மருத்துவ இடத்தை கைவிட்டால் ரூ.15 லட்சம் அபராதம்

சென்னை : 'கவுன்சிலிங்கில் பங்கேற்று, முதுநிலை மருத்துவ படிப்புக்கான இடங்களை பெற்றவர்கள், அவற்றை கைவிட்டால், 15 லட்சம் ரூபாய் அபராதம் செலுத்த வேண்டும்' என, மருத்துவ கல்வி இயக்ககம் தெரிவித்துள்ளது.

இது தொடர்பாக,மருத்துவ மாணவர் சேர்க்கை குழு செயலர், செல்வராஜன் வெளியிட்டுள்ள அறிவிப்பு: முதுநிலை மருத்துவ படிப்பில், தமிழக ஒதுக்கீட்டு இடங்களுக்காக மாணவர் சேர்க்கை கவுன்சிலிங், மே, 19 முதல், 23ம் தேதி வரை நடந்தது. கவுன்சிலிங்கில் பங்கேற்று இடங்களை பெற்ற மாணவர்கள், அதில் சேராவிட்டால், இன்றைக்குள், இடத்தை திருப்பிஒப்படைக்க வேண்டும்.

அதைவிடுத்து, எம்.எஸ்., - எம்.டி., போன்ற, முதுநிலை மருத்துவ படிப்பு இடங்களை கைவிடுவோர், 15 லட்சம் ரூபாய்; எம்.டி.எஸ்., மற்றும் டிப்ளமா இடங்களை கைவிடுவோர், 10 லட்சம் ரூபாய் அபராதம் செலுத்த வேண்டும். இடங்களை கைவிடுவோர், அடுத்த கட்ட கவுன்சிலிங்கில்பங்கேற்க முடியாது.

மாநில ஒதுக்கீட்டில் இடம் பெற்று, கல்லுாரியில் சேர்ந்தோர், தனியார் கல்லுாரிகளின் நிர்வாக ஒதுக்கீட்டு இடங்களுக்கான கவுன்சிலிங்கில் பங்கேற்று இடங்களை தேர்வு செய்தால், அவர்கள் ஏற்கனவே பெற்ற, அரசு ஒதுக்கீட்டு இடங்கள் தானாகவே ரத்தாகி விடும். அந்த இடம், மீண்டும் கவுன்சிலிங்கில் சேர்க்கப்படும். இவ்வாறு அறிவிப்பில் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது.

கடந்த மார்ச் மாதத்தில் பார்தி ஏர்டெல் நிறுவனத்தின் சந்தை பங்களிப்பு 25.57 சதவிகிதத்திலிருந்து 25.77 சதவிகிதமாக அதிகரித்துள்ளது. இதே போன்று வோடபோன், ஐடியா ஆகிய நிறுவனங்களின் சந்தை பங்களிப்பு முறையே 18.82, 17.85 சதவிகிதமாக வளர்ச்சி கண்டுள்ளது. இது கடந்த ஃபிப்ரவரி மாதத்தில் முறையே 18.76, 17.47 சதவிகிதமாக இருந்தது. ஏர்செல், டாடா டெலி சர்வீசஸ், டெலிநார் இந்தியா மற்றும் ரிலையன்ஸ் கம்யூனிகேசன்ஸ் ஆகிய நிறுவனங்களில் இருந்து வாடிக்கையாளர்கள் வெளியேறி இந்த நிறுவனங்களில் இணைந்ததால், சந்தை பங்களிப்பு அதிகளவில் உயர்ந்துள்ளது.

அதேசமயம், ரிலையன்ஸ் ஜியோ கடந்த மார்ச் மாதத்தில் அதிகபட்சமாக 94.30 லட்சம் வாடிக்கையாளர்களை இணைத்து கொண்டுள்ளது. இதன் மூலம் இந்நிறுவனத்தின் சந்தை பங்களிப்பு 13.08 சதவிகிதத்திலிருந்து 15.76 சதவிகிதமாக அதிகரித்துள்ளது. பார்தி ஏர்டெல், வோடபோன், ஐடியா ஆகிய நிறுவனங்கள் 84 லட்சம்,56.30 லட்சம், 90.10 லட்சம் வாடிக்கையாளர்கள் சேர்ந்துள்ளனர்.

பார்தி ஏர்டெல் நிறுவனம் 30.41 கோடி வாடிக்கையாளர்களுடன் முதலிடத்தில் உள்ளது. ஜியோ 18.65 கோடி வாடிக்கையாளர்களுடன் இருக்கிறது. வோடபோன் 22.26 கோடி வாடிக்கையாளர்களுடன் இரண்டாம் இடத்தில் இருக்கிறது. ஐடியா நிறுவனம் 21.12 கோடி வாடிக்கையாளர்களுடன் 3ம் இடத்தை தக்க வைத்து கொண்டுள்ளது. பி.எஸ்.என்.எல். 25.60 லட்சம் வாடிக்கையாளர்களை கொண்டுள்ளது. இதனால், இந்நிறுவனத்தின் சந்தை பங்களிப்பு 9.43 சதவிகிதத்திலிருந்து 9.44 சதவிகிதமாக வளர்ச்சி கண்டுள்ளது.

ஏர்செல் மற்றும் டெலிநார், டாடா டெலி சர்வீசஸ் ஆகிய நிறுவனங்கள் முறையே 47.70 லட்சம், 20 .49 லட்சம், 10.30 லட்சம் வாடிக்கையாளர்களை இழந்துள்ளன. பார்தி ஏர்டெல் டெலிநார் இந்தியா நிறுவனத்தை கையகப்படுத்தி உள்ளது. மேலும், டாடா டெலி சர்வீசஸ் நிறுவனத்தையும் வாங்க திட்டமிட்டுள்ளது.

BENGALURU: Bangalore University has got relief from University Grants Commission (UGC) to offer distance education programmes as the UGC has agreed to revise its guideline which insisted universities have 3.26 National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) score.

As per the decision taken by UGC after its recent meeting with all stakeholders, the guideline has been revised and now all universities need A grade from NAAC to offer distance education courses.Speaking to TNIE, Prof B C Mylarappa, director, Distance Education Department at Bangalore University, said, "Now we have no restriction and as we have A grade from NAAC. We are allowed to invite applications for admissions to both UG and PG courses for 2018-19 academic year shortly." A few months ago, BU was facing the threat of its distance education programmes getting disaffiliated as UGC issued revised guidelines. As per those guidelines, varsities which have 3.26 score from NAAC were allowed to offer distance courses. BU had a score of 3.16.

"We explained the scenario to the UGC chairperson and requested them to make it NAAC grading instead of scoring. After a discussion, they agreed and now it is NAAC 'A' grade," Mylarappa said.BU was restrained from offering distance education programmes for 2105-16 which was retrospective from 2013-14 and 2014-15 academic years. However, the permission from UGC has been given to make admissions for 2016-17 and 2017-18 academic year. BU is all set to admit students for the 2018-19 academic year and the notification will be issued in next three days.

This has come too late for most parents as admissions for 2018-19 are over

With less than a week left for the 2018-19 academic year to begin, the Department of Primary and Secondary Education has revised the minimum age for students to be admitted to class 1.

An order issued by the department on Wednesday states that the minimum age requirement for class 1 admission has been brought down from 5 years 10 months to 5 years 5 months.

This move has been opposed by various stakeholders, including private schools and parents whose children are seeking admissions under the RTE quota. Most schools have already completed the process with only parents whose children were aged between 5 years 10 months and 6 years 10 months allowed to apply.

Parents argue that their children have missed a year as the order has come too late.

Rama S., a domestic worker whose daughter is 5 years 8 months, said she was not allowed to apply for admission to class 1 under the RTE quota because of the minimum age requirement. “This is too late and unfair for people like us. Will the department now redo the RTE admission process so that parents like me are allowed to apply for our children?”

Sources in the department said that the order was issued at the last minute so that enrolment in government schools increases. Officials also pointed out that many nursery schools admit children before they turn 3 years 10 months, and these children would not have crossed 5 years 10 months before commencement of the academic year.

Private school managements, too, have criticised the move. D. Shashi Kumar, general secretary of the association, said the department keeps modifying the rules each year causing long-term impact and confusion in the admission process.
