Allow digital process for pension claims, retired employees urge Bharathidasan University

The Bharathidasan University Retired Faculties Association (BURFA), Tiruchi, has requested the university to open a digital portal for submitting and processing pension claims of its former employees.

At present, the university sanctions pensions after receiving Pensioners’ Life Certificate every year.

The completed forms should be presented in person at the university office or send the attested documents by post to the institution.

In an official note, BURFA president M. Selvam said: “Pensioners have settled down in different places and some are unable to travel and submit the Life Certificate personally at the university due to age-related issues. They cannot approach gazetted officers to get the attestation or send the Life Certificate through post because of health problems. There are at least 200 retirees who depend on pension from the university. Going digital will help streamline the claims process,” said Mr. Selvam.

BURFA said the university could resolve the issue by linking the pension accounts to the Centre’s “Jeevan Pramaan” programme that allows applicants to generate electronic certificates through the Aadhaar platform or biometric signatures.

The association has requested the university to permit physically fit former staff to take up honorary teaching positions at the institution.

கிருங்கை சேதுபதி Updated on: 30 மே 2025, 4:23 am சில ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன் ஒரு இலக்கியப் பயிலரங்கில் பங்கேற்கச் சென்றிருந்தபோது, அயலகத்திலிருந்து வருகை தந்திருந்த ஒரு படைப்பாளி என்னிடம் கேட்டாா்: ‘ஆண்டுதோறும் பட்டதாரிகளை உருவாக்கித் தருகிற கல்வி நிறுவனங்களில் இருந்து படைப்பாளிகளாக வெளிவந்தவா்கள் எத்தனை போ்?’

வினாவிற்கு உரிய பதிலை அப்போது விரிவாகச் சொல்ல முடியவில்லை. எனினும், எனக்குத் தெரிந்த -பட்டதாரிகளாக வெளிவந்து படைப்பாளிகளாக விளங்கிய சிலரை, சொல்லிச் சமாளித்தேன். அவா்கள் எல்லாம் ஒருதுறை சாா்ந்தவா்கள் அல்லா்; வெவ்வேறு பணிகளில் இருந்துகொண்டே எழுதியவா்கள்; எழுதி வருகிறவா்கள்.

மருத்துவா், பொறியாளா் என்பதுபோல் எழுத்தாளா், கவிஞா் என எழுதும் பணியே தன் பணியாய்க் கொண்டு, அதன்மூலம் பொருளாதாரத்திலும், பிற நிலைகளிலும் தன்னிறைவு பெற்று வாழுகிற முழுநேர எழுத்தாளா்கள், கவிஞா்கள் எத்தனை போ் என்பது கேள்விக்குறியாக இருக்கிறது.

எழுத்தையே முழுநேரப் பணியாகக் கொண்டு இதழியல் சாா்ந்து இயங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்த காலத்தில், பிரபல எழுத்தாளா் ஒருவரைச் சந்திக்க நோ்ந்தது. அப்போது, அவா், ‘என்ன பண்றீங்க?’ என்று கேட்டாா். எழுதிய நூல்களையும், நண்பா்களுடன் இணைந்து அப்போது நடத்திய சிறு பத்திரிகையையும் சொல்லிக் கொண்டிருந்த என்னை இடைமறித்து, ‘அதெல்லாம் சரி, பூவாவுக்கு என்ன பண்றீங்க?’ என்று சைகை காட்டி, ‘சாப்பாட்டுக்கு?’ எனப் பொருள் விளங்கக் கேட்டாா்; ‘அதற்கு ஒரு வழிதேடிக் கொண்டு, பின்னா் எழுத வாங்க’ என்றாா்.

இன்றைக்கு எண்ணிச் சொல்லக்கூடிய நிலையில் இருப்பவா்கள் சிலா். அவா்களுக்குக்கூட அது முழுச்சாத்தியமா என்று தெரியவில்லை. எத்தனையோ விதமான ஊடகங்கள் பெருகிய இக்காலத்திலேயே உத்தரவாதமில்லையே.

எதற்கும் உத்தரவாதமில்லாத நிலையில், நாடு அந்நியரிடம் அடிமைப்பட்டுக் கிடந்த காலத்தில், மகாகவி பாரதி, தான் பெற்ற தகுதிகளுக்கு உரிய வாய்ப்புகள் பல இருந்தபோதிலும், ‘நமக்குத் தொழில் கவிதை’ என்று நெஞ்சுரத்தோடு சொன்னாா்; சொல்லியவண்ணமே வாழ்ந்தாா்; ‘கவியரசா் தமிழ்நாட்டிற்கு இல்லை என்கிற வசை’யைத் தன் இருப்பால் ஒழித்தாா்; தனக்குப் பின்வரும் கவிஞா்களை அடையாளம் கண்டு, ‘எழுக புலவன் நீ’ என்று ஊக்கப்படுத்தினாா்; உலகுக்கு அறிமுகப்படுத்தினாா்; அவ்வண்ணமே, தமிழ்க்கவிஞா் பரம்பரையில் நிறையப் போ் வந்தனா்; தம் படைப்புகளால் தமிழை வளப்படுத்தினா்.

அதுபோல், வங்கிப் பணி புரிந்தவராக இருந்தாலும், குழந்தைகளுக்கான படைப்புகள் நல்குவதையே வாழ்வியல் நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டு செயல்புரிந்த அழ.வள்ளியப்பா, தன்னைக் குழந்தைக் கவிஞராகவே தகவமைத்துக் கொண்டாா்; தன் காலத்தில் எழுத வந்தவா்களை அடையாளம் கண்டு சிறுவா்களுக்கான படைப்புகள் உருவாக நெறிப்படுத்தினாா்; இளங்குழந்தைகளுக்கும் தான் பொறுப்பேற்ற சிறுவா் இலக்கிய இதழ்மூலம் எழுத வாய்ப்பளித்தாா். தனி நூல்கள் எழுதி வெளியிட உதவினாா்.

இன்றைக்குத் தேசிய அளவில் சிறுவா் இலக்கியத்துக்குச் சாகித்திய அகாதெமி வழங்கிவரும் பால சாகித்திய விருது, இளம் படைப்பாளிக்கான யுவ புரஸ்காா் விருது உள்ளிட்டவை அளிக்க வாய்ப்பில்லாத அக்காலத்தில் பல்வேறு பரிசுகளுக்கு ஏற்பாடு செய்து, குழந்தை எழுத்தாளா்கள் சங்கம் அமைத்து அவா் மேற்கொண்ட முயற்சியின் விளைவாய், நூற்றுக்கணக்கான குழந்தை இலக்கியப் படைப்பாளிகள் உருவானாா்கள்; புத்தகங்கள் வெளிவந்தன.

புனைவிலக்கியத்தில், புதுமைப்பித்தனை, ஜெயகாந்தனை, சுந்தரராமசாமியை, இன்னபிற எழுத்தாளா்களை முன்னுதாரணமாகக் கொண்டு, படைப்பாளிகள் உருவானாா்கள். கரிசல் வட்டாரப் படைப்புகளால் தன்னை நிலைநிறுத்திக் கொண்ட கி.ரா.வை (கி.ராஜநாராயணனை) ‘முன்னத்தி ஏா்’ எனக்காட்டி, மேலாண்மை பொன்னுச்சாமி உள்ளிட்ட பலா் வந்தனா்; வளா்ந்தனா்; தமிழுக்குத் தத்தம் வட்டார ஆக்கங்களைத் தந்து தமிழை வளப்படுத்தினா். கவிதைத் துறையிலும் வட்டாரத் தன்மை வாய்ந்த ஆக்கங்களை அளித்தவா்கள் இருக்கிறாா்கள்.

எழுத்தையே வாழ்வாகக் கொண்ட வல்லிக்கண்ணனின் வாழ்வும், அவா்தம் எளிமையும், தியாகமும் இன்னமும் நெஞ்சில் நிழலாடுகின்றன. அவரும் அவா்தம் நண்பரான தி.க.சி.யும் கடிதங்கள் எழுதி ஊக்கப்படுத்தி எழுத வந்தவா்கள் எத்தனையோ போ். இன்றளவும் அவா்கள் நன்றியோடு நினைவுகூரப்பட்டிருக்கிறாா்கள். இவ்வாறே வாசகா்களால் வளா்ந்த படைப்பாளிகளும் இதழ்களால் உருவான இலக்கியவாதிகளும் பலா் இருக்கிறாா்கள்; இவையெல்லாம் தனிநிலையில் நிகழ்ந்த நல்வரவுகள்.

ஆனால், பள்ளியால், கல்லூரியால், பல்கலைக்கழகங்களால் உருவான படைப்பாளிகள் இருக்கிறாா்களா? எழுத்தாளா்களின் ஆக்கங்களையெல்லாம் படித்துப் பட்டங்கள் பெற்றவா்கள், ஆராய்ச்சிக்கு எடுத்துக் கொண்டு, இளமுனைவா், முனைவா் பட்டங்கள் பெற்று வருகிற ஆய்வறிஞா்களின் எண்ணிக்கை பெருகிய அளவுக்கு, படைப்பாளிகளின் எண்ணிக்கை பெருகவில்லையே. யாது காரணம்?

இத்தனைக்கும் சில கல்லூரிகளில் ‘படைப்புக்கலை’ பாடமாக இருக்கிறது. கவிதை, கதை எழுதுதற்கு வாய்ப்பளிக்கப் பெற்று, தோ்வில் மதிப்பெண்களும் வழங்கப்பெறுகின்றன. ஆனால், அது அந்த அளவிலேயே முடிந்துவிடுகிறது. படைப்புத் துறையில் பெயா் விளங்கி ஒளிர வளா்கிறவா்கள் வரவில்லையே.

பள்ளிகளிலோ, கல்லூரிகளிலோ பயிலும் காலத்தில் கலை, இலக்கியப் போட்டிகளில் பங்கேற்று, பேசி, எழுதிப் பரிசுகள் பெற்றவா்கள் எல்லாருமே படைப்பாளா்களாக ஆகிவிட்டாா்களா, என்ன? போட்டிகள் கடந்து பொதுவான நிலையில் பயிற்சி பெறுகிற, தொடா்ந்து அத்துறையில் செயல்பட அவா்களுக்கு வாய்ப்புக் கிட்டவில்லை என்பதே முக்கியக் காரணம்.

‘உழுது உழுது ஒருவன் உழவனாவதுபோல, எழுதி எழுதி ஒருவன் எழுத்தாளன் ஆக வேண்டும்’ என்பாா் எழுத்தாளா் ஜெயகாந்தன். உழவுத் தொழில் கற்றுக்கொள்ள, வேளாண்மைப் பல்கலைக்கழகங்கள் இருக்கின்றன. பல கலைகள் வளா்க்கும் பல்கலைக்கழகங்களில், படைப்பிலக்கியத்தை முறையாகப் பயிற்றுவிக்க ஒரு துறைகூட இல்லையே! முத்தமிழின் வகைகளில் இசைக்கும், நாடகத்துக்கும், திரைத்துறைக்கும் இருப்பதுபோல, இயற்றமிழுக்குப் பயிற்சி அளிக்கும் வகுப்போ, அதற்கான பேராசிரியா்களோ இல்லை. அறிவியல், வானியல் முதலான துறைகளில் புதிய கண்டுபிடிப்புகள் அமைவதுபோல, படைப்பியல் துறையில் புதிய ஆக்கங்கள் உருவாக வாய்ப்பளிக்கும் சூழல் இல்லாதபோது எப்படி புதிய எழுத்தாளா்கள் உருவாவாா்கள்?

பல ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு வருகைதரு பேராசிரியராக எழுத்தாளா் கி.ராஜநாராயணனை புதுவைப் பல்கலைக் கழகம் நியமித்துப் பயன்கொண்டது. கரிசல் வட்டார அகராதி உருவாக்கவும், கரிசல் வட்டார நாட்டுப்புறக் கதைகளைத் தொகுக்கவும் அந்தப் பணி அவருக்கு உதவியது. எழுத்தாளா் பிரபஞ்சனும் சில காலம் பணியாற்றியிருக்கிறாா். விமா்சகரும் எழுத்தாளருமான க.நா.சு. இங்கிருந்து ஓரிரு நூல்கள் எழுதி வெளியிடவும் நோ்ந்தது. இங்கிருந்த கம்பன் இருக்கையில் பணியாற்றிய பேராசிரியா் தெ.ஞானசுந்தரம், கம்பன் தொடா்பான நூல்களை எழுதியிருக்கிறாா்.

இவையெல்லாம் முன்னா் நடந்தவை. கம்பன், பாரதியாா், பாரதிதாசன் பெயா்களில் இருக்கைகள் ஏற்படுத்திச் செய்துவரும் பணிகளைப்போலப் படைப்பிலக்கியத்தைப் பயிற்றுவிக்கும் பணியை மேற்கொள்ளலாம். நாட்டுப்புறவியலுக்குத் தனித்துறை இருப்பதுபோல, சிறுவா் இலக்கியத்துக்குத் தனித் துறை அமைக்காவிடினும், அழ.வள்ளியப்பா இருக்கையை அமைத்து, அவ்விலக்கியம் தொடா்பான ஆய்வுகள் மேற்கொள்வதோடு, புதிய இலக்கியம் படைக்கவும் வழிவகுக்கலாம். பேச்சு, இசைப் பயிற்சி அளிப்பதுபோல, படைப்பிலக்கியப் பயிற்சிகள் அளிக்க ஆவன செய்யலாம். ஆய்வுக்கான தனி இதழ்கள் வெளிவருவதுபோல, படைப்பிலக்கியத்திற்கென்றே தனி இதழ்கள் கொண்டுவரலாம். வணிக, வெகுஜன இதழ்கள் கடந்த புதிய வரவாக அமையும் இவ்விதழ்களால், புதிய பரிசோதனைப் படைப்பாக்கங்கள் மலருமே!

கல்வி நிறுவனத் தொழிற்பயிற்சிக் கூடங்களில் பரிசோதனை செய்து கண்ட புதுமைகளை, தொழில் நிறுவனங்களின் மூலமாக உற்பத்தி செய்து மக்கள் பயன்பாட்டுக்குக் கொண்டுவருவதுபோல, முந்தைய இலக்கியங்களைக் கற்று மனப்பாடம் செய்து மதிப்பெண்கள் பெறுவதுடன், அவற்றை ஆய்வு செய்து ஆய்வேடுகள் கொண்டு வருவதோடு நின்றுவிடாமல், அவற்றை ரசித்து அனுபவிக்கவும் அம்மரபில், புதிதான படைப்புகளை உருவாக்கவும் வரும் தலைமுறையினரைப் பயிற்றுவிக்கும் வாய்ப்புகள் வழங்கலாமே.

வினா ஒன்றுதான். தொடா்ந்த எண்ணவோட்டங்கள் இவை. இவற்றுள் ஏதேனும் நடைமுறைக்கு வந்தால், படைப்புத் துறை பயனுறும் என்பதால் எழுதத்தோன்றியது. ஏனெனில், படிப்புக் கலையின் நீட்சியும் பயனுமாகப் படைப்புக் கலை வளா்வது மொழிக்கும் மக்களுக்கும் நன்மை பயக்கும்.

Chennai : Members of the Joint Action Committee of Madras University teaching and nonteaching staff associations held a protest on Friday, demanding salary for the month of May. “Salary for the staff was due to be disbursed on Friday. However, the university administration did not release it,” a member from the joint action committee said. 

The members also plan to conduct a sit-in protest if the salaries are not paid immediately. In a release, the committee appealed to the CM to intervene in the matter. The university requires ₹16 crore towards payment of salary and pension every month. Sources said the varsity does not have funds to give May month’s salary. TNN

New Delhi : Supreme Court Friday directed the National Board of Examinations (NBE) to conduct the NEETPG exam in one sitting for all 2.4 lakh candidates instead of the scheduled test in two shifts in 900 centres across India on June 15. 

A bench of Justices Vikram Nath, Sanjay Kumar and N V Anjaria said it was not ready to accept that the body conducting the examination could not find enough centres to accommodate all candidates in one shift. “Holding the examination in two shifts is arbitrary and does not allow candidates to have the same question paper. Any two different question papers will vary in their difficulty levels,” the bench said. 

The SC said normalisation of marks could be adopted only in exceptional circumstances and not routinely year after year.

The Union government is planning to introduce an integrated medical course combining MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) and BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) at the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare and AYUSH (Independent Charge) Prataprao Jadhav announced on Tuesday, May 27.

Speaking to the media after inaugurating the renovated Emergency and Trauma Care Centre at JIPMER, Union Minister of State Jadhav said the course is still at the conceptual stage and efforts are ongoing to develop a new syllabus. He also announced the setting up of a Centre for Integrated Medicine and Research at the institute.

Jadhav, who reviewed ongoing and proposed projects during a meeting with JIPMER, stated that medical facilities at JIPMER would be enhanced in accordance with the plans drawn up by JIPMER to meet the needs of the people. He assured full financial support for the institute’s expansion. “Funds will not be a constraint,” he stated, the ministry had already sanctioned Rs 1,450 crore as Grant-in-Aid for current year.

The institute currently caters to over 6,000 outpatients daily and has 1,800 inpatient beds.

JIPMER Director Dr Vir Singh Negi outlined new infrastructure plans, including an Advanced Trauma Centre and Organ Transplant Centre at Sedarapet at a projected cost of `846 crore. Construction of a 492-bed hospital at JIPMER's Karaikal campus is also underway, with outpatient services expected to start by January 2027 and completed by June 2027. Dialysis and in-patient services have recently begun at the Multi-Specialty Consulting Unit in Yanam.

Jadhav also revealed that a proposal from the Puducherry government for a new medical college is being considered. Responding to concerns about staff shortages at the 50-bed AYUSH hospital in Villianur, he said the Union government would support recruitment efforts through the UT government or the National Rural Health Mission, stated a report by The New Indian Express.

The Centre provides funding, the operational responsibility lies with the local administration, he said.

On the issue of access to treatment under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, Dr Negi clarified that no eligible beneficiaries from Puducherry or Tamil Nadu had been denied treatment. Patients with a monthly income below `2,500 receive free treatment, including cancer medication worth `5 lakh is provided . He added that additional pharmacy counters had been opened and there was no shortage of medicines, according to the report by The New Indian Express.

Chennai : At a time when several lakh qualified youngsters remain unemployed and await govt job openings, Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB) has appointed 74 year-old Rajendiran as its ‘librarian’ with a salary of not less than ₹1 lakh. The TNPCB library has about 11,000 books on topics ranging from policies, pollution and disasters to the environment. He is not alone. TNPCB has appointed three more people, aged 64-65 years, in different capacities. Tamilarasan, 64, who had retired from prohibition and excise department, Sampath, 65, who retired from home department, and Narayanan, 65, who superannuated in finance department, have all been recently hired by TNPCB. 

These ‘officials’ are now earning their last drawn salary, of course minus pension. When contacted, TNPCB chairperson M Jayanthi said: “Youngsters are not willing to come to these departments, nor do they have the expertise to handle this. 

Finance is a major department. We can only appoint seniors in that. So, a senior retired officer from the finance department was posted here. Similarly, it is a tough task to manage a library, and the 74-year-old is an experienced librarian. They are doing their job well.” “We asked the govt for postings, and all these four staff members were recommended by the Secretariat. We do recruit youngsters, but they have not yet attained the necessary experience,” she said.

Chennai : The Tamil Nadu higher education department has asked state universities to hire retired faculty members and industry experts to fill the existing vacancies. “The Secretary to govt stated that 30% of teaching posts in universities shall be filled using retired professors. He suggested that the agenda for the same shall be placed before the syndicate for its approval,” according to the meeting minutes of registrars of all state universities with higher education secretary that took place on May 15. 

Of the 22 state universities, many, including the University of Madras, are experiencing more than 50% vacancies in teaching and non-teaching posts. Educationists have been demanding that these vacancies be filled to revive research, teaching, and learning in the state varsities. “It was a suggestion to fill vacancies with 10% retired professors, 10% professors of practice, and 10% with foreign faculty members. 

It was up to the state universities whether to implement this suggestion or not,” higher education secretary C Samayamoorthy said. “These posts are not permanent. They will be tenured posts for a year or two. All state universities are facing a staff crunch. It will help universities to retain quality faculty members even after retirement while allowing them to employ industry experts and foreign researchers,” he added. 

In the registrars’ meeting, the higher education secretary also instructed reducing the period of vacation given to university faculty members from two months to one month. It was also suggested to refrain from getting the list of external examiners and foreign examiners for PhD evaluation from the guides of the projects. The meeting also discussed merging departments that have poor enrolment and winding up such courses.

The proposed plan of bifurcating the Bharathidasan University is set to increase its financial strain.

As per the proposal mooted by the Department of Higher Education, a new university, named after former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, will be established by bifurcating the Bharathidasan University.

The Bharathidasan University, headquartered in Tiruchi, at present, has jurisdiction over all arts and science colleges in Tiruchi, Karur, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Pudukottai, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, and Nagapattinam districts. It has about 158 institutions under its purview.

It includes 119 non autonomous colleges and institutions. Of them, the colleges in Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Ariyalur and Nagapattinam are expected to be brought under the jurisdiction of the Kalaignar University. Minister for Higher Education Govi Chezhiaan had said that the new university would be headquartered at Kumbakonam.

The Bharathidasan University has a sanctioned strength of about 263 faculty members for four faculties, 16 schools, 39 departments, and 29 specialised centres in addition to the non-teaching faculty members. It depends mainly on the revenue generated through collecting affiliation fee from colleges, course affiliation fee, new programmes fee, student enrolment fee, examination fee, revenue generated from the students of distance education, and its corpus fund. According to sources, the university is struggling to meet its financial obligations, including salaries for the teaching and non-teaching staff members because of steady decline in revenue sources. It is attributed to various factors, including issues involving the running of distance education centres and the drying up of State funding.

It requires ₹6.5 crore to ₹8 crore every month for meeting its salary obligations to its both teaching and non-teaching faculties. The dwindling resources trouble the university officials to pay the salary. It will increase the burden once the Kalaignar University comes into being.

It is expected that the university will face nearly 50% drop in revenue from its affiliated institutions and colleges as the colleges that are expected to be part of the Kalaignar University will stop paying to the Bharathidasan University.

A senior official of the Bharathidasan University told The Hindu that there was no issue as of now in meeting its expenditure and it was being managed well.

The modalities of managing the resources would be known only after further proceedings of the proposed establishment of the new university.

CHENNAI: Around 180 passengers aboard an Air India flight from Singapore had a narrow escape on Wednesday morning after pilots were forced to abort landing at Chennai airport due to an unstable approach and crosswinds. The flight, which was scheduled to land at 10:15 am, descended to as low as 200 feet before the pilots initiated a go-around. 

It eventually landed safely on the second attempt after circling the airport, resulting in a delay of nearly 30 minutes.  In this case, the descent was too steep, and there was a sudden shift in wind speed,” a source familiar with the matter said. The incident raised fresh concerns over recent landing-related events at Chennai airport. In October last year, an Indigo flight from Jaipur had to make a touch-and-go due to similar issues, while in March this year, a Mumbai-Chennai flight suffered tail damage during touchdown.

New Delhi : The income tax department has extended the deadline for filing of tax returns by individuals from July 31 to Sept 15 in the wake of several amendments to the law, which have necessitated revisions in the notified ITRs for this assessment year, requiring the authorities to rework the technology platform, among other things. “The notified ITRs for Assessment Year 2025-26 (FY2024-25) have undergone structural and content revisions aimed at simplifying compliance, enhancing transparency, and enabling accurate reporting. 

These changes have necessitated additional time for system development, integration, and testing of the corresponding utilities. Furthermore, credits arising from TDS statements, due for filing by 31st May, 2025, are expected to begin reflecting in early June, limiting the effective window for returns filing in the absence of such extension,” the central board of direct taxes said in astatement. For the last few years, the tax department has been sticking to the July-31 deadline meant for individuals who do not need to get audits done. The deadline covers the bulk of I-T returns filed during the year. Whenever the deadline has been extended in the past, it has happened quite late in the day. But this time the I-T department has opted to inform taxpayers early.

நிகழாண்டுக்கான முதுநிலை நீட் தோ்வு ஜூன் 15-ஆம் தேதி நடைபெறவுள்ளது. கணினிவழித் தோ்வாக இரு வேளைகளில் நடத்தப்படும் இந்தத் தோ்வின் முடிவுகள் ஜூலை 15-ஆம் தேதி வெளியிடப்படவுள்ளது.

இந்நிலையில், இரு வேளைகளில் தோ்வு நடத்துவதற்கு எதிா்ப்பு தெரிவித்து உச்சநீதிமன்றத்தில் மனு தாக்கல் செய்யப்பட்டது. அதில், ‘இரு வேளைகளில் தோ்வு நடத்தும்போது தோ்வின் கடினத்தன்மையில் மாறுபாடுகள் ஏற்பட வாய்ப்புள்ளது. எனவே, முதுநிலை நீட் தோ்வு வெளிப்படைத்தன்மையுடனும் நோ்மையுடனும் நடைபெறுவதை உறுதிசெய்ய அதை ஒரே வேளையில் நடத்தி முடிக்க வேண்டும். இதன்மூலம் அனைத்துத் தோ்வா்களும் சரிசமமான போட்டியில் தோ்வெழுதுவதை உறுதிப்படுத்த முடியும்’ எனக் குறிப்பிடப்பட்டது.

இந்த மனு மீது பதிலளிக்குமாறு தேசிய தோ்வுகள் வாரியம், தேசிய மருத்துவ கவுன்சில், மத்திய சுகாதார மற்றும் குடும்பநல அமைச்சகத்துக்கு உச்சநீதிமன்றம் கடந்த 5-ஆம் தேதி உத்தரவிட்டிருந்தது.

அதன்பிறகு இந்த மனு மீது உச்சநீதிமன்றத் தலைமை நீதிபதி பி.ஆா்.கவாய், நீதிபதி அகஸ்டின் ஜாா்ஜ் மாசி ஆகியோா் அடங்கிய அமா்வு மே 23-ஆம் தேதி விசாரணை நடத்தியது. அப்போது அடுத்த வாரம் இந்த மனுவை விசாரணைக்கு பட்டியலிடுவதாக நீதிபதிகள் அமா்வு கூறியது. ஆனால் பட்டியலிடப்படவில்லை. இதை திங்கள்கிழமை மனுதாரா் தரப்பில் ஆஜரான வழக்குரைஞா் சுட்டிக்காட்டினாா்.

இதையடுத்து, இந்த வாரத்தில் மனுவை விசாரணைக்கு பட்டியலிடுவதாக நீதிபதிகள் அமா்வு கூறியது. ஆனால் ஜூன் 2-ஆம் தேதி முதுநிலை நீட் தோ்வுக்கான அனுமதிச் சீட்டு வெளியிடப்படுவதால், அதற்கு முன்பே விசாரணை நடத்த வேண்டும் என மனுதாரா் தரப்பு வழக்குரைஞா் வலியுறுத்தினாா்.

இதைத் தொடா்ந்து, இன்னும் ஒன்று அல்லது இரண்டு நாள்களில் இந்த மனுவை விசாரணைக்கு பட்டியலிடுவதாக தலைமை நீதிபதி பி.ஆா்.கவாய் தெரிவித்தாா்.

தினம் நான்கு கிலோ மீட்டா் நடந்தால், உடல் நலத்துடன், மனக் கவலைகளும் மறைய வாய்ப்பு உண்டு - இது செய்தி.

எனக்கிருக்கும் கவலைகளுக்கு, கன்னியாகுமரியில் இருந்து காஷ்மீா் வரை நடந்தால் கூட, என் கவலைகள் மறையுமா என்பது சந்தேகம்தான்.

இந்த ஜோக், வாட்சப்பில் வந்தது .

உண்மைதான்! ‘கவலை இல்லாத மனிதன்’ என்பது திரைப்படத்தின் அல்லது கதையின் தலைப்பாக வேண்டுமானால் இருக்கலாம். உண்மையில் வாழ்க்கையில் கவலை இல்லாதவா் என்று யாரும் கிடையாது.

கவலை, பிறக்கும்போதே, தாய்ப்பாலுடன் உள்ளே புகுந்து விடுகிறது. அவரவா்கள் நிலைக்கேற்ப, வயதுக்கேற்ப, கவலைகள். இன்னும் சொல்லப்போனால், கவலைகள் ஒவ்வொருவா் கைகளிலும் அழியாத ரேகைகளாய் இருக்கின்றன என்றால் மிகையாகாது. அளவு வேண்டுமானால் வேறுபடலாம்.

பாரதி,

கவலைகள் அவனைத் தின்று விடும்போல் இருக்கிாம். பாவம்! சுற்றிலும் எத்தனை முள்வேலிகள் அவனுக்கு? ஆட்சியாளா்கள் துரத்தல், அச்சுறுத்தல்; பணி செய்யமுடியாத அளவு நோ்மையும், ரௌத்ரமும்; கையில் காசு கிடையாது; குடும்பம் ஒருபுறம்; மண்ணின் மீது, அறியாத மக்களின் மீது கவலை, கோபம், ஆத்திரம்; இறுதியில், கடவுளிடம் கோபம், சோகம், வருத்தம், நிறைந்த வேண்டுதல்கள்.

மனக்கவலை மாற்றல் அவ்வளவு எளிதல்ல. மிக சுலபமாகப் பேசலாம்; எழுதலாம்; அறிவுரை கூறலாம்; ஆனால், நெஞ்சில் தைத்த முள்ளாக, கவலைகள் ஒவ்வொருவா் மனதிலும், இருந்து கொண்டேதான் இருக்கின்றன.

இளம் வயதிலேயே, மறைந்துவிட்ட அற்புதக் கவிஞன், நெல்லையை சோ்ந்த கவிஞா் பூலாங்குளம் மாயவனாதன்,

கவலைகள் கிடக்கட்டும் மறந்துவிடு

காரியம் நடக்கட்டும் துணிந்து விடு

என்கிறாா்.

கண்ணதாசன், ‘அழகைக் காட்டும் கண்ணாடி, மனத்தைக் காட்டக் கூடாதா’ என்று கேட்கிறாா். மனது இப்படித்தான் என தெரிந்தால், கவலைகள் வராது என்கிறாா். ‘நினைக்க தெரிந்த மனமே உனக்கு மறக்கத் தெரியாதா’ என்றும் கேட்கிறாா்.

மறதி எல்லாருக்கும் இறைவன் அளித்த வரப்பிரசாதம். என்றோ நடந்தது நினைவிலேயே இருந்தால், என்றும் அமைதி இல்லை; கவலைகள்தான் மனதை ஆக்கிரமிக்கும்.

விவேகானந்தா், ‘ மனத்தை விரிவாக்கு. மனத்தின் விரிவு வாழ்வு; மனத்தின் குறுகல் மரணம்’ என்பாா்.

உலகத்தையே ஜெயிக்க நினைத்த பிரான்ஸ் மாவீரன் நெப்போலியன் கடைசிக் காலத்தில் பிரிட்டனிடம் தோல்வி அடைந்தாா். தோல்வி அடைந்த நெப்போலியனை பிரிட்டிஷ் ராணுவம் சிறைப்பிடித்து ஆப்பிரிக்க தனிச்சிறையில் தனிமையில் வைத்தது. சிறையில், மன உளைச்சலில் அவரின் கடைசிக் காலம் கழிந்தது. அவரைப் பாா்க்க வந்த அவரின் நண்பா் ஒருவா் அவரிடம் ஒரு சதுரங்க அட்டையைக் கொடுத்து, ‘‘இது உங்களின் சிந்தனையைச் செயல்பட வைக்கும், தனிமையைப் போக்கும்’’ என்று கூறி அவரிடம் கொடுத்தாா். ஆனால் சிறைப்படுத்தி விட்டாா்களே என்ற மன உளைச்சலில் கவலையில் இருந்த மாவீரனுக்குச் சிந்தனை செயல்படாமல், அதன் மீது கவனம் போகவில்லை. சிறிது காலத்தில் இறந்தும் போனாா்.

பிற்காலத்தில் பிரான்ஸ் அருங்காட்சியகம் மாவீரன் நெப்போலியனிடம் இருந்த சதுரங்க அட்டையை ஏலம் விட அதை ஆய்வு செய்த போது அந்த அட்டையின் நடு பக்கத்தில் சிறிய அளவில் ஒரு குறிப்பு இருந்தது. அதில் அந்த சிறைச்சாலையில் இருந்து தப்பிச் செல்வதற்கான வழியை அந்த குறிப்பு சொல்லி இருந்தது. ஆனால், மன உளைச்சலும், பதற்றமும் அவரின் சிந்தனையைச் செயல்படாமல் ஆக்கி வைத்தது.

உறுதியான சிமெண்ட் தரையையும், மரப்பெட்டியையும் தன் கூா்மையான பற்களாலும், நகத்தாலும் எலி குடைந்து ஓட்டை போடும். அதே மரத்தால் செய்யப்பட்ட எலிப்பொறியில் சிக்கிக் கொண்டால், அதற்கு ஏற்படும் மன உளைச்சலாலும், பதற்றத்தாலும், பொறியை உடைக்கும் வழியை விட்டுவிட்டு அந்தப் பொறியின் பின்னால் இருக்கும் கம்பிக்கு முன்னாலும் பின்னாலும் பதற்றத்துடன் சென்று சிந்தனை செய்யாமல் மனிதா்களிடம் மாட்டிக்கொண்டு விடும்.

மாவீரனுக்கும் சரி, சாதாரண எலிக்கும் சரி, பதற்றமும் மன உளைச்சலும், கவலையும் அவா்களின் சிந்தனையைச் செயல்படாமல் வைத்து முன்னேற்றத்துக்கான வழியை அடைத்து விடுகிறது.

பகவத் கீதையில், கண்ணன் கவலை ஒரு மனிதனின் மனத்தைத், தூசு, கண்ணாடியை மறைப்பதுபோல மறைக்கிறது என்கிறான். எவ்வளவுதான் கவலைகள் இருந்தாலும், ‘இதுவும் கடந்து போகும்’ என்ற மனப்பான்மையே, கவலைகளைப் போக்கும் அருமருந்தாகிறது. நிச்சயம் இரவுக்குப் பகல் உண்டு என்ற கவிஞனின் வரிகள் உண்மைதானே!

பூப்போன்ற உள்ளத்திலும் முள் இருக்கும் உலகம் இது. அதிலிருந்து எப்படி விலகுவது, அதை உணா்வது என்பதுதான் அறிதலும், புரிதலும். அறிவு அற்றம் காக்கும் கருவி என்கிறாா் வள்ளுவா்.

கவலைப் படுவதாலோ, கண்ணீா் விடுவதாலோ, பிரச்சனைகள் தீரப் போவதில்லை. அதனால்

தான், சரணாகதியை மருந்தாக கூறுகிறாா்கள். பாரதியும்கூட, ‘நின்னை சரண் அடைந்தேன்’ என்கிறான்.

கவலைகளை மனத்தில் ஏற்ற ஏற்ற, அது உடலை, மனத்தை அடைப்பாய் அடைத்துவிடும். வாழ்வை இறைவன் பாதங்களில் ஒப்படைத்துக் கவலையின்றி வாழ்தலே சிறப்பு.

“கவலை” என்பதை வலையாகப் பின்ன விடாமல் இருக்க, அந்த வாா்த்தையில் உள்ள “‘வ’” என்ற எழுத்தை எடுத்து விட்டால், கலை மீதம் இருக்கிறது. கவலை, கலை ஆகிவிடும்! கலை என்பது இசை உள்ளிட்ட பொழுதுபோக்குகளைக் காட்டும். மனம் மாறும்; மகிழ்ச்சியை நாடும்.

Covid tally past 1k; symptoms mild, say docs India's Covid-19 tally crossed the 1,000-mark on Monday with states like Delhi, Maharashtra, Kerala and Gujarat witnessing a sharp uptick in positive cases over the past week. There are 1,009 active cases currently. At least six deaths have also been reported so far: three from Maharashtra, two in Kerala and one from Karnataka. It's suspected that the current surge is being caused by the emergence of new sub-variants that can escape immunity developed through previous infection and vaccination. However, doctors and experts say these variants aren't causing severe symptoms.
