M.G.R. நடித்த படங்களில் ஒன்று ‘சாலிவாஹனன்’. இந்தப் படத்தில் அவருக்கு சிறிய வேடம்தான். படத்தின் கதாநாயக நடிகருடன் எம்.ஜி.ஆருக்கு கத்தி சண்டை காட்சி. எம்.ஜி.ஆர். முறையாக வாள் சண்டை, சிலம்பம், குதிரையேற்றம் போன்றவற்றை கற்றவர். வாள் வீச்சில் ஆக்ரோஷமாக சண்டையிடுவதிலாகட்டும், சில நேரங்களில் எதிராளியை நீ எனக்கு சமமல்ல என்பதுபோல, அலட்சியமாக எதிர்கொள்வதை காட்டும் வகையில் சிரித்துக் கொண்டே ஸ்டைலாக வாள் வீசுவதிலாகட்டும், எம்.ஜி.ஆருக்கு நிகர் அவர்தான். ‘சாலிவாஹனன்’ படத்தின் படப்பிடிப்பில் கதாநாயக நடிகரைவிட எம்.ஜி.ஆர். சிறப்பாக கத்தி சண்டை காட்சியில் நடித்தார்.

அவரது வேகத்துக்கு கதாநாயகனாக நடித்த வரால் ஈடு கொடுக்க முடியவில்லை. இது குறித்து இயக்குநரிடம் அவர் தரப்பில் புகார் செய்யப்பட்டது. படத்தின் இயக்குநர் கதாநாயகனுக்கு ஆதரவாகவே இருந்தார். எம்.ஜி.ஆரின் வாள் வீச்சு வேகத்தை குறைத்துக் கொள்ளும்படி கூறியதுடன், ஏற்கெனவே, அவர் நடித்த சில காட்சிகளும் ‘கட்’ செய்யப்பட்டன. இதுபற்றி, உடன் நடிக்கும் ஸ்டன்ட் நடிகரிடம் எம்.ஜி.ஆர். தனது நிலையைச் சொல்லி வருத்தப் பட்டார். அந்த ஸ்டன்ட் நடிகரும் ‘‘உங்களிடம் திறமை இருக்கிறது, கண்டிப்பாக முன்னுக்கு வருவீர்கள், வருந்தாதீர்கள்’’ என்று அன்பாக பேசி எம்.ஜி.ஆருக்கு ஆறுதல் கூறினார்.

அந்த ஸ்டன்ட் நடிகர் கூறியபடி அடுத்த சில ஆண்டுகளில் எம்.ஜி.ஆர். கதாநாயகனாக உயர்ந்தார். படத்தின் பெயர் ‘ராஜகுமாரி’. பல போராட்டங்களுக்குப் பிறகுதான் கதாநாயகன் வாய்ப்பு அவருக்கு வந்தது. அந்த நிலையிலும் தனக்கு வாய்ப்பு கிடைத்ததே போதும் என்று இல்லாமல், சிறிய வேடங்களில் தலைகாட்டி வந்த, தனக்கு ஆறுதல் சொன்ன ஸ்டன்ட் மாஸ் டருக்கும் ‘ராஜகுமாரி’ படத்தில் வாதாடி வாய்ப்பு வாங்கிக் கொடுத்தார். தொடர்ந்து தன் படங்களில் அவருக்கு வாய்ப்பு கிடைக்கச் செய்தார். அந்த ஸ்டண்ட் நடிகர்... ‘சாண்டோ’ சின்னப்பா தேவர். எம்.ஜி.ஆர். நடித்துக் கொடுக்க அவர் தயாரித்த முதல் படம் ‘தாய்க்குப் பின் தாரம்’. முதல் படமே அபார வெற்றி. ஸ்டன்ட் நடிகராக இருந்த சின்னப்பா தேவரை பட முதலாளியாக உயர்த்தினார் எம்.ஜி.ஆர்.

‘தாய்க்குப் பின் தாரம்’ படத்தின் தெலுங்கு டப்பிங்கில் தனக்காக வேறு ஒருவரின் குரலை ‘டப்’ செய்து தேவர் வெளியிட்டது தொடர்பாக, இடையில் சில காலம் எம்.ஜி.ஆருக்கும் சின்னப்பா தேவருக்கும் ஊடல் ஏற்பட்டாலும் அதனால் அவர்களது நட்பு பழுதுபட்டதில்லை. சொல்லப்போனால், ஆழ்ந்த நட்பு இருக்கும் இடத்தில்தான் உரிமையுடன் கூடிய ஊடலும் எழும். புரிதல் ஏற்பட்டு அதன்பின் ஏற்படும் கூடல் மேலும் நெருக்கத்தை அதிகரிக்கும். அப்படி, தேவருக்கும் எம்.ஜி.ஆருக்கும் ஏற்பட்ட நெருக்கம் கடைசிவரை பிரிக்க முடியாததாக இருந்தது. அதற்கு பின் எம்.ஜி.ஆரை வைத்து ‘தாய் சொல்லை தட்டாதே’, ‘தாயைக் காத்த தனயன்’, ‘தர்மம் தலைகாக்கும்’ என்று பல வெற்றிப் படங்களை தேவர் எடுத்தார்.

1967-ம் ஆண்டு ஜனவரி 12-ம் தேதி தமிழக சட்டப் பேரவைத் தேர்தலுக்கு முன் நடிகர் எம்.ஆர்.ராதாவால் எம்.ஜி.ஆர். சுடப்பட்டார். துப்பாக்கித் தோட்டா தொண்டையை துளைத்துச் சென்றது. மறுபிறப்பெடுத்து, மருத்துவமனையில் சிகிச்சை பெற்று வந்தபோது அவரது திரையுலக வாழ்வே முடிந்தது என்று கூறினர். எம்.ஜி.ஆருக்கு மீண்டும் பேச்சுத் திறன் வருமா? என்று நிச்சய மில்லாத நிலை. எம்.ஜி.ஆரை மருத்துவமனை யில் சந்தித்து தான் அடுத்து எடுக்கப் போகும் ‘விவசாயி’ படத்துக்கு அட்வான்ஸ் தொகையை எம்.ஜி.ஆரின் கையில் தேவர் கொடுக்கும் அளவுக்கு இருவரின் நட்பு பரஸ்பர நம்பிக்கையுடனும் வலிமையாகவும் இருந்தது.

‘‘எம்.ஜி.ஆர். மீண்டும் நடிப்பது நிச்சயம் இல் லாத நிலையில், அவருக்கு பணம் கொடுக்க வேண் டுமா?’’என்று சிலர் கேட்டபோது, உறுதியான குரலில் தேவர் கூறினார்... ‘அவர் (எம்.ஜி.ஆர்) ‘தாய்க்குப் பின் தாரம்’ படத்தில் நடித்த பிறகுதான் நாம் முழுசா சாப்பிட்டோம். அவரால் நடிக்க முடியாவிட்டால் செலவு கணக்கில் வைத்துக்கொள்கிறேன் போ..’

மருதமலை முருகன் கோயிலில் தனது சொந்த செலவில் மின்விளக்கு வசதி செய்த தேவர், அதை தான் மிகவும் மதிக்கும் அன்பு நண்பரான எம்.ஜி.ஆரின் கையாலேயே தொடங்கி வைக்கச் செய்தார். அப்போது எம்.ஜி.ஆர். திமுகவில் இருந்தார். இது எம்.ஜி.ஆரின் கட்சி கொள்கைக்கு முரணாயிற்றே என்று சலசலப்பு எழுந்தது. எம்.ஜி.ஆர். விளக்கம் அளித்தார். ‘‘நானோ நான் சார்ந்துள்ள தி.மு.கழகமோ கடவுள் இல்லை என்று சொல்லவில்லை. நம்மை மீறிய சக்தி இருப்பதை நம்புகிறேன். தேவர் என் மீது கொண்டுள்ள அன்புக்காகவும் நட்புக்காகவும் விழாவில் கலந்து கொண்டேன்’’ என்று கூறினார். சர்ச்சைகள் ஓய்ந்தன.

தேவர் மறைந்த போது எம்.ஜி.ஆர். தமிழகத்தின் முதல் அமைச்சர். கோவை சென்று தனது நண்பரின் இறுதி ஊர்வலத் தில் கலந்து கொண்டு நடந்தே சென்றார். இருவருக் கும் இடையிலான நட்பு, நங்கூரம் பாய்ச்சிய கப்பலாய் உறுதியாக இருந்ததற்கு மட்டுமல்ல; நட்புக்கு எம்.ஜி.ஆர் கொடுத்த மரியாதைக்கும் சாட்சி அது.

எம்.ஜி.ஆரை வைத்து அதிக படங்களை தயாரித்தவர் என்ற பெருமையைப் பெற்றவர் சின்னப்பா தேவர். இருவர் கூட்டணியில் ‘தாய்க்குப் பின் தாரம்’ முதல் ‘நல்ல நேரம்’ வரை மொத்தம் 16 படங்கள் வெளியாயின. தேவர் பிலிம்ஸ் தயாரிப்பில் எம்.ஜி.ஆர்- ஜெயலலிதா நடித்த படம் ‘முகராசி’. பல படங்களின் படப் பிடிப்பு, அரசியல் என்று பரபரப்பாக இருந்த எம்.ஜி.ஆரை வைத்து 12 நாட்களில் எடுக்கப்பட்டு 100 நாள் ஓடிய வெற்றி படம் என்ற சாதனை படைத்தது ‘முகராசி’.

WhatsApp now allows you to share documents in chats

WhatsApp users will finally be able to send documents with each other over chats. The feature is now available on the latest WhatsApp builds available on Google Play and the App Store.

Users with WhatsApp version 2.12.453 on Android and version 2.12.14 on iOS will now see a new ‘Document’ section under attachments, which allows them to attach and share documents.

However as of now, the feature seems limited to PDF files only, though we expect more document sharing options will be added in the near future. Its also worth mentioning that users cannot share a document unless both the sender as well as the receiver have updated to the latest version of the app available on their respective app stores.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp for iOS also scores a bunch of new updates which now give you the ability to share photos and videos from other cloud storage apps such as Google Drive, Dropbox, or Microsoft OneDrive. In addition, the update also allows users to choose from a variety of solid colours for their chat background.

SC: Bring LLB on par with MBBS, BTech

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Wednesday started the arduous task of initiating "long overdue" reforms in legal education and in the profession of advocacy to put the LLB degree on a par with those of MBBS and BTech.

"The system is crying for reforms and we must do something," a bench of Chief Justice T S Thakur and Justice U U Lalit said.

The CJI said there was a general feeling that students enrolled in LLB courses when they didn't get admission into other professional streams. "If students do not get into MBBS or BTech courses, they join LLB. Legal profession should not be a free for all profession. So, it needs to be reformed," he added.

The bench said any addition to the pool of legal professionals must be talented and of good quality. "Administration of justice is as important as the profession of a doctor. If one is not permitted to become a half-baked doctor, you can't also become a half-baked lawyer," the CJI said. Though it questioned the statutory force behind the Bar Council of India's decision to hold All India Bar Examination, it said in principle it was not against the screening test as there was a dire need to weed out non -serious persons from joining the profession. "Let the AIBE go on as scheduled. We are not averse to the examination to screen those entering the profession of advocacy. We want to strengthen it. The filtering mechanism needs to be strengthened so that the profession is not open to one and all," the bench said. "Every year, 60,000 more join the profession, of which 2,000-odd are from National Law Schools," it added. The court was questioning BCI counsel Ardhendumauli Prasad about the statutory force behind the regulatory body's decision to hold AIBE. A law graduate must clear the AIBE within two years of enrolling as an advocate to be able to continue practising in court.

The bench referred the matter to a three-judge bench for evolving criteria to weed out non-serious lawyers from entering the profession. The CJI said, "In Jammu and Kashmir, there was a sound system where a law graduate enrols as a pleader and practises for two years . After that, he gets enrolled as a 'vakil' and practises on the original side of the high court for three years. But now, a fresh law graduate can come straight to the apex court and argue cases. We ask them questions and they do not appear to know much about the practice and rules."

If you had opened Gmail on Thursday, you may have been curious about the red padlock appearing while typing in corporate or lesser-known email IDs. You’d have also seen an alert not to send personal information to that ID as that domain’s servers may not be encrypted.

Gmail rolled out most of these security features soon after their ‘safer internet day’ update, which allowed users to get 2GB upgrade to their drive storage on completing a security checklist by Thursday.

It also added a lot of features that allowed people to identify messages from authentic users or mails from strangers masquerading as ‘official mail’.

What does this mean for users? It will help you identify users who mail you often,  and will safeguard you from unknown users mailing you from seemingly authentic mail IDs that resemble those of government/ corporate ids. It allows users to know if the data shared with you from the sender is secure by employing TLS (Transport Layer Security), which provides an enhanced level of encryption-message to message, user to user security. According to Google search trends over the previous year, searches about two-factor authentication on Google India had risen 97%.

வாகனங்களுக்கு வேக கட்டுப்பாட்டு கருவி கட்டாயம் ஏப்ரல் 1–ந் தேதி முதல் அமல்

இந்தியா முழுவதும் சாலை விபத்துகளில் ஏராளமானோர் பலியாகி வருகின்றனர். இதற்கு வாகனங்கள் அதிவேகமாக செல்வதே காரணம் ஆகும். எனவே வாகனங்களில் வேக கட்டுப்பாட்டு கருவிகளை பொருத்த மத்திய அரசு அரசாணைப்படி போக்குவரத்து துறை நடவடிக்கை எடுத்து வருகிறது.

ஏற்கனவே பள்ளி வாகனங்களில் வேக கட்டுப்பாட்டு கருவி கட்டாயம் என்ற நடைமுறை உள்ளது. தற்போது லாரி, வேன் உள்பட கனரக வாகனங்கள், சரக்கு வாகனங்கள், இலகு ரக வாகனங்கள், 9 இருக்கைகளுக்கு மேல் உள்ள வாகனங்கள் அனைத்திலும் வேக கட்டுப்பாட்டு கருவி பொருத்த வேண்டும் என்று போக்குவரத்து துறை அறிவித்துள்ளது.

கடந்த 1–10–2015–க்கு பிறகு பதிவு செய்யப்படும் வாகனங்களில் சம்பந்தப்பட்ட நிறுவனங்களே வேக கட்டுப்பாட்டு கருவியை பொருத்தி இருக்கின்றன. அதே சமயம் அதற்கு முந்தைய பழைய வாகனங்களிலும் 6 மாதம் அவகாசம் வழங்கி மார்ச் 31–ந் தேதிக்குள் வேக கட்டுப்பாட்டு கருவி பொருத்த வேண்டும் என்று உத்தரவிடப்பட்டது. இதை தொடர்ந்து ஏப்ரல் 1–ந் தேதி முதல் வேக கட்டுப்பாட்டு கருவி பொருத்துவது கட்டாயமாக்கப்படுகிறது.

மத்திய அரசின் உத்தரவால் விபத்துகள் குறையும் என்றும், தற்போது வாகனங்களில் வேக கட்டுப்பாட்டு கருவிகள் பொருத்தும் பணிகள் துரிதமாக நடந்து வருகிறது என்றும் போக்குவரத்து துறை அதிகாரிகள் தெரிவித்தனர்.

வளர்ந்த நாடு என்பது எத்தனை ஏழைகள் கார் வைத்திருக்கிறார்கள் என்பதைப் பொறுத்ததில்லை. எத்தனை பணக்காரர்கள் பொதுப் போக்குவரத்தைப் பயன்படுத்துகிறார்கள் என்பதைப் பொறுத்ததே. கடந்த ஜனவரி மாதம் மட்டும் இந்தியாவில் 2.18 லட்சம் கார்கள் விற்பனையாகியிருக்கின்றன. இது வளர்ச்சிதானா?

மொத்த பெட்ரோலியப் பயன்பாட்டில் போக்குவரத்துக்காக மட்டும் 60 சதவீதம் செலவிடுகிறது மனித இனம். இதில் சொந்த கார், இரு சக்கர வாகனங்களுக்காக மட்டும் பயன்படுத்தப்படுவது 40 சதவீதம். உலகிலேயே அதிகம் நுகரும் நாடு என்றாலும், பொதுப் போக்குவரத்தைப் பயன்படுத்துவதன் மூலம் தினமும் 41.6 மில்லியன் லிட்டர் பெட்ரோல் மிச்சப்படுவதாகச் சொல்கிறது அமெரிக்கா. ஜப்பான், சிங்கப்பூர் ஆகிய நாடுகளில் தனிப் போக்குவரத்தைக் கட்டுப்படுத்த கார்களுக்குக் கூடுதல் வரி உண்டு. கடுமையான கட்டுப்பாடுகளும் உண்டு.

இந்தியாவில் 1995-ல் இருந்து பொதுப் போக்குவரத்தைப் பயன்படுத்துபவர்களின் எண்ணிக்கை 30 சதவீதம் உயர்ந்திருக்கிறது. அதைவிடப் பல மடங்கு தனிப் போக்குவரத்தும் அதிகரித்திருப்பதே ஆபத்து!

பொதுப் போக்குவரத்துக்கு நாம் மாறுவதன் மூலம், ஆண்டுதோறும் 3.7 கோடி மெட்ரிக் டன் கரியமில வாயு உமிழ்வைக் கட்டுப்படுத்தலாம். மேலும், பஸ்ஸுக்கோ, ரயிலுக்கோ செல்பவர்களுக்கு சிறிது தூரமேனும் நடக்கும் நிர்ப்பந்தம் இயல்பாகவே ஏற்படுகிறது. நடக்கிறார்கள். பொதுச் சமூகத்துடன் உரையாடுகிறார்கள். தனிப்பட்ட வாகனங்கள் ஒரு வகையில் நம்மைத் தனித் தீவாக்கிவிடுகின்றன.

இரு சக்கர வாகனங்களைப் பயன்படுத்துவதில் பல சவுகரியங்கள் உண்டு என்றாலும், அதிக எண்ணிக்கையில் விபத்துகள் நிகழ்வதற்கும் இவைதான் காரணம். சாலை விபத்துகளில் ஏற்படும் உயிரிழப்புகளில் 25 சதவீதத்துக்கும் மேல் இரு சக்கர வாகனங்களால் நிகழ்பவைதான். காரைவிட பஸ், ரயில் போன்ற வாகனங்கள் பாதுகாப்பானவை என்று வெக்ஸென் நிறுவன ஆய்வு தெரிவிக்கிறது. காருடன் ஒப்பிட்டால், விபத்தில் இறக்கும் வாய்ப்பு ரயில் பயணத்தில் 9 மடங்கு குறைவு என்று அது குறிப்பிடுகிறது. பொதுப் போக்குவரத்து மட்டும் இல்லையென்றால், தினம் சாலைப் பயணத்தில் ஏற்படும் தாமதம் மேலும், 27 சதவீதம் அதிகரிக்கும் என்று சுட்டிக்காட்டியிருக்கிறது அமெரிக்க பொதுப் போக்குவரத்துச் சங்கம்.

போக்குவரத்து நெரிசலையும், ஒற்றை இலக்க, இரட்டை இலக்க முறையை 15 நாட்களுக்கு அமல்படுத்தியது டெல்லி அரசு. குறிப்பிட்ட இந்த 15 நாட்களில் காற்றில் பி.எம். 2.5 என்று அழைக்கப்படும் துகள்கள் குறிப்பிடத்தக்க அளவு குறைந்ததாக ஆற்றல் மற்றும் வளங்கள் நிறுவனம் (TERI) தெரிவித்திருக்கிறது. பொதுப் போக்குவரத்து அதிகரித்தால் சூழலில் என்ன மாற்றம் நடக்கும் என்பதற்கான சமீபத்திய உதாரணங்களில் ஒன்று இது. நாட்டிலேயே காற்று மாசு அதிகம் உள்ள நகரங்களில் ஒன்று தமிழகத் தலைநகரம் சென்னை. தமிழகம் தன்னைப் பாதுகாத்துக்கொள்ள எப்போது நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்போகிறது?

Visa on Arrival for Japanese nationals from tomorrow

As announced by the Prime Minister, the Visa on Arrival for Japanese nationals is being launched from tomorrow i.e. 1st March, 2016. This facility will be available at six airports viz. Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore and Hyderabad. This facility can be availed for the purposes of business, tourism, conference and medical. Validity of this visa after entry will be for a period of 30 days.

About 1.80 lakh Japanese nationals visit India every year on various kinds of visas. Business and Tourist Visas constitute around 78% of these. On an average 600 Japanese nationals arrive at Delhi Airport daily. It is expected that extension of this facility to Japanese nationals will further strengthen the business and tourism ties between the two countries.

During the visit of Japanese Prime Minister Mr Shinzo Abe to India during December last year, the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had announced that India will extend 'Visa on arrival' to Japanese citizens from 1st March 2016.
