காவேரி மருத்துவமனையில் அனுமதிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கும் தி.மு.க. தலைவர் கருணாநிதியைப் பார்ப்பதற்காக, கட்சித் தொண்டர்கள் திரண்டுவருவதால், சென்னை ஆழ்வார்பேட்டை மட்டுமல்லாது நகரின் பல்வேறு பகுதிகளிலும் மக்கள் நடமாட்டம் வழக்கத்தைவிட அதிகரித்துக் காணப்படுகிறது. காவேரி மருத்துவமனை வளாகத்தில் திரளும் தி.மு.க. தொண்டர்களை அப்புறப்படுத்தவும் முடியாமல், அவர்களுக்குச் சமாதானமும் சொல்ல முடியாமல் போலீஸாரும், கட்சியின் மூத்த நிர்வாகிகளும் திணறுகின்றனர்.

'அப்பா நல்லா இருக்கார், அவருக்கு ஒரு குறையும் இல்லை' என்று கனிமொழி எம்.பி-யும், 'நானே கிளம்பி வீட்டுக்குப் போறேன்யா, அதைப் பார்த்துமா தெரியலே... தலைவர் நல்லாயிட்டாருய்யா' என்று மு.க. அழகிரியும் தொண்டர்களுக்கு குளுகோஸ் ஏற்றிச் சென்றனர். 'என் மகனுக்குத் தலைவர்தான், உதயசூரியன் என்று பெயர் வைத்தார். என் தந்தை போன்றவர் கலைஞர். அவர் குணமானால், நான் என் தலைமுடியைக் காணிக்கையாகக் கொடுக்கிறேன்' என்றபடி திருவாரூரைச் சேர்ந்த தி.மு.க. தொண்டர் ஒருவர், மருத்துவமனை அருகிலேயே மொட்டை போட்டுக் கொண்டார். 'தலைவர், குணமாகி வந்ததும் முதல்ல உன் மொட்டையிலதான் ஒரு குட்டு வைக்கப் போறாரு, தலைவருக்கு மொட்டை போடுறதும் பிடிக்காது. பிறரை மொட்டை அடிப்பதும் பிடிக்காது' என்று சிலேடையாக ஒருவர் கமென்ட் அடித்தார்.

கண்களில் இருந்து கசியும் கண்ணீருடன், அந்தக் கமென்ட் அடித்தவர், தி.மு.க. வழக்கறிஞரான ஆர்.கே.நகர் மருதுகணேஷ். 'எப்படியாவது மருத்துவமனைக்குள் நுழைந்து விடவேண்டும்' என்ற எண்ணத்தில் மிகுந்த பிரயத்தனம் செய்து கொண்டிருந்த தொண்டர்களை அதிகளவில் பார்க்க முடிந்தது. காவேரி மருத்துவமனையில் அனுமதிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கும் பிற நோயாளிகளின் உறவினர்கள், கழுத்தில் அந்தந்த வார்டுக்கான அடையாள அட்டையுடனேயே, மருத்துவமனையை விட்டு வெளியே வருவதும், உள்ளே போவதுமாக இருக்கிறார்கள். போலீஸார் அறிவுறுத்தலின்பேரில், மருத்துவமனையில் குறிப்பிட்ட கேட்டையே அவர்கள் பயன்படுத்தி வருகின்றனர். வெளியூரில் இருந்து வந்திருந்த சில தி.மு.க. தொண்டர்கள், அவர்களிடம், "நீங்க எந்த வார்டுப் பக்கம் இருக்கீங்க, நாலாவது மாடியிலயா? தலைவர் எப்படி இருக்காரு? பேப்பர்லாம் படிக்கிறாரா?" என்றெல்லாம் வெள்ளந்தியாக விசாரித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தனர்.



சிலர் இன்னும் ஒருபடி மேலேபோய், "நீங்க வெளியே போகும்போது எங்களை உங்களோட சொந்தக்காரர்னு சொல்லி மருத்துவமனைக்குள்ளே கூட்டிட்டுப் போயிடறீங்களா?" என்று கெஞ்சிக் கொண்டிருந்தனர். "ஒரு நோயாளிக்கு ஒரு விசிட்டர் மட்டும்தான் இருக்க முடியும். நாங்கள் திரும்பிச் செல்லும்போது யாரையாவது, உள்ளே அழைத்துப் போவதாக இருந்தால் முன்கூட்டியே மருத்துவமனை நிர்வாகத்தில் சொல்லி, என்ட்ரி போட்டால் மட்டுமே அழைத்துச் செல்ல முடியும். அப்படியே நாங்கள் உங்களைக் கூட்டிக் கொண்டு போனாலும், எங்க 'விஸிட்டர் பாஸ்' இருக்கும் அறையைத் தாண்டி, நீங்கள் வேறு இடத்துக்குப் போகமுடியாது. அடுத்தமுறை வரும்போது, கண்டிப்பாக உங்களை உள்ளே அழைத்துப் போகப் பார்க்கிறேன்" என்று தெரிவித்தார் ஒரு நோயாளியின் அட்டெண்டர்.

  அரசு நிகழ்ச்சிகளை ஒத்திவைத்து விட்டு, காவேரி மருத்துவமனைக்கு இன்று காலை வந்தார் தமிழக முதல்வர் எடப்பாடி பழனிசாமி. மருத்துவமனையில் சுமார் 20 நிமிடம்வரை இருந்துவிட்டு, வெளியே வந்ததும், செய்தியாளர்களுக்குப் பேட்டியளித்தார் அவர். "முன்னாள் முதல்வர் கருணாநிதியின் உடல்நிலை சீராக உள்ளது. மருத்துவர்கள் தொடர்ந்து கண்காணித்து வருகின்றனர். ஸ்டாலின், கனிமொழி ஆகியோரிடமும் விவரம் கேட்டறிந்தேன். துணை முதல்வர் ஓ.பன்னீர்செல்வமும், நானும் கருணாநிதியை நேரில் பார்த்தோம்" என்று அவர் சொன்னதும், தி.மு.க. தொண்டர்கள் கூடுதல் உற்சாகம் அடைந்தனர். திருச்சி சிவா, டி.கே.எஸ். இளங்கோவன், ஆ.ராசா போன்ற தி.மு.க.வின் முன்னணித் தலைவர்கள், கருணாநிதி உடல்நிலை குறித்து உற்சாகமாகப் பேட்டி அளித்தபோதிலும், கடந்த சில நாட்களாகவே தூக்கம் தொலைத்திருந்ததால், அவர்களின் முகம் வாடியிருந்ததைக்கூட தொண்டர்களால் ஏற்க முடியவில்லை. பேட்டியளித்தத் தலைவர்களின் முகக்குறிப்புகளை வைத்து, கருணாநிதியின் உடல் நலத்தை ஆராய்ந்து கொண்டிருந்தார்கள். தி.மு.க.வின் முக்கிய தலைவர்களில் ஒருவரான துரைமுருகன் மட்டும் மருத்துவமனை வளாகத்தில், சிரித்த முகத்துடன் அங்குமிங்கும் நடந்து கொண்டிருந்தார். அங்கிருந்த தொண்டர்களிடம் "நான் இவ்வளவு சந்தோஷமா இருக்கும்போதே நீங்களெல்லாம் கிளம்பி வீட்டுக்குப் போயிருக்க வேண்டாமா? என் சிரிப்புக்கும், சந்தோஷத்துக்கும் காரணமே தலைவர்தானப்பா... அவர், நல்லா இருக்காருப்பா... முன்னைவிட வேகமான பழைய தலைவரை அறிவாலயத்துல நீங்களெல்லாம் பார்க்கப் போறீங்க" என்று அவர் சொன்னதும் அங்கே எழுந்த ஆரவாரமும், விசில் சத்தமும் அடங்க வெகுநேரம் பிடித்தது. துரைமுருகனின் பேச்சை ஊடகங்களும் விடாமல் ஒளிபரப்ப, மருத்துவமனை முன் திரண்டிருந்த தி.மு.க.வினருக்கு கூடுதல் நம்பிக்கை ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது.

ஈரோட்டை அடுத்த சென்னிமலை அருகே, பணத்துக்காக அக்கா உறவுமுறை கொண்ட பெண் ஒருவரை இளைஞர் ஒருவர் கழுத்தை நெரித்துக் கொலைசெய்த சம்பவம் பெரும் பரபரப்பை ஏற்படுத்தியிருக்கிறது.

ஈரோடு மாவட்டம், சென்னிமலையை அடுத்த முகாசிபிடாரியூர் பகுதியைச் சேர்ந்தவர்கள் ஆறுமுகம் - சிந்து தம்பதியினர். ஆறுமுகம் பெருந்துறை சிப்காட் பகுதியில் உள்ள தொழிற்சாலை ஒன்றில் எலெக்ட்ரீஷியனாகவும், சிந்து சென்னிமலை பகுதியில் உள்ள ரியல் எஸ்டேட் நிறுவனம் ஒன்றில் அலுவலகப் பணியாளராகவும் வேலைபார்த்து வந்துள்ளனர். தம்பதியினர் இருவருமே வேலைக்குப் போனாலும், அவ்வப்போது கடன் வாங்கியே குடும்பத்தை நடத்திவந்திருக்கின்றனர். இந்த நிலையில், கடந்த சில நாள்களுக்கு முன்பு, குடும்பச் செலவுக்காக ஆறுமுகம் தன்னுடைய உறவினரான தனசேகர் என்பவரிடம் 5 ஆயிரம் ரூபாய் பணம் கேட்டிருக்கிறார். ‘என்னிடம் இல்லை, வேறு யாரிடமாவது கேட்டு ஏற்பாடுசெய்து கொடுக்கிறேன்’ என தனசேகர் கூறியிருக்கிறார்.



இதற்கிடையே, கடந்த ஜூலை 28-ம் தேதி காலை, ஆறுமுகத்துக்கு போன் செய்த தனசேகர், ‘தோப்புபாளையத்தில் நண்பர் ஒருவர் கடனாக பணம் தருகிறேன் என்கிறார். நீ அல்லது உன்னுடைய மனைவி என யாராவது வந்தால் வாங்கித் தருகிறேன்’ என கரிசனம் காட்டுவது போல் பேசியிருக்கிறார். வேலையை விட்டுவிட்டு வரமுடியாது என்பதாலும், தனசேகர் உறவினர் என்பதால் அவர் மேல் உள்ள நம்பிக்கையாலும், ‘என்னுடைய மனைவியை அழைத்துச்சென்று வாங்கி வா’ என ஆறுமுகம் கூறியிருக்கிறார்.
 
ஆறுமுகத்தினுடைய மனைவி சிந்துவை அவர் வேலைசெய்யும் அலுவலகத்துக்குச் சென்று அழைத்துக்கொண்டு, ஊத்துக்குளி அருகேயுள்ள அரசண்ண மலை அடிவாரம் அருகே போய், ‘எனக்கு கொஞ்சம் பணம் தேவைப்படுகிறது. பணம் இல்லாமல் திண்டாடி வருகிறேன். உன்னுடைய தாலிச் செயினை கழற்றிக் கொடு’ என கேட்டிருக்கிறார். அதைக் கேட்டு அதிர்ந்துபோன சிந்து, ‘தாலிச் செயினை கழற்றிக் கொடுன்னு சொல்ற... நீ எல்லாம் ஒரு ஆம்பளையா?’ எனக் கத்தியிருக்கிறார். ஒருகட்டத்தில் சிந்துவின் மூச்சை ஒரேடியாக நிறுத்த நினைத்த தனசேகர், சேலையால் சிந்துவின் கழுத்தை நெறித்துக் கொலைசெய்திருக்கிறார். பிறகு, அருகே கிடந்த கற்களை எடுத்து இறந்துகிடந்த சிந்துவின் மீது குவியலாக அடுக்க முயன்றிருக்கிறார். அது சரிவராததால், பிணத்தை அப்படியே விட்டுவிட்டு, சிந்துவினுடைய ஐந்தரை பவுன் தாலிக்கொடியை மட்டும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு அங்கிருந்து தப்பியிருக்கிறார்.

அதன்பிறகு, தனசேகர் அவருடைய உறவினர் ஒருவரை அழைத்துச்சென்று, அந்த நகையை 60 ஆயிரம் ரூபாய்க்கு அடகு வைத்து பணம் வாங்கியிருக்கிறார். அந்தப் பணத்தில், 5 ஆயிரம் ரூபாயை எடுத்துச் சென்று கொலைசெய்த சிந்துவின் கணவர் ஆறுமுகத்திடம், ‘அக்காவை பஸ் பிடித்து வீட்டுக்கு அனுப்பிட்டேன். இந்தா 5 ஆயிரம் ரூபாய் பணம்’ என கொடுத்திருக்கிறார். பணத்தை வாங்கிய ஆறுமுகம், வேலையை முடிந்து வீட்டுக்குச் சென்றபோது, வீட்டில் அவருடைய மனைவி சிந்து இல்லை. மனைவியை பல இடங்களில் தேடி அலைந்தவருக்கு, ஒருகட்டத்தில் தனசேகர் மீது சந்தேகம் வந்திருக்கிறது. தனசேகரிடம் விசாரிக்கையில், அவர் முன்னுக்குப் பின் முரணாகப் பேசியிருக்கிறார். இதனால், சந்தேகமடைந்த ஆறுமுகம், தன்னுடைய மனைவியை காணவில்லை என்றும் தனசேகர் மீது சந்தேகம் இருப்பதாகவும் புகார் கொடுத்திருக்கிறார்.



போலீஸார் விசாரணையில்,‘நான்தான் சிந்துவை பணத்துக்காகக் கொலைசெய்தேன். எனக்கும் சிந்துவுக்கும் தவறான உறவு இருந்தது. அந்த உரிமையில் நான் கேட்டால், தாலிச்செயினை கழற்றித் தருவாள் என நினைத்தேன். ஆனால், அவள் கத்தி கூச்சல் போட்டதால், எனக்கு கோபம் தலைக்கேறி, கழுத்தை நெறித்துக் கதையை முடித்துவிட்டேன்’ என கேஷூவலாகக் கூறியிருக்கிறார். இதையடுத்து, தனசேகரை போலீஸார் கைதுசெய்து சிறையில் அடைத்தனர். பணத்துக்காக நன்கு தெரிந்த உறவினரையே கொலைசெய்த சம்பவம் சென்னிமலை பகுதி மக்களை அதிர்ச்சியடைய வைத்திருக்கிறது.

CHENNAI : Tamil Nadu , the land of spirituality and divinity, has some how turned out to be a land of rapes, the Madras High Court has observed.Justice N Kirubakaran made the observation, while hearing a case relating to the rape of a 60-year-old mentally-retarded woman on November 10, 2016. While he was sitting in the Madurai Bench, the case had been posted before him.“Even toddlers or children are not spared by these brute beasts. Something basically is wrong with the development of the society or the psychology of men,” the judge added.

Originally, when the matter came up before him on December 15 last year in the Madurai Bench, the judge raised a set of questions to be answered by the Union Home Affairs and the Women Welfare and Child Development ministries in New Delhi, all relating to the cause for increase in sexual crimes against women and children in India.Now, the judge warned that if the response was not filed by the next hearing date, the respective Secretaries of the relevant departments shall appear before the court.

CHENNAI:Residents of AGS colony who went to the Chennai Corporation ground in the locality to relax on Sunday were taken by surprise after they found arrangements in the ground for a private birthday party, complete with rows of chairs, a shamiana and a banner.

Members of the AGS colony residents association, who went to inquire, said they found that the permission for the party was granted by the local Corporation AE (Assistant Engineer), who allegedly received ` 2,000 from the group in order to ‘permit’ the celebrations.

“The group initially attempted to use the room for indoor games in the playground for the party. After we protested, they said they will shift the party outside the ground since they don’t have anywhere else to go and they had already paid the money,” said Sam Ponraj, secretary of Kottivakkam AGS colony and neighbourhood residents association.

When contacted, R Siva, father of the child whose birthday party was to be conducted at the ground, said, “My brother also works in the corporation. So, we thought we will ask the AE and conduct the party in the ground itself.” He was not given a receipt for the payment, he said.

The incident came to light after David Manohar, member of Arappor Iyakkam, a Chennai-based NGO, posted the details on social media. When contacted, AE Dhandapani denied the allegations. “I have not rented the playground to anyone. I have no right to rent out a Corporation playground,” he said.

CHENNAI: In order to curb the footboard travel in trains, the Southern Railway has decided to cancel the railway passes and season tickets of passengers who travel on footboard in trains in Tamil Nadu. 

The decision was taken on Monday in the aftermath of the accident that took place on June 25, in which five rail passengers travelling on footboard of a fully crowded EMU train were killed after hitting a concrete fence at St Thomas Mount station.

“All types of passes including college student concession passes issued by the Railways, passes carried by wards of railway employees and regular season tickets will be cancelled if a person found travelling on footboard,” Louis Amuthan, Senior Divisional Security Commissioner, RPF, Chennai told Express.

According to official records, between January 1, 2016 and June 30 this year, footboard travel claimed the lives of 191 persons across the Southern Railway. During this period, the RPF has apprehended about 18,414 footboard travellers and collected a fine of `49.51 lakh.

“Majority of footboard travellers are college students and office-going youngsters. Railway passes of college students who are travelling on footboard will be confiscated and information will be given to the colleges concerned, which will be asked not to recommend such students for student passes. This means that once a student is caught for footboard travel, he or she will not be eligible to student railway passes,” said Amuthan, adding that the regular season tickets would also be confiscated from those who are hanging on the foot-board.

The Chennai suburban railway system caters for about 11.5 lakh passengers a day in four sections.
Naina Masilamani, a member of the Divisional Rail Users Consultative Committee (DRUCC), Chennai, said that before implementing such a move, the Railways should increase the frequency of trains during rush hour.

On Monday, Southern Circle Railway Safety Commissioner K A Manoharan conducted a public hearing in connection with the St Thomas Mount accident, at the Chennai divisional office. A railway official told Express that a decision on increasing the frequency of regular EMU trains and other operational changes would be taken based on the recommendations from the Railway Safety Commissioner.

Appeal to her to transfer them to a recognised college


Seeking action against the management of an unrecognised pharmacy college at Kadayanallur, a group of students staged a demonstration in front of the Collectorate here on Monday and submitted a petition to Collector Shilpa Prabhakar Satish.

The protesting students said the private pharmacy college at Kadayanallur, which lost its university recognition, continued to admit students for three years even after losing the mandatory recognition. Since the college’s name had been included in the university’s list of affiliated colleges, the students joined the institution after paying hefty capitation fee. Since the college had lost its recognition and the students could not write the examination, the district administration should transfer the affected students to some other college, the petitioners said.

‘Send hall ticket to student on WhatsApp’

The Madras High Court on Monday directed the Bharath University (deemed university) to issue hall ticket to a final year MBBS student through WhatsApp on Tuesday so that she could appear for supplementary examinations on Wednesday at an affiliated college in Puducherry using the mobile phone app along with Aadhaar card or passport to prove her identity. Justice S. Vaidyanathan came up with the idea since the examinations were scheduled to begin on Wednesday and there was just one day in the interregnum for the student to pay the requisite fees. He also directed the university to provide its bank details to the student so that the fee could be paid through National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT).

The orders were passed on a writ petition filed by D. Sobica, who alleged that she had been deliberately given fail marks in the final year examinations just because her mother had spearheaded an agitation against Puducherry-based Sri Lakshmi Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences affiliated to Bharath University.

After considering the paucity of time, the judge ordered issuance of hall ticket through e-mail as well as WhatsApp.
