இதுபோன்று பத்தனம்திட்டா மாவட்டத்தில் கொன்னி அருகே உள்ள அருவாபுலம் பஞ்சாயத்து அலுவலகத்திலும் கம்ப்யூட்டர்கள் ஹேக்கிங் செய்யப்பட்டு உள்ளது. மாநிலத்தில் பேப்பர் பைல்களை குறைக்க முக்கிய ஆவணங்கள் கம்ப்யூட்டர்களில் வைக்கப்பட்டு இருந்தன. ஹேக்கிங்கிற்கு உள்ளாகி உள்ள கம்ப்யூட்டர்களை எப்படி மீட்பது என ஐடி நிபுணர்கள் பணியாற்றி வருகிறார்கள்.

இப்போது ஐ.சி.ஐ.சி.ஐ. , எச்.டி.எப்.சி. வங்கிகளும் வட்டியை குறைத்துள்ளன.

இது குறித்து எச்.டி.எப்.சி. ெவளியிட்ட அறிவிப்பில் கூறியிருப்பதாவது-

புதிதாக வீட்டுக்கடன் ரூ.30 லட்சம் வரை பெறும் பெண்களுக்கு வட்டி 8.35 சதவீதமாகவும், மற்றவர்களுக்கு 8.40 சதவீதம் வட்டியும் நிர்ணயிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

அதேசமயம், ரூ. 30 லட்சம் முதல் ரூ.70 லட்சம் வரை கடன் பெறும் பெறும் வாடிக்கையாளர்ளுக்கான வட்டி 8.50 சதவீதம் என்பதில் மாற்றமில்லை. ரூ.75 லட்சத்துக்கு அதிகமாக கடன் பெறும் வாடிக்கையாளர்களுக்கு வட்டி 8.75 சதவீதத்தில் இருந்து 8.55 சதவீதமாக குறைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இந்த புதிய வட்டி முறை இன்று முதல் நடைமுறைக்கு வந்துள்ளது எனத் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

ஐ.சி.ஐ.சி.ஐ வங்கி வௌியிட்ட அறிவிப்பில் “ நடுத்தர மக்களின் சொந்த வீட்டுக் கனவை நினவாக்கும் வகையில், ரூ.30 லட்சம் வரை வீட்டுக்கடன் பெறுபவர்களுக்கு வட்டி 0.3 சதவீதம் வரை குறைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

வேலைக்குச் செல்லும் பெண்கள் ரூ.30 லட்சம் வரை வீட்டுக்கடன் பெற்றால், அவர்களுக்கு வட்டி 8.35 சதவீதமும், மற்றவர்களுக்கு 8.40 சதவீதமும் வட்டி விதிக்கப்படும் எனத் தெரிவித்துள்ளது.

பெட்ரோல், டீசல் விலை குறைப்பு: நள்ளிரவு முதல் அமல்

2,000 Computers Affected In Japan; Schools, Univs, Railways, Hospitals Hit In China; Indonesia, S Korea Too Targeted

The worldwide “ransomware'' cyberattack spread to thousands more computers on Monday as people across Asia logged in at work, disrupting businesses, schools, hospitals and daily life. But no new large-scale outbreaks were reported, and British officials said a feared second wave of infections had not materialised.

The new infections were largely in Asia, which had been closed for business when the malware first struck. In Britain, whose health service was among the first targets of the online extortion scheme, health secretary Jeremy Hunt said “we have not seen a second wave of attacks.“

The malware, known as “WannaCry ,“ paralysed computers running factories, banks, government agencies and transport systems, hitting 200,000 victims in more than 150 countries. Among those hit were Russia's interior ministry and companies including Spain's Telefonica and FedEx Corp in the US.

Though the spread of the ransomware slowed on Monday , many companies and government agencies were still struggling to recover from the first attack. Renault said one of its French plants, which employs 3,500 people, wasn't reopening on Monday as a “preventative step.'' In Asia, where Friday's attack occurred after business hours, thousands of new cases were reported on Monday as people came back to work.

The Japan Computer Emergency Response Team Coordination Center, a nonprofit group, said 2,000 computers at 600 locations in Japan were affected. Companies including Hitachi and Nissan Motor Co reported problems but said they had not seriously affected their operations. Chinese state media said 29,372 institutions there had been infected along with hundreds of thousands of devices. Universities and other educational institutions in China were among the hardest hit, possibly because schools tend to have old computers and be slow to update operating systems and security , said Fang Xingdong, founder of ChinaLabs, an internet strategy think tank.

On social media, students complained about not being able to access their work, and people in various cities said they hadn't been able to take their driving tests over the weekend because some local traffic police systems were down.

Railway stations, mail delivery, gas stations, hospitals, office buildings, shopping malls and government services also were affected, China's Xinhua News Agency said, citing the Threat Intelligence Center of Qihoo 360, an internet security services firm. In Indonesia, the malware locked patient files on computers in two hospitals in the capital, Jakarta, causing delays.

South Korea said just nine cases of ransomware had been found in the country so far.

Experts urged organisations and companies to immediately update older Microsoft operating systems, such as Windows XP , with a patch released by Microsoft Corp to limit vulnerability to a more powerful version of the malware -or to future versions that can't be stopped.

The attack held users hostage by freezing their computers, popping up a red screen with the words, “Oops, your files have been encrypted!'' and demanding money through online bitcoin payment -$300 at first, rising to $600 before it destroys files hours later. As cybersecurity firms worked around the clock to monitor the situation and install a software patch, new variants of the rapidly replicating malware were discovered on Sunday . One did not include the so-called kill switch that allowed researchers to interrupt the malware's spread on Friday.

Ryan Kalember, senior vice president at Proofpoint Inc, which helped stop its spread, said the version without a kill switch could spread. It was benign because it contained a flaw that prevented it from taking over computers and demanding ransom to unlock files but other more malicious ones will likely pop up.

“We haven't fully dodged this bullet at all until we're patched against the vulnerability itself,'' Kalember said. AP

Court warns Justice Karnan for sending his lawyer repeatedly

The Supreme Court on Monday warned Calcutta high court judge Justice C S Karnan, who is evading arrest, for sending his advocate repeatedly to seek urgent hearing against the award of six month jail term to him, and even told his lawyer that he could be thrown out of the court.

The apex court came down heavily against his lawyer Mathews J Nedumpara, who was told that he can even be asked to be “thrown out“ of the court for making it a habit to mention the matter “over and over again“.

“We are saying no and yet you (lawyer) continue to come again and again. You come five times or 20 times. But we are telling you that you are interfering with the process of the court.Everyday you are interfering with the process of court.

“We are liberal to you. It is for you to understand, we can be liberal and harsh,“ a five-judge Constitution bench headed by Chief Justice J S Khahar, which was hearing a batch of pleas on 'triple talaq', said.

The remarks were made when Nedumpara, counsel for Justice Karnan, sought urgent hearing and setting up of the 7judge bench which had held him guilty of contempt of court with six months imprisonment on May 9. Earlier also in the day , Nedumpara had mentioned the matter, inviting strong remarks from the CJI.

“We have asked you to file your petition before the Registry. If Registry passes it, we will hear it. You have got a habit of coming over and over again. If you interfere with the process of law, we can ask you to be thrown out,“ the bench had remarked.

The CJI, on May 12, had said that a “conscious decision“ was taken by seven judges to sentence Justice Karnan to six months imprisonment by holding him guilty of contempt.

Nedumpara, on that day , had mentioned the matter thrice without any success.

The seven-judge bench of the apex court had on May 9 passed the order sentencing Karnan to jail by holding him guilty of contempt of court and sentencing him to six months imprisonment, a day after he defiantly ordered eight SC judges to be put behind bars.

80% buses off road in central districts of TN

Day 1 of the `indefinite' strike by state-owned transport corporation employees in Tamil Nadu hit the travel plans of hundreds of commuters hard on Monday , but passed off rather peacefully without untoward incidents.

The state government managed to put at least 40 % of its fleet on the roads, while private buses pitched in to cushion the impact of the statewide strike called by 10 trade unions. The worst-affected were long-distance travelers as they were held up at bus stands for hours together.

Transport minister M R Vijayabaskar, however, claimed that 75 % of buses were plying.

But much of the intended chaos was prevented because the public were by and large prepared and tweaked their travel schedules, since buses stopped plying from Sunday evening. The fact that colleges and schools were on vacation also salvaged the situation to a large extent. Vacations eliminated the pressure from school and college-bound students, and it helped the government to rope in the school and college buses for public transportation. In Chennai, the strike cal led by various transport trade unions had little impact on intra-city travel. “We have prepared a list of 112 drivers from private schools and colleges to salvage the situation on Tuesday,'' said an official from the school education department. In Coimbatore, commuters had a smooth travel though 51% of the government buses stayed off road. Private buses stayed off road. Private buses, tourist buses and mini buses came to the rescue, but sought to exploit the situation by charging exorbitantly.“The ticket for Ooty was `125, more than double the usual `60,“ said M Pradeesh, a techie. In central districts though, 80% buses stayed off road, crippling public transport. The central bus stand in Trichy resembled a private bus terminal, with less than 20% of corporation buses operating on Monday . AITUC district general secretary A Mani said the strike had been 100% successful and the stir would intensify in the coming days.

The strike had a lower impact in Salem, the home district of chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami. Trade union sources 850 of 1,929 buses in the district plied as usual. Most of the mofussil buses did not ply since Sunday night. However, authorities went into a fire-fighting mode and roped in private bus drivers and allowed them to operate their buses in any routes they desire, by issuing temporary permits.

Many travellers deferred journeys, resulting in the lesser crowding in the fewer buses that operated in the southern districts. Transport remained largely unaffected in Madurai city, where people mostly depend on share autorickshaws and minibuses.

God! Rajini confuses fans again on entry into politics

One of his famous film dialogues goes something like this: “When I say something once, it's like I have said it a hundred times.“ But when it comes to his statements on entering politics, he just can't be clear with a hundred statements.

Actor Rajinikanth did on Monday what he has always done: Keep his fans guessing.The `superstar' met his fans in the city and gave a 16-minute speech that left them more confused than before. The actor's entry into politics has been a subject of intrigue and debates since 1996 when he gave the `oust Jayalalithaa' call result ing in the DMK-TMC combine sweeping the Assembly election. With Jayalalithaa's death in December last year, speculation was back. Rajini, who was to meet his fans last month, postponed the meeting, adding to the suspense.

But what he said on Monday , when he finally met the fans, was a garbled regurgitation of his ambiguous statements in the past. “My life is in the hands of God,“ he said.

“I am a mere tool. I serve as an actor today . Whatever role God gives me tomorrow I will stay true to that. I don't know what that role is. It is in God's hand.“Rajini used the term `God's will“ whenever he referred to talk about his entry into politics. And that was the closest he got to being committal.

About a thousand fans who came from Karur, Kanyakumari and Dindigul districts gathered at the Raghavendra Mandapam as early as 6am to hear the actor break the suspense over his future plans.Referring to his 1996 statement, Rajini said, “What occurred 21 years ago was an accident. Due to some circumstances, I pledged my support to a coalition and people made it win. Since then my name has been dragged into politics during every election.“ He said post 1996, some of his fans misused his name in politics to earn money . “Such people among my fans should keep away from me if I enter politics,“ he said.

“Some of my fans and politicians used each other for political and monetary gains. As a result I had to clarify prior to every election that I am not supporting any party .“

Fans have been urging the actor to take the plunge into politics ever since the release of `Murattu Kaalai' (1980) in which the title song `pothuvaga en manassu thangam' introduces Rajini as a kind-hearted man who can turn into a ferocious lion if drawn into a battle. The director of the film S P Muthuraman, who directed the `superstar' in 25 films was present at Monday's interaction.

Opposition parties wasted no time in reacting to the actor's speech. DMK working president M K Stalin stated he does not want to express his “personal view“ on the subject and said, “It is up to Rajinikanth whether he wants to enter politics or not.“

Union minister Pon Radhakrishnan of the BJP welcomed the actor's advice to fans. “I am happy that he is leading from the front. I welcome his appeal to youngsters to abstain from bad habits.“

Banks, Firms On High Alert; Business As Usual, ATMs Unaffected
Barring sporadic inci dents in a few states, most institutions and industries across the country continue to remain insulated from the effect of the WannaCry ransomware cyberattack that has affected computers in approximately 100 countries worldwide. Banks, government departments and corporate houses have issued messages of caution and reinforced their online security. However, business was unaffected as markets and offices opened on Monday after a weekend during which ripple effects of the malware spread across the globe.
For now, RBI has asked banks to operationalise their ATM networks only after software updates are installed.

The social network was abuzz with talk that ATMs in many places were not functional. However, bankers said this was likely because the machines had run out of cash. “In any case, since demonetisation, the flow of cash at ATMs is not what it used to be,“ said businessman Ashit Desai in Mumbai.

Corporate houses urged employees to back up their data and refrain from opening unfamiliar file attachments. “We are also urging all Windows users to install software upgrades and firewalls,“ said the I-T head of a media group.

FMCG companies Marico and Godrej Industries issued advisories to employees, asking them to guard against the malware. A Mar ico spokesperson said, “While we have not been impacted, we have proactively issued an advisory to employees and distributors.“

The broking and mutual fund industries remained insulated from any loss from the malware attack, said top officials from the two industries.

“All exchange operations went on normally . There were no reports of any specific case of attack from the brokerage industry . Trading volumes were also normal,“ said Ashishkumar Chau han, MD & CEO, BSE.

Yet, the problem may be more complex--and prolonged--than originally believed. US government officials as well as experts warned on Sunday that the effects of the malicious software could linger because “this code was cobbled together from many places and sources“. There are fears its new variant could affect computers around the globe as days wear on. Reports of new cases surfaced from Japan, South Korea and Taiwan over the weekend.

Among cities in which sporadic attacks were reported are Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Chennai and Kolkata. Dhananjay Dwivedi, secretary in Gujarat government, said there were 120 incidents across Gujarat.“However, there is no harm on government functioning,“ he added.

In Kerala, computers in panchayat offices in Wayanad and Pathanamthitta districts were affected. “The staff who came to office on Monday found Microsoft Word and MS Office files locked and inaccessible,“ said Thariyode panchayat president Reena Sunil. Police have registered a case under Section 43 of IT Act on the basis of complaint from the panchayat secretary .

Meanwhile, the Oragadam factory of alliance partners Renault & Nissan restarted production on Monday after a disruption on Saturday . A Nissan spokesperson said in a statement, “Like many organisations around the world some Nissan entities were targeted by the ransomware attack. Our teams have been responding accordingly and there was no major impact on our business. Normal production operations are underway at our RNAIPL plant in Chennai“ The attack had impacted production across two shifts or nearly 900 cars on Saturday . With production resuming only around noon on Monday , the loss due to production increased to 1,200 vehicles.

பேச்சுவார்த்தை தோல்வி
மே 14-ம் தேதி காலை அமைச்சர் எம்.ஆர்.விஜயபாஸ்கருடன் நடந்த பேச்சுவார்த்தையும் தோல்வியில் முடிந்தது. இதனையடுத்து மாநிலத்தின் பல்வேறு பகுதிகளில் போக்குவரத்து ஊழியர்கள் போராட்டத்தில் ஈடுப்பட்டனர். திருச்சி, மதுரை, கோயம்புத்தூர், விருதுநகர் உள்ளிட்ட மாவட்டங்களில் வேலைநிறுத்தப் போராட்டம் தொடங்கியது. போக்குவரத்து ஊழியர்கள் பணிமனைகளை முடக்கினர். அதன்பிறகு அமைச்சர் விஜயபாஸ்கர் போக்குவரத்து தொழிற்சங்க நிர்வாகிகளுடன் மீண்டும் பேச்சுவார்த்தையில் ஈடுபட்டார். பல்லவன் இல்லத்தில் நடைபெற்ற இந்தப் பேச்சுவார்த்தையும் தோல்வியில் முடிந்தது.

பேச்சுவார்தை தோல்வியில் முடிந்ததையடுத்து பெரும்பாலான மாவட்டங்களில் போக்குவரத்து ஊழியர்கள் வேலை நிறுத்தப்போராட்டத்தை தொடங்கினர். '20 ஆண்டுகளாக நிலுவையில் இருக்கும் தொழிலாளர்களின் வைப்புத் தொகையை உடனே கேட்பது நியாமல்ல.போக்குவரத்து ஊழியர்கள் வேண்டுமென்றே நொண்டிச் சாக்கு கூறிக் கொண்டு போராட்டத்தில் ஈடுபடுகின்றனர். ஏற்கெனவே 750 கோடி ரூபாய் வழங்குவதற்கான அரசாணை வெளியிடப்பட்டுள்ளது. மேலும் 500 கோடி ரூபாய் தருவதற்கு முதல்வர் எடப்பாடி பழனிசாமி ஒப்புதல் அளித்துள்ளார். இதனைப் புரிந்து கொண்டு போக்குவரத்து ஊழியர்கள் பேருந்துகளை இயக்க வேண்டும். அரசியல் காரணங்களுக்காகவே இவர்கள் போராட்டம் நடத்துகிறார்கள்.' என அமைச்சர் விஜயபாஸ்கர் தெரிவித்தார்.

பயணிகள் அவதி
போக்குவரத்து ஊழியர்கள் முன்கூட்டியே தங்கள் வேலைநிறுத்தத்தைத் தொடங்கியதை அடுத்து தமிழகத்தின் அனைத்துப் பகுதிகளிலிருந்தும் வெளியூர் செல்லும் பயணிகள் மிகுந்த அவதிக்கு உள்ளாகினர். மதுரை மாட்டுத்தாவணி பேருந்து நிலையத்தில் வெளியூர்களுக்குச் செல்லமுடியாமல் பயணிகள் காத்திருந்தனர். வாரயிறுதி விடுமுறைக்குச் சொந்த ஊர்களுக்குச் சென்றவர்கள் மீண்டும் பணிபுரியும் ஊர்களுக்குச் செல்ல பேருந்து இல்லாமல் தவித்தனர். ஆம்னி பேருந்துகளில் இரண்டு மடங்கு கட்டணம் வசூலிக்கப்படுவதாகப் புகார் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டது.

மாற்று ஏற்பாடுகள்
சென்னை கோயம்பேடு பேருந்து நிலையத்தில் நேற்று இரவு அரசுப் பேருந்துகள் புறப்படாததால் பயணிகள் மிகுந்த சிரமத்திற்கு உள்ளாகினர். பயணிகளின் சிரமம் கருதி ஆம்னி பேருந்து போக்குவரத்து அதிகப்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது. நேற்று இரவு கோயம்பேடு பேருந்து நிலையத்தில் போக்குவரத்துத்துறை அமைச்சர் விஜயபாஸ்கர் ஆய்வு மேற்கொண்டார். பயணிகள் அவதியுறாமல் தடுக்கும் முன்னேற்பாடு, பாதுகாப்பு அம்சங்கள் குறித்து அவர் அதிகாரிகளிடம் விசாரித்ததாகக் கூறப்படுகிறது. பயணிகளின் சிரமத்தைத் தவிர்ப்பதற்காக சிறப்பு ரயில்களும் இயக்கப்படும் எனத் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. 'பேருந்துகளை இயக்குவதைத் தடுப்பவர்கள் மீது காவல்துறை கடுமையான நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கும். ஆம்னி பேருந்துகள் அதிகமான கட்டணம் வசூலித்தால் கடுமையாக தண்டிக்கப்படுவார்கள்' என்று அமைச்சர் தெரிவித்தார். அதன்பிறகு, அண்ணாநகர் பணிமனை உள்ளிட்ட இடங்களிலும் அமைச்சர் ஆய்வு செய்ததாகக் கூறப்படுகிறது.

மாநகரப் பேருந்துகள் பணிமனைகளுக்குக் கொண்டு செல்லப்பட்டன. ஓய்வுபெற்ற ஊழியர்களை வைத்துப் பேருந்துகளை இயக்கவும் முடிவு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளதாம். பஸ் ஸ்டிரைக்கை முன்னிட்டு இன்று (மே 15) முடிந்த அளவு பஸ்களை இயக்க அரசு முயற்சித்து வருகிறது. இந்நிலையில் சென்னை மாநகர போக்குவரத்து கழகம் சார்பில் தற்காலிக டிரைவர் மற்றும் கண்டக்டர் பணிக்கான அழைப்பு விடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. டிரைவர் மற்றும் கண்டக்டர் பேட்ஜ் மற்றும் லைசென்ஸ் உள்ளவர்கள் உடனடியாக சென்னை மாநகர போக்குவரத்து கழக மேலாளரை அனுகலாம் எனவும் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. மேலும், 2000 தனியார் பேருந்துகளை இயக்கவிருப்பதாகவும் தகவல் வெளியாகியுள்ளது.


ஏன் கொந்தளிக்கிறார்கள் ஊழியர்கள்?

Madras HC variable apart, Anna University convocation work on

CHENNAI: Degree certificates are being printed. So are the invitation cards, as Anna University authorities have decided to go ahead with the convocation on May 19, even as the key post of Vice-Chancellor (V-C) is vacant.

However, a section of faculty members is sceptical whether the function will be held as scheduled, with the Madras High Court set to hear a petition against it just two days prior to that.

Speaking to Express on condition of anonymity, a faculty member said the university has started printing the certificates. “After Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao, who is the Chancellor of the university, gave consent to hold the convocation on May 19, the announcement was made on the university website, inviting students for registration. They have also started preparing drafts of  the invitation,” he said.

According to university officials, degree would be conferred on PhD students, gold medallists and toppers in various courses and branches from all the affiliated colleges. Students have been given time till Monday evening to register for the convocation. “As of now, 700 students have registered. There are 1,500 PhD holders both from university departments and affiliated colleges,” said an official.

However, a section of the faculty pointed out that holding the ceremony depended on the outcome of the court case.

The Anna University Teachers’ Association (AUTA) had filed the petition against holding the convocation before the post of V-C was filled up.

Faculty and students have been raising concerns about not having the V-C’s signature on the degree certificate, which, in academic circles, especially the elite institutions abroad, is considered a serious drawback for the student.

The petition was filed on May 10, following which the court issued notice to the higher education department seeking reply. “In the meanwhile, a public advertisement was issued on May 11, and a 50-member committee was formed to organise the convocation - all without informing the court,” alleged S Chandramohan, secretary, AUTA.

Backing him, another professor requesting anonymity noted how the university had spent Rs 79 lakh for the last convocation. “As the matter is pending before the court, they should not go ahead with preparat

ory work. Otherwise, all that money would go waste if the court stays the convocation,” he added.

Though there were reports that T V Geetha, director of academic courses, who is the senior-most faculty member in the varsity, would be made the officiating V-C,   sources within the faculty said there has not been any move in this regard.

Meanwhile, students from the Revolutionary Students Federation and other organisations have announced protests from Monday to Thursday to stop the convocation in the absence of V-C.

இதுகுறித்து சென்னை பல்லவன் இல்லத்தில் செய்தியாளர்கள் சந்திப்பில் அவர் தெரிவித்ததாவது: தமிழகத்தில் வழக்கம் போல் அரசு பஸ்கள் இயக்கப்படும். 2000 தனியார் பஸ்கள் இயக்க நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. தனியார் பஸ்கள் அதிக கட்டணம் வசூலித்தால் நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்படும். போக்குவரத்து தொழிலாளர்களுக்கு நிலுவைத் தொகையை வழங்க தமிழக முதல்வர் உதவி அளித்துள்ளார். போக்குவரத்து தொழிலாளர்களுடன் மீண்டும் பேச்சுவார்த்தை நடத்த அரசு தயாராக உள்ளது. இவ்வாறு அவர் தெரிவித்தார்.

புதுடில்லி:உலகம் முழுவதும் முன்னணி நிறுவனங்களின் கம்ப்யூட்டர்களை தாக்கி செய லிழக்கச் செய்து வரும், வான்னாக்ரை' வைரஸ், இந்தியாவில் வேகமாக பரவத் துவங்கி இருப்ப தாக, கம்ப்யூட்டர் அவசரநிலை பாதுகாப்பு குழு எச்சரித்துள்ளது.



அமெரிக்காவின், என்.எஸ்.ஏ., எனப்படும் தேசிய பாதுகாப்பு அமைப்பின் சர்வர் கம்ப்யூட்டர்களை, மென்பொருள் திருடர்கள், சாதுர்யமாக தாக்கி, அந்த கம்ப்யூட்டர்களில் சேமித்து வைக்கப்பட்டி ருந்த, 'மால்வேர்' எனப்படும், மென்பொருள் வைரஸ்களை களவாடி உள்ளனர்.

பெயரிடப்பட்டுள்ள இந்த கொடிய வைரஸ், பிரிட்டன், ரஷ்யா, இந்தியா உட்பட, 100க்கும் மேற் பட்ட நாடுகளில் லட்சக்கணக்கான கம்ப்யூட்டர் களில்,பாதிப்பை ஏற்படுத்தி வருகின்றன.

ஆந்திராவில் உள்ள போலீஸ் ஸ்டேஷன்களுக்கு சொந்த மான கம்ப்யூட்டர்களும், இந்த வைரஸால் கடுமை யாக பாதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதாக தகவல்கள் வெளியாகின.

இந்நிலையில், கம்ப்யூட்டர்களில் வைரஸ் தாக்கு தல் நடப்பதை தடுக்கவும், 'சைபர் கிரைம்' எனப் படும், இணையக் குற்றங்கள் ஏற்படுவதை தடுக்க வும், உருவாக்கப்பட்ட, சி.இ.ஆர்.டி.இன் எனப்படும், கம்ப்யூட்டர் அவசரநிலை பாதுகாப்பு குழு, வைரஸ் குறித்த புதிய எச்சரிக்கையை, நேற்று விடுத்தது; அதில்கூறப்பட்டுள்ளதாவது:

'வான்னாக்ரை' எனப் பெயரிடப்பட்டுள்ள, புதிய வைரஸ் அசுர வேகத்தில் பரவி வருவதாக தகவல்கள் வருகின்றன. 'விண்டோஸ்' எனப்படும், இயங்குதளத்தை கொண்டு செயல்படும் கம்ப்யூட்டர்களில், எஸ்.எம்.பி., எனப்படும், சர்வர் கம்ப்யூட்டர் தகவல் தடுப்பு முறையில் உள்ள

குறைபாடுகளை பயன் படுத்தி, இந்த வைரஸ் பரவத் துவங்குகிறது.

தடுப்பு நடவடிக்கை:

இந்த வைரஸ் பரவுவதை தடுக்க, விண்டோஸ் இயங்கு தளத்தில் செயல்படும் கம்ப்யூட்டரில், 'பேட்ச் சஸ்' எனப்படும், மென்பொருள் தொகு ப்பை நிறுவலாம். வைரஸ் பாதிப்பு தடுப்பு மென் பொருளை நிறுவும் நடவடிக்கைகளை யும் மேற்கொள்ளலாம்.இவ்வாறு அந்த அமைப்பு கூறியுள்ளது.

Absenteeism One Of The Main Causes 

 

Despite efforts to ensure 100% pass percentage in government schools in the board exams, northern districts have not been able to improve their figures over the years. In fact, in the Class 12 state board results announced on Friday , three out of the seven northern educational districts did not have even a single government school with 100% pass percentage.

 

Educationists and government school teachers told TOI that teacher shortage, lack of parental guidance and high absenteeism, both among teachers and students, are to be blamed.
The statistics provided by the directorate of government examinations show that three districts had no government schools with 100% pass rate, while the number of schools with 100% pass percentage in the remaining districts was in single digits. Moreover, the overall pass percentage was also poor among these districts.However, the number of students in government schools were high in these districts (six out of seven had more than 10,000 students).

A government school teacher from Vellore said that most students from government schools do not live with their parents. “It is the lack of parental guidance that is one of the problems among students here. Most of them live with their grandparents or relatives,“ said the teacher. “In the absence of their parents, students tend to bunk school or not show interest in education,“ the teacher added.
Absenteeism is high among students in the northern districts. A Tamil teacher from Tiruvannamalai cited an example of a student from his school who did not attend classes for even a single day last year, but was allowed to sit for the exam. “He failed,“ said the teacher. “Until a few years ago, the state govern ment was particular about attendance of at least 75-80%.Now, the officials are not concerned about the students' attendance,“ said the Tamil teacher.

It is not just students who absent themselves from school. “Teachers too bunk.Many government school teachers in rural areas do not come to duty regularly ,“ said general secretary of Tamil Nadu State Platform for Common Schools, P B Prince Gajendra Babu. “The district officials of the school education department should ensure that the teachers attend school regularly , which will help improve the performance of the students,“ he said.

On the other hand, there is shortage of teachers too.According to the state's school education department, the teacher to student ratio at the higher secondary level should be 1:40. “But, in Cuddalore district, government schools have 1:60 teacher-student ratio on average,“ said a government school teacher in Cuddalore. In Tiruvannamalai, a government school has only one Tamil teacher for 800 higher secondary students. “The state government should take steps to fill vacant posts in government schools and also stop deputing them for government work,“ said Gajendra Babu. The school education department too is planning to take steps to improve the performance of government schools. “We will hold a meeting shortly to decide on our plans for the northern districts,“ the principal secretary for the school education department T Udhayachandran had told TOI.

`State govt is putting pressure on employees'





A majority of MTC buses in the city and intercity buses operated by state transport corporations will stay off the road on Monday as transport trade unions have announced plans to go ahead with an indefinite strike after talks with TN government failed on Sunday .

 

Preparations for the strike began soon after word spread that talks had failed. Drivers and conductors of MTC buses drove their vehicles to the depots and employees wrote `strike' on the windshields of the parked buses. Commuters did not feel the impact because it was a holiday.

Only 30% of long distance buses operated from Koyambedu. Similarly , more than 50% of the buses stayed off the road from Sunday afternoon at Trichy , Coimbatore, Madurai and Thanjavur. Labour Progressive Federation all India treasurer K Natarajan said the second round of talks held on Sunday also failed due to the adamant attitude of the government. Natarajan said, “We expect ma jority of the workers to join the strike from tomorrow. A total of 22,000 transport corporation vehicles are operated in the state of which only 10% will be plying.“

However, transport minister M R Vijaya Bhaskar said the AIADMKbacked union will not be part of the strike. Natarajan said the government was putting pressure on them by deploying police in many depots.

“By posting police the government is provoking the employees,“ he said.
CITU state president A Soundararajan said the strike started early in some parts of the state due to preemptive action by the government.“In many places including Namakkal, leaders of the action committee of (transport corporation) trade unions were arrested,“ he said.
The government said it was fully prepared to prevent the strike from affecting the public. The police have mobilised thousands of police personnel across the state to handle emergencies. In Chennai, there will be more than 15,000 police personnel at work and the strength will go up to one lakh across the state.

In a meeting conducted by the Chennai police commissioner Karan Singha on Saturday evening with officials of transport and revenue departments, it was decided to deploy additional police strength at CMBT and Pallavan House. All bus terminals will have the presence of revenue and transport department officials. Recovery vehicles will be kept ready and alternate drivers have been put on work to operate buses that are halted midway .

Omni buses assn to help counter stir

The strike may not have much of an impact on intercity travel as TN Omni Bus Owners Association has decided to help the government with spare buses if needed on Monday . The association's president A Afzal said, “We have decided to provide spare buses with the private operators. More than 2,000 buses including the omni buses and the stage carriages will be operated on behalf of the government from Monday .“

About increase of fares due to non-operation of government buses, Afzal said already the association decided and informed the members not to hike the fares due to the strike.
However, there was not much rush at the omni bus terminus in Koyambedu though a majority of government buses did not run.

Omni buses plying from Koyambedu to other districts are set to be in demand on Monday .On Sunday , a small stream of passengers tricked down from the CMBT to take omni buses as the number of state transport corporation buses in operation was slashed by 70% on Sunday evening. K Gopal, employed with one of the private bus operators, said, “The number of passengers has not increased by much tonight (Sunday). We expect the number of passengers taking omni buses to go up on Monday .“

Trade Unions Begin Prior Arrangements To Observe Bandh

Only about 30% of the buses in the city plied on Sunday evening as trade unions belonging to the eight state transport corporations began making prior arrangements to observe the statewide strike on Monday. Police surrounded the Pallavan House (headquarters of Metropolitan Transport Corporation) after talks between transport unions and transport minister M R Vijayabhaskar failed again on Sunday . The strike has been called by trade unions affiliated to opposition political parties including DMK, CPI and CPI(M). Bus drivers and conductors belonging to the ruling AIADMK backed Anna Thozhirsanga Peravai (ATP) were working on Sunday night.An ATP member, however, said, “The demands raised are just and common to all of us.“

The footfalls at the Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus in Koyambedu reduced drastically on Sunday . The fleet of State Express Transport Corporation (SETC) buses that travel to other districts reduced by 60-70%, as was the case at city bus depots including the busy T Nagar depot. At CMBT, passengers who boarded bu ses were usually those with prebooked tickets.

R Gunasekaran, who boarded a bus to Trichy with his wife at 8pm, said, “I was aware of the strike announced by the transport unions. I booked my ticket online on Saturday evening itself.“ At T Nagar, passengers were left stranded as several buses were cancelled. Shoppers leaving T Nagar on Sunday evening had to find other modes of transport to get back home. R Vidhya, who was stranded at the T Nagar bus terminus with shopping bags, said, “I have been waiting for more than 30 minutes. The bus to Mogappair has been cancelled.“

Another passenger K Arul had to take a connecting bus as the direct bus had been cancelled. Arul said, “I was not aware that the strike would get underway on Sunday itself. Instead of boarding the M7 bus, I had to take the 5B bus to Mylapore to find a connecting bus from there to Thiruvanmiyur.“

பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோடி ஒருமுறை பேசும்போது, இந்தியாவின் வளர்ச்சிக்கும், பொருளாதார மேம்பாட்டுக்கும், ரெயில்வே துறையை முதுகெலும்பாக மாற்றுவது எனது கனவு என்றார். அந்தவகையில், காஷ்மீர் முதல் கன்னியாகுமரி வரையில் மக்களின் அன்றாட வாழ்வில் ரெயில்வேயின் பங்கு மிகமுக்கியமானதாகும். இந்திய ரெயில்வேயில் 12,617 ரெயில்கள் தினமும் 2 கோடியே 30 லட்சம் பயணிகளை ஏற்றிக்கொண்டு, 7,172 ரெயில் நிலையங்கள் வழியாக ஓடிக்கொண்டிருக்கின்றன. பயணிகள் ரெயில்கள் மட்டுமல்லாமல், 7,421 சரக்கு ரெயில்களும் தினமும் 30 லட்சம் டன் சரக்குகளை ஏற்றிக்கொண்டு செல்கின்றன.

பயணிகள் ரெயிலை பொறுத்தமட்டில், பயணிகளிடமிருந்து வசூலிக்கும் கட்டணம், அவர்களுக்கான செலவை ஈடுகட்டும்வகையில் இல்லை. அந்தளவுக்கு ரெயில்வே கட்டணம் குறைவாக இருக்கிறது என்று ஒரு காரணத்தை சொன்னாலும், ரெயில்வேயில் ஏராளமான சலுகைகள், இலவசங்கள் இருக்கின்றன. ரெயில்வேயில் பணியாற்றுபவர்கள், ஓய்வுபெற்றவர்கள் மட்டுமல்லாமல், இலவச பாஸ்கள் கொடுக்கப்பட்டிருக்கும் பட்டியல் பெரிய பட்டியலாகவே இருக்கிறது.
ஒருபுறம் இலவச பாஸ்கள், மறுபுறம் கட்டண சலுகைகள் என்று ரெயில் பயணிகள் பெரும்பாலானோர் இலவச பாஸ்களையும், இலவச கட்டண சலுகைகளையும் வைத்துக்கொண்டுதான் பயணிக்கிறார்கள். தற்போது ரெயில்வேயை பொறுத்தமட்டில், ரெயில்களை இயக்குவதற்கான நஷ்டம் ரூ.34 ஆயிரம் கோடி அளவுக்கு இருப்பதால், கட்டண சலுகைகள் கொடுக்கும் பல்வேறு இனங்களில் தற்போது வழங்கும் சலுகைகளை குறைக்கவும், அதுபோல யாருக்காக கட்டண சலுகைகளை வழங்குகிறார்களோ, அவர்களுக்கான துறையே அந்த சலுகை தொகையை வழங்கவேண்டும் என்று கோரவும் முடிவெடுத்துள்ளது. இந்த முயற்சியின் ஒருபகுதியாக 53 கட்டண சலுகைகளில் இவ்வாறு நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க திட்டமிடப்பட்டுள்ளது. இதன்மூலம் இப்போது வழங்கும் ரூ.1,600 கோடி மதிப்பிலான செலவில் பெரும்பகுதியை குறைக்கத்திட்டமிட்டுள்ளது.

தற்போது ரெயில்வேயில் அனைத்து வகுப்புகளிலும் அடிப்படை கட்டணத்தில் 60 வயதுக்கு மேற்பட்ட ஆண்களுக்கு 30 சதவீத கட்டணச்சலுகையும், 58 வயதுக்கு மேற்பட்ட பெண்களுக்கு 50 சதவீத கட்டணச்சலுகையும் வழங்கப்படுகிறது. ஏற்கனவே பயணிகள் டிக்கெட் கட்டணம் மிகக்குறைவாக இருக்கும் நிலையில், ஒவ்வொரு டிக்கெட்டிலும் ஒரு ரூபாய் செலவில், 57 காசுகள்தான் டிக்கெட் கட்டணமாக வசூலிக்கப்படுகிறது. மீதி 43 காசுகள் அரசாங்கம்தான் உதவித்தொகையாக வழங்கவேண்டியதிருக்கிறது. இதுபோல, புறநகர் ரெயில்களில் ஒரு ரூபாய் செலவில், 37 காசுகள்தான் கட்டணம் மூலமாக வசூலிக்கப்படுகிறது. இந்தநிலையில், மூத்த குடிமக்களுக்கான சலுகையை 60 வயதிலிருந்து 70 வயதாக உயர்த்துவது குறித்து அரசு பரிசீலனை செய்துகொண்டிருக்கிறது. நிச்சயமாக ரெயில்வே துறை லாபகரமாக இயங்கவேண்டுமென்றால், இதுபோன்ற திட்டங்கள் வரவேற்புக்குரியவைத்தான். ஆனால், தேவையானவர்களுக்கு குறிப்பாக உடல் ஊனமுற்றோர், போர் விதவைகள் போன்ற சில இனங்களில் கண்டிப்பாக கட்டணச்சலுகைகள் வழங்கவேண்டியது அவசியம் என்பதில் மாற்றுக்கருத்து யாருக்கும் இருக்க முடியாது. அந்தவகையில், அந்த துறைகள் அந்த செலவை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளவேண்டும். ஆனால், பொதுவாக சலுகைகளில் கவனம் காட்டும் ரெயில்வே துறை, இலவச பாஸ்களிலும் தனது கவனத்தை செலுத்தவேண்டும். மொத்தத்தில், இலவச பாஸ்களை அடியோடு ஒழித்துவிடலாம். ரெயில்வே துறையினருக்கும், ஓய்வுபெற்றவர்களுக்கும் சலுகைகள், இலவச பாஸ்கள் வழங்கவேண்டுமென்றால், ஓரளவுக்கு அவர்களுக்கு அதற்குரிய அலவன்சுகளை வழங்கலாம். இவ்வாறு வழங்கும் இலவச பாஸ்கள் மற்றும் சலுகைகளை பெருமளவில் குறைத்தால், நிச்சயமாக டிக்கெட் எடுத்து பயணம் செய்பவர்களுக்கு ரிசர்வே‌ஷன் இல்லை, காத்திருப்போர் பட்டியலில் இருக்க சொல்லவேண்டிய நிர்ப்பந்தம் நிச்சயம் இருக்காது.

பரிசீலனை தொடங்கியது

ஜனாதிபதியாக பிரணாப் முகர்ஜி பதவி ஏற்று வருகிற ஜூலை மாதம் 25-ந்தேதியுடன் 5 ஆண்டுகள் நிறைவடைகிறது. இதையடுத்து புதிய ஜனாதிபதியை தேர்ந்தெடுக்க தேர்தல் நடைபெற உள்ளது. இந்த தேர்தலில் ஆளும் தேசிய ஜனநாயக கூட்டணி சார்பில் போட்டியிடுவதற்கான வேட்பாளர்களை பரிசீலிக்கும் பணிகள் இப்போதே தொடங்கி விட்டன.

பா.ஜனதாவில் பாராளுமன்ற சபாநாயகர் சுமித்ரா மகாஜன், மத்திய மந்திரி வெங்கையா நாயுடு மற்றும் ஜார்கண்ட் மாநில கவர்னர் திரவுபதி மர்மு போன்ற மூத்த தலைவர்களின் பெயர்கள் அடிபடுகின்றன.

இந்த மூவரில் ஒருவரை பிரதமர் மோடியும், பா.ஜனதா தலைவர் அமித்ஷாவும் கலந்து பேசி முடிவு செய்வார்கள் என்று எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறது.

சோனியாவுடன் சந்திப்பு

பிரதான எதிர்க்கட்சியான காங்கிரசும், பா.ஜனதாவுக்கு எதிரான கட்சிகளை ஒன்று திரட்டி வலுவான வேட்பாளரை நிறுத்த முடிவு செய்துள்ளது. இது தொடர்பாக காங்கிரஸ் தலைவர் சோனியா காந்தி, பீகார் முதல்-மந்திரி நிதிஷ்குமாருடன் பேச்சுவார்த்தை நடத்தினார். மேலும், இடது சாரி கட்சிகளின் முக்கிய தலைவர்களுடன் இது தொடர்பாக ஆலோசனை மேற்கொண்டார்.

இதேபோல் மேற்கு வங்காள முதல்-மந்திரியும், திரிணாமுல் காங்கிரஸ் தலைவருமான மம்தா பானர்ஜியை இந்த வாரத்தில் சோனியா காந்தி சந்தித்து பேசுகிறார். எதிர்க்கட்சிகள் சார்பில் மேற்கு வங்காள முன்னாள் கவர்னர் கோபால கிருஷ்ண காந்தி நிறுத்தப்படலாம் என்று எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறது.

இருமுனை போட்டி

ஜனாதிபதி தேர்தலில் எதிர்க்கட்சிகள் சார்பில் பொது வேட்பாளர் நிறுத்தப்பட்டால், தேசிய ஜனநாயக கூட்டணி- காங்கிரஸ் கூட்டணி வேட்பாளர் என இரு முனை போட்டி மட்டுமே நிலவும்.

ஜனாதிபதி தேர்தலை பொறுத்தவரை ஆளும் தேசிய ஜனநாயக கூட்டணி வேட்பாளர் வெற்றி பெறுவதற்கான வாய்ப்பு பிரகாசமாக உள்ளது. பாராளுமன்ற, டெல்லி மேல்-சபை எம்.பி.க்கள் மற்றும் மாநில சட்டசபை எம்.எல்.ஏ.க்கள் ஜனாதிபதி தேர்தலில் வாக்களிப்பார்கள். மாநில மக்கள் தொகையின் அடிப்படையில் எம்.பி. மற்றும் எம்.எல்.ஏ.க்களின் ஓட்டுகளுக்கு மதிப்பு உண்டு.

அண்மையில் நடந்து முடிந்த 5 மாநில சட்டசபை தேர்தல்களில் உத்தரபிரதேசத்திலும், ஜார்கண்டிலும் பா.ஜனதாவுக்கு அமோக வெற்றி கிடைத்தது. இதனால் பா.ஜனதாவுக்கு ஜனாதிபதி தேர்தலில் அதிக மதிப்பு கொண்ட ஓட்டுகள் கிடைக்கும்.

ஓட்டு மதிப்பு
தற்போது பாராளுமன்றத்தையும், டெல்லி மேல்-சபையையும் சேர்த்து மொத்தம் 776 எம்.பி.க்களும், அனைத்து மாநில சட்டசபைகளிலும் 4,120 எம்.எல்.ஏ.க்களும் உள்ளனர். இவர்களின் மொத்த ஓட்டு மதிப்பு 10 லட்சத்து 98 ஆயிரத்து 882 ஆகும். இதில் 5 லட்சத்து 49 ஆயிரத்து 422 ஓட்டுகளை ஒரு வேட்பாளர் பெற்று விட்டாலே அவர் ஜனாதிபதி ஆகி விடுவார்.

அந்த அடிப்படையில் பார்த்தால், தேசிய ஜனநாயக கூட்டணிக்கு தற்போது 410 எம்.பி.க்கள் மற்றும் 1,691 எம்.எல்.ஏ.க்கள் ஆதரவு மூலம் 5 லட்சத்து 32 ஆயிரத்து 19 ஓட்டுகள் கிடைக்கும். எனவே கூடுதலாக 17 ஆயிரத்து 422 ஓட்டுகள் மட்டுமே தேசிய ஜனநாயக கூட்டணி வேட்பாளருக்கு தேவை.

அண்மையில் ஆந்திர மாநிலத்தில் பிரதான எதிர்க்கட்சியாக உள்ள ஒய்.எஸ்.ஆர். காங்கிரசின் தலைவர் ஜெகன் மோகன் ரெட்டி டெல்லியில் பிரதமரை சந்தித்து பேசினார். அப்போது, ஜனாதிபதி தேர்தலில் தனது கட்சி தேசிய ஜனநாயக கூட்டணி வேட்பாளரை ஆதரிக்கும் என்று தெரிவித்தார். இதனால் அவருடைய கட்சி எம்.பி.க்கள் மற்றும் எம்.எல்.ஏ.க்கள் ஓட்டுகளும் கூடுதலாக கிடைக்கும்.

இது தவிர, தமிழ்நாட்டில் 2 அணிகளாக உள்ள அ.தி.மு.க. மற்றும் ஒடிசாவில் ஆளும் பிஜூ ஜனதா தளம் ஆகியவையும் பா.ஜனதா நிறுத்தும் ஜனாதிபதி வேட்பாளரை ஆதரிக்கும் நிலைப்பாட்டை மேற்கொள்ளலாம் என்று எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறது.

இதனால் தேசிய ஜனநாயக கூட்டணி வேட்பாளர் 6 லட்சத்துக்கும் அதிக மதிப்புள்ள ஓட்டுகளை பெறும் வாய்ப்பு உள்ளது. அதே நேரம் எதிர்க்கட்சிகள் பொதுவான வேட்பாளரை நிறுத்தினாலும் கூட 3 லட்சத்து 90 ஆயிரம் ஓட்டுகளுக்கு மேல் பெறுவதற்கு வாய்ப்பு இல்லை என்றே கருதப்படுகிறது.

தேர்தலுக்கு பிறகு ராஜினாமா

உத்தரபிரதேச முதல்-மந்திரியாக நியமிக்கப்பட்ட யோகி ஆதித்யநாத் மற்றும் கோவா முதல்-மந்திரி பதவியாக ஏற்றுக்கொண்ட மனோகர் பாரிக்கர் உத்தரபிரதேச துணை முதல்-மந்திரி கேசவ் பிரசாத் மவுரியா ஆகியோர் தற்போது எம்.பி.க்களாக உள்ளனர். ஜனாதிபதி தேர்தலில் ஒவ்வொரு எம்.பி.யின் ஓட்டும் மிகவும் மதிப்பு வாய்ந்தது என்பதால் இதுவரை இந்த மூவரும் தங்களது எம்.பி. பதவியை ராஜினாமா செய்யவில்லை. ஜனாதிபதி தேர்தலுக்கு பின்னரே இவர்கள் எம்.பி. பதவியை ராஜினாமா செய்து மாநில சட்டசபை தேர்தலில் போட்டியிடுவார்கள்.

மார்ச் மாத மத்தியில் மாநில முதல்-மந்திரி மற்றும் துணை முதல்-மந்திரி பதவிகளை ஏற்றுக்கொண்ட இவர்கள் அடுத்த 6 மாதத்துக்குள் சட்டசபைக்கு தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்படவேண்டும் என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தகுந்தது.

சென்னை மக்களுக்கு முதல் சுரங்க மெட்ரோ ரெயில் பயணம் ‘திகில்’ அனுபவமாக அமைந்தது. குடும்பத்தோடு மகிழ்ச்சி ஆரவாரம் செய்தனர். முதல் நாளில் இலவசமாக ரெயிலில் பயணம் செய்ய அவர்கள் அனுமதிக்கப்பட்டனர்.

சென்னை,

திருமங்கலம் – நேரு பூங்கா இடையே சுரங்கப்பாதையில் மெட்ரோ ரெயில் ஓடப்போகிறது என்று அறிவிப்பு வெளியான போதே, பொதுமக்களிடம் எதிர்பார்ப்பு தொற்றிக்கொண்டது. சுரங்கப்பாதையில் ரெயில் பயணம் என்பது சென்னை மக்களுக்கு புதிய அனுபவமாக இருக்கும் என்பதால், சுரங்க ரெயில் போக்குவரத்து தொடங்கும் நாளை எதிர்பார்த்து பலர் காத்திருந்தனர்.

இந்த எதிர்பார்ப்புக்கு மத்தியில், நேற்று திருமங்கலம் – நேரு பூங்கா இடையே சுரங்கப்பாதையில் மெட்ரோ ரெயில் போக்குவரத்து தொடங்கியது. காலை 11 மணிக்கு திருமங்கலத்தில் இருந்து முதல் ரெயில் நேரு பூங்கா நோக்கி புறப்பட்டது. அதில், மெட்ரோ ரெயில் ஊழியர்களின் குடும்பத்தினரே அதிகம் இருந்தனர். தொடர்ந்து வந்த மெட்ரோ ரெயிலில் முதல்–அமைச்சர் எடப்பாடி பழனிசாமி, மத்திய மந்திரி வெங்கையா நாயுடு உள்பட அமைச்சர்கள், எம்.பி.க்கள், எம்.எல்.ஏ.க்கள் பயணம் செய்தனர்.

மூன்றாவதாக வந்த மெட்ரோ ரெயிலில் பொதுமக்கள் பயணிக்க அனுமதிக்கப்பட்டனர். இதற்காக, திருமங்கலம் ரெயில் நிலையத்திற்கு பலர் குடும்பத்தோடு உற்சாகமாக வந்திருந்தனர். முதல் நாள் பயணம் என்பதால், இலவசமாகவே மெட்ரோ ரெயிலில் பயணிக்க பொதுமக்கள் அனுமதிக்கப்பட்டனர். இதனால், மெட்ரோ ரெயிலில் மகிழ்ச்சி ஆரவாரம் செய்தனர்.

7 நிமிடத்தில் சென்றது


இலவச பயணத்தை கேள்விப்பட்டு, பலர் திருமங்கலம் ரெயில் நிலையத்தை நோக்கி வரத் தொடங்கினார்கள். அதேபோல், தொடர்ந்துள்ள சுரங்க ரெயில் நிலையத்திற்கும் பொதுமக்கள் வந்தனர். ஆனால், திருமங்கலத்தில் புறப்பட்ட மெட்ரோ ரெயில் நேராக நேரு பூங்கா ரெயில் நிலையம் சென்று தான் நின்றது. பின்னர், அங்கிருந்து புறப்பட்ட ரெயிலும் நேராக கோயம்பேடு சென்று தான் நின்றது. இதனால், வழியில் காத்திருந்த பயணிகள் ஏமாற்றம் அடைந்தனர்.

திருமங்கலத்தில் புறப்பட்ட மெட்ரோ ரெயில் 7 நிமிடங்களில் நேரு பூங்காவை சென்றடைந்தது. சுரங்கப்பாதையில் மெட்ரோ ரெயிலில் பயணித்த பொதுமக்களுக்கு இது திகில் அனுபவமாக அமைந்தது.

சுரங்கப்பாதை பயண அனுபவம் குறித்து, மெட்ரோ ரெயிலில் பயணித்த பொதுமக்கள் சிலர் ‘தினத்தந்தி’ நிருபரிடம் கருத்து தெரிவித்தனர். அதன் விவரம் வருமாறு:–

கட்டணம் அதிகம்


காஞ்சீபுரத்தை சேர்ந்த லதா:–

மெட்ரோ ரெயிலில் பயணம் செய்தது இதுதான் முதன் முறை. இதற்காக காஞ்சீபுரத்தில் இருந்து வந்திருக்கிறேன். சுரங்கப்பாதையில் மெட்ரோ ரெயிலில் பயணம் செய்தது, நல்லதொரு அனுபவமாக இருந்தது. மகிழ்ச்சியான பயணமாக அமைந்தது. ஆனால் மெட்ரோ ரெயிலுக்கான கட்டணம்தான் அதிகமாக உள்ளது. இந்த கட்டணத்தை குறைத்தால் நன்றாக இருக்கும். அதிகமானவர்கள் பயன்படுத்துவதற்கு ஏதுவாக இருக்கும்.

ஸ்ரீபெரும்புதூரை சேர்ந்த காயத்ரி:–

சுரங்கப்பாதை வழித்தடத்தில் மெட்ரோ ரெயில் எப்படி செல்கிறது? என்பதை பார்க்கவேண்டும் என்று நீண்ட நாட்களாக மிகவும் ஆவலாக இருந்தேன். இதற்காக ஸ்ரீபெரும்புதூரில் இருந்து குடும்பத்தோடு வந்தோம். என்னுடைய கணவர் தர்மேந்திரன் பணியாற்றும் கம்பெனியில் தான், இதற்கான பெட்டிகள் தயாரிக்கப்பட்டது. சுரங்கப்பாதை ரெயில் பயணம் மிகவும் அருமையாக இருந்தது.

மகிழ்ச்சி


திருவள்ளூர் மாவட்டம் கீழானூரை சேர்ந்த தியாகராஜன்:–

முதல் முறையாக குடும்பத்தோடு மெட்ரோ ரெயிலில் பயணம் செய்தோம். குளுகுளு வசதி, குகைக்குள் செல்வது போன்ற திகிலான உணர்வுடன் மிகவும் திருப்திகரமாக இருந்தது. ஆனால் மெட்ரோ ரெயில் கட்டணம் அதிகமாக இருக்கிறது. கட்டணத்தை குறைத்தால் அதிக பயணிகள் பயணம் செய்வார்கள். ஆகவே கட்டணத்தை குறைப்பதற்கு நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கவேண்டும்.

கீழ்ப்பாக்கத்தை சேர்ந்த நிர்மலா:–

மெட்ரோ ரெயிலில் ஏறியதும் தெரியவில்லை, இறங்கியதும் தெரியவில்லை. அவ்வளவு சுகமாகவும், மகிழ்ச்சியாகவும் இருந்தது. இதுபோன்ற ஒரு பயணத்தை நான் மேற்கொண்டது இல்லை. ஊட்டி மலை ரெயில் பயணத்தை நினைவுகூரும் வகையில் சுரங்கப்பாதை மெட்ரோ ரெயில் பயணம் அமைந்தது.

திகிலாக இருந்தது


கீழ்ப்பாக்கத்தை சேர்ந்த மற்றொரு பயணி வானதி:–

மெட்ரோ ரெயில் சுரங்கப்பாதையில் செல்லும் அழகே சிறப்புதான். சுரங்கப்பாதையின் உள்ளே செல்லும்போதும், அதில் இருந்து வெளியே வரும்போதும் பிரமிப்பாக உள்ளது. குடும்பத்தோடு வந்தோம். குழந்தைகளும் மெட்ரோ ரெயில் பயணத்தை குதூகலத்துடன் கொண்டாடினார்கள். மிகவும் மகிழ்ச்சியான அனுபவமாக இருந்தது.

அண்ணாநகரை சேர்ந்த பிளஸ்–2 மாணவி பிரதிஷா:–

சுரங்கப்பாதையில் மெட்ரோ ரெயில் பயணம் செய்யவேண்டும் என்ற ஆவலுடன் குடும்பத்தோடு சென்றோம். அதன்படி ரெயில் பயணம் மிகவும் திகிலானதாக இருந்தது. முழுவதும் குளுகுளு வசதிகளுடன் மெட்ரோ ரெயில் மற்றும் ரெயில் நிலையங்கள் அனைத்து வசதிகளுடன் சிறப்பாக உள்ளது.

செல்போன் சிக்னல் இல்லை


அண்ணாநகரை சேர்ந்த மருத்துவ கல்லூரி மாணவி ஐஸ்வர்யா:–

சுரங்கப்பாதையில் மெட்ரோ ரெயில் பயணம் மிகவும் நன்றாக இருந்தது. நீண்ட வருடங்களுக்கு பின்னர் தமிழகத்துக்கு இந்த சிறப்பான சேவை கிடைத்துள்ளது. செல்போனுக்கு சிக்னல் கிடைப்பதில்லை. இதனால் ரெயில் நிலையத்தில் உள்ளே இருந்துகொண்டு யாரையும் தொடர்புகொள்ளமுடியவில்லை. செல்போனுக்கு சிக்னல் கிடைப்பதற்கு நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கவேண்டும். பஸ் கட்டணம் போல் மெட்ரோ ரெயில் கட்டணத்தையும் குறைத்தால் அதிகமானோர் பயணம் செய்வார்கள்.

சைதாப்பேட்டையை சேர்ந்த 12 வயது சிறுமி மதுமித்ரா:–

சுரங்கப்பாதை மெட்ரோ ரெயிலில் மிகுந்த எதிர்பார்ப்புடன் என்னுடைய குடும்பத்தோடு பயணம் செய்தேன். மிகவும் நன்றாக இருந்தது. மெட்ரோ ரெயில் சென்றபோது ஒரே இருட்டாக இருந்தது. ஆனாலும் அதை பார்த்து நான் பயப்படவில்லை. மீண்டும் ஒரு முறை பயணம் செய்யவேண்டும் என்று ஆசையை தூண்டுவதாக உள்ளது. பள்ளிக்கு சென்றதும், என்னுடைய தோழிகளுடன் மெட்ரோ ரெயில் பயண அனுபவம் குறித்து கூறுவேன்.

கொடுங்கையூரை சேர்ந்த ஆர்.எம்.ஹனீபா:–

சுரங்கப்பாதை மெட்ரோ ரெயிலில் பயணம் செய்தது ஒரு புதிய அனுபவம். மெட்ரோ ரெயில் கட்டணம் அதிகமாக இருப்பதால், சாதாரண மக்களால் பயணம் செய்யமுடியாத சூழல் உள்ளது. ஆகவே மெட்ரோ ரெயிலுக்கான கட்டணத்தை குறைக்கவேண்டும். மூத்த குடிமக்களுக்கு சலுகைகளையும் வழங்கவேண்டும். சென்னையை போன்று நெல்லை, திருச்சி, மதுரை, கோவை, சேலம் உள்ளிட்ட பல்வேறு நகரங்களிலும் இந்த சேவை தொடங்க வேண்டும்.

அரசுடன் நடைபெற்ற பேச்சுவார்த்தை தோல்வி; தமிழகம் முழுவதும் பஸ் ஊழியர்கள் வேலைநிறுத்தம்

போக்குவரத்து தொழிலாளர்களுக்கான 13–வது ஓய்வூதிய ஒப்பந்தத்தை ஏற்படுத்த வேண்டும், ஓய்வுபெற்ற தொழிலாளர்களின் நிலுவைத்தொகையை கணக்கிட்டு வழங்க வேண்டும் என்பன உள்ளிட்ட 7 அம்ச கோரிக்கைகளை போக்குவரத்து தொழிலாளர்கள் வற்புறுத்தி வந்தனர்.

சென்னை,

கோரிக்கைகளை வலியுறுத்தி 15–ந் தேதி (இன்று) முதல் வேலைநிறுத்த போராட்டத்தில் ஈடுபடப்போவதாக போக்குவரத்து தொழிலாளர்கள் அறிவித்து இருந்தனர். எனவே இந்த போராட்டத்தை தடுத்து நிறுத்தும் நோக்கத்தில் போக்குவரத்து தொழிற்சங்கங்களுடன் தமிழக அரசு சார்பில் ஏற்கனவே 4 கட்டங்களாக பேச்சுவார்த்தை நடத்தப்பட்டது.

இந்த நிலையில் இறுதிகட்ட பேச்சுவார்த்தை சென்னை பல்லவன் சாலையில் நேற்று மதியம் நடந்தது. இதில் பங்கேற்ற அண்ணா தொழிற்சங்கம், தொ.மு.ச., சி.ஐ.டி.யு., ஏ.ஐ.டி.யு.சி., எச்.எம்.எஸ்., புரட்சியாளர் அம்பேத்கர் தொழிலாளர் விடுதலை முன்னணி உள்ளிட்ட 47 தொழிற்சங்க பிரதிநிதிகளுடன், போக்குவரத்துத்துறை அமைச்சர் எம்.ஆர்.விஜயபாஸ்கர் பேச்சுவார்த்தை நடத்தினார்.

இறுதிகட்ட பேச்சுவார்த்தை
பேச்சுவார்த்தையின்போது, ஏற்கனவே ஒதுக்கப்பட்டிருக்கும் ரூ.750 கோடியுடன் கூடுதலாக ரூ.500 கோடி ஒதுக்க முதல்–அமைச்சர் ஒப்புதல் அளித்திருப்பதாக தொழிற்சங்க பிரதிநிதிகளிடம் அமைச்சர் எம்.ஆர்.விஜயபாஸ்கர் தெரிவித்தார். இதற்கு தொழிற்சங்க பிரதிநிதிகள் கடும் எதிர்ப்பு தெரிவித்தனர்.

இதையடுத்து பேச்சுவார்த்தை நடந்துகொண்டிருக்கும்போதே தொ.மு.ச. தலைமையில் பல்வேறு தொழிற்சங்க பிரதிநிதிகள் பல்லவன் இல்லத்தை விட்டு வெளியேறி, அருகில் உள்ள தொ.மு.ச. அலுவலகத்துக்கு சென்றனர். அவர்களிடம் கேள்வி எழுப்பச்சென்ற நிருபர்களிடம், ‘‘ஏற்கனவே ஒதுக்கப்பட்ட தொகையுடன் ரூ.500 கோடி மட்டுமே கூடுதலாக ஒதுக்க முடியும் என்றும், அதுவும் 3 மாதத்துக்கு பிறகு தான் சாத்தியம் என்றும் அமைச்சர் தெரிவித்தார். இதுகுறித்து நாங்கள் தனியாக பேசவேண்டியது உள்ளது. அதற்காகத்தான் செல்கிறோம். வந்து முடிவை சொல்கிறோம்’’ என்றனர்.

தோல்வியில் முடிந்தது
இதற்கிடையில் பல்லவன் சாலை பனிமனை முன்பு போக்குவரத்து தொழிலாளர்கள் அந்த வழியாக சென்ற பஸ்களை நிறுத்தி கண்ணாடிகளின் மீது ‘நாமம்’ வரைந்தனர். 15–ந் தேதி (இன்று) முதல் பஸ்கள் ஓடாது என்று நோட்டீசும் ஒட்டினர். மேலும் பஸ்களின் டிரைவர்களை நோக்கி, ‘பயணிகளை இறக்கி விட்டு, ‘டெப்போ’வில் பஸ்சை நிறுத்துங்கள்’ என்று கூறிக்கொண்டு இருந்தனர். இதனால் அந்த பகுதியில் பரபரப்பு ஏற்பட்டது.

இந்த சூழ்நிலையில் தொ.மு.ச. அலுவலகத்தில் கூட்டம் முடிந்த பின்னர் தொழிற்சங்க பிரதிநிதிகள் மீண்டும் அமைச்சர் நடத்திய பேச்சுவார்த்தையில் பங்கேற்றனர். மிகவும் எதிர்பார்க்கப்பட்ட இந்த இறுதிகட்ட பேச்சுவார்த்தை தோல்வியில் முடிந்தது.

இதுகுறித்து தொ.மு.ச. பொதுச்செயலாளர் சண்முகம், சி.ஐ.டி.யு. செயலாளர் சவுந்தரராஜன் ஆகியோர் நிருபர்களிடம் கூறியதாவது:–

வேலைநிறுத்தம் உறுதி
கோரிக்கைகள் நிறைவேறாமல் வேலைநிறுத்த அறிவிப்பை கைவிட முடியாது என்று அமைச்சரிடம் திட்டவட்டமாக கூறினோம். அரசு தரப்பில் இதற்கு எந்த பதிலும் வராததால் வேலைநிறுத்தம் திட்டமிட்டபடி நடைபெறும்.

அண்ணா தொழிற்சங்க பேரவை தொழிலாளர்களை வைத்து பஸ்களை இயக்க முடிவு செய்திருக்கிறார்கள். அடுத்த 3 நாட்கள் தொடர்ந்து பஸ்களை இயக்குவோம் என்று டிரைவர்களிடம் கையெழுத்தும் வாங்கி வருகின்றனர். கையெழுத்து போடவில்லை என்றால் இடமாற்றம் செய்வோம் என்று மிரட்டல் விடுத்து வருகின்றனர். இது தொழிலாளர் விரோத நடவடிக்கை.

திட்டமிட்டபடி போராட்டம்

எப்படியும் பஸ்களை இயக்குவது என்று அரசு முடிவு எடுத்திருக்கிறது. அதனை நாங்கள் முறியடிப்போம். திட்டமிட்டபடி வேலை நிறுத்தம் நடக்கும். எந்த பஸ்சும் நாளை (இன்று) முதல் ஓடாது. திட்டமிட்டபடி நள்ளிரவு 12 மணி முதல் போராட்டம் தொடங்கும்.  இவ்வாறு அவர்கள் தெரிவித்தனர்.

பஸ்கள் ஓடாததால் பயணிகள் பாதிப்பு

இதனால் வேலைநிறுத்தம் முன்னதாகவே தொடங்கியது. வேலைநிறுத்த அறிவிப்பு உறுதியானதும் சென்னை நகரில் நேற்று மாலை முதல் பஸ்களின் இயக்கம் பாதியாக குறைந்தது. கோயம்பேடு, பிராட்வே, கிண்டி உள்பட பஸ் நிலையங்களில் உடனடியாக சேவை நிறுத்தப்பட்டது. குறைந்த அளவிலேயே பஸ்கள் இயக்கப்பட்டதால் அவற்றில் பயணிகள் முண்டியடித்து ஏறினர். வெளியூர் செல்லும் பஸ்களில் நேற்று முன்பதிவு செய்திருந்தோருக்காக மட்டும் பஸ்கள் இயக்கப்பட்டன. இன்று முதல் வெளியூர் பஸ்களும் இயங்காது என்று அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது.

இதேபோல் மற்ற ஊர்களிலும் நேற்று மாலை முதலே பஸ் போக்குவரத்து பாதிக்கப்பட்டது. பாதிக்கும் மேற்பட்ட பஸ்கள் ஓடவில்லை.

இதுகுறித்து பயணிகள் சிலர் கூறுகையில், ‘‘வேலை நிறுத்தம் நள்ளிரவு 12 மணிக்கு தொடங்கும் என்று தான் அறிவித்திருந்தார்கள். ஆனால் எந்த வித அறிவிப்பும் இல்லாமல் இப்போதே பஸ்களை நிறுத்திவிட்டால் என்ன செய்வது? போராட்டத்தில் ஈடுபடும் பஸ் தொழிலாளர்கள் பயணிகள் கஷ்டத்தை நினைக்கவில்லை. இது ஏற்கவே முடியாத ஒன்று’’ என்றனர்.

ஒரு லட்சம் போலீசார்
பஸ் ஊழியர்கள் போராட்டத்தை தொடர்ந்து சட்டம்–ஒழுங்கு பிரச்சினை ஏற்படாமல் தடுப்பதற்காக தமிழகம் முழுவதும் போலீசார் உஷார்படுத்தப்பட்டு உள்ளனர். நேற்று மாலையில் இருந்தே ஒரு லட்சம் போலீசார் பாதுகாப்புக்காக தமிழகம் முழுவதும் குவிக்கப்பட்டனர்.

சென்னையில் 18 ஆயிரம் போலீசார் நேற்று மாலையில் இருந்து பாதுகாப்பு பணியில் ஈடுபடுத்தப்பட்டனர். மேலும் ஊர்க்காவல் படையினரும், ஆயுதப்படை போலீசாரும் பாதுகாப்பு பணிக்காக வரவழைக்கப்பட்டனர்.

சென்னையில் 32 பஸ் பணிமனைகள் உள்ளன. இந்த பணிமனைகளில் நேற்று மாலையிலேயே பஸ்களை நிறுத்திவிட்டு ஊழியர்கள் போராட்டத்தை தொடங்கிவிட்டனர். இதனால் பஸ் பணிமனைகளிலும், பஸ் நிலையங்களிலும் போலீசார் பாதுகாப்புக்காக குவிக்கப்பட்டனர்.

கைது நடவடிக்கை
பஸ் ஊழியர்கள் போராட்டத்தின்போது மறியல் செய்தல், பஸ்கள் மீது கல்வீசி தாக்குதல், வேலை செய்யும் ஊழியர்களை தடுத்தல் போன்ற அசம்பாவித சம்பவங்களில் ஈடுபடும் ஊழியர்கள் உடனடியாக கைது செய்யப்படுவார்கள் என்று உயர் போலீஸ் அதிகாரிகள் தெரிவித்தனர்.

சென்னை உள்பட தமிழகம் முழுவதும் போலீஸ் ரோந்து பணி தீவிரப்படுத்துப்பட்டு உள்ளது என்றும் உயர் போலீஸ் அதிகாரிகள் கூறினார்கள். பொதுமக்களுக்கு பாதிப்பு இல்லாமல், பாதுகாப்போடு பஸ்களை இயக்க தமிழக அரசின் சார்பில் நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்பட்டு உள்ளது.
