அரசு ஓய்வூதியருக்கு அடையாள அட்டை 40 சதவீத பணி நிறைவு

ராமநாதபுரம் மாவட்டத்தில், ஓய்வூதியர்களுக்கு அடையாள அட்டை வழங்குவதற்கான  40 சதவீத பணிகள் நிறைவடைந்துள்ளன.

தமிழகத்தில் 3.50 லட்சம் ஓய்வுபெற்ற அரசு ஊழியர்கள் உள்ளனர். இவர்களுக்கு ஒய்வூதியம் பெறுவதற்கான புத்தகம் வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. தற்போது இவை மின்னணு மயமாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இதனால் ஓய்வூதியர்களுக்கு சிரமங்களின்றி ஓய்வூதியம் கிடைக்க வழி செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது.

இந்நிலையில் அரசு ஊழியர்களுக்கு அடையாள அட்டை வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளதுபோல், ஓய்வூதியர்களுக்கும் அரசு முத்திரையுடன் கூடிய, புகைப்பட அடையாள அட்டை வழங்க நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

நாடு முழுவதும் உள்ள, அரசு மருத்துவ கல்லுாரிகளில், 15 சதவீத எம்.பி.பி.எஸ்., - பி.டி.எஸ்., இடங்கள், அகில இந்திய கவுன்சிலிங் ஒதுக்கீட்டுக்கு செல்கின்றன. தமிழகத்தில் இருந்து, 456 எம்.பி.பி.எஸ்., மற்றும், 30 பி.டி.எஸ்., படிப்புகளுக்கான இடங்கள் ஒதுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.

அதன்படி, நாடு முழுவதும், 4,100 எம்.பி.பி.எஸ்., - பி.டி.எஸ்., படிப்புகளுக்கான இடங்கள், அகில இந்திய கவுன்சிலிங்கில் இடம் பெற்றுள்ளன. இதற்கான முதற்கட்ட கவுன்சிலிங், 13, 14ம் தேதிகளில் நடைபெற்றது. இதில், 4,018 பேர் இடங்கள் பெற்றுள்ளனர். அவர்கள், வரும், 22ம் தேதிக்குள் தேர்ந்தெடுத்த கல்லுாரிகளில் சேர வேண்டும்.

போதையில் மயங்கிய மாணவர்கள்; ஆசிரியர்களே மீட்ட அவலம்!!!

பள்ளி மாணவர்கள் இருவர் பள்ளி நேரத்தில் மது குடித்து  விட்டு போதையில் ரோட்டில் மயங்கி கிடந்தனர். அவர்களை ஆசிரியர்களே மீட்டு வீட்டிற்கு அனுப்பி வைத்த வேதனை சம்பவம் அரங்கேறியுள்ளது.

திருச்சி மாவட்டம் அருகே உள்ள மணப்பாறையில் உள்ள பாரதியார் நகர் பகுதியில் அரசு உதவி பெரும் மேல்நிலைப்பள்ளி ஒன்று இயங்கி வருகிறது. இப்பள்ளியில் ஏராளமான மாணவர்கள் பயன்று வருகின்றனர். இந்நிலையில் இப்பள்ளியை சேர்ந்த மாணவர்கள் இரண்டு பேர் நேற்று பள்ளி நடந்து கொண்டிருக்கும் போதே பள்ளியில் இருந்து வெளியேறி அப்பகுதியில் இருந்த டாஸ்மாக் கடைக்கு சென்று மது வாங்கி குடித்தாக கூறப்படுகிறது.

மாணவர்களுக்கு மது போதை அதிகமாகவே அவர்கள் இருவரும் தள்ளாடியுள்ளனர். மது போதையுடனேயே மீண்டும் பள்ளிக்கு செல்ல முயன்ற இவர்கள் போதை தாங்க முடியாமல் பாரதியார் நகர் பஸ் ஸ்டாப் அருகிலேயே மயக்கம் போட்டு விழுந்துள்ளனர்.

பள்ளி சீருடை அணிந்த மாணவர்கள் இருவர் போதை மயக்கத்தில் பஸ் ஸ்டாப் அருகே விழந்து கிடப்பதை பார்த்த அப்பகுதிமக்கள் பள்ளிக்கு தகவலளித்தனர். இதையடுத்து அங்கு வந்த ஆசிரியர்கள் சிலர் மாணவர்களை மீட்டு அவர்கள் வீட்டிற்கு அனுப்பி வைத்தனர்.

மதுவிற்கு எதிராக பல்வேறு இடங்களில் போராட்டங்களும் பிரச்சாரங்களும்நடந்து வரும் நிலையில் பள்ளி மாணவர்கள் போதைக்கு அடிமையாகி, போதை மயக்கத்தில் ரோட்டிலேயே மயங்கி விழுந்ததை கண்ட பொதுமக்கள் வேதனையடைந்தனர்

A Pollachibased village administrative officer has taken the fight against corruption to a whole new level. The 30-year-old officer has put up a board in her office clearly stating that she does not accept any bribe. The board also gives her phone number, allowing people requiring her help to contact her directly instead of having to go through her junior officers and having to bribe them to get their job done. Though the board was put up three years back, it has recently taken social media by storm.

R Muthumari, who joined the village administrative service in 2012, was initially posted in Kaliapuram, Anamalai Hills, and later moved to Pollachi more than a year later. Recollecting her first tryst with being offered a bribe, she said a rich man wanted her signature to get patta for a specific piece of land. “The man said he was willing to offer me any amount of money to get me to award the pattas for his land. I still remember the strong irritation I felt at that moment,“ she said. “Being offered a bribe irritates me because we are pulled into something wrong that a man or woman is doing,“ she added.

Muthumari, who grew up hating the culture of corruption that has existed in the Indian government and politics, had decided that she would not collect any bribes ever since she wrote the village administrative officer exams. “But I realised that many personal assistants, office assistants and even ward councilors were collecting bribes in my name, promising to get jobs done,“ said Muthumari who often has to issue income certificates, clear address proofs and even sort out civic and revenue issues. “I used to come home tense and irritated at being of fered bribes regularly and also at the knowledge that people under me continued taking bribes in my name, not allowing me to run my administration without corruption,“ she said. “That was when my husband suggested that I put up a board in my office clearly stating that I do not accept bribes, and that this would spread the word in the town.“

The VAO, who hails from an ordinary agrarian family , said it was her older brother who brought her up, often teaching her about old Tamil leaders and politicians.

Madras univ to usher in paperless administration

In an attempt to make its functioning more efficient, University of Madras will soon move to a completely digital framework, vice-chancellor P Duraisamy announced on Saturday at the 159th convocation.“Academic and administrative activities will be made paperless. Postgraduate and Mphil applicants will have processes like fee payments, hall tickets for entrance exam, fee payments digitized...,“ he said.
This change is being brought in line with implementation of the National Academic Depository (NAD) wherein all academic documents like course certifica tes, and diplomas will being made available online for students. Advanced technology will be used and automated administration will be implemented from this year, he said.
A slew of other initiatives, including a portal for Ph D students, were also announced. “We have seen the number of PhD candidates increase. A first of its kind monitoring system will be introduced to check for quality and ensure lack of plagiarism,“ he said. Students and supervisors can also obtain information and keep checks at every stage of the research through the system.
The convocation, where 108 rank holders and 1,046 PhDs were awareded and 1,02,564 received degrees in absentia, was presided by Governor and chancellor C Vidyasagar Rao. Minister for higher education K P Anbalagan and Sunil Paliwal, principal secretary , higher education department were present as guests. Former RBI Governor C Rangarajan, was the chief guest.

Bench Likely To Hear 85% Quota Appeal On Mon

Less than 5% of state board students who cleared the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) in Tamil Nadu will be able to get into one of the 22 government medical colleges this year if 85% of seats are not reserved for state board students.This will be one of the arguments the state health department will put forth on Monday when it is likely to go before a division bench of the Madras high court against the judgment of a single judge bench that quashed its reservation policy . This year, 3 of 10 students from CBSE and other boards will get a seat against 1 in 20 for state board students.
Though the rank list is not yet out, directorate of medical education officials said that more than 1,400 state board students and around 1,000 from CBSE and other boards would secure government college seats. This year, 48% of seats are likely to go to students of CBSE and other boards.
Educationists and legal experts, however, see this as a testimony to the poor quality of education offered under the state board. Medical Council of India (MCI) vice-presi dent Dr Bhirmanandham said, “Students from state board are now paying the price for poor standard of education in the schools. All state board syllabuses were taken into consideration by NEET. CBSE students have been able to crack the examination because they are well trained. Once, the quality of state education improves, more students from the state will compete.“
“Until last year, 2% of seats went to students from other boards. That was fair because it was proportionate to the number of applicants,“ said health minster C Vijaya Baskar. State board students this year were forced to write NEET in which 50% of questions were out of syllabus, he claimed. CBSE students, however, termed the single judge order “social justice“. Subramanian S, a parent, is not sure if his son will make it, but feels it is now a level-playing field.“My son's chances will not be ruined just because he is from CBSE. Like the judge said it would have been a step-motherly treatment if TN reserves seat for state board students,“ he said.
The state selection committee in-charge of MBBS BDS admissions received 50,558 applications, of which 31,323 were for seats in 23 state-run colleges. The remaining 19,235 were for 783 government quota seats in 10 self-financing colleges affil iated to the state university .
The committee, which was to release the rank list on Friday , put it on hold after the government order (GO) on reservation was quashed by the high court. Of the 2,880 seats in government colleges, the state surrendered 435 to the all-India quota. Of the 2,445 seats that are remaining, 74% of the top 300 seats are set to be grabbed by CBSE students. Students in top ranks will spot a seat in the top colleges -Madras Medical College, Stanley Medical College or Kilpauk Medical College in Chennai. “But more state board students are tied with CBSE students in ranks below that. Over all more than 1,400 state board students will get into government medical colleges,“ the official said.
