How to secure your WhatsApp from getting hacked

It is very easy to hack your information as WhatsApp doesn’t secure your data.

WhatsApp is now working on securing your data but this will take some time and until then you need to be that extra bit cautious about your phone.

WhatsApp is one of the most commonly used messenger service across the world. This server has very little security and hence can be hacked very easily.

There are two ways to hack a WhatsApp device: through IMEI number and through Wi-Fi.

How to save WhatsApp from Wi-Fi hacking?

WhatsApp doesn’t have a very secure server, so avoid using WhatsApp when on Wi-Fi.

Generally, Android and Apple devices that use WhatsApp do not have any security. It is Blackberry devices that are extremely safe as they use their own server, while others use the WhatsApp server.

So, generally, avoid using Wi-Fi for WhatsApp, if and whenever it is possible.

In a situation, where you do not have internet connection and Wi-Fi is the only option, use the Wi-Fi network and then ensure that you go to Settings-Chat-Settings-Clear All Conversations.

By doing this, you will lose out on all the messages, but this will help your data free from being accessible to anyone else. Always make this as a habit. All the media files will be saved on your phone, so you aren’t losing any of your media file data.

How to save WhatsApp from IMEI hacking?

Do not give your device to stranger who is curious to know how your new phone functions and how classy your smartphone looks.

Avoid sharing your phone number with such people and do not let them see your IMEI number on the phone. One can easily read the IMEI number without even opening the phone.

Dial *#06# and press the call key. Your IMEI number will flash on your screen.

Never share your IMEI number and avoid keeping your phone out at places where it can be accessible to others. Once the user has your IMEI number, he or she can easily hack your device and read all your messages.

Each and every device’s WhatsApp account is associated with IMEI number as the password so whenever anyone changes her/his device (changing from one phone to other, from phone to tab etc. for example from iPhone 5S to iPhone 6), WhatsApp sends the notification and asks to re-verify the account.

In these cases, the data is transferred from the back up, which means all your collected data is read by others.

No visa needed for PIOs coming for surrogacy

Just permission from Foreign Registration Office will do

Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) can fly to the country without a medical visa for commissioning surrogacy. Foreigners will, however, have to continue obtaining a visa.

A Home Ministry order says a couple with an OCI or PIO card, married for at least two years, would have to take permission only from the Foreigners’ Regional Registration Office (FRRO) or the Foreigners’ Registration Office (FRO). They must, however, carry a letter from their country, issued by the Foreign Ministry or the Embassy here, saying it recognised surrogacy and that the child born thus would be permitted entry as the couple’s biological offspring.

The couple should furnish an undertaking that they would take care of the child. Treatment should be done only at registered assisted reproductive technology clinics recognised by the Indian Council of Medical Research. The couple will have to produce a notarised agreement between them and the prospective surrogate mother.

Before granting the child exit, the FRRO/FRO will confirm that the couple had taken the required permission and certificates for commissioning surrogacy, and liabilities due to the surrogate mother have been settled. The office will retain a copy of the birth certificate.

The wife of a foreign national or an OCI/PIO cardholder who is not involved in the treatment may not require a specific medical visa.

The OCI card is issued to foreign nationals who were eligible to become citizens of India on January 26, 1950, or were Indian citizens on or after that date with eligibility based on lineage. The PIO card is issued to a person of Indian origin who is a citizen of any country other than Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Afghanistan, China or Nepal or who has held an Indian passport at any time or is the spouse of an Indian citizen or a Person of Indian Origin.

UGC to select 3 varsities for Rs 150 crore grant

Chennai: With aim to recognise and increase society oriented research output from state government universities, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has decided to select three varsities in the country and confer university of excellence (UE) status and award `150 crore to develop the institution.

“There are 15 universities in the country, including University of Madras and Madurai Kamaraj University which have already been conferred with the University with Potential of Excellence (UPE) status. Now we are in the process of selecting another 15 for the UPE status. We have received 31 applications for it, including Bharathidasan and Bharathiar universities from Tamil Nadu,” UGC vice-chairman Prof. H. Devaraj said after delivering the convocation address at University of Madras on Friday.

Pointing out that the commission would select top three universities from the 15 old UPE institutions, Prof.Devaraj said that the commission would take its final decision based on several parameters like number of doctorates, society oriented research, number of qualified faculty and vacant faculty posts, among others.

“We will also check the IQ levels of the vice-chancellors before conferring the University of Excellence status,” he said.

The UGC vice-chairman said that the commission has introduced Basic-Science Research (BSR) faculty fellowship meant for active senior faculty nearing superannuation, with proven track record, to enable continuance of their productive research career in varsities for a longer period.

Prof. Devaraj commended TN government’s effort in increasing the gross enrolment ratio in higher education to 38 per cent. A total of 400 graduands received their degrees during the convocation ceremony on Friday.

லிட்டருக்கு ரூ.10 கூடுதல் ஆவின் பால் விலை உயர்வு இன்று அமலுக்கு வந்தது

தமிழக அரசு சார்ந்த நிறுவனமான ‘ஆவின்’ மூலம் வினியோகிக்கப்படும் பால் விலை நவம்பர் 1–ந்தேதி முதல் லிட்டருக்கு ரூ.10 அதிகரிக்கப்படும் என்று தமிழக அரசு கடந்த வாரம் அறிவித்தது. இந்த விலை உயர்வுக்கு தமிழகத்தில் உள்ள அனைத்து எதிர்க்கட்சிகளும் எதிர்ப்பு தெரிவித்துவிட்டன. பால் கொள்முதல் விலையை லிட்டருக்கு ரூ.3 உயர்த்திவிட்டு, விற்பனை விலையை மட்டும் லிட்டருக்கு ரூ.10 உயர்த்துவதா? என்று கேள்வி எழுப்பப்பட்டது.

பால் விலை உயர்வை கண்டித்து தி.மு.க. திங்கட்கிழமை போராட்டம் நடத்த இருக்கிறது. பிரதான எதிர்க்கட்சியான தே.மு.தி.க., பாரதீய ஜனதா, கம்யூனிஸ்டு கட்சிகள் போன்றவை பால் விலை உயர்வை கண்டித்து போராட்டங்கள் நடத்தியுள்ளன. ஆனால் அரசு அறிவித்தபடி பால் விலை உயர்வு இன்று அமலுக்கு வந்தது. பால் விலை உயர்வால் ஓட்டல்கள், டீக்கடைகளில் டீ, காபி விலையும் உயரும் என்று கருதப்படுகிறது. பால் மூலம் தயாரிக்கப்படும் இனிப்பு வகைகளும் விலை உயரக்கூடும்.

திருமணம் என்பது சொர்க்கத்தில் நிச்சயிக்கப்படுகிறது என்று உலகம் முழுவதிலும் சொல்லும் வழக்கு மொழி உண்டு. திருமணங்கள் சொர்க்கத்தில் நிச்சயிக்கப்படுகிறதோ, இல்லையோ, குடும்பங்களில் உறவுகள் வலுப்படும் இடமாக திருமணங்கள் இருப்பதுபோல, அரசியல் கட்சிகள் இடையே புதிய நட்புகள் உருவாகும் இடமாகவும், ஏன் கூட்டணிகள் உருவாவதற்கு அச்சாரம் போடும் இடமாகவும் மாறிவிடுகிறது. அதை உறுதிப்படுத்தும் ஒரு நிகழ்வு சென்னையில் நடந்த பாட்டாளி மக்கள் கட்சி நிறுவனர் டாக்டர் ராமதாசின் பேத்தி சம்யுக்தா சவுமியா அன்புமணி–ப்ரித்தீவன் பரசுராமன் ஆகியோரின் திருமண வரவேற்பின்போதும், திருமணத்தன்றும் நடந்தது.

அரசியலில் நிரந்தர நண்பர்களும் இல்லை, நிரந்தர எதிரிகளும் இல்லை என்பார்கள். ஆனால், தமிழக அரசியல் ஒரு வித்தியாசமான நிலையில் தற்போது உள்ளது. ஒவ்வொரு தேர்தலின்போதும், கூட்டணிகள் மாறுபடும். அப்போது, புதிது புதியதாக கூட்டணிகள் உருவாகும். நேற்றுவரை நண்பர்களாக இருந்து, நட்புக்கு இவர்கள்தான் அடையாளம் என்ற வகையில், பாசப்பிணைப்பில் ஒருவரிடம் ஒருவர் அன்பு ஒழுக பழகுவார்கள், பேசுவார்கள். அதேபோல, எதிர் முகாமில் இருப்பவர்கள் அடுத்த முகாமில் உள்ள கட்சியினரை பரமஎதிரிகளாக கருதுவார்கள்.

1977–ம் ஆண்டு சட்டசபை தேர்தலில் அ.தி.மு.க. பெருவாரியாக வெற்றிபெற்று, திருநாவுக்கரசர் துணை சபாநாயகராக இருந்தார். அவர் திருமணத்துக்கு, மறைந்த புரட்சிதலைவர் எம்.ஜி.ஆர்., எதிர்க்கட்சி தலைவராக இருந்த கருணாநிதியையும் நேரில் அழைத்து வரச்சொல்லி, அதுபோல திருமணத்திற்கு கருணாநிதியும் வந்து வாழ்த்தினார். இதுபோல, அரசியல் கட்சித்தலைவர்கள் அரசியலில்தான் எதிரிகளாக இருந்தார்களே தவிர, அதைத்தாண்டி தனிப்பட்ட வாழ்க்கையில் நட்புடன்தான் இருந்து வந்தார்கள்.

இந்த நிலையில், பாட்டாளி மக்கள் கட்சி நிறுவனர் டாக்டர் ராமதாசும், டாக்டர் அன்புமணி ராமதாசும் தங்கள் இல்ல திருமணத்திற்கு அரசியல் கட்சி மாச்சாரியங்களை கடந்து, அனைவரையும் நேரில் சென்று அழைப்பு விடுத்தார்கள். அதுபோல, கட்சி வேறுபாடு இல்லாமல் தி.மு.க. தலைவர் கருணாநிதி கண் வலியோடு சென்றதும், பிரிந்தவர் கூடினால் பேசவும் வேண்டுமோ என்பதற்கு ஏற்ப அவரும், டாக்டர் ராமதாசும் அரசியலுக்கு அப்பாற்பட்டு தங்கள் நட்பின் வலிமைபற்றி பெருமையாக பேசியதும், எதிரும் புதிருமாக இருந்த மு.க.ஸ்டாலினும், வைகோவும் ஒருவரையொருவர் தேடிச்சென்று பேசியதும், அமையப்போகும் கூட்டணியில் ம.தி.மு.க.வும் இடம் பெறும் என்ற சூசகமான தகவலை சமுதாயத்திற்கு எடுத்து காட்டியதும் ஒரு மகிழ்ச்சியான அரசியலை எடுத்து காட்டும் வகையில் இருந்தது. நிச்சயமாக, இதுபோன்ற மாற்று கட்சியினரின் குடும்ப விழாக்களில் கலந்து கொள்வதன் மூலம், அரசியலில் நாகரிகத்தை மேம்படுத்தி, தேவையற்ற வெப்பத்தையும், கசப்பு உணர்வுகளையும் மாற்றமுடியும். எதிர்க்கட்சிகள் ஒருபோதும் எதிரி கட்சிகளாக இருக்க தேவையில்லை.

மூன்று முறைக்கு மேல் பணம் எடுத்தால், ஒவ்வொரு முறையும், இன்று முதல், 20 ரூபாய் கட்டணம் செலுத்த வேண்டியிருக்கும்.

இந்தியா முழுவதும், 1.6 லட்சம் ஏ.டி.எம்.,கள் உள்ளன. தற்போது, பெரும்பாலான மக்கள், ஏ.டி.எம்.,கள் மூலமாகத் தான் பண பரிவர்த்தனையை மேற்கொள்கின்றனர். இந்நிலையில், ஏ.டி.எம்., பராமரிப்பு பணிகள் அதிகரித்துள்ளதால், அவற்றிலிருந்து பணம் எடுப்பதற்கான கட்டணத்தை உயர்த்தும்படி, அனைத்து வங்கிகளுக்கும் ரிசர்வ் வங்கி, சமீபத்தில் உத்தரவிட்டு இருந்தது. இதுவரை, வாடிக்கையாளர்களின் கணக்கு உள்ள வங்கிகளுக்கு சொந்தமான ஏ.டி.எம்.,களில், மாதத்துக்கு ஐந்து முறை மட்டுமே, கட்டணமின்றி பணம் எடுக்கலாம். இன்று முதல், ஐந்து முறைக்கு மேல் பணம் எடுத்தால், ஒவ்வொரு முறையும், 20 ரூபாய் கட்டணம் செலுத்த வேண்டியிருக்கும்.

அதேபோல், கணக்கு இல்லாத பிற வங்கிகளுக்கு சொந்தமான ஏ.டி.எம்.,களில், இதுவரை, ஐந்து முறை கட்டணமின்றி இலவசமாக பணம் எடுக்கலாம் என்ற நிலை இருந்தது. இன்று முதல், மூன்று முறை மட்டுமே கட்டணமின்றி பணம் எடுக்க முடியும். மூன்று முறைக்கு மேல், பணம் எடுத்தால், ஒவ்வொரு முறையும், 20 ரூபாய் கட்டணம் செலுத்த நேரிடும்.டில்லி, மும்பை, கோல்கட்டா, சென்னை, ஐதராபாத், பெங்களூரு ஆகிய நகரங்களில் இந்த நடைமுறை இன்று முதல் அமலுக்கு வருகிறது.
