குதிரை வீடு திரும்பியது, ஆசிஃபா வீடு திரும்பவில்லை. அவளைத் தேடி அவளது குடும்பமே இரவு முழுவதும் தவித்தலைந்தது. எந்தத் தகவலும் கிடைக்காததால், மறுநாள் காவல்துறையினரிடம் புகார் அளிக்கச் சென்றனர். `அவள் யாருடனாவது ஓடிப்போயிருப்பாள்' என்றார்கள் காக்கிச்சட்டையினர். ஆம், எட்டு வயதுச் சிறுமியைத்தான் அப்படிச் சொன்னார்கள் அந்தக் காவல் அதிகாரிகள்.

ஆசிஃபாவின் சிரிப்புச் சத்தமும், துள்ளலும் இல்லாமல் அவள் குடிசை வாடிக்கொண்டிருந்தது. முகம்மது யூசூஃப் புஜ்வாலா, தன் வீட்டின் வாசலில் அமர்ந்துகொண்டு தன் மகளின் பாதம்பட்ட தரையில் அவளது சுவடைத் தேடிக்கொண்டிருக்க, பக்கத்து வீட்டுக்காரர் ஒருவர் ஓடிவந்து, `உங்கள் பெண்ணின் சடலம் நம் ஊரிலிருந்து 100 மீட்டர் தொலைவில் இருக்கிற காட்டுப் புதரில் கிடக்கிறது' என்றார். புஜ்வாலாவின் உடல், தன் மகளின் உடலைத் தேடி ஓடியது. அவரது ஜீவன், தன் மகளைத் தேடிக்கொண்டிருந்தது.

சில ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு ஒரு விபத்தில் புஜ்வாலா - நசீமா தம்பதியின் இரண்டு மகள்களும் இறந்துவிட, அவர்கள் புஜ்வாலாவின் மைத்துனரின் மகளைத் தத்தெடுத்து வளர்த்தார்கள். அவள்தான் ஆசிஃபா.

இந்தக் கொலையைத் திட்டமிட்டதாக வழக்கில் சேர்க்கப்பட்டுள்ள குற்றவாளிகள், ஓய்வுபெற்ற அரசு அதிகாரியான சஞ்சி ராம், அவர் மகன், கல்லூரி மாணவர் விஷால் குமார், காவல்துறை அதிகாரி தீபக் கஜுரிய, ராமின் உறவினரான பதின்வயதுப் பையன் ஒருவன், அவனுடைய நண்பன் பர்வேஷ் குமார். விசாரணையில் தெரியவந்துள்ள தகவல்கள், மனித மனங்களின் குரூரத்தைப் பிளந்து காட்டுகின்றன.

ஜனவரி 10ம் தேதி கடத்தப்பட்ட ஆசிஃபாவை, காட்டில்வைத்து வன்புணர்வு செய்த பதின்வயதுக் குற்றவாளி, பின்னர் தன் நண்பன் பர்வேஷுடன் இணைந்து அவளை ஒரு கோயிலுக்குத் தூக்கிச் சென்றான். அது, ராம் பாதுகாவலராக இருக்கும் ஒரு கோயில். பதின்வயதுக் குற்றவாளி, கல்லூரி மாணவன் விஷாலுக்கு போனில் தகவலைத் தெரிவிக்க, நகரத்தில் செமஸ்டர் பரிட்சை எழுதிக்கொண்டிருந்த அவன், ஊர் திரும்புகிறான். ஆசிஃபாவுக்குத் வீரியமான மயக்க மருந்து கொடுக்கப்படுகிறது. தொடர்ந்த நாள்களில், கல்லூரி மாணவன் விஷால், பதின்வயதுக் குற்றவாளி, காவல்துறை அதிகாரி தீபக் என அவள் மாறி மாறி வன்புணர்வுக்கு ஆளாக்கப்படுகிறாள். ஜனவரி 14ம் தேதி, அவள் காட்டுக்குத் தூக்கிச் செல்லப்பட்டு, கழுத்து நெரிக்கப்பட்டு, தலை பெரும் கல்லால் சேதப்படுத்தப்பட்டு, கொல்லப்படுகிறாள். அவளது உடல் மீண்டும் கோயிலுக்கு எடுத்துச் செல்லப்படுகிறது. மறுநாள் காட்டில் புதைக்கப்படுகிறது.

ஆசிஃபா கொலைக்குப் பிறகான காட்சிகள், இன்னும் கொடூரம். தடயங்களை அழிக்க, காவல்துறை அதிகாரிகளே அவளது ஆடைகளை அலசுகிறார்கள். வழக்கு க்ரைம் பிரான்ச்சுக்கு மாற்றப்படுவதற்கு முன், அவளது பிறப்புறுப்பின் காயங்கள் உள்ளிட்ட பல தடய அறிக்கைகளை அழிக்கிறார்கள். ராம், இதற்காக இரண்டு காவல்துறை அதிகாரிகளுக்கு நான்கு லட்சம் லஞ்சம் கொடுத்ததாகச் சொல்லப்படுகிறது.

குற்றவாளிகள் கைதுசெய்யப்பட்ட பின்னர், அவர்களுக்கு `இந்து' கவசங்கள் மாட்டப்படுகின்றன. `வழக்கின் விசாரணையில் நியாயமில்லை; ஒருதலைபட்சமாக, இஸ்லாமியர்களுக்கு ஆதரவாக இது மேற்கொள்ளப்படுகிறது' என்று போராட்டங்கள் வெடிக்கின்றன. பிடிபி - பிஜேபி கூட்டணி அரசு ஆளும் ஜம்மு அரசின் இரண்டு பிஜேபி அமைச்சர்கள், இந்து அமைப்பின் பேரில் நடத்தப்படும் இந்தப் போராட்டங்களுக்கு ஆதரவு தெரிவிக்கிறார்கள். குற்றவாளிகளில் ஒருவனின் தாய் உள்பட, நான்கு பெண்கள் முடிவில்லா உண்ணாநிலைப் போராட்டத்தில் அமர்கிறார்கள். குற்றப்பத்திரிகை தாக்கல் செய்வதற்கு போலீஸார் நீதிமன்றத்தில் நுழைவதை, வழக்கறிஞர்களே தடுக்க முயற்சி செய்கிறார்கள். உச்சகட்டமாக, இந்தப் போராட்டங்களில் தேசியக்கொடி ஏந்தி சிலர் நியாயம்(!) கேட்கிறார்கள்.

காட்சிகள் தொடர்கின்றன.

சுட்டெரிக்கும் கோடை... ஆறு, குளம், ஏரி, அணைகள் என அனைத்து நீர் நிலைகளிலிருந்தும் நீர் ஆவியாகிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறது. அதேபோல் நமது உடலிலிருந்தும் நீர் அதிக அளவில் வெளியேறுகிறது. இதனாலேயே உடலின் நீர்த் தேவை அதிகரிக்கிறது. அதை ஈடுகட்டாதபட்சத்தில் நீர்க்கடுப்பு, கல்லடைப்பு, சிறுநீரகக் கோளாறுகள் என நோய்கள் வரிசைகட்டும். கோடையில் ஏற்படும் நீரிழப்பைச் சரிசெய்ய நிறைய தண்ணீர் அருந்த வேண்டும். ஆனால், தொண்டைக்கு இதமாக குளிர்ச்சியான நீரை அருந்துவதையே நாம் வழக்கமாகக் கொண்டிருக்கிறோம். `கொளுத்தும் கோடையில் ஐஸ் வாட்டர் அருந்துவது நல்லதுதானா?' - பொது மருத்துவர் ஆர்.சுந்தரராமனிடம் கேட்டோம்.

``கோடை வெயிலின் வெம்மையைத் தணிக்க வழக்கத்தைவிட அதிகமாக நீர் அருந்தவேண்டியது அவசியம். இதை எல்லா மருத்துவ முறைகளுமே வலியுறுத்துகின்றன. சாதாரணக் காலங்களைவிட கோடையில் நம்மையும் அறியாமல் அதிகமாக நீர் அருந்துவோம். அப்போது அது குளிர்ந்த நீரா... சாதாரண நீரா... சுடுநீரா என்றெல்லாம் பார்க்கத் தேவையில்லை; எந்த நீராக இருந்தாலும், தாராளமாக அருந்தலாம். தொண்டைக்குக் கீழே சென்றதும் நம் உடலின் வெப்பநிலைக்கு ஏற்ப அது மாறிவிடும். ஆகவே `ஐஸ் வாட்டரைக் குடிக்கலாமா?' என்று கேட்டால், `தாராளமாகக் குடிக்கலாம்' என்றே சொல்லலாம். அதனால் பெரிதாக எந்தப் பிரச்னையும் ஏற்பட்டு விடாது என்றே அலோபதி மருத்துவம் சொல்கிறது.

வெயிலில் வியர்க்க விறுவிறுக்க அலைந்து திரிந்து, வீடு திரும்பும் நம்மில் பலர் ஐஸ் வாட்டர் அருந்துவதையே வழக்கமாகக்கொண்டிருக்கிறோம். ஃப்ரிட்ஜிலிருந்து அப்படியே எடுத்துக் குடிப்பவர்களும் இருக்கிறார்கள். இதனால் உடல்நிலையில் கொஞ்சம் மாற்றம் ஏற்பட்டாலும், அதன் பிறகு இயல்புநிலைக்குத் திரும்பிவிடுவோம். காரணம், நம் உடல்நிலைக்குத் தகுந்தவாறு அது மாற்றப்பட்டுவிடும். எனவே, ஐஸ் வாட்டர் குடிப்பது ஒன்றும் பெரிய பாதிப்பை ஏற்படுத்தாது. ஆனால், ஐஸ்க்ரீம், செயற்கைக் குளிர்பானங்கள் வேண்டுமானால் சிலருக்குப் பாதிப்பை ஏற்படுத்த வாய்ப்புள்ளது.




நம் நாட்டில் விற்கப்படும் ஐஸ்க்ரீம்களுக்கு உணவுப் பாதுகாப்பு சட்டத்தின் கீழ் முறையான சான்றிதழ்கள் பெறப்படுவதில்லை. காரணம், அவர்களால் அந்த அளவுக்குத் தரமான, முறையான பொருள்களைக் கொடுக்க முடிவதில்லை. அதனால் ஐஸ்க்ரீம்களால் சிலருக்கு பாதிப்பு ஏற்படலாம். ஐஸ்க்ரீம் சாப்பிடும் எல்லோருக்கும் பாதிப்பு ஏற்படும் என்று சொல்லிவிட முடியாது. பல்சொத்தை, அலர்ஜி, தொண்டையில் பிரச்னை உள்ளவர்கள் ஐஸ்க்ரீம் சாப்பிடுவதால் அது பிரச்னையை அதிகரித்து, தொல்லையை ஏற்படுத்தலாம்.ஐஸ் வாட்டர் குடிப்பதால் பிரச்னை வராது. அதேபோல குளிர்ந்த நீரில் குளிப்பதால் பிரச்னை வராது என்பதைவிட, பலன்களே அதிகம் கிடைக்கின்றன. குளிர்ந்த நீரில் குளிப்பதால் உடலிலுள்ள நோய் எதிர்ப்புச் சக்தி அதிகரிக்கும். காலையில் குளிர்ந்த நீரில் குளிப்பது விழிப்புஉணர்வை அதிகரிக்கும். சுவாசம் நிதானமாக இருப்பதால், சுறுசுறுப்பாகச் செயல்பட முடியும். மன உளைச்சல், மனஅழுத்தத்தை உருவாக்கும் ஹார்மோன்களின் அளவு குறையும். உண்ணும் உணவு எளிதாகச் செரிமானமாகி நச்சுத்தன்மைகளை வெளியேறச் செய்யும்.சருமத்தை இறுகச் செய்து, வயோதிகத்தைத் தள்ளிப்போட உதவும். கோடைக்காலத்தில் குளிர்ந்த நீரில் குளிப்பது மிகவும் நல்லது.

குளிர்ந்த நீரை அருந்துவதாலோ, குளிர்ந்த உணவுகளை உண்பதாலோ சளிக்குக் காரணமான வைரஸ் கிருமிகள் உருவாகாது. குளிர்ந்த நீர் அல்லது உணவால் அலர்ஜி இருந்தால் மட்டுமே ஒருவருக்குப் பிரச்னைகள் ஏற்பட வாய்ப்புள்ளது.

மருத்துவக் காரணங்களின்படி ஐஸ் வாட்டர் குடிப்பதால் பிரச்னைகள் இல்லை. இன்றைய சுற்றுச்சூழல் மாசு நீரையும் விட்டுவைக்கவில்லை. சுகாதாரமில்லாத நீரே பெரும்பாலும் கிடைக்கிறது. அந்த நீர் ஃப்ரிட்ஜில் வைக்கப்பட்டால் இன்னும் சுத்தமில்லாமல்தான் போகும். எனவே, வெதுவெதுப்பான நீரைக் குடிப்பதுதான் உடல்நலத்துக்கு சிறந்தது.'' என்கிறார் மருத்துவர் சுந்தரராமன்.

At least four cases of student suicides were reported across Hyderabad on Friday as results of the Intermediate exams were announced by the Telangana government.

According to media reports, the cases were reported from Kukatpally, Vanasthalipuram, Medipally and Ushodaya Nagar.

According to media reports, in Moosapet near Kukatpally, a first year student of MNR Junior college was found hanging from the ceiling after he failed his exam. He was declared brought dead when rushed to the hospital.

In another incident at Subhadranagar under the jurisdiction of the Vanasthalipuram police, a 17-year-old girl committed suicide despite scoring 325 out of 440 marks, as she failed to score as much as she expected, the police said.

The girl was reported to be studying in Sri Chaitanya Junior College in Dilsukhnagar and took the extreme step when her parents were away from home.

The third incident took place at Ushodaya Nagar under Jagadgirigutta police limits, when another 17-year-old girl studying in Sri Gayathri Junior College, jumped from the third floor of her apartment. She was a first-year student.

Another first-year student, aged 16, also killed herself on Friday by hanging from her ceiling fan at her residence in Medipally, after failing to pass some subjects.

Meanwhile, in another tragic incident, 18-year-old Neerav Marshu, a second-year Intermediate student of St. Francis Xavier Junior College and a resident of Kacheguda, jumped from the fifth floor of his building after he feared that he would fail his exams.

However, he was found to have passed when the results were declared.

The results of the Intermedia examinations were announced by Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Kadiam Srihari on Friday, who said that girls outshone boys.

The pass percentage of Intermediate first year and second year was 63.73% and 67.06% respectively.

The pass percentage of Intermediate first year girls and boys was 68.85% and 56.36% respectively, while that of second year girls and boys was 72.70% and 60.99% respectively.

Chennai: The Madras high court has granted anticipatory bail to P. Vanangamudi, former vice chancellor of Dr Ambedkar Law University, who apprehended arrest in connection with a case registered against him for allegedly amassing huge wealth by corrupt and fraudulent manner, disproportionate to his known sources of income. Justice, A.D. Jagadish Chandra granted anticipatory bail to Vanangamudi on the condition that he should appear before the Investigation Officer daily at 9 am and 6 pm for a week.

He should surrender his passport if any, the judge added. In his petition, Vanangamudi submitted that he has been fixed by his rivals with an ulterior motive. The entire complaint was a fabled fact and the same was concocted to the core.

The complaint was manifested and the same has been lodged only to harass him. The FIR and the alleged offences lack prima facie materials to draw any nexus between the evidence collected and annexed by the prosecution to show that he has indulged in such activities. The report does not say about the collection of any incriminating materials, it simply narrates the allegations against him and other accused persons, he added.

Display number of attempts by doctors in exams, Medical Council of India directed

CHENNAI: The HC has suggested to the Medical Council of India (MCI) to display number of attempts by doctors in examinations in the website and also in the hospital/clinic concerned so that patients would know the doctor’s performance. Justice S Vaidyanathan in support of his observation said some doctors have become commercial brokers having nexus with pharmacists. This court has also come across number of attempts availed of by students undergoing the medical course. Hence, the MCI will have to take a decision and ensure that the number of attempts made by doctors will have to be displayed in the website and also in the hospital/clinic concerned, in order to enable patients to know performance of the doctor as a student, the judge added.

The judge made the observation while dismissing a writ petition from S Srisakthish, a third year student of Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences, praying for a directive to the Controller of Examination of the university to issue a fresh marklist by awarding the improved internal assessment marks secured by him in November 2017 examination in Community Medicine as per his representation dated February 15 last.

Tamil Nadu: Senior education officials rapped for not following court orders

CHENNAI: Following a directive from Justice N Kirubakaran on Thursday, senior State Education Department officials, including Higher Education Secretary Sunil Paliwal, appeared before the judge on Friday in the matter relating to the appointment of PG teachers by the government.

Hearing the case, Justice Kirubakaran rapped the government officials for not paying heed to the court orders and summoned all five officials, including the Higher Education Secretary and the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission Secretary.

The issue relates to an order passed by Justice Kirubakaran in November 2017 on the pleas moved by S Venkatachalam and five others seeking to declare the January 5, 2016, Government Order (GO) that held that the BEd degree course offered by the Vinayaka Missions University, Salem, was not equivalent to the BEd of Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University, Chennai.

The judge, in his order, set aside the Government Order and directed the government to issue appointment orders to the petitioners.
