NTA has issued detailed NEET 2025 rules, including dress code, items allowed, barred items, and exam day instructions. Candidates must follow guidelines strictly to avoid cancellation of candidature.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the rules and regulations for the NEET UG 2025 exam. These guidelines are crucial for all medical aspirants appearing for the exam. 

The NEET 2025 exam will be held in offline mode (pen and paper-based). Candidates must follow the instructions strictly, as failure to do so may lead to cancellation of their candidature.

NEET 2025 Exam Rules and Guidelines

Candidates appearing for NEET 2025 will undergo extensive checking at the exam centres using highly sensitive metal detectors. The NTA has clearly stated that certain items are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall under all circumstances.

Barred Items Include:

Study and Stationery Items: Printed/written material, geometry boxes, calculators, pens, plastic pouches, pen drives, erasers, log tables, electronic pens or scanners.

Electronic Devices: Mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, microphones, earphones, pagers, health bands.

Personal Belongings: Wallets, goggles, handbags, belts, caps.

Accessories: Watches, wristwatches, bracelets, cameras.

Jewellery/Metallic Items: Any form of ornament or metallic item.

Food and Drinks: Opened or packed food items, water bottles.

Suspicious Devices: Items that could hide microchips, cameras, or communication devices.There will be no facility at the exam centres to store personal belongings, and candidates bringing such items will be held responsible.

Candidates wearing customary, cultural, or religious clothing must report to the exam centre at least two hours before the last reporting time to allow for smooth and respectful frisking. If any suspected device is found during screening within these garments, candidates may be asked to remove or leave the item outside the hall.

NEET 2025 Dress Code Guidelines

To ensure fairness, the NTA has issued a strict dress code:

Heavy clothing or long sleeves are not allowed.

Candidates wearing cultural or customary attire should arrive an hour before the last reporting time (12:30 PM).

Only slippers or sandals with low heels are permitted. Shoes are strictly not allowed.

Any exceptions due to medical or other valid reasons must be approved by NTA before the admit card is issued.

Candidates are advised to regularly check the official website for more information and updates.

தீவிரவாத செயல்கள் மட்டுமின்றி, புயல், மழை, வெள்ளம், நிலச்சரிவு ஆகியவற்றையும் ஆராய்ந்த பின்னரே கொண்டு சுற்றுலா செல்லும் இடங்களை தோ்ந்தெடுப்பது நல்லது. மேலும், சுற்றுலா சென்று திரும்ப வருவதற்கான வாகன வசதி, பாதுகாப்பான தங்குமிடம், செலவிடப்பட வேண்டிய கையிருப்புத் தொகை ஆகியன குறித்தும் சரியான திட்டமிடல் அவசியம்.

சுற்றுலா செல்ல விரும்புவோரை ஒருங்கிணைத்து அழைத்து செல்லும் அரசுத் துறை நிறுவனங்களும், நூற்றுக்கணக்கான தனியாா் முகமைகளும் நாடெங்கும் இயங்கி வருகின்றன. சுற்றுலாவுக்கு ஏற்பாடு செய்யும் தனியாா் முகமைகள் மூலமாக சுற்றுலா செல்வோா் அம்முகமைகள் அளிக்கும் சேவையின் தரத்தை முன்கூட்டியே உறுதி செய்தல் அவசியம்.

புதிதாக ஓரிடத்துக்கு சுற்றுலா செல்லும்போது அங்குள்ள இயற்கை காட்சிகள், மக்களின் கலாசாரம், பண்பாடு, பழக்க வழக்கங்கள் போன்றவற்றை அறிந்து கொள்ள முடியும். வழக்கமான அன்றாட நிகழ்வுகளில் இருந்து நாம் மாறுபட்டு அனுபவிக்கும் சுற்றுலா சூழல் மனதுக்குப் புத்துணா்ச்சி அளிக்கிறது.

உலக பொருளாதாரக் குழுவின், சுற்றுலா துறை சாா்பான 2024 -ஆம் ஆண்டுக்கான அறிக்கையின்படி, உலகில் அதிக அளவிலான சுற்றுலாப் பயணிகளைக் கவரும் 119 நாடுகளின் பட்டியலில், இந்தியா 39-ஆவது இடத்தில் உள்ளது. சுற்றுலா வரும் வெளிநாட்டவா்களை அன்பாக உபசரித்து அவா்களுக்கான வசதிகளை வழங்குவதன் மூலம் இப்பட்டியலில் நாம் மேலும் முன்னேற்றம் காணலாம்.

நம் நாட்டவா் அதிகமாக சுற்றிப் பாா்க்க விரும்பும் மாநிலங்களில் தமிழ்நாடு முதன்மையான இடத்தில் உள்ளது. வெளிநாட்டவா் சுற்றுலா வர விரும்பும் மாநிலங்களில் மகாராஷ்டிரம் முதலிடத்தில் உள்ளது.

குழுவாக சுற்றுலா செல்லும்போது தம்முடன் வருவோா் அனைவரும் நம்மைப் போன்ற சிந்தனை உடையவராக, பழக்கங்கள் இருப்பவராக இருக்க வேண்டும் என்பது அவசியமில்லை. எனவே, தமக்கு மாறான சிந்தனைகள், பழக்க வழக்கங்கள் கொண்ட குழுவில் உள்ளவா்களிடம் அனுசரித்து போவதற்கான மனநிலை மிகவும் அவசியம்.

ஆன்மிக சுற்றுலா செல்வோரிடம் ஆரவாரமோ, ஆா்ப்பாட்டமோ காண்பது அரிது. இதற்குக் காரணம், ஆன்மிகச் சுற்றுலா செல்லும் குழுக்களில் பெரும்பாலானவா்கள் நன்கு பக்குவமெய்திய, கட்டுப்பாடான மனநிலை உடைய முதியோா்களாகவும் நடுத்தர வயதினராகவும் இருப்பா். இதனை பள்ளி, கல்லூரி மாணவா்கள் சுற்றுலா செல்லும் குழுக்களில் எதிா்பாா்க்க இயலாது. இதன் காரணமாக மாணவா்களுக்கான சுற்றுலாவின்போது அவா்களை வழிநடத்தி செல்வோா் மிகுந்த கவனத்துடன் இருக்க வேண்டும். சுற்றுலா செல்லுமிடங்களில் செல்ஃபி எனப்படும் தற்படம் எடுத்து அதனை உறவினா்கள், நண்பா்களுக்குப் பகிா்வது மகிழ்ச்சியுடன் அளிக்க கூடியதே. எனினும் உயிருக்குப் பாதுகாப்பற்ற முறையில் தற்படம் எடுப்பதை சுற்றுலாவின்போது தவிா்ப்பது நல்லது. சமீபத்தில், கங்கை நதியில் இறங்கி தற்படம் எடுக்க முயன்ற பெண், வெள்ள நீரில் அடித்து செல்லப்படும் சோகக் காட்சியை தொலைக்காட்சியில் பாா்த்தபோது மனம் பதைபதைத்தது.

வெளி மாநிலங்கள், நாடுகளுக்கு சுற்றுலா செல்லும்போது வழக்கமாக உள்கொள்ளும் உணவுக்கு மாறான உணவை எடுத்துக் கொள்ளும் நிலை ஏற்படும். இச்சூழலில் ஆா்வக் கோளாறின் காரணமாக அதிகப்படியான உணவைத் தவிா்த்தல் நல்லது. இதன் மூலம் ஒவ்வாமை, செரிமானமின்மை உள்ளிட்ட உடல் நலக் கோளாறுகளைத் தவிா்க்க முடியும். சுற்றுலா சென்றதன் மகிழ்ச்சியை முழுமையாக உணர முடியும்.

சுற்றுலா செல்லும் குழுவில் ஒருவரின் உடல்நிலையில் ஏற்படும் பாதிப்பு சில நேரங்களில் குழுவில் உள்ள மற்றவா்களின் மகிழ்ச்சியை இல்லாமல் செய்துவிடும். இதனை குழுவில் உள்ள அனைவரும் உணா்தல் வேண்டும்.

பொதுவாக சுற்றுலா செல்பவா்களுக்கு மிகுந்த மகிழ்ச்சி அளிப்பவை அணைக்கட்டுகள், ஏரிகள் போன்றவையே. நீா் தேக்கங்களில் படகுசவாரி செய்வதும், ஒகனேக்கல் நீா்வீழ்ச்சி விழுமிடங்களுக்கு பரிசலில் சென்று வருவதும் மகிழ்ச்சியளிக்கக் கூடியவையாகும்.

இத்தருணங்களில் மன மகிழ்ச்சியை விட பாதுகாப்பு சாதனமான லைஃப் ஜாக்கெட் எனப்படும் உயிா் பாதுகாப்பு உபகரணம் அணிவது மிக முக்கியமாகும். கடந்த ஆண்டு, ஜனவரி மாதம் குஜராத் மாநிலம், வதோதரா மாவட்டத்தில், உள்ள ஹா்ணி என்னுமிடத்தில் ஏரி ஒன்றில் மாணவா்கள் சுற்றுலா சென்ற படகு கவிழ்ந்து 12 மாணவா்கள் உள்ளிட்ட 14 போ் உயிரிழந்த சோகச் சம்பவம் நிகழ்ந்தது. இதற்கு 15 போ் பயணம் செய்ய வேண்டிய படகில் 27 போ் பயணம் செய்ததும் ஒரு காரணமாகும். நிா்ணயிக்கப்பட்ட எண்ணிக்கைக்கு மாறாக அதிகப்படியான நபா்கள் படகில் சவாரி செய்வது உயிருக்கு ஆபத்தை விளைவிக்கக் கூடியது.

பெரும்பாலான மக்கள் கோடை காலத்தில் தமிழகத்தில் உள்ள ஏற்காடு, கொடைக்கானல், ஊட்டி போன்ற மலைப்பிரதேசங்களுக்கு அதிக அளவில் சுற்றுலா செல்கின்றனா். இதனால் அங்கு அதிக அளவில் வாகன போக்குவரத்து நெரிசல், வாகனங்களிலிருந்து வெளியேறும் புகையால் சுற்றுச் சூழல் மாசடையும் அபாயம் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது. மேலும், சுற்றுலா செல்வோா் வீசி எறியும் குப்பைகள், நெகிழிக் கழிவுகள் ஆகியவையும் சுற்றுச் சூழலை மேலும் மோசமடையச் செய்கிறது. இதனைக் கட்டுப்படுத்த சம்பந்தப்பட்ட மாவட்ட நிா்வாகங்கள் நடவடிக்கை எடுத்து வருகின்றன. இதற்கு முழு ஒத்துழைப்பு தருவது சுற்றுலா செல்வோரின் கடமையாகும்.

சுற்றுலா செல்லும் போது உண்டாகும் மகிழ்ச்சி சுற்றுலா முடிந்து திரும்பும் போதும் இருக்க வேண்டும். இதற்கு சுற்றுலா செல்வோரின் சரியான திட்டமிடல், கட்டுப்பாடு, பாதுகாப்பு, பிறருடன் அனுசரித்துப் போதல் ஆகியன மிக அவசியமாகும்.

Chennai: Following a Supreme Court order granting it control, the state govt has notified vice-chancellor (VC) search panels for five state universities. While fresh panels were formed for Tamil University and Tamil Nadu Dr Ambedkar Law University, the govt revived the panels formed earlier for Bharathiar University, Bharathidasan University and Periyar University. The panels will have four months to submit three names each to the govt, which will then choose the VCs.

These panels were formed based on the university Acts and without nominees from UGC. The insistence on UGC nominees by Governor R N Ravi created a rift with the state govt and delayed appointment of VCs. At present, 11 of 22 state universities do not have VCs.

Higher education department sources said the state govt will form search panels for four more universities soon. The panel for University of Madras will be formed after getting assent from the President for amending the university Act.

Search panel for Bharathiar University includes former bureaucrat P W C Davidar and former VCs of University of Madras, P Duraisamy and G Thiruvasagam. 

Panel for Bharathidasan University has former bureaucrat K Deenabandu, S Subbiah, and M Rajendran, former VC of Tamil University. 

The panel for Periyar University includes former bureaucrat D Jothi Jagarajan, M Thangaraju, former VC of Periyar University, and M Bhaskaran, former VC of TN Open University.

TN Dr Ambedkar Law University's vice-chancellor search committee will have Justice Aruna Jagadesan (govt nominee), professors S Sachidhanandam (syndicate nominee), and V Vijayakumar (academic senate nominee), both former VCs of the law university.

Tamil University VC search panel will have Justice K B K Vasuki, retired judge of Madras HC (govt nominee), retired IAS officer K Deenabandhu (govt nominee), professor M Selvam (syndicate nominee), professor M Thangaraj, former VC of Periyar University (syndicate nominee), and professor M Rajendran, head of the department of economics, Gandhigram University (senate nominee). In the Tamil University VC search panel, the governor's nominee is replaced by the govt nominee.

Bhopal : A division bench of the MP high court has allowed eight doctors to appear in the prePG exam despite not completing the three years of internship. They claimed that their internship period was two years when they began their internship in MP after completing their MBBS from China, but it was later extended to three years. They challenged the extension of the internship period, arguing that the rules of the game should not be changed midway. 

The eight doctors in question, including Dr Saurabh Rafguvanshi from Vidisha and Dr Jai Sharma from Ujjain, said they took admission in the MBBS course in China in 2017. They returned home in 2019 following the outbreak of the Corona pandemic and completed their MBBS course online after returning to India. Students who completed MBBS from abroad required one year of internship to get registration as a doctor in MP, but during the Corona period, it was extended to two years. Their internship period would have ended on March 31, 2025, but in November 2024, it was extended to three years. 

Appearing for the doctors, senior counsel Aditya Sanghi said the National Medical Commission extended the internship period for students doing MBBS from Ukraine and the Philippines due to the war in Ukraine, but the MP Medical Council applied it to all students who completed MBBS from abroad. He argued that the extension of the internship period was challenged in the MP High Court. Meanwhile, pre-PG medical exams are due in June and July, and the last date for filling the form for the exam is June The bench of justices Sanjeev Sachdeva and Vinay Saraf, while issuing notices to respondents, asked the MP Medical Council to allow the eight doctors to appear in the pre-PG exam.

New Delhi : The conviction of a stamp vendor under the Prevention of Corruption Act for charging Rs 2 extra for a Rs 10 stamp paper in Dec 2003 kept the threetier judiciary engaged for almost 22 years to find an answer to the question — Is a stamp vendor a public servant and is he liable under the anti-corruption law? Two constitutional courts — Delhi High Court and Supreme Court — cumulatively deliberated for 16 years, and on Friday, SC ruled that stamp vendors are public servants, which will bring lakhs of them in states within the ambit of the PC Act. 

However, the stamp vendor who sparked the debate was acquitted by SC after two decades. The incident happened at the sub-registrar’s office at Janakpuri on Dec 9, 2003. The stamp vendor demanded Rs 12 for selling a Rs 10 stamp paper and on exchange of chemical-laced currency notes, he was caught by the Anti-Corruption Bureau and a case filed under the Act on corruption charges. The trial court convicted him under the Act in 2008, termed him to be a public servant and sentenced him to one-year imprisonment with a Rs 1,000 fine. 

The HC took six years to decide the issue — whether a stamp vendor is a public servant for the purposes of the PC Act — and penned a lengthy judgment to concur with the trial court. The appeal by the convicted stamp vendor remained pending with SC for 11 years. On Friday, a bench of Justices J B Pardiwala and R Mahadevan acquitted him for lack of evidence and overturned the concurrent finding of guilt by the trial court and HC. In a 45-page judgment, SC ruled that “stamp vendors across the country, by virtue of performing an important public duty and receiving remuneration from the govt for the discharge of such duty, are undoubtedly public servants within the ambit of Section 2(c)(i) of the PC Act”. 

Writing the judgment, Justice Pardiwala said as the legislature has given a wide and comprehensive definition of ‘public servant’ to curb the menace of corruption, “it is the nature of duty being discharged by a person which assumes paramount importance when determining whether such a person falls within the ambit of the definition of public servant as defined under the PC Act”. The bench said since the licence to become a stamp vendor is issued by govt and is entitled to receive a discount on the stamp paper he sells, he would certainly be treated as a person “remunerated by the govt” for the purpose of the Act.

NEW DELHI: Doctors across the country should be mandated to prescribe only generic medicines instead of brand names, the Supreme Court observed on Thursday while hearing a Public Interest Litigation seeking enforcement of a statutory code to regulate unethical marketing practices by pharmaceutical companies.

The top court made these strong observations after hearing a petition filed by the Federation of Medical & Sales Representatives Associations of India (FMSRAI) and others. The court scheduled the matter for further hearing in July.

A three-judge Bench of the apex court, led by Justice Vikram Nath and comprising Justices Sanjay Karol and Sandeep Mehta, observed, "We believe that doctors should be mandated to prescribe only generic medicines. That will fall in line with what you are praying for. In Rajasthan, there is now an executive instruction that every medical professional must prescribe only generic medicine."

The petition, filed by the FMSRAI, challenged the effectiveness of the current voluntary regulatory regime and sought a directive to enforce the Right to Health under Article 21 of the Constitution.

The petitioners alleged that the pharmaceutical industry continues to engage in unethical marketing practices.

"The instant writ petition has been filed by the petitioners seeking strict regulation of the marketing and promotion of drugs by pharmaceutical companies vis-à-vis healthcare professionals," stated the plea filed in the apex court.

The writ petition also highlighted that enormous amounts of money are spent on sales and promotions to influence doctors, with a view to generating a higher number of prescriptions.
