கல்லூரிகளுக்கும் வெள்ளிக்கிழமை விடுமுறை: தமிழக அரசு உத்தரவு

பொங்கல் பண்டிகையை சிறப்பாக கொண்டாடும் வகையில் வரும் 12-ம் தேதி பள்ளிகளுக்கு விடுமுறை விடப்பட்டதை தொடர்ந்து கல்லூரிகளுக்கும் விடுமுறை அளிப்பதாக அரசு அறிவித்துள்ளது.

பொங்கல் பண்டிகை வரும் 13-ம் தேதி சனிக்கிழமை தொடங்குகிறது. 13-ம் தேதி போகியும், 14-ம் தேதி பொங்கலும், 15-ம் தேதி மாட்டுப்பொங்கலும், 16-ம் தேதி காணும் பொங்கலும் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. 13-ம் தேதி போகிப்பண்டிகை சனிக்கிழமை வருகிறது. அதையடுத்து ஞாயிறு, திங்கள், செவ்வாய் என பண்டிகை வருகிறது.

இந்நிலையில் தமிழக அரசு ஒரு ஆணையை வெளியிட்டுள்ளது. ஆளுநர் ஆணையின் படி முதன்மைச்செயலர் சுனில் பாலீவால் பிறப்பித்துள்ள உத்தரவில் கூறியிருப்பதாவது:
''தமிழர் திருநாளாம் பொங்கல் பண்டிகையை நம் மாநிலம் முழுதும் சீரிய முறையில் கொண்டாடும் பொருட்டும் குறிப்பாக கல்லூரி மற்றும் பல்கலை கழகங்களில் பயிலும் மாணவச்செல்வங்கள் அவர்களது இளவயது கொண்டே தமிழர் கலாச்சாரத்தையும், பாரம்பரியத்தையும் பேணிக்காக்கும் பொருட்டும், அவர்களது பெற்றோர் மற்றும் சுற்றத்துடன் இணைந்து உவப்புடன் களித்திடும் பொருட்டு.தமிழகத்தில் உள்ள உயர் கல்வித்துறையின் கீழ் இயங்கும் அனைத்து கல்லூரிகளுக்கும் பல்கலைக்கழகங்களுக்கும், பல்கலைகழகங்களுக்கு கீழ் இயங்கும் உறுப்புக்கல்லூரிகளுக்கும் சிறப்பு நிகழ்வாக வருகிற 12.01.18 வெள்ளிக்கிழமை அன்று விடுமுறை அளித்து அரசு ஆணையிடுகிறது'' என்று குறிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.
இதையடுத்து 12-ம் தேதி முதல் 17-ம் தேதி வரை கல்லூரிகளுக்கு விடுமுறை  விடப்படுகிறது.

எம்.எல்.ஏ.,க்களின் மாத சம்பளத்தை, 55 ஆயிரம் ரூபாயில் இருந்து, 1.05 லட்சம் ரூபாயாக உயர்த்தி வழங்குவதற்கான, சட்ட மசோதாவை, துணை முதல்வர் பன்னீர்செல்வம், நேற்று சட்டசபையில் தாக்கல் செய்தார். இதனால், கொதிப்படைந்துள்ள மக்கள், 'எம்.எல்.ஏ.,க்களுக்கு சம்பள உயர்வு அவசியமா; இதற்கு மட்டும், நிதி நெருக்கடி இல்லையா' என, கேள்வி எழுப்பி உள்ளனர். இந்த சம்பள உயர்வை, ஏற்கனவே முதல்வர் அறிவித்த அன்று, தி.மு.க.,வரவேற்றது; இன்று எதிர்ப்பு நாடகமாடுவதாக, சபாநாயகர் தனபால் கிண்டல் அடித்தார்.




சட்டசபையில், நேற்று தாக்கல் செய்யப்பட்ட, எம்.எல்.ஏ., சம்பள உயர்வு மசோதாவில்கூறப்பட்டுள்ளதாவது: எம்.எல்.ஏ.,க்களின் மாதாந்திர சம்பளம், 8,000 ரூபாயில் இருந்து, 30 ஆயிரம் ரூபாயாக உயர்த்தி வழங்கப்படும். எம்.எல்.ஏ.,க்களுக்கு வழங்கப்படும் ஈட்டுப்படி, 7,000 ரூபாயில் இருந்து, 10 ஆயிரமாகவும்; டெலிபோன் படி, 5,000 இருந்து, 7,500 ரூபாயாகவும்...

தொகுதிப்படி, 10 ஆயிரத்தில் இருந்து, 25 ஆயிரமாகவும்; தொகுப்புப்படி, 2,500 ரூபாயில் இருந்து, 5,000 ரூபாயாகவும்; வாகனப் படி, 20 ஆயிரம் ரூபாயில் இருந்து, 25 ஆயிரம் ரூபாயாகவும் உயர்த்தி வழங்கப்படும்.தற்போது வழங்கப்படும் அஞ்சல் படி, 2,500 ரூபாயாக, தொடர்ந்து வழங்கப்படும். இதன்மூலம், தற்போது எம்.எல்.ஏ.,க்கள், சம்பளம் மற்றும் இதர படிகள் சேர்த்து, மாதம் தோறும், 55 ஆயிரம் ரூபாய் பெறுகின்றனர். இம்மாதம் முதல், 1.05 லட்சம் ரூபாய் பெறுவர்.

ஈட்டுப்படி

அமைச்சர்கள், சபாநாயகர்ஆகியோருக்கு, ஈட்டுப்படி, 15 ஆயிரம் ரூபாயாகவும், சில்லரை செலவினப்படி, 10 ஆயிரம் ரூபாயாகவும், தொகுதிப்படி, 25 ஆயிரம் ரூபாயாகவும், உயர்த்தி வழங்கப்படும். துணை சபாநாயகர், எதிர்க்கட்சித் தலைவர், அரசு தலைமைக் கொறடா ஆகியோருக்கு வழங்கப்படும் ஈட்டுப்படி, 15 ஆயிரம் ரூபாயாகவும், சில்லரை செலவினப்படி, 7,500 ரூபாயாகவும், தொகுதிப்படி, 25 ஆயிரம் ரூபாயாகவும், உயர்த்தி வழங்கப்படும்.

ஓய்வுபெற்ற எம்.எல்.ஏ.,க்களுக்கு, மாத ஓய்வூதியம், 12 ஆயிரத்தில் இருந்து, 20 ஆயிரம் ரூபாயாக உயர்த்தி வழங்கப்படும்.குடும்ப ஓய்வூதியம், 10 ஆயிரம் ரூபாயாக, உயர்த்தி வழங்கப்படும்.


முன்னாள், எம்.எல்.ஏ.,க்களின் மருத்துவ சிகிச்சை தொகை, ஆண்டுக்கு, 12 ஆயிரம் ரூபாயில் இருந்து, 25 ஆயிரம் ரூபாயாக உயர்த்தி வழங்கப்படும். இவ்வாறு மசோதாவில் கூறப்பட்டு உள்ளது.

அறிவித்தார்

'உயர்த்தப்பட்ட சம்பளம்,ஓய்வூதியம் மற்றும் இதர படிகள், 2016 ஜூலை, 1 முதல்வழங்கப்படும்' என, 2017 ஜூலை மாதம், சட்டசபையில் முதல்வர் பழனிசாமி அறிவித்திருந்தார். அதன்படி, சம்பள உயர்வு வழங்குவதற்காக, சட்டசபையில், நேற்று சட்ட மசோதாவை, துணை முதல்வர் பன்னீர்செல்வம் தாக்கல் செய்தார்.

'தேர்தலில், வாக்காளர்களுக்கு பணத்தை வாரி இறைத்து, வெற்றி பெறுவோருக்கு, அரசாங்க சம்பளம் எதற்கு' என்றும், 'சம்பளமே அனாவசியம் என்கிறபோது, இரு மடங்கு உயர்வு என்பது அநியாயம்' என்றும், சமூக வலைதளங்களில், அரசுக்கு எதிராக, ஆவேச கருத்துக்கள் பதிவிடப்பட்டு வருகின்றன.

CBSE, ICSE board exam dates released

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct board examinations for the students of Class X and XII from March 3.

While the board examinations for the Class X students of the CBSE schools will end on April 4, the board examinations for the students of Class XII will conclude on April 12.

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) will conduct the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) examinations for the students of Class X from February 26 to March 28.

The Indian School Certificate (ISC) examinations for the Class XII students will be held from February 7 to April 2.

Both the boards, however, did not announce the date of declaration of the results.

Here are the date sheets for Class X and Class XII CBSE and ICSE examinations:

Class X CBSE board examinations will begin on March 3 with 12 electives and vocational subjects including Information Communication Technology as well as Beauty and Wellness. Examinations for Science theory paper will be held on March 16, Social Sciences March 22, Mathematics March 28.

Exams for 33 various language papers, both Indian and foreign, including Kannada will be held on March 20. English language and literature paper will be held on March 12, Hindi Course-A and Hindi Course B on March 6 and Home science on March 24. The exams will conclude with Painting paper on April 4.

CBSE's class XII board examinations will begin with English elective and English Core on March 5. Physics will be held on March 7, Chemistry March 13, Biotechnology March 17, Mathematics March 21, Computer Science on March 23 and Biology on March 27.

Cost Accounting paper will be on March 8, Business Studies March 9, Accountancy March 15 and Economics March 26. Examinations for History will be held on March 20, Philosophy March 27, Psychology April 5, Political Science April 6 and Sociology on April 10. The exams will conclude with Home Science paper on April 12.

The CISCE will start ICSE examinations for Class X students with English language paper on February 26. Exams for Mathematics will be held on February 27, Physics on March 16, Chemistry March 19, Biology on March 26. History and Civics will be on March 7, Geography March 12, Economics March 21 and Environmental Science on March 28.

The ISC examinations for Class XII students will begin with practicals for Physics paper on February 7, followed by Computer science practicals on February 8, Chemsitry practicals on February 9 and Biology practicals on February 13. The ISC examinations for theory paper of Physics will be held on February 20, computer Science February 23, Mathematics February 26, Chemistry March 5 and Biotechnology on March 14.

Accounts paper will be held on February 15, Sociology February 21, Political Science March 6, Geography March 9, Commerce March 12, History March 26, Business Studies March 28 and Psychology April 2.

Pass marks

For ICSE examination, the pass mark would be 33%, instead of the present 35%. For ISC examination, the pass mark would be 35% instead of the present 40%. "Changes in pass marks for ICSE and the ISC examinations will be effective from the examination year 2018 onwards, not from 2019," CISCE chief executive and secretary Gerry Arathoon said.

Madras HC plea: Drive buses in public interest

Chennai: The Madras high court has left it to the conscience of the various trade unions of state transport corporations to decide as to whether they could ply the buses from tomorrow for five days in view of Pongal festival in the interest of the public.

A division bench comprising Justices S. Manikumar and M. Govindaraj asked the counsels appearing for the trade unions to inform their decision to the court on Thursday. The bench posted to January 11, further hearing of a batch of petitions relating to strike by STC workers.

Earlier, after hearing marathon arguments from senior counsel V. Prakash and advocate N.G.R. Prasad and Advocate general Vijay Narayan from 2.15 pm, the bench made a proposal that the government could implement the 2.44 percent wage hike as agreed upon by the government already immediately and on such implementation, the transport workers could resume their work from today itself.

The disputes relating to 0.13 percent further wage hike and other issues could be heard later on the merits, the bench added.

Private bus operators hike fares by 150 per cent

Chennai: The private bus operators are cashing in on transport staff. A travel agent at Koyambedu said operators have hiked the fares by at least 150 per cent in the last two days, as special reservation counters for the government-run buses remain shut. “Though the fares of south-bound buses skyrocketed, they are being sold like hotcakes.”

Meanwhile, a private bus operator maintained, “There are days when we operate services to Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram with just 10 and 15 passengers and the remaining seats go unfilled. It is the festival season such as Christmas, Pongal and Deepavali that we get a major share of passengers. According to the demand we have decided on a minimal increase on each ticket.”

Transport minister M.R.Vijayabhaskar announced that more than 27,000 special buses would ply this Pongal and 29 special counters at Koyambedu, Tambaram Sanatorium and Poonamalle to cater to the additional rush. However, counters equipped with computers and ticket-printing machines, last week wore a deserted look and people have resorted to private buses.

“Though priced high, there is at least assurance that the bus would definitely operate. In the current situation, booking a government bus ticket can prove tricky,” said P. Shruthi, a resident of Egmore.

LPF, CITU don’t budge

Chennai: With the transport unions refusing to call off the indefinite strike till government holds talks again, keeping in abeyance the settlements signed by 34 small unions agreeing to the 2.44 per cent wage hike, the statewide transport strike continued for the seventh consecutive day.

“There is a negligible amount of workforce in the 34 unions. If the court agrees to carry on discussions again tomorrow to negotiate the wage hike, we are ready to be back on the roads the same day to cater to the additional rush owing to Pongal,” said R.Vasudevan from the CITU (Centre of Indian Trade Unions). A.Sundarrajan from CITU said that government had not made any announcements on the `5,000 crore debited from the salaries of current workers and not remitted towards social security schemes.

The stir has severely affected commuters across the state. Though government has roped in temporary workers, passengers in the suburbs with no metro rail and suburban train connectivity are put to hardship.

The strike was declared on Thursday last after negotiations by staff unions with the state transport department demanding wage revision failed.

The striking employees have been insisting for a pay scale revision to Rs 30,000. However, the authorities have agreed in principle to pay only Rs. 24,400, which the employees feel is a great injustice to workers who deal with severe traffic and stress on a daily basis. Dues to be paid to transport employees including retirement and provident fund dues stand at Rs. 7,543 crore.
