The provisional rank list of health service quota candidates, who have qualified in the entrance examination for admission to postgraduate medical course 2015 conducted on February 8, has been revised. The initial list was published on March 18 with the particulars furnished by the Director of Health Services (DHS). The revised list was necessitated following a new list of health service quota candidates submitted by the DHS, with the revised service particulars, by including the weightage of difficult rural service in years. The revised list has been published after awarding due weightage to the candidates for their service rendered in difficult rural areas at the rate of 10 per cent of marks obtained for each year of service in difficult rural areas, up to a maximum of 30 per cent of the marks obtained in the PG medical entrance examination. Internship on passport services

The Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi, offers non-stipend internship programme to graduate students of any discipline to experience e-governance, citizen centricity and service orientation.

The duration of the internship beginning on June 8, will be four to eight weeks at any of the 81 Passport Seva Kendras (PSKs) and 37 Regional Passport Offices (RPOs) across the country. Certificate from the Ministry of External Affairs will be issued on completion of internship.

Criteria for selection, modalities and locations of PSKs/ RPOs are available at www.passportindia.gov.in.

A chance to intern at Passport Seva Kendras

Madurai Regional Passport Office will offer an internship programme for graduates on the functioning of its Passport Seva Kendras in Madurai and Tirunelveli from June 8.

“Graduates who complete the internship programme, lasting for four to eight weeks, would get a certificate issued by the Ministry of External Affairs,” said Regional Passport Officer S. Maniswara Raja.

Talking to reporters here on Thursday, Mr. Raja said that graduates of any stream were eligible for the programme.

“Around 30 to 35 interns would be taken for the first batch starting June 8. Their filled-in application (available on website) should reach us by June 6,” he said.

The certificate would be a credit for the youths seeking jobs.

The Ministry would not pay any stipend to the interns and not promise any jobs in the Ministry, Mr. Raja added.

The interns could also learn the benefits of e-governance implemented in the PSKs for processing of passport applications.

Awareness

“These trained youths can spread awareness of the right way of getting passports in the locality, and hence the misdeeds of the middlemen can be brought down,” Mr. Raja said.

Based on the response from the graduates, the number of batches could be increased in the future, he added.

The applicants for the internship programme need to produce a conduct certificate from their colleges.

Post-Pahal, sale of commercial LPG cylinders soars

With lakhs of consumers switching over to the Pahal scheme, the sale of commercial LPG cylinders has gone up by 15 per cent in the past few months. In Chennai region, 3.80 lakh cylinders are being supplied a month, against 3.30 lakh cylinders, oil industry sources say.

Under the Pahal scheme, the subsidy amount is being directly sent to bank accounts of LPG consumers. “Earlier, a lot of diversion of cylinders was happening in the supply chain. Cylinders were being sold at Rs. 800- Rs. 900. But now that cannot be done as the consumer is aware and demands the subsidy amount. So, there is a corresponding increase in the usage of commercial 19-kilogramme cylinders that cost Rs. 1,320. Such cylinders are available over the counter as is the case with domestic connections,” the source explains.

Slow movement

However, there has not been any increase in the sale of 5-kg cylinders.

Each month, around 3,500 cylinders are being lifted mostly by small vendors and families that utilise very limited quantities of LPG.

16 lakh yet to join scheme

Of the 1.54 crore customers in the State, only 16 lakh are yet to join Pahal.

“Many are in the process of joining but there have been hitches. Some numbers have been rejected and for a few more, the subsidy amount has been sent to accounts of other persons by mistake. Consumers have time till June end to enrol. Oil companies should ensure that the process is smooth,” said consumer activist T. Sadagopan.

Centre notifies simpler income tax forms

The Union Finance Ministry on Sunday came out with a simplified income-tax return (ITR) form, replacing the controversial 14-page form that had sought information on foreign trips and dormant bank accounts.

The last date for filing returns has been extended till August 31 against the normal practice of July 31, as the software for these forms is under preparation.

In forms ITR-2 and ITR-2A, the main form will not contain more than three pages, and other information will be captured in the schedules that are required to be filled only if applicable.

Form ITR-2 is needed to be filled by individuals and Hindu Undivided Families (HUF) having income from more than one house property and capital gains.

Observing that majority of individuals/HUFs who file Form ITR-2 do not have capital gains, the government has introduced new form ITR-2A for individuals who have income from more than one residential property but no capital gains from them.

சொத்து குவிப்பு வழக்கில் இருந்து தமிழக முதல்-அமைச்சர் ஜெயலலிதாவை விடுதலை செய்து கர்நாடக ஐகோர்ட்டு கடந்த மாதம் 11-ந் தேதி தீர்ப்பு வழங்கியது. இந்த தீர்ப்பை எதிர்த்து மேல்முறையீடு செய்ய வேண்டும் என்று கர்நாடக அட்வகேட் ஜெனரல் ரவிவர்ம குமார், அரசு சிறப்பு வக்கீல் ஆச்சார்யா ஆகியோர் மட்டுமின்றி தமிழக எதிர்க்கட்சிகளும் வற்புறுத்தி வருகின்றன. அதே நேரத்தில் மேல்முறையீடு செய்யக்கூடாது என்று கர்நாடக காங்கிரஸ் கட்சியின் சட்டத்துறை மற்றும் மந்திரிகள் சிலரும் கூறி வருகிறார்கள்.

இந்த நிலையில் கர்நாடக அரசு சட்டத்துறையின் ஆலோசனையை கேட்டுள்ளது. சட்டத்துறை அதிகாரிகள் ஐகோர்ட்டு வழங்கிய தீர்ப்பை தீவிரமாக ஆய்வு செய்து வருகிறார்கள். மேல்முறையீடு செய்வது குறித்து இன்னும் 3, 4 நாட்களில் முடிவு எடுக்கப்படும் என்று சட்டத்துறை மந்திரி ஜெயச்சந்திரா நேற்று முன்தினம் கூறினார்.

அதில், ‘‘வருமானவரி கணக்கு தாக்கல் செய்வதற்கான 3 பக்கங்கள் கொண்ட புதிய படிவத்தை நிதி அமைச்சகம் அறிமுகம் செய்து இருக்கிறது. இந்த படிவத்தில் வருமானவரி செலுத்துபவரின் வெளிநாட்டு பயணத்தை பொறுத்தவரை பாஸ்போர்ட் எண்ணை மட்டும் குறிப்பிட்டால் போதும். வெளிநாட்டு பயணங்கள் தொடர்பான தகவல்களையோ, அதற்காக செலவு செய்த தொகையையோ இணைக்கத் தேவையில்லை. வங்கி கணக்கை பொறுத்தவரை செயல்பாட்டில் உள்ள நடப்பு மற்றும் சேமிப்பு வங்கி கணக்குகளை மட்டுமே தெரிவிக்கும்படி கேட்டுக் கொள்ளப்பட்டு இருக்கிறது’’ என்று கூறப்பட்டு உள்ளது.

இது குறித்து மத்திய நிதி அமைச்சகம் தனது அறிக்கையில், ‘‘புதிய படிவங்களை உருவாக்குவதற்கான மென்பொருள் தயாரிப்பு பணி நடந்து வருகிறது. இவை ஜூன் மாத 3–வது வாரத்தில்தான் இணையதளம் மூலம் தாக்கல் செய்வதற்கு தயாராகும். எனவே வருமானவரி கணக்கை தாக்கல் செய்வதற்கான கால அவகாசம் ஆகஸ்டு மாதம் 31–ந்தேதி வரை நீட்டிக்கப்படுகிறது’’ எனக் கூறி உள்ளது.

ரூ.55 கோடி மின்சார கட்டணம்: அதிர்ச்சி அடைந்த குடும்பத்தினர்!

ராஞ்சி: ஜார்க்கண்ட் மின்சார வாரியம் ஒருவருக்கு ரூ.55 கோடி மின்சார கட்டணம் செலுத்த வேண்டும் என்று கூறியதை அறிந்த அந்த குடும்பத்தினர் அதிர்ச்சி அடைந்து உள்ளனர்.

ஜார்க்கண்ட் மாநிலம் ராஞ்சியைச் சேர்ந்தவர் கிருஷ்ண பிரசாத். இவர் தனது குடும்பத்துடன் திருமண விழாவிற்கு சென்று விட்டு வீடு திரும்பி உள்ளார். அப்போது, அவருக்கு ஷாக் அடிக்கும் செய்தி ஒன்று காத்திருந்தது. அது, ரூ.55 கோடி மின்சார கட்டணம் செலுத்த வேண்டும் என்று மின்வாரிய அலுவலகத்திலிருந்து அவருக்கு பில் அனுப்பப்பட்டது. அதை கேள்விப்பட்டதும் கிருஷ்ண பிரசாத்தின் தாயாருக்கு உடல் நலம் பாதிக்க சிகிச்சைக்காக உடனே மருத்துவமனையில் அனுமதித்து இருக்கிறார்.

ராஞ்சியில் உள்ள கத்ரு பகுதியில், இரண்டு படுக்கை அறை கொண்ட வீட்டில் பிரசாத் குடும்பத்தினருடன் வசித்து வருகின்றனர். அங்கு கடுமையான வெயில் வாட்டி வதைத்து வரும் நிலையிலும், அவர் வீட்டில் ஏ.சி.யைக்கூட பயன்படுத்தியதே இல்லை. அதுமட்டுமின்றி அங்கு 7 முதல் 8 மணி நேரம் மின்சாரம் நிறுத்தம் செய்யப்படுகிறதாம். இந்த நிலையில், அவரது வீட்டிற்கு ரூ.55 கோடிக்கு மின்சார பில் அனுப்பப்பட்டுள்ளது.

இது குறித்து கிருஷ்ண பிரசாத் கூறுகையில், ''இதனால் என்னுடைய தாயாரின் உயிருக்குகூட ஆபத்து வரலாம். தவறு செய்தவர்களை நான் நீதிமன்றத்திற்கு இழுப்பேன். இது தொடர்பாக நீதிமன்றத்தில் வழக்கு தொடர உள்ளேன்" என்றார்.

இச்சம்பவத்தை அடுத்து ஜார்க்கண்ட் மின்சார வாரியம், இரண்டு ஊழியர்களை உடனடியாக சஸ்பெண்ட் செய்துள்ளது. மேலும், கிளரிக்கல் தவறு காரணமாக இது நடைபெற்று உள்ளது என்று தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டு உள்ளதுடன், இது தொடர்பாக மின்வாரியம் விசாரணைக்கு உத்தரவிட்டு உள்ளது.
