July 23 is last date to apply for MBBS, BDS courses in Tamil Nadu

The Tamil Nadu Selection Committee has announced that the last date for applying for MBBS and BDS courses is July 23, and applications will be accepted till 5 p.m.

The committee has received over 41,000 applications so far.

According to a notification, the committee had published the list of documents required for undergraduate applications on April 28. The application window was opened on June 29 to give students adequate time for submitting their applications, it said.

With the NEET results having been declared on July 16, the application window will remain open for another week.

Given the need for scrutiny of all the applications, the publication of the list of ineligible candidates and the need for a grievance redressal window for such candidates, and the expected short timeline for undergraduate medical counselling by the Directorate-General of Health Services, there will not be any extension of the last date for submitting applications, the committee said.

It advised the candidates to submit their applications well ahead of the last date.
