுக் கொண்டேன். தவறான செய்தியோ, தகவலோ அதன் பொருள் அடா்த்தி, தன்மையைப் பொருத்து தனி மனிதனின் வாழ்வில் எதிா்மறை விளைவுகளை ஏற்படுத்தும் வல்லமை பெறுகின்றன.

பொதுவாகவே தவறான தகவல்கள், போலிச் செய்திகள் வேகமாகப் பரவும் தன்மையுடையவை. சமூக ஊடகங்கள் இந்தச் சூழலை இன்னும் இரட்டிப்பாக்குகின்றன. அசலைக் காட்டிலும் போலிக்கு வலிமை அதிகம். இப்படிப்பட்ட தவறான தகவல்கள் மனதில் இனம் புரியாத ஒரு எதிா்மறைத் தாக்கத்தை ஏற்படுத்துகின்றன. இதனால் முதலில் பாதிக்கப்படுவது மன நலன்தான். தொடா்ந்து தவறான செய்திகளைப் பாா்க்கும்போது மன அழுத்தம் கூடிவிடும். சில தவறான தகவல்கள் அதிா்ச்சி அளிக்கக் கூடியவையாகக்கூட இருக்கும்.

சில ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன் பத்து ரூபாய் நாணயங்கள் செல்லாது என கைப்பேசி மூலம் பரவிய தவறான தகவலால் பல ஊா்களில் வணிகா்கள் பத்து ரூபாய் நாணய கொடுக்கல்-வாங்கலைப் புறக்கணித்தனா். இதையடுத்து பத்து ரூபாய் நாணயங்கள் செல்லும் என ஊடகங்கள் பல முறை செய்தியை வெளியிட்டாலும், அது அனைத்துத் தரப்பு மக்களுக்கும் சரிவர சென்று சேரவில்லை. கடந்த காலங்களில் இதுபோல பல பிரச்னைகளை நாம் எதிா்கொண்டிருக்கிறோம். இதே வடிவில் எண்ணற்ற தவறான தகவல்கள் காலத்துக்கு ஏற்ப நம் அறிதிறன்பேசியில் சுழன்றுகொண்டே இருக்கின்றன.

இது போன்ற தவறான தகவல்கள் தனி மனிதனைத் தாண்டி சமுதாயத்தை பாதிக்கக் கூடியவையாக உள்ளன. தனிப்பட்ட நபா்களைத் தாண்டி அரசியல், வணிகம், திரைப்படம் என அதன் கைகள் நீளும்போது அவற்றில் தெறிக்கும் தனிமனித வன்மம் ஆபத்தானதாக இருக்கிறது. பொய்யை ஆணித்தரமாகக் கூறி, உண்மை போன்று பலரையும் நம்ப வைக்கின்றனா். மேலும், வணிக ரீதியில் லாபம் பாா்க்க இன்னொருவா் மீது வீண் அவதூறுகளைப் பரப்புகின்றனா். இப்படி திரைத்துறைக்கு அண்மைக்காலத்தில் ஏற்பட்டுள்ள புதிய தலைவலி யு - டியூபா்களின் பொது விமா்சனம். இது தற்போது தீவிரமான பொது விவாதத்தின் பேசுபொருளாகியுள்ளது.

ஒரு பொருளின் பெருமையை பிரபலத்தைக் கொண்டு கூறி விளம்பரம் செய்வது வழக்கமாக உள்ளது. சில விளம்பரங்களில், ‘நீங்கள் வாங்கும் இந்தப் பொருளால் எங்கோ இருக்கும் ஒரு குழந்தைக்கு உணவு கிடைக்கும்; பல அநாதைப் பிள்ளைகள் பயன் பெறுவா் எனக் கூறி பொருளை விற்க முனைகின்றனா். அந்த நிறுவனம் உண்மையிலேயே அப்படி ஆதரவற்ற குழந்தைகளுக்கு லாபத்தில் உதவி செய்கிறாா்களா என்று யாா் சரி பாா்ப்பது? காலந்தோறும் இப்படிச் சொல்லி வந்தாலும் அவா்கள் சென்று ஆதரவற்றோருக்கு உதவி செய்வது போன்ற ஒரு

செய்தியை இதுவரை பாா்க்க முடியவில்லை. இப்படி நம்பகத்தன்மையற்ற, வீண் பழி சுமத்துகிற, தேவையற்ற செய்திகள் நமக்கு வந்து சோ்ந்தால்கூடப் பரவாயில்லை. அடுத்தவருக்கு சேரும்படி நாம் பகிா்வது வதந்தியைப் பரப்புவதற்கு சமம்.

சமூக ஊடகங்கள் கால் முளைக்காத காலத்தில்கூட வதந்திகள் வேகமாகப் பரவின. பிள்ளையாா் பால் குடித்தாா்; பிரபலமான கோயில் ஒன்றில் அமங்கலம் நடந்துவிட்டதால் பெண்கள் எல்லோரும் தாலி மாற்றிக்கொள்ள வேண்டும்; வீட்டில் எத்தனை ஆண் பிள்ளைகள் இருக்கிறாா்களோ வாயிலில் அத்தனை விளக்கேற்ற வேண்டும் என வதந்திகள் பெரும்பாலும் நம்பிக்கை சாா்ந்ததாக இருந்தன. அப்போது அதைக் கூறியவா்கள் நம் உறவினா் அல்லது நமக்கு நெருக்கமானவா்களாக இருந்தனா்; இப்போது அப்படி இல்லை. யாரோ எவரோ ஒரு குழுவில் பதிவிடும் காணொலியை எந்த முன்முடிவும் இல்லாது பாா்க்கும்போது நம் சிந்தனை அதை நோக்கிச் செல்கிறது.

எதிா்மறை செய்தியாக இருக்கும் நிலையில், நம் உணா்வுகள் எளிதில் தூண்டப்படுகின்றன. தகவல் எப்படிப்பட்டதோ அந்த அளவு அன்றாட வாழ்வியலில் உடலளவிலும் மனதளவிலும் அது தாக்கத்தை ஏற்படுத்தும். மனித மனம் உண்மைகளை ஏற்றுக் கொள்வதற்குப் பதிலாக இவ்வாறான போலி கோட்பாடுகளை நம்ப விரும்புகிறாா்கள் என்கின்றனா் உளவியலாளா்கள். பரபரப்பான செய்திகளை அறிவதில் மக்களுக்கு உள்ள ஆா்வ மனநிலையை நாம் தொடா்ந்து பாா்க்கிறோம்.

தற்போது எண்ணற்ற காணொலிகள் காரணமாக தவறான தகவல்கள் தொடா்ந்து பரப்பப்படுகின்றன. தவறான தகவல்கள் நமக்குள் பதிவாகி நம் எண்ணங்கள் வெவ்வேறு வடிவம் பெறுவதற்கான வாய்ப்பு உள்ளது. ஒரு சம்பவம் எங்கே நிகழ்ந்தது, எப்படி நிகழ்ந்தது, யாரால் நிகழ்ந்தது என்ற விவரங்கள் ஏதும் இல்லாமல் பல காணொலிகள் நம் அறிதிறன்பேசியில் (ஸ்மாா்ட் போன்) உலா வருகின்றன; அறிதிறன்பேசியில் இடம்பெற்ற உடனேயே ஆா்வம் காரணமாக பெரும்பாலானோா் அதைப் பாா்த்து நேரத்தை விரயமாக்கிக் கொண்டிருக்கின்றனா். மிகவும் பழைய-தவறான தகவல் காணொலிையை மீண்டும் இடம்பெறச் செய்து, அது பழைமையானது என நண்பா்கள் விளக்கம் அளிப்பதும் நடைபெறுகிறது.

எனவே, எப்பொருள் யாா்யாா் வாய்க் கேட்பினும் அப்பொருள் மெய்ப்பொருள் காண்பது அறிவு என்பதைக் கருத்தில் கொள்வோருக்கு எது குறித்தும் எந்தச் சலனமும் ஏற்படாது.

Ahmedabad : Among the four hostel students who lost their lives in the tragic crash of Air India flight AI 171 was 21-year-old Rakesh Diyora , a second-year MBBS student from a village near Talaja in Bhavnagar district. Diyora had returned to the medical students’ hostel on June 11 hoping to prepare for his upcoming June 16 examination — a test he would now never take. 

Diyora was having lunch with friends in the hostel mess when the tail section of the ill-fated aircraft came crashing down on the premises. The mess area, where several students had gathered, bore the brunt of the impact. Diyora’s brother-in-law, Alpesh Chauhan, who lives in Ahmedabad, recounted with anguish the final moments they shared. 

“Rakesh had been staying at our house for the past few days. On Wednesday, he told us he needed to return to the hostel to collect his books and start preparing for his exams. We never imagined that would be the last time we would see him.” Chauhan said panic set in when news of the crash broke. “I kept calling him, but there was no response. 

We hoped for the best but feared the worst. And then his name appeared on the list of victims.” Diyora’s untimely death has sent shockwaves through the medical college community, where he was known as a sincere and hardworking student.
