அணைக்கட்டுகளையும் கோபுரங்களையும் பிரமிடுகளையும் எழுப்பிய மாமனிதர்கள் இன்றைக்கு இல்லை. பிரமிடுகளை எழுப்பியவர்கள் அதற்குள்ளே அடக்கமாகிப் போனார்கள். பிரமிடுகள்தாம் இன்றைக்கும் இருக்கின்றன. இதனால் தெரிய வருவது, மனித வாழ்க்கை நிலையில்லாதது என்பதே ஆகும். அதனால், கொடுக்கப்பட்ட வாழ்நாளை, அர்த்தமுள்ளதாக ஆக்குவதே மானுடத்தின் மாண்பாகும்.

பணத்திற்குப் பதிலாகப் பண்டமாற்றுமுறை நடப்பில் இருந்த காலத்து விற்பவனும் சிறப்பாக வாழ்ந்தான், வாங்குபவனும் சீராக வாழ்ந்தான். கருவேப்பிலை கொத்தமல்லிக்கு, அரிசியைக் கொடுத்து வாழ்ந்தவர்கள் நம் முன்னோர். பழைய இரும்பைப் போட்டுவிட்டுப் பேரீச்சம் பழம் வாங்கியவர்கள்தாம் நாம்.
சங்க காலத்தில் ஒரு தந்தை விற்கக்கொடுத்த மீனைக் கள்ளுக்கடைக்காரனிடத்து பண்டமாற்றுச் செய்யாமல், முத்து வியாபாரியிடம் கொடுத்து முத்தை வாங்கி வருகிறாள், நெய்தல் நிலப்பெண். பண்டமாற்று முறையில் தனிமனிதனும் நாணயமாக இருந்தான் சமுதாயமும் நேர்மையோடு இருந்தது. ஆனால், பாழும் பணம் வந்தபிறகு ஒட்டுமொத்த சமுதாயமே குப்புறப்படுத்துக் கிடக்கிறது.
ஊர்களை அறிவதற்கும், பயணிக்கும் தொலைவை அறிவதற்கும் பயன்படும் கருவிகள் கையகத்தே இருந்தாலும், பத்து கிலோ மீட்டருக்கு ஒரு எல்லைக்கல்லையும், தகவல் பலகையையும் நட்டு வைத்திருக்கிறார்கள், நெடுஞ்சாலைத் துறையினர் அதுபோல வாழ்க்கைப் பயணத்திலும் தடுமாறிப் போகாமல் இருப்பதற்கு நம்முடைய அருளாளர்களும் ஞானிகளும் எச்சரிக்கைப் பலகைகளை அச்சடித்து வைத்திருக்கிறார்கள்.
மனித வாழ்க்கையை எளிமையாக்குவதற்காக வந்த பணத்தைத் தேடுவதிலேயே, பலர் வாழ்க்கையைத் தொலைத்து விட்டார்கள். மூன்று தலைமுறைகளுக்குப் பயன்பட வேண்டுமென்று ஊரை அடித்து உலையிலே போட்டவர்கள் இன்று, மானம் - மரியாதையை இழந்து திகம்பர சாமியார்களாகத் திரிவதைப் பார்க்கிறோம்.
தரைதளத்திலிருந்து மேல்மாடிக்குச் செல்வதற்கு மாடிப்படிகளைக் கட்டுகிறோம். நடப்பதற்கும் கடப்பதற்கும்தான் மாடிப்படிகளே தவிர, அவற்றில் படுத்து உறங்குவதற்கும், வாழ்வதற்கும் அல்ல. அதுபோல பணமும் ஒரு பண்டமாற்றுக் கருவியே தவிர, வாழ்க்கையை அதற்குள் புதைப்பதற்காக அன்று.
பணத்தாசையால் பாழ்பட்டுப் போகின்றவர்களை முதன் முதலில் எச்சரித்தவர், திருவள்ளுவப் பெருந்தகையே. "வஞ்சனையான வழியில் பொருளைச் சேர்த்துக் காப்பாற்றுதல், சுடாத பச்சை மண்கலத்துள் நீரைவிட்டுக் காப்பாற்றுவது போன்றதாகும்' (குறள் 669) என்றார்.
மேலும், "அருளொடும் அன்போடும் பொருந்தாத வழிகளில் வந்த செல்வத்தைப் பெற்று மகிழாமல், அதைத் தீமை என்று நீக்கிவிட வேண்டும்' (குறள் 755) எனவும் கடிந்துரைத்தார். இவற்றை எல்லாம் பின்பற்றாத காரணத்தால், இன்றைக்கு மத்திய அரசாங்கத்தின் கஜானாவுக்கு ரூ.67,382 கோடி கணக்கில் இல்லாத பணம் வந்து சேர்ந்திருக்கிறது.
சோமநாதபுரம் ஆலயத்தின்மீது 17 முறை படையெடுத்துக் கொள்ளையடித்துக் கொண்டு வந்த நவரத்தினங்களை எல்லாம் அரண்மனையில் குவிக்கச் செய்து, அதற்கு நடுவில் படுத்துக்கொண்டே, அதனைப் பார்த்துக்கொண்டே செத்தான், கஜினி முகம்மது.
அபரிமிதமான செல்வம் அழிவுக்கே அழைத்துச் செல்லும் என்பதை நம்மாழ்வார், "கொள்க என்று கூறிக்கொண்டே வரும் செல்வம், பின்னர் அவனை நெருப்புச் சூழ்ந்தது போல் சூழ்ந்து அழிக்கிறது. பேராசையால் அச்செல்வத்தை ஏற்றுப் பின் அழிகின்ற இவ்வுலகத்தின் இயற்கைதான் என்னே' (பாசுரம் 3322) எனத் திருவாய்மொழியில் அருளிச் செய்கிறார்.
நம்மாழ்வாரைப் போலவே வில்லிபுத்தூராழ்வாரும் அளப்பரிய செல்வம் எவ்வாறு கெடுக்கும் என்பதை, "மிதமிஞ்சிய செல்வம் சிலரிடத்து வந்துவிட்டால், தெய்வமும் சிறிது பேணார் தாம் சொல்லும் சொற்களை ஆராய்ந்து சொல்லமாட்டார்கள், உறவினர் என்றும், நண்பர்கள் என்றும் இரக்கம் காட்டமாட்டார்கள் எப்படியும் வென்றுவிடலாம் என்ற சிந்தனையிலேயே இருப்பார்கள் விதி வலிது என்பதையும் எண்ணார்' எனும் விதுர நீதியால் உணர்த்துகின்றார்.
வள்ளற்பெருமானிடம் பொருளாசைப் பிடித்த உன்மத்தர்கள், இரும்பைப் பொன்னாக்கும் இரசவாதத்தைச் செய்யும்படி வற்புறத்துகின்றனர். அதற்குப் பெருமானார் "யான் படைத்த பணத்தை எல்லாம் கிணற்றிலே எறிந்தேன், ஆற்றினில் எறிந்தேன், குளத்தினில் எறிந்தேன். அன்பர்கள் வற்புறுத்திப் பொருளை என்பால் திணித்த போதெல்லாம், அவற்றைக் கொண்டுபோய் கொல்லைப்புறத்தே கொட்டினேன்.
பொருள் பெருகினால், மனம் அறியாமை இருளில் அழுந்தும். அதனால் என்னை வற்புறுத்தாதீர்கள்' என அவர்களைக் கண்டித்து அனுப்பினார்.
கூரத்தாழ்வாரும் சுவாமி வேதாந்த தேசிகரும் நாள்தோறும் காலையில் பிட்சைக்குப் (உஞ்சவிருத்தி) போவது வழக்கம். அப்போது தெருவிலுள்ளோர் வந்திருப்பவர்கள் மகான்கள் என்பதால், வெள்ளிக் காசுகளையும், தங்கக் காசுகளையும் அரிசியோடு கலந்தே கொண்டு வந்து போடுவார்களாம்.

ஆலிவர் கோல்ட்ஸ்மித் எனும் ஆங்கிலக் கவிஞர் குவிந்து கிடக்கும் செல்வம் தனிமனிதனை மட்டுமன்றி, ஒட்டுமொத்த சமூகத்தையும் அழிக்கும் என்பதை "டெசர்டட் வில்லேஜ்' எனும் நெடும்பாட்டின் மூலம் வரைந்து காட்டுகிறார்.
ஒரு கிராமத்தை ஓர் ஆசிரியர் செம்மைப்படுத்தி, மக்களை நல்வழியில் நடத்தி வருகிறார். ஆனால், அந்தக் கிராமத்தில் திடீரென முளைத்த சில பணக்காரர்கள், விவசாயிகளின் நிலங்களைக் கொஞ்சம் கொஞ்சமாக ஆக்கிரமித்து, அவர்களை ஓட்டாண்டி ஆக்கிவிடுகின்றனர்.

"தட்டுக்கெட்ட மனிதர் கண்ணில் பட்டதெல்லாம் சொந்தம் சட்டப்படி பார்க்கப் போனால், எட்டடிதான் சொந்தம்' என எல்லாருக்குமாகப் பாடி வைத்திருக்கிறார் பட்டுக்கோட்டையார்.
பிகார் பூகம்பத்திற்கு நிவாரண நிதி திரட்டுவதற்காகக் காந்தியடிகள், முஜாபர்பூர் மகாராஜா மகேஷ் பிரவித் சிங்கின் அரண்மனைக்குச் செல்கிறார். அங்கு அவருக்கு வெள்ளாட்டுப் பாலையும், வேர்க்கடலையையும் மகாராணி பரிமாறுகிறார். மகாராணி தங்க வளையல்களோடும், வைர மாலைகளோடும் நின்றார்.
அதனைக் கண்ட காந்தியடிகள், பாலைக் கையில் வைத்துக்கொண்டே, "மகாராணியே இந்தத் தங்க நகைகள் உன்னை அலங்கரிப்பதில்லை. தங்கமும் வைரமும் இல்லாமலே நீ அழகாய் இருக்கிறாய். அவற்றையெல்லாம் என்னிடம் கழற்றிக்கொடுத்துவிடு அவற்றைப் பேரிடரில் தவித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கும் மக்களுக்குக் கொடுக்க வேண்டும்' என்கிறார்.
மகாராணியும் தாம் அணிந்திருந்த நகைகள் அனைத்தையும் கழற்றிக் கொடுத்துவிட்டு, "தாங்கள் எங்கள் மாளிகையில் விருந்தினராகத் தங்கியதே நாங்கள் செய்த பெரும் பாக்கியம். நகைகளைத் தங்களிடம் கொடுத்த பிறகு நான் மிக சந்தோஷமாக இருக்கிறேன்' என்றார்.
முறையற்ற செல்வம் நாட்டையும், வீட்டையும் கெடுக்கும் என்பதைப் பல அருளாளர்களும் ஞானியரும் எடுத்துரைத்திருக்கின்றனர் என்பதன்றி, திருவிடைமருதூர் ஆண்டவனே காவிரிப்பூம்பட்டினத்தில் ஒரு குமாராக அவதரித்து எடுத்துச் சொல்லியிருக்கிறார்.
அவ்வூரில் திருவெண்காடர் குடும்பம், செல்வம் படைத்த குடும்பம். அக்குடும்பத்தில் ஒரு குழந்தையாக திருவிடைமருதூர் மகாலிங்கம், மருதவாணன் எனும் பெயரில் அவதரிக்கின்றார். சிறு வயது பையனாகிய மருதவாணரை, "திரைகடலோடி திரவியம் தேட' குடும்பத்தார் அனுப்பி வைக்கின்றனர்.
தேடிய செல்வம் அனைத்தையும் திருக்கோயில் பணிகளுக்குச் செலவிட்டுவிட்டார் மருதவாணன். அவர் கப்பலில் ஊருக்கு திரும்பியபொழுது எரு முட்டைகளாக இருக்கின்றன. அதோடு ஒரே ஒரு பெட்டியில் "காதற்ற ஊசியும் வாராது காண் கடைவழிக்கே' எனும் துண்டுச்சீட்டும் இருக்கின்றது. அதைப் படித்த பட்டினத்தார் தம் செல்வம் அனைத்தையும் நாட்டு மக்களுக்கு வாரி வழங்கிவிட்டு, துறவறம் மேற்கொள்கிறார்.
பட்டினத்தார் செல்வம் அனைத்தையும் வாரி வழங்குவதைக் கண்ட பேராசை பிடித்த அவருடைய தமக்கையார் அவரைக் கொல்வதற்குத் திட்டம் தீட்டுகிறார். பட்டினத்தாரை வீட்டிற்கு அழைத்து நஞ்சு கலந்த ஆப்பத்தை அவருக்குப் படைக்கிறார். உண்மையை உணர்ந்து கொண்ட அந்த ஞானி, அந்த ஆப்பத்தைப் பிட்டு அக்காள் வீட்டின் கூரையில் மேல் எறிந்தார்.
கூரை பற்றி எரிந்தது. அப்பொழுது பட்டினத்தார், "தன் வினை தன்னைச் சுடும். ஓட்டப்பம் வீட்டைச்சுடும்' எனப் பாடிப் போனார்.
இன்றும் சில பேருடைய பணத்தாசை வீட்டைச் சுட்டது மட்டுமல்லாமல், அவர்கள் பெற்ற பேற்றினையும் புகழையும் சுட்டுக் கொண்டிருக்கிறது.

சாதனை நாயகன்!

ஜார்க்கண்ட் மாநிலத்தில் பிறந்து இந்திய ரயில்வேயில் பயணச் சீட்டு பரிசோதகராக பணிபுரிந்து அந்த வாழ்க்கை தேவையில்லை என உதறிவிட்டு தனது லட்சியமான கிரிக்கெட் நோக்கி பயணப்பட்டார் அந்த இளைஞர்.
இளம் வயதில் கால்பந்தாட்டத்தில் மிகுந்த ஆர்வமிக்கவராக இருந்த அந்த இளைஞர் தனது அணியில் கோல் கீப்பராக இருந்தார்.
ஒரு கட்டத்தில் கிரிக்கெட்டில் விக்கெட் கீப்பர் வாய்ப்பு வர அன்றிலிருந்து கிரிக்கெட்டை முழுமையாக நேசிக்கத் தொடங்கினார். பல்வேறு போராட்டங்களுக்குப் பிறகு இந்திய கிரிக்கெட் அணியில் இடம் பிடித்த அந்த இளைஞர், பாகிஸ்தானுக்கு எதிராக ஒரு நாள் கிரிக்கெட் போட்டியில் பங்கேற்றார்.
யார் இந்த இளைஞர் என்று ரசிகர்கள் பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருந்த வேளையில் 148 ரன்கள் எடுத்து புதிய சாதனை படைத்து ரசிகர்களை மட்டுமல்ல, அனைவரையும் ஆச்சரியப்பட வைத்தார்.
இந்திய கிரிக்கெட் வரலாற்றில் அதுவரை எந்தவொரு விக்கெட் கீப்பரும் அத்தனை ரன்கள் எடுத்ததில்லை.
அடுத்து இலங்கை அணிக்கு எதிரான ஒரு நாள் கிரிக்கெட் போட்டியில் ஆட்டம் இழக்காமல் 183 ரன்கள் எடுத்து தனது முந்தைய சாதனையை முறியடித்து, அனைவரின் பார்வையையும் தன் பக்கம் ஈர்த்தார். அதிலிருந்து தொடர்ந்து பல சாதனைகளை புரியத் தொடங்கினார். அந்த இளைஞருக்கு மிகப் பெரிய ரசிகர் பட்டாளம் உருவானது.
அவருடைய தொடர் சாதனையைக் கண்டு, இந்திய கிரிக்கெட் அணியின் கேப்டன் பதவி அவரைத் தேடி வந்தது. 1983-ஆம் ஆண்டுக்குப் பிறகு உலகக் கோப்பை வெறும் கனவாகவே இருந்து வந்த இந்திய கிரிக்கெட் அணிக்கு, 2011-ஆம் ஆண்டில் மீண்டும் உலகக் கோப்பையைப் பெற்றுக் கொடுத்து கனவை நனவாக்கினார் அந்த சாதனை இளைஞர்.
20 ஓவர் உலகக் கோப்பையையும் அவர் தலைமையிலான இந்திய அணி வென்றது. அதுமட்டுமல்ல, சிறுவயதில் இருந்து தான் மிகவும் நேசித்தவரும், கிரிக்கெட் உலகின் கடவுள் என்று ரசிகர்களால் அன்புடன் அழைக்கப்படுபவருமான சச்சின் தெண்டுல்கருக்கு அந்த வெற்றியை சமர்ப்பித்தார் அந்த இளைஞர்.
கடைசி ஒரு பந்துக்கு 4 ரன் எடுக்க வேண்டும். கடைசி ஒரு ஓவருக்கு 15 ரன்களுக்கு மேல் எடுக்க வேண்டும் என்ற மிக இக்கட்டான சூழ்நிலைகளில் யாரும் எதிர்பார்க்காத சமயத்தில் தன்னை நோக்கி வரும் ஒவ்வொரு பந்தையும் தனக்கே உரிய வித்தியாசமான பாணியில் சிக்ஸராக மாற்றி அநாயாசமாக அணிக்கு வெற்றியைத் தேடி தந்தவர்; தருபவர்.
வெற்றிக் கோப்பையை வைத்துக் கொண்டு சக அணியினர் கேமராவுக்கு முன்பு நின்று மகிழ்ச்சியை வெளிப்படுத்துக் கொண்டிருக்கும் வேளையில், தனக்கும் அந்த வெற்றிக்கும் எந்த சம்பந்தமும் இல்லாதது போல் ஒரு ஓரத்தில் நின்றுகொள்ளும் தன்னடக்கம் நிறைந்தவர்.
எண் கணிதத்தில் 7 என்ற எண் ராசி இல்லாதது என்ற கருத்து உண்டு. ஆனால், 7-ஆம் தேதி பிறந்த அந்த இளைஞர் அந்த எண்ணையே தனது டீ ஷர்ட்டில் பதிந்து கொண்டு, அப்படிப்பட்ட எண்ணம் கொண்டிருந்தவர்களின் எண்ணத்தை மாற்றினார்.
சக அணியினர், எதிர் அணியினர், மைதானத்தில் திரண்டிருக்கும் ரசிகர்கள், தொலைக்காட்சியை கண்சிமிட்டாமல் கன்னத்தில் கைவைத்துக் கொண்டு ஆவலுடன் பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருக்கும் ரசிகர்கள் என்று அனைவரும் தங்கள் உணர்ச்சியை வெளிப்படுத்திக் கொண்டிருக்கும் நேரத்திலும் ஸ்டம்ப்புக்கு பின்னால் நிதானத்துடன் அடுத்து என்ன செய்வது என்று யோசித்துக் கொண்டிருப்பார் அந்த இளைஞர்.
இப்படி தன்னகத்தே பல்வேறு நல்ல குணநலன்களைப் பெற்று, மற்ற இளைஞர்களுக்கு முன்னுதாரணமாக திகழும் அந்த இளைஞர் வேறு யாருமில்லை உலகமே அறிந்த கிரிக்கெட் வீரர் மகேந்திர சிங் தோனி.
டெஸ்ட் போட்டிகளில் இருந்து விலகுவதாக 2014-ஆம் ஆண்டு அறிவித்த தோனி, ஒரு நாள் கிரிக்கெட் போட்டி, டி20 போட்டிகளில் இருந்து விலகுவதாக சில தினங்களுக்கு முன்பு அறிவித்தார்.
இவரது முடிவைக் கேட்டு கோடிக்கணக்கான கிரிக்கெட் ரசிகர்கள் அதிர்ச்சிக்குள்ளாகி உள்ளனர்.
"உன் தலைமை இல்லா ஆடுகளம் வெறும் ஆடாகளம்'. "கடைசி பந்தில் நீங்கள் சிக்ஸர் அடித்தபோது கண்ணீர் மல்க ஆடிப் பாடிக் கொண்டாடியதை இன்னும் மறக்கல' என்று ரசிகர்களின் குமுறல்களை சமூக வலைதளங்களில் படிக்க முடிகிறது.
தோனி எப்போதும் ஒரு முடிவை ஆழ்ந்து யோசித்த பின்னரே எடுக்கக் கூடியவர்.
அவரது இந்த திடீர் முடிவை கிரிக்கெட் ஜாம்பவான்கள் பலரும் வரவேற்றுள்ளனர்.
"அவரது முடிவைக் கண்டு நான் ஆச்சரியப்படவில்லை. மற்றவர்களின் தூண்டுதல் இல்லாமல், தனக்கு தோன்றுவதை தானே தீர்மானிக்கும் தோனியின் முடிவை எப்போதும் வரவேற்பேன்' என்று இந்திய கிரிக்கெட் அணிக்கு முதல்முதலில் உலகக் கோப்பையை பெற்றுத் தந்த கபில்தேவ் கூறியிருக்கிறார்.
தோனியின் இடத்தை இனி யாராலும் பூர்த்தி செய்ய முடியாது என்பது மறுக்க முடியாத உண்மை. அவரின் முடிவை வரவேற்போம். தோனி தொடர்ந்து கிரிக்கெட்டில் பல சாதனைகளை புரிய வாழ்த்துவோம்.

சில தனியார் பள்ளிகள் 100 சதவீத தேர்ச்சியை காட்ட வேண்டும் என்ற நோக்கில் சில முறைகேடுகளில் ஈடுபடுவதாக தேர்வுத்துறைக்கு பல புகார்கள் வந்துள்ளன. தனியார் பள்ளிகள் 100 சதவீதம் காட்டினால்தான் அடுத்த ஆண்டு அதிக அளவில் அந்த பள்ளியில் சேர வருவார்கள் என்ற வணிக நோக்கில் செயல்படுகின்றன. அதற்காக, தேர்வு எழுதும் மாணவர்களுக்கு பல ஆலோசனைகளை தனியார் பள்ளிகள் தெரிவித்து வருகின்றன.குறிப்பாக பொறியியல், மருத்துவம் போன்ற தொழிற்கல்வி படிப்புக்கு உரிய பாடத் தேர்வில் இடம்பெறும் கேள்விகள் குழப்பமாக இருந்தாலோ, மாணவர்களால் விடையளிக்க முடியாத நிலை ஏற்பட்டாலோ அந்த மாணவர்கள் குறிப்பிட்ட அந்த தேர்வில் குறைவான மதிப்பெண் பெற்றுவிடுவார்கள். அதனால்,மதிப்பெண் குறையும் என்று தெரிந்தால், விடைகளை அடித்துவிட்டு விடைத்தாளை கொடுத்துவிட்டு வந்துவிட வேண்டும் என்றும், பின்னர் நடக்கும் உடனடித் தேர்வை எழுதலாம் என்றும் ஆலோசனை கூறி வருவதாகவும் புகாரில் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

இதையடுத்து, எந்த ஒரு மாணவரும் தேர்வு எழுதிய பிறகு விடைத்தாளின் அனைத்து பக்கங்களையும் பேனாவால் அடித்து விட்டு கொடுத்தால், அப்படிப்பட்ட மாணவர்கள் குறித்து விவரங்களை அறைக் கண்காணிப்பாளர், தேர்வு மைய கண்காணிப்பாளர்கள் உடனடியாகதேர்வுத் துறை இயக்குநருக்கு கட்டாயம் தெரிவிக்க வேண்டும் என்று அறிவுரை கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது. இதுபோன்ற செயல்களில் ஈடுபடும் மாணவர்கள் அடுத்தடுத்து நடக்கும் 2 தேர்வுகளில் அனுமதிக்கப்பட மாட்டார்கள் என்றும் தேர்வுத்துறை தெரிவித்துள்ளது.

மருத்துவமனைக்கு மொபைல்போன் கொண்டு செல்லாதீர்கள் : விஞ்ஞானிகள் எச்சரிக்கை

ஐதராபாத் : மருத்துவமனையில் நோயாளிகள் இருக்கும் அறை அல்லது அவசர சிகிச்சை பிரிவுக்குள் மொபைல் போன்களை யாரும் எடுத்துச் செல்ல வேண்டாம் என விஞ்ஞானிகள் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர்.

நோயாளிகளை பாதிக்கும்:

இது தொடர்பாக ஆய்வு நடத்திய விஞ்ஞானிகள் கூறியதாவது: மொபைல் போன்களில் அதிக அளவில் தீங்கு விளைவிக்கும் பாக்டீரியாக்களும், வைரஸ்களும் காணப்படுவதால், அவைகள் எளிதில் நோய்களை பரப்பக் கூடியவை. அதனால் மருத்துவமனைகளுக்குள் மொபைல் போன் எடுத்துச் செல்பது நோயாளியை கடுமையாக பாதிக்கும் என விஞ்ஞானிகள் எச்சரித்துள்ளனர். டாக்டர்களும், நர்ஸ்களும் கூட மருத்துவமனைக்குள் மொபைல் போன்களை கொண்டு வர வேண்டாம் என கேட்டுக் கொண்டுள்ளனர். மொபைல் போன்களில் காணப்படும் பாக்டீரியாக்களும், வைரஸ்களும் ஆன்டிபயாடிக் மருந்துகளின் மீதும் கிருமியை உருவாக்கும் திறன் கொண்டவை. இவ்வாறு அவர்கள் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர்.
இது தொடர்பாக நடத்தப்பட்ட 3 ஆய்வுகளின் அறிக்கைகள் சமீபத்தில் திருப்பதியில் நடந்த அறிவியல் மாநாட்டில் வெளியிடப்பட்டன. மருத்துவமனையில் டாக்டர்கள் மற்றும் நர்ஸ்கள் பயன்படுத்தும் மொபைல் போன் கீபோர்டுகளில் இருந்து மட்டும் ஏறக்குறைய 100 பாக்டீரியா குழுக்களின் மாதிரிகள் எடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. முறையாக கைகளை சுத்தம் செய்யாமல் மொபைல் போன்களை பயன்படுத்தும் போது, மொபைல் போன் டிவைஸ்களில் ஏற்கனவே உள்ள பாக்டீரியாக்களுடன், இவைகளும் இணைந்து நோய் கிருமிகளை எளிதில் ஏற்படுத்துகின்றன என தெரியவந்துள்ளது.

MCI seeks opinion from states on increasing retirement age of faculty in medical colleges

The Medical Council of India (MCI) has sought the opinion of state government of Telangana to increase the retirement age of faculty in medical colleges up to 70 years. However, sources said that the state health ministry is expected to come up with a proposal to increase it up to 65 years.  “MCI has sought the government’s opinion on increasing the retirement age of faculty in medical colleges. We are studying the pros and cons of increasing the retirement age of the faculty. After detailed discussion we will come up with a final decision which will be announced soon,” said a senior officer from the health department. At present the current retirement age of teaching faculty in medical colleges is 58 years, and as many as 400 doctors and teaching professors are expected to get retired by the end of 2017. This would create a big void for the teaching faculty in medical colleges as the state government has not appointed new teaching faculty in the medical colleges. “Already there is a shortage of faculty in medical colleges; with more doctors and professors getting retired it will further hit the medical education in the state. Therefore the government should either increase the retirement age as proposed by the MCI or should recruit adequate number of teaching faculty in the medical colleges to save the medical education in the state,” observed Dr Kukashekar Rao, a retired professor from ophthalmology department at Gandhi Hospital. Already about 176 doctors and teaching faculty have retired during the year 2016 and if the state government further ignores the issue it may adversely impact on the medical education in the state. In all the 5 government medical colleges of Osmania, Gandhi, Mahabubnagar,  Nizamabad and Kakatiya, there are about 2,500 faculty members working as professors, associate professors, assistant professors and tutors. According to data with the director of health and medical education, two professors are retiring every month. There is no professor for anatomy, pharmacology, anaesthesia, general medicine and physiology in Osmania, Kakatiya and Nizamabad Medical Colleges. Associate professors have been made in-charge professors and are teaching at the colleges and monitoring at the hospitals. A senior associate professor said, “We have been made in-charge professors and given the work of professors. To qualify as a professor we need to do research and submit the thesis which must be accepted and published in a medical journal. This procedure has to be followed strictly but that is not the case now.” Keeping all this in view, the state government is in favour of increasing the age to 62 or 65. “Before sending our proposal to MCI we are holding discussions with all stake holders and weighing on pros and cons. Few persons have also raised concerns that existing junior staff may lose promotions if the retirement age is increased. So we will take a final call only after a detailed analysis,” informed Dr. C. Laxma Reddy, Minister for Health and Family welfare, Government of Telangana.

இத்தனை குரூப்கள் மூலம் எதாவது சாதிக்க முடிகிறதா?

“இந்தக் குழுக்கள் மூலம் தமிழகம் முழுவதும் உள்ள ஆசிரியர்கள் ஒருங்கிணைக்கப்பட்டு, கற்றல், கற்பித்தலில் புதிய உத்திகளையும் பாடப்பகுதிக்கான வினாத்தாள்கள், குறிப்புகள், விளக்கங்களையும் உடனுக்குடன் பகிர்ந்துகொள்கிறார்கள். இந்த குரூப்பில் பகிரப்பட்ட 1300 கணித ஃபார்முலாக்கள் அடக்கிய தகவல் இன்றைக்கு 90% அரசு பள்ளிக்கூடங்களில் பயன்படுத்தப்படுகிறது. இந்த வாட்ஸ்அப் தளத்தில் ஓர் ஆசிரியர் பயன்படுத்திய வித்தியாசமான அணுகுமுறைகளை அனைத்து ஆசிரியர்களும் கடைப்பிடித்துக் கற்றுக்கொடுப்பதை எளிமையாகச் செய்கிறார்கள். வாட்ஸ்அப்பில் நிறைய தகவல்கள் பகிர்ந்துகொள்வதால் ஆசிரியர்கள் வீட்டுக்குச் சென்ற பிறகும் கற்றல் கற்பித்தல் செயல் தொடர்ந்து நடைபெறுகிறது. இந்த குரூப்பின் மூலம் ஆசிரியர்களும் மாணவர்களும் பெருமளவில் பயனடைகிறார்கள்” என்கிறார்.

தொழில்நுட்பத்தை ஆக்கபூர்வமாக பயன்படுத்தி அரசு பள்ளியில் படிக்கும் மாணவர்களது முன்னேற்றத்துக்கு உதவும் ஆசிரியரை வாழ்த்துவோம்.

Approach med varsity: HC to suspended student

CHENNAI: Arun Louis Sasikumar, a fourth-year student of Christian Medical College in Vellore, who has been suspended from college for allegedly torturing and killing a monkey, was on Thursday directed by the Madras High Court to approach TN Dr MGR Medical University to permit him to write the final exam scheduled for February.

Justice B Rajendran gave the direction while disposing of a writ petition from Arun. The judge said he could only direct the petitioner to approach the university with a representation seeking permission to write the exam, at this stage. Since the last date for remitting exam fees along with fine is February 1, the judge directed him to give a representation immediately by tomorrow (January 6) itself.

On receipt of the same, the University will consider it independently as to whether the student, who was involved in a crime at the stage of FIR can be permitted to write the examination and also with liberty of keeping his results not published and whether all things could be decided independently.

“During consideration, the last date for payment of fees made shall not be taken into consideration,” the judge added and disposed of the petition.

COURT RELIEF FOR STUDENT WHO PUT CAM IN LADIES’ LOO

The high court has revoked the suspension from college of a marine geology student who is accused of planting a mobile phone as a camera in one of the ladies toilet of the Mangalore University. The court took this decision as the suspension “will spoil his future, which is more horrible than the punishment that would be given if the charges are proved”. A criminal case is pending against the student and the police are yet to file a charge sheet before the trial court. But he has been kept under suspension by the University since September 15. The revoking of the suspension will allow the student to take up exams.

Santhosh M, 22, is a II year student of MSc (marine geology). The mobile phone without a SIM card but attached to a power bank was found hidden in the bio-sciences block on August 24 this year. Based on a complaint by the Registrar of Mangalore University, Santhosh was arrested on September 14. He managed to get bail. But the following day, the University suspended him from college, barring him from attending classes.

Santhosh approached the HC against the suspension and claimed that the Registrar had no powers to punish him with rustication. Such an order can be passed only by the head of the college or hostel or institution concerned, the court was told. The university, however, told the court that till the police file a charge sheet, “it is not appropriate to revoke the suspension order.”

The HC in its judgment noted that the suspension is not a final order and also that it has been passed to keep Santhosh away from tampering with witnesses. However, it is for the police to file the charge sheet and if he is kept away from classes till that time, it would spoil his future. He has been under suspension from September 15 and such a long absence would be a far greater punishment for him than that could be given if the case against him is proved. For this reason, the suspension order was set aside.

The HC said that suspension of a candidate from attending classes can be taken only after a domestic enquiry keeping in mind that he may tamper witnesses. But in the present case, there is no domestic enquiry and there is only a criminal case that the police are still investigating.

The court further ordered that even if it is late, Santhosh should be allowed to pay the examination fee and permitted to write the exams. Santhosh is to make a representation to the university to condone the delay and also if there is any shortage of attendance.

“Since it is a special case, the respondent-university is directed to consider the application for condonation of shortage of attendance,” as he has been kept under suspension from attending classes, the HC said in its judgment. The police have booked Santhosh for voyeurism. They managed to zero in on Santhosh after watching CCTV footage in which he was seen entering the ladies toilet.

வாட்ஸ் அப் தகவலால் பஸ்சில் தவறவிட்ட 1½ வயது குழந்தை 40 நிமிடத்தில் தாயிடம் ஒப்படைப்பு

திருப்பூர் பழைய பஸ் நிலையத்தில் இருந்து கொடுவாய்க்கு ஒரு தனியார் பஸ் புறப்பட்டது. செட்டிபாளையம் அருகே சென்றபோது பஸ் இருக்கையில் 1½ வயது ஆண் குழந்தை தனியாக அழுதப்படி உட்கார்ந்திருந்தது.

இதை கண்ட பஸ் பயணிகள் சிலர் கண்டக்டரிடம் தகவல் தெரிவித்தனர். குழந்தையின் பெற்றோர் யார்? என விசாரித்தனர். ஆனால் யாரும் குழந்தை குறித்து எதுவும் கூறவில்லை. இதனால் குழந்தையை செட்டிபாளையம் செக் போஸ்ட் போலீசாரிடம் ஒப்படைத்தனர். இதைதொடர்ந்து போலீசார், அந்த வழியாக வந்த வாகனங்களை நிறுத்தி குழந்தை குறித்து விசாரித்தனர்.

அப்போது சில வாகன ஓட்டிகள், குழந்தையை போட்டோ எடுத்து வாட்ஸ் அப் மூலமாக தங்களது நண்பர்களுக்கு அனுப்பி வைத்தனர்.

இந்த வாட்ஸ் அப் தகவலை புதூர் பிரிவில் டிபார்மென்டல் ஸ்டோர் நடத்தி வரும் சசி என்பவர் பார்த்தார். குழந்தையை அப்பகுதியில் அடிக்கடி பார்த்திருப்பதாக போலீசாருக்கு தகவல் கொடுத்தார். இதனால் அப்பகுதிக்கு சென்ற போலீசார் , குழந்தையின் பெற்றோர் குறித்து விசாரித்தனர்.

இதில் அதே பகுதியை சேர்ந்த துர்காதேவி என்ற பெண்ணின் குழந்தை என தெரிய வந்தது.

இதையடுத்து துர்காதேவியை கண்டு பிடித்து குழந்தையை போலீசார் ஒப்படைத்தனர்.

இதுபற்றி தாய் துர்கா தேவி கூறும் போது, எனது கணவர் ரமேஷ் மனநிலை பாதித்தவர் ஆவார். நான் வேலைக்கு சென்றதால் குழந்தையை எனது தாயிடம் விட்டு சென்றேன். அப்போது கணவர் குழந்தையை எடுத்து கொண்டு பஸ்சில் சென்றுள்ளார். பின்னர் திடீரென செட்டி பாளையத்தில் இறங்கிய போது குழந்தையை மறந்து விட்டார். நாங்கள் குழந்தையை காணாமல் தவித்து கொண்டிருந்தோம்.

நல்லவேளையாக வாட்ஸ் அப் போட்டோ மூலம் தகவல் சென்றதால் குழந்தையை மீட்ட போலீசார் என்னிடம் ஒப்படைத்து விட்டனர்.

இவ்வாறு அவர் கூறினார்.

வாட்ஸ் அப் தகவலால் பஸ்சில் விட்டு சென்ற குழந்தை 40 நிமிடத்தில் தாயிடம் ஒப்படைக்கப்பட்டது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

The Delhi High Court, while dismissing a civil suit for defamation against an administrator of a social media group, observed that he cannot be made liable for defamatory statements made by any other member of the group. Justice Rajiv Sahai Endlaw said: “I am unable to understand as to how the administrator of a group can be held liable for defamation even if any, by the statements made by a member of the group.” The court said that making an administrator of an online platform liable for defamation would be akin to making the manufacturer of the newsprint on which defamatory statements are published liable for defamation. “When an online platform is created, the creator, thereof, cannot expect any of the members thereof to indulge in defamation and defamatory statements made by any member of the group cannot make the administrator liable therefore. It is not as if without the administrator’s approval of each of the statements, the statements cannot be posted by any of the members of the group on the said platform,” the court observed. The administrator of Telegram and a Google group, where some defamatory statements were allegedly made by some members, was made defendant to the suit. In Sheopur area of Madhya Pradesh, a farmer received on Thursday Rs 2,000 notes without the image of Mahatma Gandhi. The notes were from State Bank of India (SBI) of the region.

However, R K Jain, an SBI officer clarified that it was a misprint and not fake currency as initially speculated. He added that the notes have been sent for probing.

NEET PG 2017 Results expected next week, combined counselling at State level

The results of NEET PG 2017 are expected to be released next week January 15, 2017 for the exam conducted from December 5 to December 13, 2016. Once the results are out the combined counselling will be done at State level. The scheme of All India Quota Post Graduate Courses online Counseling (allotment process)  has been revised.  All  candidates are  requested  to  go through  the  revised  scheme  carefully  and  understand  before  participating  in online counseling (allotment process). The process of online allotment will include main counseling registration, exercising of choices, indicative seat allotment process and locking of choices. After which the process of seat allotment for round I and results will be published of round I.

The reporting at the allotted medical/dental college against 1^st Round process of seat allotment-round 2 will be done after declaration of the result. The result will be published of round 2. It is very important to keep certain information confidential like details on admit card, information on the application form to avoid misuse by others. Aspirants who have been allotted seats will need to join the allotted college/course with stipulated time from the date of allotment as per the counseling schedule. NEET PG 2017 will be valid for All India 50% Quota seats for MD/MS/PG Diploma courses in all states except in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Jammu & Kashmir (as these 3 states do not participate in all India quota pool). The State quota seats for MD/MS/PG Diploma courses for all states and Union territories of India include Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Jammu & Kashmir.

Clear NEXT before attaching a tag of 'Doctor'

The Union Health Ministry’s draft Indian Medical Council (Amendment) Act, 2016, which seeks to introduce the National Exit Test (NEXT), a licensing or qualifying exam, for MBBS graduates to qualify themselves as doctors and to secure registration for clinical practice, has drawn flak from medical fraternity and students from all over India, including Maharashtra.

A high-level committee headed by NITI Aayog vice-chairman, Arvind Panagariya, has also proposed to replace the Medical Council of India with the National Medical Council, which will be a policy-making body for medical education comprising a chairperson, nine ex-officio members and 10 part-time members.

NEXT is being introduced to standardise and create a level-playing field in medical education. It is expected to substitute three tests, including NEET for postgraduate admissions and the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) and facilitate recruitment for Central Health Services. The MBBS graduates will have to pass the NEXT to use 'Dr' tag and start clinical practice. The move is on the lines of the test conducted by the Bar Council of India for law graduates before they are allowed to start practice. Under NEXT, besides existing 50 per cent constitutional reservations at the undergraduate and post-graduate (PG) entry level, an additional 50 per cent seats will be reserved at PG level for those serving in government hospitals in rural areas. The results of how students from individual colleges have performed in NEXT will be made public.

Even as the deadline for submitting suggestions/objections is going to end on Friday, the website of Indian Medical Association IMA) is flooded with the protests from the medical fraternity and students.

Dr. Jayesh Lele, President, Indian Medical Association (Maharashtra) said, “The NEXT will create further confusion and will destabilise the existing system. It will also discourage students from pursuing a career in medicine. The draft's provisions are suitable for an economy of excess that has an adequate number of doctors and certainly not to our country where already there is a shortage of doctors. We are opposed to this and have forwarded our comments to the IMA.”

Dr. Sagar Mundada, President of the Youth wing of the IMA said,“As it is the students go through the rigorous examination like NEET. The MBBS course is five and a half years, including one year of internship. The students are also required to sign bond with the state government, for serving anywhere in the state for one year, specifically in rural areas. Thus six and a half years pass by, before one can start clinical practice. Now if one has to clear NEXT, the students will be engaged for one more year in studies instead of getting on the job training. And if by chance a student fails to qualify NEXT, he/she will have to sit at home for one more year, since the NEXT will be held only once in a year. Basically, a continuous evaluation process for medical students goes on all through the five and a half years and all the examinations are held under the guidance of the government controlled bodies like the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences. Taking a NEXT exam at the end makes the university exams and assessments redundant. This also could mean that the government controlled bodies have no recognition. We have communicated our opposition to NEXT to the IMA. If there is no amicable solution, we will be left with no option but to approach the court.”

Dr. Niranjan Chavan, Professor and Unit Chief LTMMC and Sion Hospital said, “If a student wants to do post-graduation, he/she has to do internships for two years and work as an Assistance Medical Officer (AMO) in Government hospitals. Even after doing all this, there is no certainty, because out of 100 students hardly 5 to 6 students get PG seats. The examination for third year MBBS is conducted by reputed institutes including AIIMS, deemed universities and government universities. Do the authorities want to derecognise all these institutes?. After passing through all these hurdles, a medical student can settle in life only after 30-32 years of age. With these type of moves, I am sure there will be more shortage of doctors. There are no such fire tests for engineering. Then why more and more stringent tests are introduced for medical.? Under such circumstances the NEXT seems to be irrelevant and uncalled for.”

In the meanwhile, the Kerala branch of IMA has decided to submit a mass petition signed by all medical students to the Centre, on January 11. Similar petitions are also expected from other states, including Maharashtra.

10 medical, dental students booked for ragging in Sullia

The Sullia Police on Wednesday arrested 10 students of KVG Medical College and KVG Dental College on the charge of ragging and under the provisions of the Indian Penal Code. The victims as well as the accused are from Kerala.

According to the police, the accused students allegedly ragged Nishanth (20), second year MBBS student, and his friends Ashish, Rishad, Sharath, Manu, Arun, Prabin and Manar on December 28, 2016. Nishanth initially lodged a complaint with the college principal on Monday and later approached the police on Tuesday with the complaint, the police said.

The police gave the names of the accused as Krishna Kumar, a native of Vatakantara village, Palakkad; Kannan, Chilavara village, Palakkad; Farhan Muhammed, Venjarmud village, Thiruvananthapuram; Sanjay Krishnan, Vayalar, Alappuzha; Vasim Juber, Papamsheri, Kottayam; Nibin Rahim, Sasthamkota, Kollam; Neeraj Raviprasad, Kannamangalam, Malappuram (all MBBS students); Able Roy, Kolathur, Thiruvananthapuram; Jatin Jose, Teekoi, Kottayam, and Amal Raj, Audr, Pathanamthitta (all BDS students).

The accused were produced before the jurisdictional magistrate court in Sullia and were later enlarged on bail, the police said.

They have been charged with rioting, unlawful assembly, wrongful confinement, voluntarily causing hurt, intentionally causing insult and criminal intimidation under the Indian Penal Code and ragging under Section 116 of the Karnataka Education Act 1983.

According to the complainant, he and his friends were summoned to the room of accused Kannan on the night of December 28. The victims were confined inside the room even as the accused hurled abuses at them stating that juniors did not know how to respect senior students. Some of the victims were assaulted too.

On hearing some people approaching the room, the victims were let off, only to be summoned back to be threatened that they would be “killed” if the incident were to be made public, the complainant said.
