‘Travel only with e-pass’

The Salem Corporation has warned of stern action against those who travel into its limits from other States and districts without the e-pass issued by the State government.
According to a release, persons residing within Salem Corporation limits and returning from other States and districts are quarantined at the city’s borders and their swab samples are collected for test.
If the results are negative, the persons are advised home quarantine for 14 days.
Those who enter the city without the e-pass would undergo tests, and would be quarantined at the Karuppur Engineering College for 28 days.
Police action
They would also face action through the police. The Corporation advised the public to inform them of persons in their locality who had come without proper permission.
