தேனி, ' ஐ போன்' பயன்படுத்துவோரின் தகவல்களை திருடும் வெளிநாட்டு கும்பல் குறித்து தீவிரமாக கண்காணிக்க வேண்டும்,' என, சைபர் கிரைம் போலீசார், மாவட்ட இணைய வழி குற்றங்களை கண்காணிக்கும் பிரிவு போலீசாரை உஷார் படுத்தி உள்ளனர்.இந்திய உளவுத் துறைக்கு கனடா, ஆஸ்திரேலியா, ரஷ்யா உள்ளிட்ட நாடுகளை சேர்ந்த (டேட்டா கேட்சர்) தகவல்களை திருடும் நிபுணர்கள், இந்தியாவில் ' ஐ- போன் ' பயன்பாட்டாளர்களான தொழிலதிபர்கள், பாதுகாப்பு அதிகாரிகள், சினிமா நட்சத்திரங்கள், அரசியல்வாதிகள் என முக்கிய நபர்களின் தகவல்களை விசேஷ மென்பொருள் மூலம் திருடும் கும்பல் குறித்து தகவல் கிடைத்து உள்ளது. இதனால் மாநில சைபர் கிரைம் போலீசார், மாவட்ட சைபர் கிரைம் குற்றங்களை கண்காணிக்கும் அதிகாரிகளை உஷார் படுத்தி உள்ளனர்.இந்த ஐ-போன் 'ஹை ஜாக் கேக்கர்ஸ்' தொழில்நுட்பம் குறித்து சைபர் கிரைம் போலீசார் கூறுகையில், 'முதற்கட்டமாக முக்கிய நபர்கள் பயன்படுத்தும் 13 ஐ-போன்களின் தகவல்கள் வெளிநாடுகளில் இருந்து திருடப்பட்டுள்ளது கண்டறியப்பட்டுள்ளது. இதனால் ஐ-போன் பாதுகாப்பாக பயன்படுத்த அறிவுறுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளனர்.தவறான, தேவையற்ற எஸ்.எம்.எஸ்., இணைப்புக்கள், தேடுதல் குறித்த இணைய வழி குறிப்புக்களை பதிவிறக்கம் செய்வதையோ, தெரியாத நபர்களிடம் இருந்து வரும் இணைப்புகளையோ பயன்படுத்த வேண்டாம்.மாவட்ட சைபர் கிரைம் போலீசாரிடம் இதுகுறித்து முன் எச்சரிக்கையாக புகார் அளிக்கலாம்,' என்றனர்.

புதுடில்லி : உலகின் தலைசிறந்த விமான நிறுவனமாக சிங்கப்பூர் ஏர்லைன்ஸ் தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது.

ஸ்கைடிராக்ஸ் எனும் அமைப்பு ஆண்டுதோறும் உலகின் சிறந்த விமான நிறுவனங்களை தேர்வு செய்து விருது வழங்கி வருகிறது. இந்த ஆண்டில் 2.36 கோடி பேர் பங்கேற்று ஓட்டளித்தனர். 335 விமான நிறுவனங்கள் பங்கேற்ற இப்போட்டியில், இந்த ஆண்டுக்கான சிறந்த நிறுவனமாக சிங்கப்பூர் ஏர்லைன்ஸ் தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது. 4வது முறையாக இவ்விருதினை சிங்கப்பூர் ஏர்லைன்ஸ் நிறுவனம் வென்றுள்ளது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

கேரளாவில், முதல்வர் பினராயி விஜயன் தலைமையில், இடது ஜனநாயக முன்னணி ஆட்சி நடக்கிறது. இம்மாநிலத்தின், பத்தனம் திட்டாவில் உள்ள, பிரசித்தி பெற்ற சபரிமலை அய்யப்பன் கோவிலுக்கு, ஆண் பக்தர்கள் மட்டுமே அனுமதிக்கப்படுகின்றனர்.

Former Director of Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, G. Padmanaban, has been appointed Chancellor of the Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN) in Tiruvarur by President Ram Nath Kovind.

Mr. Padmanaban replaces V. Krishnamurthy, former Chairman of National Manufacturing Competitive Council (NMCC).

Hailing from Thanjavur district, Mr. Padmanaban had his schooling in Bengaluru and graduated from the Presidency College in Chennai. He completed Ph.D in biochemistry at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru. He was a recipient of Padma Bhushan in 2003 and Padma Shri in 1991.

Nageshwar Rao, who has served as Vice-Chancellor of various open universities, including the Indira Gandhi National Open University, is the nominee of Governor-Chancellor Banwarilal Purohit for the search committee tasked with choosing the Vice-Chancellor of the Madurai Kamaraj University.

Last week, M. Anandakrishnan, former Vice-Chancellor of the Anna University, was chosen as the nominee of the university’s senate for the search panel. A month ago, C. Thangamuthu, former Vice-Chancellor of the Bharathidasan University, was selected as the Syndicate’s choice.

‘File I-T returns on time or pay fine’

Office of the Chief Commissioner of Income Tax - Coimbatore has urged the Income Tax assessees to pay their I-T returns on or before July 31, 2018, failing which they will have to pay penalty.

In a release issued here, the Income Tax department has said that a section 234 F has been brought in the Finance Act which calls for payment of penalty for delayed filing of I-T returns.

Those with income less than Rs. 5 lakh and filing returns between August 1, 2018 to March 31, 2019 will have to pay a penalty of Rs. 1,000 and those whose income exceeds Rs. 5 lakh and filing returns between August 1, 2018 and December 31, 2018 will have to pay a fine of Rs. 5,000 and those filing the returns between January 1, 2019 to March 31, 2019 will have to pay a fine of Rs. 10,000.

Mandatory

Late filing fee is mandatory and thus automatic. The same has to be paid before filing a belated return.

They disappear from ex-judge’s house

A fit case for ‘Ripley’s Believe It Or Not’. With about a hundred case bundles having mysteriously disappeared from a Madras High Court judge’s residence, the court has now ordered a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe to get to the bottom of the matter.

The bundles went missing from the residence of former judge T. Mathivanan before he retired from service in May 2017.

Justice G. Jayachandran directed the central agency to investigate the issue and proceed against those found guilty. “This court is worried about the missing case records from the chartered High Court, which is also a court of record (a court whose proceedings are recorded and available as evidence of fact),” he said.

Wondering how case bundles sent to a judge’s residence did not return to the High Court Registry, and remained untraced, Mr. Justice Jayachandran said: “It is alarming to note that case bundles have disappeared from the radar like missing vessels in the Bermuda Triangle.”

The issue created a furore, with a number of lawyers taking it up with Chief Justice Indira Banerjee. One of those complaints stated that Mr. Mathivanan had allowed a petition on March 21, but a copy of the order was not delivered to the petitioner till the judge retired from service.

Subsequently, the High Court Registry informed the lawyer, G. Saravanan, that his entire case bundle was missing. However, curiously, the Information Centre on the court campus had issued him a printout of the case status information, wherein it was clearly mentioned that the case had been disposed of by Mr. Mathivanan on March 21.

The Chief Justice received similar complaints from many other lawyers who complained of bundles related to appeals, original petitions and revision cases going missing. All those cases were related to CBI investigations and all of them had been dealt with by Mr. Mathivanan during his tenure as a judge of the High Court.

Shocked over such complaints, Ms. Justice Banerjee ordered an in-house enquiry which revealed that about a hundred case bundles sent to the judge’s residence, before his retirement, for various purposes such as dictating and signing of the judicial orders, were not returned.
