நீட்' தேர்வுக்கு, விதிவிலக்கு இல்லை,

'நீட் தேர்விலிருந்து, தமிழகத்துக்கு விலக்கு அளிக்கும்படி, தமிழகம் வைத்த கோரிக்கையை ஏற்க இயலாது' என, மத்திய அரசு கூறிவிட்டதாக தெரிய வந்துள்ளது.



மருத்துவப் படிப்புக்கான சேர்க்கைக்கு, நாடு முழுவதும், ஒரே மாதிரியான, 'நீட்' எனப்படும், நுழைவுத் தேர்வை நடைமுறைப்படுத்துவதில், மத்திய அரசு தீவிரமாக உள்ளது.இந்த நீட் தேர்வின் காரணமாக, கிராமப்புற மாணவர்கள், பெரிதும் பாதிக்கப்படுவர் என, தமிழக அரசு கூறிவந்த நிலையில், இதிலிருந்து விலக்கு பெறுவதற்கானநடவடிக்கைகளில் இறங்கியது.

இது குறித்து, இரு மசோதாக்களை, சட்டசபையில் நிறைவேற்றி, தமிழகத்துக்கு மட்டும் விதி விலக்கு அளிக்க வேண்டுமென்ப தில், தீவிரம் காட்டியதோடு, பிரதமர் மற்றும் மத்திய அமைச்சர்களிடம், நேரிலும், கடிதம் மூலமும் வலியுறுத்தப்பட்டு வந்தது. இந் நிலையில், நீட் தேர்வு நெருங்கிவிட்டதால், இவ்விஷயம் குறித்து, மத்திய அரசிடம்
வலியுறுத்துவதற்காக, தமிழக சுகாதாரத் துறை அமைச்சர்விஜயபாஸ்கர், நேற்று டில்லிக்கு வந்திருந்தார்.

மத்திய சுகாதாரத் துறை அமைச்சர்,ஜே.பி. நட்டாவை, பார்லி., வளாக அலுவலகத்தில், காலை சந்தித்து பேசினார். அந்த சந்திப்பின் போது, தமிழகத்துக்கு மட்டும் விதி விலக்கு அளிக்கும்படி வலியுறுத்தப் பட்டது.

ஆனாலும், 'இவ்விஷயத்தில், நாடு முழுவதும் ஒரே மாதிரியாக மேற்கொள்ளப்படும் அணுகுமுறையில், மாற்றம் செய்வது முடியாதகாரியம். தமிழக அரசின் மசோதாக்க ளுக்கு, சட்ட வடிவமும் இல்லாத நிலையில், விதி விலக்கு அளிக்க இயலாது' என, அமைச்சர் நட்டா கூறிவிட்டதாக தெரிகிறது.

103 மையங்களில் தேர்வு

'நாடு முழுவதும், இந்த ஆண்டு, 103 மையங் களில், 'நீட்' தேர்வு நடத்தப்படும்' என, மத்திய மனிதவள மேம்பாட்டு துறை அமைச்சர் பிரகாஷ் ஜாவடேகர் அறிவித்துள்ளார். டில்லியில், நிருபர்களிடம், அமைச்சர் பிரகாஷ் ஜாவடேகர் கூறியதாவது:

மருத்துவப் படிப்புக்காக, தேசிய அளவில், சி.பி.எஸ்.இ.,யால் நடத்தப்படும் நீட் நுழைவுத் தேர்வுக்கு, மாணவர்கள் பெருமளவில் ஆதரவு தெரிவித்து வருகின்றனர். இந்த ஆண்டு, 12 லட்சம் மாணவர்கள் எழுதுவர் என, எதிர்பார்க் கப்படுகிறது. அதனால், தேர்வு மையங்களின் எண்ணிக்கையையும் அதிகரித்துள்ளோம்.

கடந்த ஆண்டு, 80 மையங்களில் தேர்வு நடத் தப்பட்டது. இந்த ஆண்டு, 103 மையங்களில் நீட் தேர்வு நடத்தப்படும். தேர்வு மையங்களை மாணவர்கள் எளிதில் அறிய, 'மொபைல் ஆப்' அறிமுகப்படுத்தப்பட்டு உள்ளது. இவ்வாறு அவர் கூறினார். மருத்துவக் கல்வியில் சேருவதற்கான, நீட் தேர்வுக்கு விலக்கு கிடைக் குமா என்பதற்காக காத்திருக்காமல், மாணவர் கள் தேர்வுக்கு தங்களை தயார்படுத் திக் கொள்ள வேண்டும்.

* ஜெயலலிதா உடலை சென்னை மெரினாவில் அடக்கம்செய்ய யாரிடம், எப்படி அனுமதி பெறப்பட்டது என்று துரைசாமி கேள்வி எழுப்பி உள்ளார். அதற்கு, பொதுத் தகவல் அதிகாரி, ’ஜெயலலிதாவின் உடலை மெரினா கடற்கரையில் அடக்கம்செய்ய, தமிழ் வளர்ச்சி மற்றும் செய்தித்துறைச் செயலாளர் கடந்த டிசம்பர் 6-ம் தேதி கோரிக்கை விடுத்தார். சென்னை மாநகராட்சி சட்டம், பிரிவு 319(3) அடிப்படையில் அதற்கு அனுமதி வழங்கப்பட்டது’ என்று பதில் அளித்துள்ளார்.

* ஊழல் வழக்கில் ஜெயலலிதா தண்டிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதால், மெரினா கடற்கரையில் இருந்து அவரின் உடலை அப்புறப்படுத்தும் திட்டம் ஏதாவது உள்ளதா? என்று துரைசாமி கேள்வி எழுப்பியுள்ளார். அதற்கு, மாநகராட்சியின் பொதுத் தகவல் அதிகாரி, ’பொருத்தமற்ற கேள்வி’, என்று சொல்லி, பதிலளிக்க மறுத்துவிட்டார்!

டெல்லி விமானத்தில் பயணம் செய்த போது பணியாளரை செருப்பால் அடித்த சிவசேனா எம்.பி. விமானங்களில் செல்ல தடை விதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.




மகாராஷ்டிரா மாநிலம் ஒஸ்மானாபாத் தொகுதி எம்.பி., ரவிந்திர கெயிக்வாட் புனேயிலிருந்து டெல்லிக்கு ஏர் இந்தியா விமானத்தில் சென்றார். அப்போது பிஸினஸ் க்ளாஸில் இருக்கை பதிவு செய்திருந்த சிவசேனா எம்பிக்கு, எக்னாமிக் பிரிவில் இருக்கை ஒதுக்கீடு செய்யப்பட்டதாக கூறப்படுகிறது.

இதனால் ஆத்திரமடைந்த ரவிந்திர கெயிக்வாட், ஏர் இந்தியா ஊழியர்களுடன் கடும் வாக்குவாதத்தில் ஈடுபட்டார். அப்போது பணியில் இருந்த சீனியர் மேனேஜர் சுகுமாரை செருப்பால் அடித்ததால் பரபரப்பு ஏற்பட்டது. 

இதுதொடர்பாக, செய்தியாளர்களிடம் பேசிய சுகுமார், சிவசேனா எம்.பி தகாத வார்த்தைகளால் திட்டி தம்மை செருப்பால் அடித்ததுடன், கண் கண்ணாடியையும் உடைத்து விட்டதாக வேதனை தெரிவித்தார். இவர் போன்றவர்களிடம் இருந்து இந்தியாவை கடவுள் தான் காப்பாற்ற வேண்டும் எனவும் சுகுமார் வேதனை தெரிவித்தார். இந்த சம்பவம் தொடர்பாக ஏர் இந்தியா அளித்த புகாரின் மீது போலீசார் எப்ஐஆர் பதிவு செய்துள்ளனர். 

இந்த சம்பவம் குறித்து செய்தியாளர்களிடம் பேசிய கெயிக்வாட், ஏர் இந்தியா ஊழியர் தம்மிடம் தவறாக நடந்து கொண்டதால் 25 முறை செருப்பால் அடித்ததாக பெருமிதம் தெரிவித்தார். மேலும் தான், சிவசேனா எம்.பி., என்றும், பா.ஜ.,வை சேர்ந்தவன் அல்ல என்றும் எள்ளி நகையாடினார். 

இந்த சம்பவம் குறித்து கருத்து தெரிவித்த மத்திய விமானப் போக்குவரத்து துறை அமைச்சர் அசோக் கஜபதி, இதுபோன்ற சம்பவங்களை எந்த கட்சியும் ஆதரிக்கக்கூடாது என்றும், இந்த சம்பவங்கள் மீண்டும் நடைபெறக்கூடாது எனவும் அறிவுறுத்தினார். 

இந்த சம்பவத்திற்கு பாஜக, காங்கிரஸ் உட்பட பல்வேறு அரசியல் கட்சிகள் கடும் கண்டனம் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர். இந்த சம்பவம் குறித்து உரிய விளக்கம் அளிக்கும்படி சிவசேனா எம்.பி.,ரவிந்திர கெயிக்வாட்க்கு அக்கட்சி தலைமை உத்தரவிட்டுள்ளது.

இதனிடையே, விமானப் பயணியை தாக்கிய சிவசேனா எம்.பி.யை தங்களது நிறுவன விமானங்களில் ஏற்ற மாட்டோம் என விமான நிறுவனங்களின் கூட்டமைப்பு தெரிவித்துள்ளது. மேலும் அவரது பெயரை கருப்பு பட்டியலில் சேர்த்துள்ளதாகவும் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

தெரிவித்துள்ளார். நாமக்கல், நெல்லை, வேலூர் ஆகிய 3 இடங்களில் புதிதாக நீட் தேர்வு நடைபெறும் என்று ஜவடேகர் தனது ட்விட்டர் பக்கத்தில் தெரிவித்துள்ளார். ஏற்கனவே சென்னை, கோவை, மதுரை, திருச்சி, சேலத்தில் நீட் தேர்வு நடைபெற்றது. இந்தியா முழுவதும் 80 நகரங்களில் நீட் தேர்வு நடைபெற்று வருகிறது.

Common counselling for PG medical courses from this year

State Assembly adopts Bill

Karnataka will have a common counselling system for postgraduate medical and dental courses from this academic year unlike the present practice of multiple counselling by government, private and deemed universities. The State Assembly on Thursday adopted the Karnataka Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission and Determination of Fee) (Amendment) Bill.

Piloting the Bill, Medical Education Minister Sharanprakash R. Patil said there will be common counselling by the government, COMEDK and deemed universities to prevent inconvenience to students. The Bill also seeks to earmark 30% of seats in unaided minorities’ colleges for students from Karnataka. In addition to this, consultations were being held with deemed universities to get 25% concessional seats for students of the State, he noted. Responding to a demand by members to reserve postgraduate medical seats for only students from Karnataka, Mr. Patil said the Supreme Court had earlier struck down such a move. However, he would hold consultations again with legal experts to see if it could be implemented.

The Assembly also adopted the Karnataka Labour Welfare Fund (Amendment) Bill which seeks to increase the rate of contribution of employees, employers and government to the labour welfare fund. The House also approved a Bill seeking to increase the retirement age of the V-C of Karnataka Sanskrit University from 65 to 67 years.

St. John’s academy director apologises to HC

Promises to remove ‘objectionable’ notice from institute’s website immediately

The Director of St. John’s National Academy of Health Sciences, Fr. Paul V. Parathazham, on Thursday submitted an unconditional apology to the Karnataka High Court for publishing an ‘objectionable’ notice with regard to admission to post-graduate medical courses on the institute’s website.

The academy assured the court that the ‘objectionable’ notice would be withdrawn immediately.

A submission in this regard was made by a senior counsel representing the academy before a Division Bench comprising Justice Jayant M. Patel and Justice N.K. Suhindrarao during the hearing of a petition filed by Rachana Kishore Ubrangala, an MBBS graduate, questioning the selection process.

‘Expecting favourable verdict’

In the notice dated March 19, the director had stated that the academy is approaching the High Court to have ‘St. John’s PG admissions 2017-18 declared valid on several legal grounds’ in response to a March 11 letter from the Directorate of Medical Education that the process was ‘invalid’ for violating norms. The director had stated in the notice that ‘St. John’s is confident of getting a favourable verdict from the High Court validating its PG admissions for 2017-18’.

On March 22, the Bench had termed the contents as ‘prima facie objectionable’ and had directed the director to personally appear in court on Thursday.

As Mr. Paul appeared in court and tendered an unconditional apology, the Bench said that it does not propose any further action in this regard at this stage.

The Bench, which had stayed the admission process for PG medical courses on March 21, adjourned further hearing till April 3, as the senior counsel for the academy said that the selection process of minority medical educational institutions based on NEET ranking is coming up before the apex court on March 24.

MLA seeks extension of medical college on old hospital premises

Pichandi supports demand of youth for opening extension of medical college

K. Pichandi, former minister and Keel Pennathur MLA, has demanded that the Government Tiruvannamalai Medical College start an extension hospital on the old premises of the government hospital.

Mr. Pichandi’s demand assumes significance in the wake of campaign by youth for a hospital on the old premises of the government hospital.

The youth have announced a plan to stage a protest on Friday. The MLA raised the issue recently on the floor of the Legislative Assembly.

Mr. Pichandi told The Hindu that instead of demanding a taluk hospital on the old premises, people need to demand that the Government Tiruvannamalai Medical College open an extension on the premises of the old government hospital.

“The Tiruvannamalai Medical College situated on the outer ring road away from the town has a 500-bed hospital there. But it is not sufficient to accommodate all the patients come there. Because of insufficient space, several patients are accommodated on the floor. Whereas, the old premises has sufficient space to accommodate another 500 beds. By making use of the building to run its hospital’s extension or branch, the college can ease itself from the congestion on the main premises. Non-critical patients shall be shifted to the extension.

“The college should maintain a set of doctors to look after inpatients and cases of emergencies come from the town and adjacent villages. By doing so, people can make use of good number of doctors available in the college and college can make use of infrastructure that is lying idle.

Water scarcity

“The medical college is facing a severe water shortage while the water supply is excellent in the old hospital premises. Therefore, it will be a win-win situation for all. Hence government should consider the idea seriously and a hospital should start running shortly on the old government hospital premises both in the interest of patients, public and the institute,” he said.
