Prove charge on med admission, CM dares Bedi

Coming down heavily on lt governor Kiran Bedi, chief minister V Narayanasamy openly challenged her to prove her allegations of corruption in postgraduate medical admissions by the Centralized Admission Committee (Centac) in the Union territory of Puducherry .Presenting a report on the admission of candidates to postgraduate medical degree and diploma courses for the 2017-18 academic year in the legislative assembly on Wednesday , Narayanasamy sought a public apology from Bedi for misguiding the people and students. Narayanasamy said Bedi visited the Centac counselling venue on May 30 and levelled false allegations against the government.
“She has alleged that our government has surrendered 71 seats belonging to the government quota to the private medical colleges (after the first two rounds of counselling between May 4 and 19). She further alleged that the officers and politicians resorted to corrupt practices that were set right by her intervention. I openly challenge the honourable lt governor to prove her allegations. The honourable lt governor should apologize publicly for misguiding the people and students of Puducherry . I hereby place such distorted acts of honourable lt governor before the floor of the assembly and the people,“ said Narayanasamy . He said he would file a defamation suit for damaging the reputation of the government by levelling baseless charges.
Narayanasamy said the lt governor's direction to hold another round of counselling on May 31 was against the MCI's norms and the directions of Supreme Court after the completion of first two rounds of counselling and completion of all India mop-up counselling.“Who has given such authority to her,“ he asked.
