சென்னை : ''காசிக்கு சென்று இறைவனை காண்பதை விட, ஏழைகளுக்கு உதவுவதே இறை தொண்டு,'' என, நடிகர் ரஜினி பேசினார்.



வெளிநாட்டு பல்கலையில், டாக்டர் பட்டம் பெற்ற, புதிய நீதிக்கட்சி தலைவர், ஏ.சி.சண்முகத்திற்கு, சென்னையில், தனியார் அமைப்பு சார்பில், நேற்று பாராட்டு விழா நடந்தது.

தமிழகத்தில் விற்கப்படும் மீன்களில் ரசாயன பொருள் சேர்க்கப்படவில்லை. இது திட்டமிட்டு பரப்பப்பட்ட வதந்தி என அமைச்சர் ஜெயக்குமார் கூறினார்.

மீன் வளர்ப்பின் முக்கியத்துவத்தை எடுத்துரைப்பதுடன், மீன் வளர்ப்போரை ஊக்குவிக்கவும், உள்நாட்டு மீன் உற்பத்தியை அதிகரிக்கவும் மத்திய அரசு 2001–ம் ஆண்டு அறிவித்தப்படி, ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் ஜூலை 10–ந்தேதி தேசிய மீன் வளர்ப்போர் தினமாக கடைப்பிடிக்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது.

அந்தவகையில் சென்னை நந்தனத்தில் உள்ள மீன்வளத்துறை அலுவலகத்தில் நடந்த விழாவுக்கு கால்நடை பராமரிப்பு, பால்வளம் மற்றும் மீன்வளத்துறை அரசு முதன்மை செயலாளர் டாக்டர் கோபால் தலைமை தாங்கினார். மீன்வளத்துறை இயக்குனர் டாக்டர் சமீரன் முன்னிலை வகித்தார்.

கூட்டத்தில், சிறந்த மீன் வளர்ப்போருக்கான விருதை மதுரையை சேர்ந்த அழகுரவி, சிறந்த முறையில் கடலில் மிதவை கூண்டுகளில் மீன் வளர்ப்போரில் கோவளத்தை சேர்ந்த மீனவர் குழு முதல் பரிசும், ராமநாதபுரம் மாவட்டம் தங்கச்சி மடத்தை சேர்ந்த மீனவர்கள் எபி, ஹெஸ்டர் ஆகியோர் 2–வது பரிசும், அதே பகுதியை சேர்ந்த டேனியல், சூசைசத்தியகுரு ஆகியோர் 3–வது பரிசும் பெற்றனர். இவர்களுக்கு அமைச்சர் ஜெயக்குமார் பரிசுகளை வழங்கினார்.

அத்துடன் 2017–2018–ம் ஆண்டு மீன் குஞ்சு வளர்க்க 100 சதவீதம் இலக்கை எட்டியதற்காக பணியாளர்களுக்கு பாராட்டு சான்றிதழ் வழங்கப்பட்டது.

தொடர்ந்து அமைச்சர் தலைமையில் உள்நாட்டு மீனவர்களுக்கான குறைதீர்க்கும் கூட்டம் நடந்தது. இதில் மின்சார கட்டண சலுகை, மீன்பண்ணை அமைக்க அனுமதி மற்றும் மானியம், மீன்களுக்கான உணவுகளை கிடைக்க வழி செய்வது, மீன் அங்காடிகள் அமைப்பது உள்ளிட்ட கோரிக்கைகள் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டது.

இதுகுறித்து அந்தந்த மாவட்ட கலெக்டர்களுக்கு உரிய உத்தரவை வழங்க அமைச்சர் உத்தரவிட்டார்.

பின்னர் அமைச்சர் ஜெயக்குமார் நிருபர்களிடம் கூறியதாவது:–

சென்னை உள்ளிட்ட தமிழகம் முழுவதும் விற்பனை செய்யப்படும் மீன்களில் ‘பார்மலின்’ என்ற ஒருவகை ரசாயனப்பொருள் சேர்க்கப்பட்டதாக வெளியான தகவல் திட்டமிட்டு பரப்பப்பட்ட வதந்தியாகும். மீன்களில் எந்த ரசாயன பொருளும் சேர்க்கப்படவில்லை.

தமிழகத்துக்கு மொத்த தேவையில் 70 சதவீதம் அளவுக்கு மட்டுமே மீன்கள் பிடிக்கப்படுகின்றன. அவற்றை ரசாயனங்களை பயன்படுத்தி பதப்படுத்தி வைக்க வேண்டும் என்ற அவசியம் கிடையாது. எனவே, பொதுமக்கள் அச்சப்பட வேண்டாம்.

அண்டை மாநிலங்களில் மீன்களில் ரசாயன பொருட்கள் சேர்க்கப்படுவதாக தகவல்கள் வெளியாகி உள்ளன. எனவே, வெளிமாநிலங்களில் இருந்து தமிழகத்தில் எந்தப்பகுதிக்கு மீன்கள் கொண்டு வந்தாலும், அவற்றை கடும் சோதனைக்கு பின்னரே விற்பனை செய்ய அனுமதிக்க வேண்டும் என்று அதிகாரிகளுக்கு உத்தரவு பிறப்பிக்கப்பட்டு உள்ளது. இந்த சோதனையில், மீன்வளத்துறை, உணவு பாதுகாப்பு துறை மற்றும் தமிழ்நாடு டாக்டர் ஜெ.ஜெயலலிதா மீன்வளத்துறை பல்கலைக்கழகம் ஆகிய இணைந்து ஆய்வு மேற்கொள்ளும். இதுதொடர்பாக, மீனவர்கள், பொதுமக்களிடம் விழிப்புணர்வு ஏற்படுத்தப்படும்.

சென்னை மற்றும் புறநகர் பகுதிகளில் பலத்த காற்றுடன் நேற்று மாலை மழை பெய்தது. இதனால் பல இடங்களில் மின்சாரம் துண்டிக்கப்பட்டதால் மக்கள் அவதிக்குள்ளாகினார்கள்.

தமிழகத்தில் வெப்பச்சலனம் காரணமாக பல்வேறு இடங்களில் பரவலாக மழை பெய்து வருகிறது. கடந்த ஜூன் மாதத்தில் இருந்து சென்னையில் பெரிய அளவில் மழை இல்லை.

இந்த நிலையில், வானிலை ஆய்வு மையம் கடந்த 8-ந்தேதி சென்னை மற்றும் புறநகர் பகுதிகளில் இனிவரும் நாட்களில் மாலை அல்லது இரவு நேரங்களில் மிதமான மழை பெய்வதற்கான வாய்ப்பு இருப்பதாக தெரிவித்தது.

அதன்படி, கடந்த 9-ந்தேதியில் இருந்து சென்னை மற்றும் புறநகர் பகுதிகளில் மாலை மற்றும் இரவு நேரங்களில் மழை பெய்து வருகிறது. அந்தவகையில் நேற்றும் சென்னை மற்றும் புறநகர் பகுதிகளில் பலத்த காற்றுடன் பரவலாக நல்ல மழை பெய்தது.

சென்னை எழும்பூர், புரசைவாக்கம், சிந்தாதிரிப்பேட்டை, மெரினா கடற்கரை, சேப்பாக்கம், திருவல்லிக்கேணி, சாந்தோம் நெடுஞ்சாலை, புதுப்பேட்டை, அண்ணாசாலை, ராயப்பேட்டை, சென்டிரல் ரெயில் நிலையம், நுங்கம்பாக்கம், கோடம்பாக்கம், தியாகராயநகர், சைதாப்பேட்டை, கிண்டி, பழவந்தாங்கல் ஆகிய பகுதிகளில் நேற்று மாலையில் மழை பெய்தது.

அதேபோல், கொடுங்கையூர், மாதவரம், பெரம்பூர், செம்பியம், காசிமேடு, திருவொற்றியூர், வண்ணாரப்பேட்டை, ராயபுரம், முகப்பேர், அண்ணாநகர், அம்பத்தூர், வடபழனி, போரூர், திருவேற்காடு, பொன்னேரி, செங்குன்றம், மீஞ்சூர், பழவேற்காடு உள்பட சென்னை மற்றும் புறநகர் பகுதிகளின் பல இடங்களில் பரவலாக மழை பொழிந்தது.

இதில் சில இடங்களில் பலத்த காற்றுடன் மழை பெய்ததால் மின்சார இணைப்பு துண்டிக்கப்பட்டது. மழை காரணமாக ஆங்காங்கே மழை நீரும் தேங்கியது. பல்வேறு இடங்களில் போக்குவரத்து நெரிசலும் ஏற்பட்டது. குறிப்பாக ஜி.எஸ்.டி. சாலை, தண்டையார்ப்பேட்டை, கோயம்பேடு சாலை உள்பட பல பகுதிகளில் வாகனங்கள் ஆமை வேகத்தில் சென்றன.

வாகன ஓட்டிகள் மற்றும் பாதசாரிகள் நனைந்தபடி சென்றதை பார்க்க முடிந்தது. இதனால் பொதுமக்கள் அவதிக்குள்ளாகினார்கள்.

செங்குன்றம் அடுத்த சோத்துப்பாக்கம் பகுதியில் மின்சாரவயர் அறுத்து விழுந்தது. உடனடியாக மின்சார வாரிய ஊழியர்கள் அறுந்து விழுந்த மின்வயர்களை சரி செய்தனர்.

ஆலந்தூர், பரங்கிமலை, மீனம்பாக்கம், ஆதம்பாக்கம், பெருங்குடி, துரைப்பாக்கம், கீழ்கட்டளை, மடிப்பாக்கம் பகுதிகளிலும் பலத்த மழை கொட்டியது. தாம்பரம், குரோம்பேட்டை, பல்லாவரம், பம்மல், அனகாபுத்தூர் பகுதிகளில் 1 மணி நேரத்துக்கு மேலாக மழை பெய்தது.

மழை பெய்ய தொடங்கியதும் சிறிது நேரத்தில் பல இடங்களில் மின்சாரம் துண்டிக்கப்பட்டது. தெருவிளக்குகளும் நிறுத்தப்பட்டதால் மாநகரத்தின் பல பகுதிகள் இருளில் மூழ்கின. மின்சாரம் இல்லாமல் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட பொதுமக்கள் மின்சார வாரிய அலுவலகங்களை தொடர்பு கொண்டு புகார்கள் அளித்தனர்.

இதுகுறித்து மின்சார வாரிய அதிகாரிகள் கூறியதாவது:-

சென்னையில் எதிர்பாராத வகையில் சூறைக்காற்றுடன் மழை பெய்ததால், மின்சாரத்தால் உயிரிழப்பு ஏற்பட்டுவிடாமல் தடுப்பதற்காக முன்னெச்சரிக்கை நடவடிக்கையாக மின்சார வினியோகம் நிறுத்தப்பட்டது. இந்த நடவடிக்கை வழக்கமான நடைமுறை தான். மழை நின்ற பிறகு மின்சார வயர்கள் மற்றும் டிரான்ஸ்பார்மர்கள், இணைப்பு பெட்டிகளில் மரங்கள் விழுந்து எந்தவித பாதிப்பும் ஏற்பட்டதா? என்று ஆய்வு செய்யப்பட்டது.

ஒரு சில இடங்களில் மரங்கள் விழுந்து மின்சார இணைப்புகள் பாதிப்படைந்தன. பாதிப்படையாத பகுதிகளில் விரைவாகவும், பாதிப்படைந்த பகுதிகளில் மின்சார இணைப்புகள் சரி செய்த பின்னரும் மின்சாரம் வினியோகம் செய்யப்பட்டது.

CHENNAI: Even as students celebrate the court’s directive to CBSE to offer grace marks to students who wrote NEET in Tamil, CBSE officials are contemplating appealing further. “We are waiting for a copy of the judgement. After that we will decide, the further course of action,” said Sanyam Bharadwaj, CBSE-NEET director, who in a previous interaction with Express denied any error in Tamil question paper.

About 24,000 students wrote NEET in Tamil, and if all of them are awarded 196 marks as directed by the court, almost all of them will qualify the exam even if they have scored zero in their original evaluation. That is, all students who got more than -77 marks in the general category, and more than -100 marks in the reserved categories will clear the exam.

The NEET cut off this year was 119 for general category students and 96 for SC, ST and OBC students.

Tamil Nadu has 3,328 medical seats in government and private medical colleges under the State quota. Apart from this, there are 516 seats for students under management quota. Over 2,447 students have already been admitted to 22 government medical colleges in the first round of counselling.

“Tamil Nadu government hurried the medical counselling despite the pending case in court. They shouldn’t have rushed into it without considering the seriousness of the case,” said educationalist Prince Gajendrababu.There were 49 translation errors out of 180 questions in the Tamil NEET question paper, pointed Tech4All, a city-based NGO that provides tech solutions for social problems. The questions with errors account for a total of 196 marks.

T K Rangarajan, MP from the Communist Party of India (Marxist) filed a public interest litigation seeking grace marks for all students who wrote NEET in Tamil.However, there is no decision yet if UG medical counselling will be re-conducted, taking these students into account. Engineering admissions too may get delayed if medical counselling gets pushed.

When asked if the medical admission counselling will be conducted again fresh, Health secretary J Radhakrishnan said “We can’t comment on direction to CBSE. Let us wait for CBSE to decide (its) next course.”

Higher education Minister KP Anbalagan on Tuesday said the dates for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions would be declared soon even if there is a delay in medical admissions.Only 1,337 students of the 9,154 (14.6 per cent) students who cleared the exam were from government schools in Tamil Nadu. This judgement may change that percentage drastically.

Fly Emirates, pay less for some UAE tourist visas from July 1

People flying Dubai-based Emirates will now need to pay less for some categories of UAE visas. The visa fee for 30-day validity tourist visa has from July 1 been dropped from previous ₹6,300 to ₹5,230, Dubai Visa Processing Centre (DVPC), an exclusive facility of VFS Global for Emirates and government of Dubai for processing UAE visas, has told Indian travel agents in a circular. The DVPC visa fee for express tourist/ express 14 days and express 96 hours visas have been dropped to ₹6,715 and ₹4,945 from ₹7,775 and ₹6,005 earlier, respectively. Thanking ‘patrons’, DVPC says in the circular: “Over 15 years of your valued partnership with VFS Global’s UAE visa… It’s only your trust in us which has helped us process over 3 million applications since our inception and helped us become experts in UAE visa processing… We extend our happiness to you by revising our prices.”

The move comes less than a month after UAE decided that people flying between India and the rest of the world through its mega hubs like Dubai and Abu Dhabi will be able able to get a free transit visa to spend up to two days there. The UAE government has decided to grant free transit visas for first 48 hours to transit passengers and this visa can be extended for up to 96 hours by paying 50Dirhams(about₹930).However,thedate from which this will be allowed is yet to be announced. Another List Of ‘Institutions Of Eminence’ Likely Soon

Seeking to clear the air over inclusion of the Jio Institute of Reliance Foundation as an institute of eminence, the government said on Tuesday that the institute has been given a letter of intent and will not get the full fledged status till it complies with required regulations in three years.

In the wake of a social media storm over Jio Institute’s selection despite it not being up and running, the government said the University Grants Commission regulations provide for a completely new proposal for greenfield projects and said it is likely to announce another list of “institutions of eminence” soon.

The ministry of human resource development stated that the status has been granted under the “greenfield” category based on the empowered experts committee’s (EEC) recommendation.

But with many established institutions ignored in the list of IoEs announced on Monday while the yet to be launched Jio Institute getting the nod, there was a flurry of adverse commentary. Among political parties, CPM strongly criticised the decision.

A clarification by the HRD ministry said a separate category of applications has been invited from sponsoring organisations for setting up new or greenfield projects according to UGC rules.

According to R Subrahmanyam, secretary, higher education, MHRD, “The regulation of institution of eminence has given three categories – public institutions, institutions which are currently running under which BITS Pilani and Manipal were recommended and the third is the greenfield institutions, which are private institutions which are not there right now. Recommendations of the EEC were on all three categories.”

In all 114 institutions applied for IoE, including 29 currently functioning private institutions, of which two were selected. In the greenfield category there were 11 proposals.

On the Jio decision, Subrahmanyam said: “Where the institution is starting on a greenfield mode they will only get a LoI. The LoI says that you must set up the institutions within three years...It is only a LoI given to Jio and if they set up an institution with good vice-chancellor and a requisite campus will they get affiliation.”

He said the government has gone with the recommendation of the committee that found only one application was eligible in the greenfield category. “The committee in their own wisdom after due diligence after reading their proposals and their vision statements and looking at their ability to mobilise land, building and other core team they have come to a conclusion...We are respecting their judgement as this committee consists of people with impeccable integrity and lot of public service,” added Subrahmanyam.
