சென்னையில் நேற்று இரவு பரவலாக மழை பெய்தது.

சென்னை,

தமிழகத்தில் வடகிழக்கு பருவமழை கடந்த மாதம் 27-ந் தேதி தொடங்கியது. கடந்த மாதம் 31-ந் தேதி முதல் கடந்த 4-ந் தேதி வரை சென்னை மற்றும் புறநகர் பகுதிகளில் மழை பெய்தது. அதன்பின்னர், சில இடங்களில் விட்டு விட்டு மழை பெய்தது. இதனால் தாழ்வான பகுதிகளில் வெள்ளநீர் சூழ்ந்தது. சென்னை மற்றும் புறநகர் பகுதிகளில் இருக்கும் ஏரிகளின் நீர்மட்டமும் வெகுவாக உயர்ந்தது.

இந்த நிலையில் கடந்த 4 நாட்களாக சென்னை மற்றும் புறநகர் பகுதிகளில் வெயில் அடித்தது. அவ்வப்போது சில இடங்களில் லேசான சாரல் மழை பெய்தது. நேற்று காலை முதல் சென்னை மற்றும் புறநகர் பகுதிகளில் வானம் மேக மூட்டத்துடன் காணப்பட்டது.

நேற்று மாலை 5.30 மணியளவில் கிண்டி, சைதாப்பேட்டை, மாம்பலம், கோடம்பாக்கம், நுங்கம்பாக்கம், எழும்பூர் போன்ற பகுதிகளில் லேசான மழை பெய்தது. இரவு 8 மணிக்கு மேல் எழும்பூர், புரசைவாக்கம், பெரம்பூர் பேரக்ஸ் சாலை, ஓட்டேரி, நுங்கம்பாக்கம், கோடம்பாக்கம், சூளைமேடு, மகாகவி பாரதிநகர், கண்ணதாசன் நகர், வியாசர்பாடி, பெரம்பூர், தண்டையார்பேட்டை, ராயபுரம், எண்ணூர், திருவொற்றியூர், வண்ணாரப்பேட்டை, கொளத்தூர், வில்லிவாக்கம், பாடி, ராமாபுரம், தியாகராயநகர், சைதாப்பேட்டை, தேனாம்பேட்டை, நந்தனம், முகப்பேர், பூந்தமல்லி நெடுஞ்சாலை, வளசரவாக்கம், ஈக்காட்டுதாங்கல், வடபழனி, ஆதம்பாக்கம், கிண்டி, கொடுங்கையூர் உள்பட சென்னையில் பல இடங்களில் மழை பெய்தது. சில இடங்களில் பலத்த மழை பெய்தது.

இதனால் சாலைகளில் வெள்ளநீர் பெருக்கெடுத்து ஓடியது. சாலைகளில் தண்ணீர் தேங்கியதால் பல இடங்களில் வாகனங்கள் ஆமை வேகத்தில் ஊர்ந்து சென்றதால் போக்குவரத்து நெரிசலும் ஏற்பட்டது.

சென்னை புறநகர் பகுதிகளில் நேற்று காலை முதலே வானம் மேக மூட்டத்துடன் காணப்பட்டது. இரவில் இடி-மின்னலுடன் பலத்த மழை பெய்தது. பூந்தமல்லி, குன்றத்தூர், போரூர், மதுரவாயல், மாங்காடு, தாம்பரம், பல்லாவரம், குரோம்பேட்டை, அனகாபுத்தூர் பகுதிகளில் மழை பெய்தது.

ஆலந்தூர், பரங்கிமலை, மீனம்பாக்கம், மடிப்பாக்கம் பகுதியிலும் மழை கொட்டியது. மாதவரம், புழல், செங்குன்றம், சோழவரம் உள்ளிட்ட பகுதிகளிலும் நல்ல மழை பெய்தது.

ஆவடி, பட்டாபிராம், திருநின்றவூர், திருமுல்லைவாயல், கீழ்கட்டளை, திருவொற்றியூர் உள்ளிட்ட பகுதிகளில் மிதமான மழை பெய்தது.

காஞ்சீபுரம் மாவட்டம் வண்டலூர், கூடுவாஞ்சேரி, ஊரப்பாக்கம், காட்டாங்கொளத்தூர், மாமல்லபுரம், நெம்மேலி போன்ற இடங்களில் நேற்று இரவு பலத்த மழை பெய்தது.

திருவள்ளூர் மாவட்டம் பொன்னேரி மீஞ்சூர், சோழவரம், மணலிபுதுநகர், பழவேற்காடு, ஆரணி, பெரியபாளையம், கும்மிடிப்பூண்டி பகுதிகளில் நேற்று இரவு பலத்த மழை கொட்டியது.

திருவள்ளூர் ஊத்துக்கோட்டை பகுதிகளில் லேசான மழை பெய்தது.

தற்போது பன்னிரண்டாம் வகுப்பு படிக்கும் மாணவர்கள் ஐஐடி ஜேஇஇ, நீட் மற்றும் இதர நுழைவுத்தேர்வுகளில் தமிழக மாணவர்கள் அதிகளவில் வெற்றி பெறும்வகையில் தமிழக அரசு இலவசப் பயிற்சி வழங்க உள்ளது. இந்தப் பயிற்சி வகுப்பில் கலந்துகொள்ள அரசு, அரசு உதவி பெறும் பள்ளிகள் மற்றும் தனியார் பள்ளியில் படிக்கும் மாணவர்கள் விண்ணப்பிக்கலாம். விண்ணப்பிக்கக் கடைசித்தேதி 26.10.2017.




"தமிழக மாணவர்கள் நுழைவுத்தேர்வுகளில் மட்டுமல்லாது போட்டித்தேர்வுகளிலும் வெற்றிபெறும் வகையில் இந்தப் பயிற்சி வகுப்புகள் வடிவமைக்கப்பட்டு பயிற்சி வழங்க ஏற்பாடு செய்துவருகிறோம். இந்தப் பயிற்சி வகுப்பில் கலந்துகொள்ள, முதல்நாளில் மட்டும் 5,000 மாணவர்கள் பதிவுசெய்திருக்கிறார்கள். இந்த வாரம் இறுதிவரை பதிவு செய்யலாம் என்பதால் ஏராளமான மாணவர்கள் பதிவு செய்வார்கள் என எதிர்பார்க்கிறோம்" என்கிறார் தமிழக பள்ளிக்கல்வித் துறை இயக்குநர் இளங்கோவன்.

"பயிற்சி வகுப்பில் சேர பெற விரும்பும் பன்னிரண்டாம் வகுப்பு மாணவர்கள், அவர்களுடைய பள்ளியின் தலைமையாசிரியரிடம் பெயரை பதிவுசெய்ய வேண்டும். தலைமையாசிரியர் பள்ளிக்கல்வித் துறையின் இணையதளத்தில் http://tnschools.gov.in/ மாணவர்களின் பெயர்களை பதிவு செய்வார்கள். தற்போது ஒரு ஒன்றியத்துக்கு ஒரு பயிற்சி மையம் என்ற வகையில் தமிழ்நாடு முழுவதும் 412 பயிற்சி மையங்கள் அமைக்கத் திட்டமிட்டு இருக்கிறோம்" என்றார் இளங்கோவன்.

மாணவர்களுக்குப் பயிற்சி வழங்குவதற்காக தமிழ்நாட்டில் இருந்து 3,000 பள்ளி ஆசிரியர்கள் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டு ஆந்திராவிலுள்ள நுழைவுத் தேர்வு பயிற்சி மையங்களில் பயிற்சி பெற்றுவருகின்றனர். இவர்கள் நவம்பர் மாதத்தில் இருந்து மாணவர்களுக்கு பயிற்சியளிக்க இருக்கிறார்கள். பயிற்சி வகுப்புகள் ஒவ்வொரு வாரமும் வார இறுதி நாள்களான சனிக்கிழமை மற்றும் ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமைகளில் நடைபெறும்.

இந்தப் பயிற்சி வகுப்பில் கலந்துகொள்ள அரசு, அரசு உதவிப்பெறும் மற்றும் தனியார் பள்ளி மாணவர்கள் என அனைவரும் பதிவு செய்துகொண்டு கலந்துகொள்ளலாம். பதிவு செய்யும்போது தங்களுக்கு அருகில் உள்ள பயிற்சி மையத்தைத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்துக்கொள்ளலாம்.

MADURAI: When Attorney General KK Venugopal reversed his own position and trashed Tamil Nadu’s NEET exemption Ordinance, he did so after being asked to take a relook by the Union Health Ministry, which provided him what was reported as additional facts and past judgments of the apex court.

However, as information obtained under RTI reveals, the ministry had not even received the Ordinance, much less discussed it, before prodding Venugopal to reconsider his stand.

To put this in perspective, the information that Venugopal had reversed his stand appeared in the media on August 21. The next day, the apex court made NEET mandatory, for even TN. However, according to its own admission, the Health Ministry received a copy of the Ordinance from the Home Ministry only on August 23.

“There was no meeting held in this regard,” said the chief public information officer of the Union Health Ministry, in reply to request from this correspondent under RTI, seeking minutes of the meeting, if any. “It is painful to know that the ministry was adamant about rejecting the Ordinance without even holding a discussion,” said a senior health department official here, who spent long hours in pursuit of the sanction from the Centre.

After TN forwarded the copy of the Ordinance to the Union Home Ministry on August 14 seeking sanction to proceed, it was referred to the HRD and law ministries. When the latter sought his opinion, Venugopal had given positive response, which buoyed the mood back in Tamil Nadu. However, when it was the turn of Health Ministry, it reportedly asked the A-G to reconsider the position. “The ministry was reluctant to approve the Ordinance even after the two other ministries had cleared it,” said the TN official.

The State submitted the Ordinance only after the Union minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the Centre would cooperate, the official pointed out. “When an Ordinance is unanimously adopted by a State, it should be respected by the ministries concerned at the Centre,” he added.

Orders scrapping medical admission of 778 students in Pondy med colleges stayed

CHENNAI: The operation of the proceedings dated September 7 of the Medical Council of India (MCI) and the subsequent orders of the Puducherry government invalidating the admission of 778 students in first year MBBS course for 2016-17 have been stayed by the Madras High Court.

Passing interim orders on the writ petitions from 108 aggrieved students, Justice K Ravichandrabaabu said that both the proceedings showed that they were issued without giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioners or to the respective institutions, where they were undergoing the course for the past one year. Discharging them from their courses at this stage would be a major penal action, having drastic consequences on their academic career.

Such drastic action cannot be taken without following the principles of natural justice. Having allowed them to continue in the course for one year, if the impugned orders are given immediate effect, pending final decision on the petitions, it would certainly cause great prejudice and affect their interest, in the event of their succeeding in their cases later, the judge said.

On the other hand, if these students are permitted to continue the course by granting an interim order of stay and later if they fail to succeed in these writ petitions, certainly they have to leave the college without seeking any equity.

“This court finds that the petitioners have made out a prima facie case for the grant of interim order,” the judge said and made it clear that the same would be subject to the result of the petitions.

He then directed MCI and Puducherry government to file their counter on or before October 9 and posted the matter for final disposal on October 23.

Based on the report of Justice Chitra Venkataraman, a retired judge of Madras High court, that all 778 students were admitted without following the norms, MCI had cancelled all the admissions. According to MCI, a combined merit list was not prepared before admitting these students.

Of the total 778 students, 108 approached the High Court and sought to quash the proceedings of MCI and Puducherry government. They submitted that they were admitted in various medical colleges and deemed to be universities in Puducherry during 2016-17, i.e. well before the cut-off date of September 30, 2016. Their admissions, made strictly according to merits in the NEET, cannot be found fault with. The students combined merit list procedure was not in vogue during 2016-17.

It was introduced only in the present academic year 2017-18 and that too, pursuant to the Supreme Court order. The very basis for this action by MCI and Puducherry government was on the basis of a complaint from the parents of All Centac Students-Parents Association and if any action is to be taken on this, the students and the institutions in which they are continuing, ought to have given an opportunity of hearing, they argued.

Stays directive issued by MCI to discharge those admitted to PIMS in violation of admission norms

The Madras High Court has stayed the operation of proceedings issued by the Medical Council of India on September 7 and consequential action initiated by the Health Secretary in Puducherry to discharge students who had been admitted to Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences in the academic year 2016-17 in violation of the admission norms.

Justice B. Ravichandra Baabu granted the interim stay on writ petitions filed by a batch of 91 affected students. The judge ordered that the interim order would be in operation till October 23 and directed the MCI as well as the Government of Puducherry to file their counter affidavits by then. The petitioners were also ordered to file their rejoinder, if any. “Discharging these students from their course is undoubtedly a major penal action having drastic consequences on their academics. Certainly, such drastic action cannot be taken without following the principles of natural justice. Needless to say that having allowed the students to continue in their cases for one year... it would certainly cause prejudice in the event of their success in these writ petitions later. “On the other hand, if these students are permitted to continue the course by grant of an interim order and later, if they fail to succeed in these writ petitions, certainly, they have to leave the college without seeking for any equity,” the judge observed.

இந்த உத்தரவை எதிர்த்து மருத்துவ மாணவர்களான திவ்யா, விவேக், விக்னேஷ் உள்பட 108 பேர் சென்னை ஐகோர்ட்டில் மனு தாக்கல் செய்துள்ளனர்.

To crack NEET, medical aspirants take a break

CHENNAI: She had always aspired to become a doctor, but Meena* opted for a geology course at a city college after securing 94% in her Class XII board exams this year.

With a NEET score below 150, Meena could not make it to a medical college. But she is not giving up. She has taken up geology as it will give her the time to prepare for the exam next year. "I wanted to drop year but my parents were against it. So I took up a lighter course that would give me enough time to prepare for next year's NEET," she said.

Meena is not alone. Unable to crack NEET, several students in the city have either decided to take a break or join courses that are less time-consuming.

Rajesh of Pioneer Academy said several students pursuing BSc in Agriculture and BPharma courses want to take up weekend or evening classes for NEET. "Many of them want to give it a shot next year," he said.

Arts and science colleges in the city said they got enquiries following the NEET results even though admissions for most were over in August. Some colleges said they received a higher number of applications for courses across the board. Given the uncertainty surrounding NEET, institutions said students had sensed the high competition and had sought seats in other courses.

Loyola College said they had received around 40,000 applications -- almost 10,000 more than the average number every year - which was an all-time high. "We saw high demand for science courses that are usually not much sought after," said the college's PRO Anthony Samy.

The prospective NEET takers are not limited to those who have joined arts and science colleges. Several medical aspirants turned engineering students too are eyeing next year's NEET. This group has two types of students - while one set has joined engineering for the present academic year and are planning to prepare for NEET, there are those who have finished a year in engineering and are now keen on taking up NEET coaching.

Many students from Anna University have taken TC

after a year of engineering and are enrolling for coaching programmes to pursue medicine. "Some engineering students who had settled for the course want to join crash courses ahead of next year's NEET," said Sanjay Dadlani of the academy.

There are some, especially from the state board, who are staying away from the colleges altogether. The concept of taking a gap year is not new. Many state board students last year had enrolled for coaching to get a grasp of study material modelled on the CBSE syllabus.


This year too, many coaching centres have been kept busy, getting enquiries and admitting students for the year-long course. Some centres are offering CBSE Class XI and XII coaching along with NEET material.


K Yagnesh from Holy Cross Matriculation HSS said he decided to drop a year and concentrate on NEET.

"It was a sudden shift from state board to a CBSE-based paper. So I decided to take a year gap and enroll for coaching as I felt I could do better in NEET if prepared for it," he said.

Blind student whose medical college seat was cancelled says will commit suicide

A 19-year-old medical student who is unable to see beyond a distance of 8cm has threatened suicide after the Medical Council of India cancelled his admission to college since his disability is regarded too severe for someone taking the MBBS course.

Suresh’s tale highlights a problem of neglect and delays that plague almost every government office in the country: He was given admission in 2016 by authorities in Karnataka who should have taken note of his condition, only for it be cancelled almost a year later by the country’s medical regulator.

On August 28, Suresh wrote a five-page letter, and a separate two-page suicide note with a headline, “Notice of Death” in which he listed his struggle to land the college seat.

He said that despite his 70% visual disability, he scored 86% in his Class 12 examinations, studied hard to prepare for the medical college examination, and sold ancestral property to pay for his first year fees during a period in life that also coincided with the death of his parents.
“Out of severe depression, I have written to MCI to solve my problem. I have no option but to end my life if I don’t get a solution in my favour,” he told HT over a phone call.

Officials of the Karnataka Examination Authority allotted him a seat in Raichur Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) under the quota for students with disability after he scored a rank of 20,000 out of 1.5 lakh in the state’s common entrance test (CET) last year. He joined RIMS, a government college, in July 2016.

On June 26, 2017, the MCI cancelled his admission because it violated a 2009 regulation. The rule says that the only disability allowed in medical colleges is of the lower limbs, and a candidate had to fall under the 50%-70% severity to be eligible for reserved seats. Someone with more than 70% disability is not eligible for admission at all.

In December 2016, parliament passed The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Bill – 2016 which allows 5% reservation without any exception in all educational institutions. The legislation came into force in April 2017 but it does not apply in Suresh’s case because he took admission last year.

Suresh challenged the MCI’s cancellation order in the Kalaburagi Bench of Karnataka High Court, which, in an interim order on July 31, permitted him to appear in first year examination.

“While other students’ results are out, mine has been withheld,” he told HT from his village Byagwat in Raichur.

While the medical regulator’s decision was based on a rule backed by several medical reports and the views of the medical professionals, Suresh raised several questions regarding his case.

“When regulations don’t allow, why was I allowed to sit for examination? Why wasn’t I informed during counselling by the Karnataka Examination Authority? Why didn’t my college question that?” asked the teenager who counts becoming a doctor as his only dream.

“I can compete with any normal student and perform better than many of them,” he said.

Kavita Patil, chairman, RIMS, said that she is not aware of Suresh’ suicide note to MCI but is trying to help him by taking up the issue with senior government authorities.

A case related to permitting candidates with colour blindness to pursue medical education is pending in Supreme Court. During hearings, the top court has questioned the policy to completely exclude colour blind candidates from the medical profession.

The MCI analyses all medical college entries and given the scale of the work, it often takes months to scrap admissions.

More girls cornering MBBS seats

Statistics show the situation has remained in their favour for the past decade

Over the last nine years, the number of girls getting into medical colleges, whether self-financing or government, has been equal to or higher than the number of boys. While one indicator of this should have been better performance of girls in the Standard XII examinations, perusing the statistics over the years makes it clear that more girls than boys are entering medical colleges in Tamil Nadu, and that statistics remain unshaken with NEET too.

The percentage of girls (to boys) entering MBBS courses in government medical colleges has been between 49 and 56 since 2009, and this year (2017- 2018), it was 54. Only in 2010 was it higher at 56. The performance in the self-financing side has swung between 54 and 60. Put together, these admissions allow the gender meter to rest comfortably on the female side in the last decade or so.

Change in 2 decades

“It has been like this for many years now. Maybe 40 years back, when we were students, the gender ratio would have been 70:30 in favour of the boys. However, that started gradually changing, and more girls started entering the profession. Gradually it evened out, and then in the last 15-20 years, the tide has turned in favour of girls,” says S. Mohanasundaram, former Director of Medical Education.

A senior woman professor in a government medical college explains that the tide turned in 1990s with entrance examinations, and then Standard XII marks, or sheer merit deciding the entry of candidates.

In 1990s with entrance exams, the girls were performing better. With girls having an edge over the boys in the Standard XII results, they naturally had a better chance of getting into medical colleges.

Additionally, she reminds us, came social change. “Earlier, when we were studying to be doctors, things like finding appropriate grooms for their daughters governed what kind of course the girls could take. Even if the girls performed well, their parents may not have been so keen on sending them to medical college. That seems to have changed in the 1990s,” she explains, providing the context.

However, for the years for which data was available for government school students who entered medical schools, there was no consistent pattern.

In two years, more girls from government schools secured admission to MBBS course, and in the other two years, it was boys. Also traditionally, in Tamil Nadu, the number of government school students getting MBBS has been low, less than 1 per cent.

That number crashed to an all-time low in recent years, five seats, this year.

Three Puducherry medical colleges manipulated records to deny admission to meritorious students

PUDUCHERRY: It has now come to light that three private medical colleges in Puducherry had admitted 186 students who had not even applied for admission in those colleges in MBBS last year.

The imbroglio in MBBS admissions in deemed universities and private medical colleges could have been averted if the Puducherry government and private institutions strictly adhered to the decisions taken during the meeting convened at the Raj Nivas on September 1 last year, said lt governor Kiran Bedi.

Within a few days after the private institutions concluded MBBS admissions for the last academic year 2016-17, the chairperson of permanent admission committeeand Madras High Court former judge justice Chitra Venkataraman, in a report dated October 19 last year addressed to the chief secretary listed out serious lapses in the admission process in three private medical colleges and asked the Puducherry government to take appropriate action.

The delay on the part of the government finally resulted in the Medical Council of India ordering discharge of 770-odd MBBS students, who were admitted at private institutions, without following due rules and regulations. The MCI, in its September 7, 2017 order, directed the government and institutions to discharge all MBBS students who were not allotted seats through centralized admission committee (Centac) and send a compliance report within two weeks from the date of dispatch of the order.

Committee chairperson said the parents' associations submitted material evidence proving that the three private medical colleges admitted candidates, who had not even applied for admission in their colleges and denied admission to meritorious candidates, who officially applied for admission in their colleges. The associations pointed out that three private medical colleges offered MBBS admission to 186 students, who did not even apply for admission in their respective colleges.

The Justice said on comparing the application list with the admission list submitted by Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences, it was found that out of 112 students admitted, 44 students had not even applied for admission in the college. Similarly out of the 97 students admitted at Sri Venkateswara Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, 50 students had not applied at all and out of the 95 students admitted at Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, 92 students had not applied at all.

"This left the meritorious students, who had applied in the said colleges and also figured in the merit list prepared by the permanent admission committee not being included," said the justice in the report.

The colleges denied admission to meritorious students, who refused to pay exorbitant fees, declaring that they failed to appear for counselling despite their presence during the counselling session. "The parents informed that the colleges made this noting when the parents insisted on payment of fees as per the fee committee direction," the justice said.

"Agony caused to over 770 medical students was completely avoidable had the minutes of the meeting recorded on September 1 last year held at Raj Nivas were implemented by all parties concerned. Permanent admission committee chairperson also pointed out the serious deficiencies later. None of the issues was addressed. The whole scenario would have been different had the issues were addressed effectively. Instead, the colleges had a free run as is evident from the scale of irregularities based on which the MCI has cancelled the admissions,' said Bedi.

She said people suffer when the government fails to address issues in a time-bound manner with a sense of urgency and integrity. "Regrettably in this issue, it's our children and parents who suffer," she said.

Med admission malpractice: AIADMK seeks CBI probe

Puducherry: The opposition AIADMK on Thursday sought a CBI probe into the alleged malpractices in MBBS admissions in four deemed universities and three private medical colleges in the Union territory of Puducherry.

Speaking to reporters, AIADMK legislature party leader A Anbalagan said the probe must unearth information on the quantum of fees collected by private institutions from 770 odd MBBS students, who were given admission without adhering to the rules and norms set by the Supreme Court (SC), Medical Council of India (MCI), University Grants' Commission (UGC) and other competent authorities.

"We learnt that the private institutions had collected exorbitant fees and donations to a tune of Rs 365 crore from 770 odd students, including 75 from Puducherry. MCI must initiate stringent action against the private institutions for flouting the norms. We demand a thorough probe by CBI. The probe must unearth the quantum of money collected by the institutions as fees from students," Anbalagan said.

He urged lt governor Kiran Bedi and chief minister V Narayanasamy to shed their differences and find ways to resolve the issue in an amicable manner as it concerned the future of 770 odd MBBS students.

He wondered why the chief minister, who declared that the government will withdraw no-objection and essentiality certificates of the private institutions, if they were found to have made illegal admissions, did not initiate any action against erring institutions. He urged the chief minister to convene the cabinet and evolve strategies to resolve the issue. He termed chief minister's declaration that the government has no role in the admission of students under management quota 'irresponsible'.

The managements of private institutions decided to approach Madras high court seeking to stay the discharge orders issued by MCI. The MCI issued a notice dated September 7 to Puducherry government and the private institutions directing to discharge (remove from the rolls of the institution) the 770 odd MBBS students (for the academic year 2016-17) on charges of failing to adhere to the prescribed rules and norms in the admission process.

MCI joint secretary Rajendra Wahale said the institutions admitted students who were not allotted seats by the centralized admission committee (Centac). The institutions had also admitted students illegally after the last date of admission (September 30 every year) fixed by the Supreme Court and the MCI. Wahale asked the errant institutions to submit a compliance report within two weeks from the date of dispatch of the order.
