Steps to get certificates attested through e-Sanad portal simplified

The process for virtually applying and obtaining attestation of certificates and apostilles by Indian citizens for their documents through e-Sanad portal has been simplified, a senior official of the Union Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said in Chennai on Friday.

Under the simplified process, the documents need not go to New Delhi for processing.

Addressing a press conference, the MEA’s Head of Branch Secretariat in Chennai, S. Vijayakumar, said more universities and educational institutions in Tamil Nadu have been integrated into e-Sanad and the process of attestation/apostille of E-Sanad-uploaded documents has been launched in Chennai since the first week of September.

Profile registration

Once the applicant creates a profile in https://esanad.nic.in/register, uploads documents and makes the payment through Bharatkosh, the document issuing authority (university/educational institution) verifies the authenticity.

The attestation is then verified by the General Administrative Department of the State government after which it goes to the MEA for issuing digital attestation. “Within seven working days of receiving the application from the State government, we will dispatch the document to the applicant by speed post,” Mr. Vijayakumar said.

Status tracking

The applicant could track the status online. The simplified process would help Indians looking for foreign employment, Indians residing abroad and Indian nationals going abroad for studies.

The simplified process would help them in the attestation of personal, educational and commercial documents through e-Sanad portal.

Around 300 applications have been successfully processed since the launch of the integration of e-Sanad was rolled out in the first week of September in Chennai, Mr. Vijayakumar said.

அண்மையில் பேருந்து பயணத்தின் போது, உரையாடல் ஒன்றைக் கேட்க நேர்ந்தது. பேருந்தின் இரைச்சலையும் மீறி எதிர்முனையில் பேசுவோருக்கு கேட்க வேண்டும் என்ற நோக்குடன் இந்த உரையாடல் நிகழ்த்தப்பட்டது. அதனால், பின்னிருக்கையில் அமர்ந்திருந்தவர்கள் அனைவருக்கும் கேட்டது அந்த உரையாடல்-

இவ்வாறு நிறைவு பெற்றது. "காலையிலே 10 மணிக்கெல்லாம் போயிடாதே; அவங்க எல்லாம் வர்றதுக்கு 11 மணியாகிவிடும்'. அரசு அலுவலக அதிகாரி ஒருவரைச் சந்திக்க வேண்டிய தேவையின் அடிப்படையில் கேட்கப்பட்ட ஆலோசனை என்பதும் புரிந்தது. 10 மணிக்கு இன்று வரவேண்டிய அதிகாரி 11 மணிக்கு ஏன் வருகிறார் என்றோ, இதே அதிகாரி நேற்று வீட்டுக்கு எத்தனை மணிக்கு திரும்பச் சென்று சேர்ந்தார் என்பதை யாரும் பேசப்போவதில்லை. அதில் அவர்களுக்கு அக்கறையும் இருக்கப் போவதில்லை.

அதுபோல், வீட்டுக்குச் சென்ற பிறகும் தனது வாட்ஸ் ஆப், மின்னஞ்சல் மூலம் வந்த எத்தனை செய்திகளை அவர் பார்த்துப் பதிலளித்திருப்பார். காலையில் எழுந்த நேரம் முதலே மெய்நிகர் வழியாக (வர்ச்சுவல்) அலுவலகம் வந்துவிட்டிருப்பார் என்பதையும் யோசிக்க வாய்ப்பில்லை. இதுபோலவே அலுவலக நேரத்திலும் சொந்தப் பணிகள் இதே பாணியில் குறுக்கிடுவதும் தவிர்க்க இயலாததே.

விதிவிலக்காக நேர்த்தியாக பணிகளைத் திட்டமிடும் அதிகாரிகளும் பணியாளர்களும் இல்லாமல் இல்லை. ஆனால், பெரும்பான்மை நேர்வுகளின் அடிப்படையில் இந்தக் கருத்தோட்டம் குறித்து அலசி ஆராய்வது அவசியமாகிறது.

சென்னை போன்ற பெருநகரங்களில் நெரிசலான சாலைகளில் பயணிப்போர் நிலையைக் கவனித்துப் பார்த்தால் போக்குவரத்து என்பது எவ்வளவு சவாலானது என்பது விளங்கும். இதுபோன்ற நகரங்களில் மிகவும் துல்லியமாகத் திட்டமிட்டால் தவிர அலுவலகங்களுக்கு நேரத்துக்குச் செல்ல இயலாது. அதுபோலவே மீண்டும் வீட்டுக்குச் சென்ற பிறகு முழுமையாக அலுவலகப் பணிகளை மறந்திருக்கும் வாய்ப்பும் இல்லை.

ஒருகாலத்தில் வார இறுதி நாள்களில் கோப்புகளைக் கொண்டு சென்றனர். இப்போது ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் ஒவ்வொரு நிமிஷமும் கோப்புகளுடனேயே அலைகின்றனர். ஆனால், பணிகளின் முன்னேற்றம் என்பது கேள்விக்குறியே.

கரோனா பெருந்தொற்றுக்குப் பிறகு, பல்வேறு அலுவலகப் பணிகளும் பெருமளவில் எண்மமயமாகி விட்டது.

இதனால், பொதுமக்கள் இருந்த இடத்திலேயே அனைத்து விதமான சேவைகளுக்கும் விண்ணப்பிக்க முடிகிறது. இந்த எண்ம நிர்வாகம் மிகவும் வரவேற்புக்குரியது.

பொதுமக்கள் தங்கள் உரிமைகளை எவ்விதப் பாகுபாடுமின்றி பெற வழிவகை செய்யும் அரிய வாய்ப்பை அளிப்பது; அனைத்து விதமான தரவுகளையும் விரல் நுனியில் வைத்துக்கொள்ள உதவுவது; சரியான தரவுகளின் மூலம்தான் அரசோ, தனியார் நிறுவனம் ஒன்றோ நேர்த்தியாக திட்டம் வகுக்க இயலும் என்பதும் மறுக்க முடியாது. ஆனால், இவ்வாறு அனைத்து அலுவல்களும் எண்மமயமாவதால் அலுவலகப் பணியாளர்களின் வாழ்வு எந்தக் கதியாகிறது என்பதையும் கவனத்தில் கொள்ள வேண்டும்.

முந்தைய காலங்களைப்போல் 10 முதல் 5 மணிவரைதான் அலுவலகப் பணி என்றால் எந்த அலுவலகங்களும் இன்று செயல்பட இயலாது. நாட்டின் மக்கள்தொகைப் பெருக்கமும், சேவைகளின் தேவை அதிகரிப்பும் வேலைநேர அதிகரிப்பைக் கூட்டியுள்ளது. சேவைகள் தேவை அதிகரிப்பை ஈடுகட்டும் அளவிலான பணியாளர்களும் அலுவலகங்களில் இல்லை.

ஆனால், அதே நேரம் பணிகளின் முன்னேற்றம் தொடர்பான அறிக்கைகளை ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் எடுத்துவிட இயல்கிறது. இதை அடிப்படையாக வைத்து ஒவ்வோர் உயர் அதிகாரியும் அடுத்தகட்ட பணியாளர்களை மீளாய்வு செய்வதும் நடைபெறுகிறது.

சரி என்னதான் செய்யலாம்? பணிகள் நடைபெற வேண்டாமா? முன்னேற்றம் வேண்டாமா? என்று கேட்பது புரிகிறது. எல்லாவற்றுக்கும் ஒழுங்கு இருப்பதுபோல் மின்னணு யுகத்தில் மனிதர்கள் பணி செய்வதிலும் ஒருவகை ஒழுங்கு என்பது தேவையாகிறது. வேறு வகையில் கூறுவதானால் வாழும் வகையில் ஒழுங்கு.

இந்த ஒழுங்கே உடல் நலனிலும் ஒழுங்கை நிர்வகிக்க உதவும். அவ்வாறான உடல்நல ஒழுங்கே பணித் திறனையும் அதிகரிக்கும். பணித் திறன் அதிகரிப்பே நாட்டின் மனிதவளத்தைக் கூட்டி மொத்த உள்நாட்டு உற்பத்தியை அதிகரித்து நாட்டின் உயர்வை உறுதிசெய்யும்.

எண்ம நிர்வாகத்தோடு பணியாளர்களின் உடலோம்பல் நிர்வாகத்துக்கும் இன்றைய நிர்வாகத்தினர் முக்கியத்துவம் அளிக்க வேண்டும். பல நிறுவனங்கள் உடலோம்பலை அலுவலகத்திலேயே மேற்கொள்ளும் வகையில், அங்கு ஓர் அறையில் உடற்பயிற்சிக் கூடங்கள்கூட அமைத்துக்கொடுக்க முன்வந்துள்ளன. இது ஒரு வகையில் பார்த்தால் ஆரோக்கியமான போக்குதான்.

அதேநேரம் பணியாளரின் தனிப்பட்ட வாழ்வு மேம்பாட்டில் சவால்களைக் குறைக்கும் விதமாக நிர்வாகங்கள் செயல்பட வேண்டும். பணியாளர்கள் உரிய நேரத்துக்கு வீட்டுக்குச் சென்று குடும்பத்தினருடன் நேரம் செலவிடுவதையும் உறுதி செய்யவேண்டும்.

நிர்வாகத்தின் அனைத்து நிலையில் இருப்போரும் ஒருவிதமான ஒழுங்குக்கு வரவேண்டிய தேவை அதிகரித்துள்ளது. எல்லா நேரமும் எல்லோரும் எல்லாப் பணிகளையும் செய்துகொண்டிருப்பதைவிட குறிப்பிட்ட நேரத்தில் மட்டும் மிகவும் கவனத்தோடும், நேர்த்தியோடும் அமர்ந்து திட்டமிட வேண்டும். அந்தப் பணிகளின் நிறைவை குறிப்பிட்ட காலவரையறை வைத்துக்கொண்டு மட்டும் மீளாய்வு செய்ய வேண்டும்.

இவ்வாறான நேர்த்தியை கடைநிலை அலுவலகம் வரை கொண்டு சென்று, அந்த அலுவலர்களும் அலுவலகப் பணியாளர்களும் இந்த நேர்த்திக்குள் வருவதை உறுதி செய்ய வேண்டும். அவ்வாறு செய்யாமல் அடுத்தடுத்து திட்டமிட்டு எல்லா நேரமும் எல்லோரும் பணி செய்துகொண்டேயிருப்பது போன்ற மாயை ஏற்படுத்துவது தனி மனிதர்களுக்கும், அலுவலக நடைமுறைகளுக்கும், நாட்டின் முன்னேற்றத்துக்கும் நல்லதல்ல.

ஒருவகையில் செடியை பூமியில் நட்டுவிட்டு ஒவ்வோர் நாளும் அதன் வேரைப் பிடுங்கி, அதன் வளர்ச்சியின் அளவை அளப்பது போன்ற செயல்பாடாகவே அமையும்.

Chennai : Madras high court has directed the director general of health services and the medical counselling committee to conduct additional mopup counselling for NEET-SS 2024-25 to include the unfilled super-specialty seats in Tamil Nadu and complete the process within four weeks. 

Justice G K Ilanthiriayan issued the order following a plea by three PG doctors who wanted to pursue super-specialty courses of their choice but were denied due to the nonconduct of mop-up counselling. Representing the petitioners, senior advocate P H Arvindh Pandian submitted that the failure of the counselling committee to conduct mop-up counselling for NEET-SS 202425 has left a large number of super-specialty seats vacant, despite there being willing, eligible, and meritorious candidates available to fill them. 

The denial of a mop-up counselling round results in the arbitrary and unjustified non-utilization of valuable public and private medical education resources, particularly in high-demand specialties and prestigious institutions like the Madras Medical College, Stanley Medical College, and Madurai Medical College.

 “The authorities are under a statutory and administrative obligation under the PG Medical Education (Amendment) Regulations, 2019, to conduct counselling for all super specialty seats in a manner that ensures maximum seat utilization. The current approach defeats this objective,” he added.

Chennai : Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar (SSN) College of Engineering in Chennai, one of the top engineering colleges in the state, has applied for progressive closure from the next academic year (2026-27). The premier college will be merged with Shiv Nadar University Chennai, which is functioning on the adjacent campus, in a phased manner. Shiv Nadar University Chennai will conduct admissions to B Tech and M Tech programmes from the next academic year. 

Students aspiring to join the institution will need to take an entrance exam and clear an interview to gain admission. As of now, SSN College of Engineering is an autonomous college under Anna University and fills 65% of its seats through online counselling, which is based on Class XII marks in mathematics, chemistry, and physics. These students pay ₹55,000 as tuition fees for govt quota seats. 

“During the 2025-26 academic year, the college enrolled around 900 students in the first year. These students will graduate from Anna University after studying for the next four years,” a source from Anna University said. 

SSN College of Engineering was established by Shiv Nadar, founder and chairman emeritus of HCL Technologies in 1996. It rose to prominence with state-ofthe-art facilities on its 230acre campus on the Old Mamallapuram Road in Kalavakkam. It is also known to offer quality engineering education, and placing more than 95% of its students in top companies during campus placements. Officials from Anna University confirmed to TOI that the university received the application for progressive closure from SSN College of Engineering from next academic year. 

“The university will give permission for closure after getting a no-objection certificate from the state govt,” an official said. Shiv Nadar University Chennai, which started four years ago, offers courses in engineering, economics, and other disciplines. “We wanted to merge Shiv Nadar University and SSN College of Engineering to have one worldclass institution offering multidisciplinary programmes,” a spokesperson for SSN Institutions said. “This college will be called SSN School of Engineering under Shiv Nadar University. 

The mode of admissions will change, and the admission process and fee structure will be in line with Shiv Nadar University,” the spokesperson added. The tuition fees for BTech programmes at Shiv Nadar University is ₹3.5 lakh.

IndiGo Airlines (6E)

will launch direct international flights from Mumbai (BOM) to Copenhagen (CPH) starting October 8, 2025. The route marks the airline’s first entry into Scandinavia, expanding its European network and improving access for Indian travelers.

The service will operate three times weekly using a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, leased on a wet lease from.

IndiGo New International Flights

The Mumbai to Copenhagen route provides a non-stop connection between India’s financial hub and Denmark’s capital city.

Flights will depart Mumbai at 04:35 IST and arrive in Copenhagen at 10:05 local time. Return flights are scheduled to depart at 12:30 and land in Mumbai just past midnight.

Chief Executive Officer Pieter Elbers highlighted that this marks IndiGo’s 44th international destination. With Copenhagen as a new hub, the airline now serves 138 destinations worldwide.

The route also positions Denmark as a gateway to the Nordic region, improving travel links between India and Scandinavia.
