Doctor found dead at home, family cries foul

An 82-year-old homoeopathy doctor was found dead at his residence on Ramachandra Road, Pondy Bazaar on Sunday night.Police said it was a case of accidental death, but his family lodged a complaint alleging foul play.
The deceased, Natara jan, ran a homoeopathy clinic on Theyagaraya Road in T Nagar. He lived with his wife Mangayarkarasi. He was alone at home when the death happened. Natarajan's son lives with his family in Tambaram.
On Sunday , Mangayarkarasi had gone to Ulundurpet on some personal work.She told police that when she returned around 11pm, she found Natarajan dead in a bathroom. He had injuries to the face. The Pondy Baza ar police arrived and moved the body to a government hospital for postmortem. Nothing was reported missing from the house, police said.
The family members have filed a police complaint.Police said the man used to sell gems to people in the neighbourhood. His clients included those from the film industry . Police said Natarajan had a dispute with a film producer over a Bengaluru site.
“But we suspect that he slipped and fell in the bathroom,“ a police officer said.Protesting against the police stand, the family refused to take back the body after postmortem. Police said the autopsy report will reveal the cause of death.
