Chennai: Observing that single parenting is a dangerous concept for society, the Madras high court held that a child needs the affection of both its mother and father.

Justice N. Kirubakaran, before whom a contempt petition filed by Girija Raghavan of Chennai, seeking to punish the Union ministry of women and child development for not obeying the court order dated October 16, 2015, came up for hearing on Friday, said that one cannot compensate the other, and the lack of such affection and love might cause behavioural changes in the child, which could turn against the society.

The judge noted that the concept of family from joint to nuclear has now evolved to single parenting. Referring to a recent sexual abuse case in the city, justice Kirubakaran said, “What kind of parents are they to be unaware of what is happening to their child.”

The judge said, it is time Union ministry of women and child development is bifurcated to establish a dedicated ministry for child development alone. He also asked the Central government as to why there cannot be separate ministries for women development and child development at the Centre, since as of now, both ministries continued to function under the head of union ministry of women and child development.

The judge directed the assistant solicitor general to get instructions from the Union government regarding the separation. The judge has also asked the assistant solicitor general to get instructions from the ministry as to whether they have issued any guidelines to spend the Nirbhaya fund being allotted to the state governments, and posted the plea to August 17.

It may be noted that in an order dated October 16, 2015, the court suggested the ministry to consider ‘castration’ of child abusers, particularly, child rapists, as an additional punishment apart from other punishments under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, IPC and the Juvenile Justice Act. The court passed the order when an accused filed a criminal original petition challenging the trial in a lower court in a criminal case filed against him under the POCSO Act.

The accused allegedly attempted to have sexual intercourse with a 15-year old boy, in an unnatural way. Among other directions, Justice N Kirubakaran directed the Union government to incorporate columns in Indian visa forms issued to foreign nationals to provide details of their pending cases, and cases of conviction as provided in UK visa forms.The Centre was also asked to instruct all the state governments to conduct massive awareness programmes about crimes against children as provided under Pocso Act. The present contempt plea has been moved since Union failed to implement several directions.

Can’t release Rajiv killers as proposed by TN: Centre

The Centre has turned down the proposal of Tamil Nadu government for release of seven convicts in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case and told the Supreme Court on Friday that freeing would set a very wrong precedent.

The Centre took the decision on the direction of the apex court which had in January asked it to take a call on the proposal submitted by Tamil Nadu in 2016. Placing the government’s decision before a bench of Justices Ranjan Gogoi, Navin Sinha and K M Joseph, additional solicitor general Pinky Anand and advocate Rajesh Ranjan said the Centre is not agreeable to the state government’s proposal.

Rajiv case convicts don’t deserve any leniency: Centre

With the Supreme Court ruling that the state government cannot remit the sentence of a convict in cases probed by a central agency, the Centre’s approval was mandatory for releasing the late PM’s killers as the case was probed by the CBI.

“The central government, in pursuance of section 435 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, does not concur to the proposal of Tamil Nadu government contained in the communication letter dated March 2, 2016 for grant of further remission of sentence to these seven convicts,” the government said in its report.

The seven convicts are, V Sriharan @Murgan, T Suthendreraja @Santhan, A G Perarivalan, Jayakumar, Robert Payas, Ravichandran and Nalini. All convicts are lodged in the Central Prison (Vellore) in Tamil Nadu.

Santhan, Murugan and Perarivalan were awarded the death sentence by a TADA court which was upheld by the apex court but on February 18, 2014 the same court commuted their death sentence to life imprisonment on the ground of 11 years’ delay in deciding their mercy pleas by the Centre. A day after the apex court order, the Tamil Nadu government decided to remit their sentences along with that of Nalini, Robert Pious, Jayakumar and Ravichandran to pave the way for them to get out of jail.

The Centre said in its reply that the convicts did not deserve any leniency as they committed an act of exceptional depravity and it was an “unparallel act in the annals of crimes committed in the country”.

The case involves the killing of a former Prime Minister who was brutally assassinated in pursuance of diabolical plot carefully conceived and executed by a foreign terrorist organization. The killing brought the Indian democratic process to a grinding halt as the Lok Sabha elections in some states had to be postponed, it said.

State councils blame MCI for docs’ registry mess

Several State Medical Councils have expressed shock at the Medical Council of India (MCI) submitting outdated and wrong data to Parliament year after year. According to the office bearers of these councils, they have been sending updated lists to the MCI but do not see it reflected in the Indian Medical Register (IMR). Maintaining the IMR is one of the fundamental and statutory duties of the MCI.

While MCI had told TOI that the state councils were to blame for not regularly sending information on registered doctors to it, most state councils refuted this allegation.

In the case of Karnataka, for instance, the MCI data submitted to Parliament recently showed 1.04 lakh doctors registered. The data MCI gave TOI also said the state council had not submitted any data in 2015 or 2016. However, the state council insisted that it has been submitting data every quarter. The Karnataka Medical Council started the process of re-registration of doctors every five years in 2013 and after renewal had about 1,23,436 doctors in the registry as of March 2018, nearly 20,000 more than the MCI data shows.

“It is disrespect to Parliament to not make any effort whatsoever to give the latest data and not even explain to Parliament that the data being submitted has not been updated. A statutory body like the MCI is not expected to behave like this,” said KMC president, Dr H Veerbhadrappa.

Similarly, the Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC) has not only done the process of re-registration of doctors every five years, the entire list of 86,567 doctors registered with it is available on the council’s website.

Kerala flood toll at 29; 6 die in 1 day

The discharge of water from all five shutters of Cheruthoni dam reached eight lakh litres per second on Friday, submerging most parts of Cheruthoni town and raising the water level at Bhoothathankettu dam downstream by 1.2 metres. Authorities are preparing for possible flooding in Aluva and other parts of Ernakulam district which lie in the path of the water draining into the Arabian Sea. The Army’s help has been sought to deal with the crisis.

The IMD has forecast heavy rain for the next 48 hours and the government has issued a red alert in Wayanad, Idukki, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Palakkad, Malappuram and Kozhikode districts. The red alert will be in force at Wayanad till August 14 and in Idukki till August 13. Shutters of 25 dams in the state remain open resulting in considerable spurt in water level in rivers. Death toll in the last 48 hours has touched 29, with six deaths in 24 hours and four people reported missing. TNN

More than 57 tourists, including 22 foreigners, rescued from Idukki

Twenty five people died in landslides while four drowned. Twelve deaths were reported from Idukki, six from Malappuram, four from Wayanad, two from Palakkad and one from Kannur. Three drowning deaths were reported from Ernakulam and one from Thiruvananthapuram. As many as 57 tourists, including 22 foreigners, who were trapped inside a resort at Pallivasal in Idukki were rescued by the Army by constructing a parallel path that led them to the main road.

As many as 439 relief camps have been opened in the state in which 53,502 people from 12,240 families are staying. Most number of relief camps have been opened in Wayanad and Ernakulam districts — 127 and 68 respectively. Over 10,000 people are staying in relief camps in Wayanad and 7,500 in relief camps in Ernakulam.

After reviewing the flood situation late on Friday evening, chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan deputed two IAS officers – Mohammed Haneesh and MG Rajamanickam – to coordinate relief measures in Ernakulam. Land revenue commissioner A T James has been deputed to coordinate operations in Wayanad. The review meeting also decided to streamline supply of safe drinking water in all relief camps. On Saturday, Vijayan and revenue minister E Chandrashekaran will inspect flood-hit areas in a helicopter. Chief secretary Tom Jose and additional chief secretary (revenue) P H Kurien will accompany them.

The state police chief has directed all district police chiefs to provide additional security in places where ‘Karkkadaka Vavu Bali’ – the annual Hindu ritual for the departed – will be conducted on Saturday.

Audit of Periyar University finds ₹47 crore irregularity

The Local Fund Audit (LCA) department has raised 691objections amounting to Rs 47.44 crore pending since 1997 in city-based Periyar University’s account auditing.

The audit report for the 2015-16 was placed before the senate meeting of the university recently.

The report has directed the university to settle all the objections at the earliest. “One of the main directions was to settle ₹47,44,16,267 crore pending since 1997,” a senior senator said on condition of anonymity. He said irregularities and misappropriation of funds started in the university since its inception. The university was inaugurated by former chief minister M Karunanidhi in 1997. Subsequently, an audit was carried out by the LCA at the end of 1997-98 financial year. “Irregularities to the tune of ₹14.63 lakh were found in both 1997-98 and 1998-99 financial years,” the senator said.

The irregularities include utilizing university fund for personal reasons and payment of salary for professors and lecturers above the sanctioned strength. A few former vice-chancellors, registrars, professors and lecturers had availed advance salaries and failed to produce proper bills or receipts for the same.

Similarly, an amount of ₹12.22 lakh in 1999-2000 and 2000-01, ₹34.47 lakh in 2002-03, ₹1.12 crore in 2005-06, ₹9.89 crore in 2009-10 and ₹13.18 crore in 2014-15 remain unaccounted for by the university. “Even in 2015-16 financial year, ₹1.73 crore was utilised irregularly by the university,” the senator said. Vice-chancellor P Kolandaivel said of the 691 objections, 100 had been cleared. “Similarly, another 150 objections have been sent for ratification. They will be cleared shortly,” he said. He said at least 300 and more objections would be cleared before the end of this year. The V-C said the university management had not wasted even a single paise.

DMK demands Bharat Ratna for Karunanidhi

The DMK on Friday demanded in Parliament that the government posthumously confer Bharat Ratna, the country’s highest civilian award, on party patriarch M Karunanidhi. Several members from the opposition bench supported this.

Raising the demand in the Rajya Sabha, Tiruchi Siva said the award would be a real tribute to the late Tamil Nadu leader’s exemplary work.

Karunanidhi was the “tallest leader of the country and a Dravidian stalwart,” said the Rajya Sabha member.

“He lived five years short of a century, of which he contributed 80 years to public life, fighting for the cause of the downtrodden, backward and the suppressed people...He was an outstanding orator, a prolific writer, a novelist, a short-story writer, a philosopher, a philanthropist and also a dramatist. He was an actor and also wrote scripts for 80 movies,” Siva said The lawmaker said Karunanidhi’s life could not be described in words. A staunch and untiring soldier, he was fighting till his last breath, for social justice, secularism, state autonomy and self respect, Siva said.

The MP highlighted some of the laws enacted during the DMK leader’s tenure including equal rights for women in ancestral property, widows’ rehabilitation, slum clearance board and many other boards for unorganised sector and even transsexuals.

“He was the first one to abolish the hand-pulled rickshaw. That was a very radical and progressive achievement. He said that no person should live in slums; slums should be removed; and in their place multi-storey buildings must come. The term ‘differently abled’ was coined by him... He shook hands for relationship and at the same time never compromised in policies and never hesitated to raise voice for the rights,” the MP said.

40% engg colleges fill < 10 seats each

After the third round of Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counselling ended on Thursday, 214 self-financing engineering colleges — which is more than 40% of the total number of colleges in the state — have filled less than 10 seats each, while 71 have not filled even a single seat Going by the trend, educationists say, many colleges will fail to fill the AICTE-mandated 30% seats after five rounds of counselling. Only 47 of the 473 self-financing colleges have filled more than 30% seats so far.

“Given that so many colleges have such low numbers at the end of the third round, many of them will struggle to fill even 50 seats by the end. This year particularly is showing dip in interest in engineering, which started off as a pattern a few years ago,” said educationist and career consultant Jayaprakash Gandhi.



‘Anna Univ has to invest in future tech’

Jayaprakash Gandhi said, “This is a wake-up call for both institutions and engineering recruiters. Anna University and its affiliated colleges have to rethink and invest in future technologies and plan their syllabus according to the industry’s needs.”

TNEA officials said the number of eligible candidates in the next round is 23,000, while 26,000 are eligible below the 125 cut-off. As cut-offs drop, the number of absentees increases usually, said a faculty member of a reputed college. “With less than 50,000 eligible candidates left, it is going to be a challenge going forward. The top colleges still have many seats left,” he said.

The veering of students towards other streams including courses in arts and science colleges is a major reason, say colleges. Many top students are also aiming for civil services.

Preferences for even the traditional ‘brand’ colleges had taken a hit this year over previous years, said Gandhi. “Newer ones like Chennai Institute of Technology, Sri Eswar and others have done much better in terms of percentage of seats filled compared to previous years and are competing with the traditional brands.”

Prof Manivannan of RMK Group of Institutions said students and parents were no longer just aiming for an ‘engineering college’ butlooking at placement records and teaching standards. “Engineering aspirants talk to students who have passedoutof a college aswell as the current batch of students and faculty before applying. They are leaning toward easy accessibility, so colleges in cities like Chennai and Coimbatore are faring well,” he said.

Can the trend of single parents raising children have wide-ranging adverse effects on society as a whole? The Madras high court thinks so. Noting that a child needs the affection of both mother and father, the court on Friday observed that single parenting is a “dangerous concept for society”. One cannot compensate for the other and the lack of such affection and love might cause behavioural changes, causing the child to turn against society, it said.


Justice N Kirubakaran made the observation while hearing a contempt plea moved against the secretary of Union ministry of women and child development for allegedly failing to comply with the direction issued by the court to check child abuse.

In its order dated October 16, 2015, the court suggested the ministry to consider ‘castration’ to child abusers, particularly child rapists, as an additional punishment apart from other punishments under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act, IPC and the Juvenile Justice Act.

This apart, the court directed the Union government to incorporate columns in Indian visa forms issued to foreign nationals to give the details of their pending cases, and cases of conviction as provided in UK Visa form. The petitioner moved the contempt plea because the Centre failed to implement these directions. When the plea came up for hearing on Friday, Justice Kirubakaran noted that the concept of joint family had initially shrunk to a nuclear, and then to single parenting. Referring to a recent sexual abuse cases reported in Chennai, the court said, “What kind of parents are they to be unaware of what is happening to their child.” The court observed it is time to bifurcate the Union ministry of women and child development and establish a dedicated ministry for child development. The judge asked the assistant solicitor-general, representing the Centre, to get instructions from the ministry as to whether they had issued any guidelines to spend the Nirbhaya fund being allotted to the state governments. He posted the hearing to August 17.

International students in the US will find the going tougher after the final policy guidelines were published by the immigration arm of the US government.

Starting August 9, the students and their dependents (namely spouses accompanying them) will automatically begin to accrue unlawful presence in the US, the day after they violate their ‘student status’ even if the period of stay granted to them has not expired. The new policy issued by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services reverses the prior guidelines, under which the clock to calculate the number of days of unlawful presence began to tick from the day authorities discovered the violation or an immigration judge passed an order.

The tweaked policy has serious repercussions as individuals who accrue more than 180 days of unlawful presence before they leave the US can be barred from re-entry for three to 10 years. After the Chinese, Indians are the largest group of foreign students in the US. International Student Data from the Open Doors Report (2017) shows that there are 1.86 lakh Indian students in the US.

‘Students can land in trouble even if USCIS makes errors’

Unlawful presence can be triggered by various reasons, not just overstay. It could kick in, for instance, if a student does not meet the minimum number of hours per week the educational institution determines is necessary for completion of their study program (this is referred to as falling below a full course of study). It can also be triggered in cases of unauthorized employment or overstaying in the US beyond the grace period available after completion of study.

There is a slight relaxation as compared to the draft policy, as reported by TOI on May 14. Under the revised final policy memorandum, international students who fall out of status and timely file (within five months) for reinstatement of that status will have their accrual of unlawful presence suspended while the application is pending.

If the reinstatement application is denied, the accrual of unlawful presence resumes on the day after the denial, said an official USCIS statement.

Cyrus D Mehta, New York-based immigration attorney, explained to TOI that the improvement is insignificant, especially for a student who may have unknowingly violated his status earlier. If this is discovered many years later, the accrual will be from the day of violation and the student could find himself or herself debarred.

Rajiv S Khanna, managing attorney of Immigration.com , gave TOI a live illustration. “One example of unknowing violation of student status is where the educational institute commits errors in entering information into the SEVIS system (data base to be maintained for foreign students). We had a case where a student authorised to work on campus was the victim of such inaccuracy, where the university authorities wrongly entered the work hours, thus reflecting that he had put in more hours than he was allowed to. Under the new policy, the student would start accruing unlawful presence on the date the violation occurred.”

Mehta added: “Students in practical training can also be found to have violated status if their training is later found to have not been consistent with their degree, and STEM students under optional practical training (OPT) will be even more in jeopardy.”

Khanna pointed out that even errors made the USCIS can land a student in trouble.

Medical counselling

The second round of counselling for medical admission will begin on Saturday with 128 seats in the government medical colleges.

Of the vacant seats, 98 were surrendered under the All India Quota and 30 under the allotment of government seats in self-financing institutions.

A total of 27 seats in government dental college will also be filled during the counselling which will be held till August 13. A total of 113 seats in self-financing institutions will also be filled in this round.

The Directorate of Medical Education has called all the 3,500 candidates as per their ranks for counselling. “Since we permit re-allotment we will call everyone from rank 1,” said selection secretary G. Selvarajan.

N. Usha Nanthini was in class VIII when her father, who had gone to Saudi Arabia on contract fishing, died mysteriously in 2013. The family could not even afford to bring back the body of Narayanan, her father, and had given consent to have the body buried there itself.

Her widowed mother took up fish cleaning work to eke out a living. Nanthini wanted to drop out and join her mother, but Umayammal, 41, was very clear that she should continue her studies.

Thanks to her mother’s persuasion, she continued her studies in the Government school at Thangachimadam in Rameswaram island and passed class X scoring 483 out of 500 marks. The ‘elite school’, established here for poor students offered her special coaching with free boarding and lodging facilities. She cleared plus two examinations with a cut off mark of 195.50 and secured admission in the prestigious College of Engineering Guindy (CEG), a constituent college of Anna University

She has opted for Information Technology in CEG but financial constraints prove to be a stumbling block. Her mother, who earns about Rs. 200 per day, was clueless and one of her customer’s son, who is employed in Bengaluru helped her with Rs. 40,000, mobilised through his friends.

The poor widow has managed to admit her daughter after borrowing Rs. 20,000 and pledging some jewels. Nanthini has paid Rs. 20,625 towards admission and Rs. 31,000 for the hostel but has no clue to meet the subsequent expenditure. “I want to complete the course and take care of my mother but money is a problem,” she says. Recalling her husband’s death, Umayammal said that he had worked in Saudi Arabia for two years and had gone back on September 26, 2013 after a break but died within 14 days,

Neither the employer nor the government offered her any compensation, she added.

Dinesh, a Dalit boy from Panaiadiyendal near Kilakarai, who has joined Electronics and Communication Engineering in CEG under the ‘self-support’ category, is also struggling for financial support.

His parents are farm workers and his father has borrowed money to pay the admission fee of Rs. 14,200 and hostel fee of Rs. 32,170, he says.

Plea seeks to quash TNAU notification

It calls for applications for appointment as officers

A petition was filed before the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on Friday challenging the notification issued by Tamil Nadu Agricultural University calling for applications for appointment as university officers.

The petitioner, S. Selvakumar an Assistant Professor of Soil and Water Conservative Engineering working at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Virudhunagar, claimed that the university, in a circular dated July 23, called for applications to various posts. All the 27 vacancies were earmarked for open competition and did not follow the reservation system. The selection was open to only those who worked with the university and not open to everyone, he said.

He claimed that the University Grants Commission and Ministry of Human Resources Development had issued circulars categorically emphasising the implementation of reservation policy by all Central and State universities receiving grant in aid and other universities. Also, the eligibility criterion for such posts under the TNAU Act, 1971, was six years of service as Professor. But the notification called for those experienced as professor for five years, contrary to the Act, he claimed.

The petitioner further added that the tenure of university officers, which could be renewed as per the Act, was not mentioned in the circular. The notification had to be set aside as it was not in accordance with the Act, the petitioner contended. A division bench of Justices M. M. Sundresh and N. Sathish Kumar directed notice to the respondents concerned and adjourned the case.

Court orders Rs. 3.95 cr. compensation in accident case

Second Additional District Judge P.R. Ramakrishnan has awarded a compensation of Rs. 3.95 crore to the two brothers, who lost both their parents in an accident in 2015.

The prosecution case is that Manoj Jain (39), of Udayappar Colony in Salem, was an assistant manager at a company in New Delhi.

On May 30, 2015, he along with his wife Saveetha (32) and two sons, Sidharth (9) and Mano (6), were on their way in a car to Bengaluru to board a flight to New Delhi. While nearing Kaveripattinam junction on the Dharmapuri – Krishnagiri National Highway, a goods-laden van hit their car. In the impact, both Manoj Jain and Saveetha, died on the spot, while their two sons suffered injuries, and were admitted to hospital.

Kaveripattinam police registered a case.

Manoj Jain’s parents and his two sons had filed a case in the court seeking compensation.

Action sought against private medical college

It had asked interns for additional fees

The Doctors’ Association for Social Equality (DASE) has urged the State government to take action against a private medical college in Kanniyakumari district for demanding additional hostel fees from interns.

In a press release issued on Friday, G. R. Ravindranath, general secretary, DASE, said there were complaints from students that the college was demanding additional fee for hostel from the interns. The college management has curbed use of mobile phones and did not allow students to wear their stethoscopes around their neck, he said.

“The interns had already paid Rs. one lakh as hostel fees. The college management is demanding that they pay Rs. 50,000 more,” he said.

He urged the State government to intervene immediately and solve the problems faced by the students.

UGC to train senior staff for Vice Chancellor post

The initial candidates will be selected by the HRD Ministry

University Grants Commission is drafting a training programme for senior professors to be appointed as Vice Chancellors. The scheme looks to equip prospective candidates to administrate the university affairs. “The training is for the prospective educational leaders ,” said Dhirendra Pal Singh, chairman, UGC.

The UGC will invite for applications from potential candidates and will forwarded them to the Ministry of Human Resource Development for a final selection.

Foreign collaboration

“The training would be in India and abroad in some of the world’s best universities,” Mr. Singh said at an interaction with professors of the University of Madras on Friday. A similar proposal is being considered for existing V-Cs also, he added.

“We should identify our strengths. We want a collaborative programme where the experts from those countries will come here and our people would go there,” he said.

He spoke of the various initiatives the UGC to improve the quality of institutions. The country had 900 universities, over 3.64 crore students and 30 lakh teachers. Education has to be affordable for all, he maintained.

In the last two decades the number of private universities had risen but the quality of their teaching faculty would increase only if they paid the faculty well, he said.

Dental student, 20,ends life

NAMAKKAL: A fourth year student of a dental college committed suicide by hanging near Tiruchengode in Namakkal district on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as S Dharini, 20, of Rameswaram in Ramanathapuram district. She was studying BDS in Vivekanandha Dental College for Women in Tiruchengode.

According to the Tiruchengode rural police, Dharini didn’t go to the college and stayed in her room in the hostel.

When her roommates returned on Monday evening, they found the main door of the room closed from inside. There was no response when they knocked the door for few minutes.

When they peeped through the door gap, they found Dharini hanging from the ceiling.

They immediately alerted their college management who in turn alerted the Tiruchengode rural police. Police broke opened the door and retrieved the body.

Police also seized a suicide note from the girl’s room. In the note, Dharini had mentioned that she joined BDS due to her parents’ compulsion.

உணவுப் பாதுகாப்புத் துறையின் வாட்ஸ் அப் எண்ணுக்குச் சமீபத்தில் புகார் ஒன்று வந்தது. அதில் கன்றுக்குட்டி இறைச்சி குறித்த வீடியோ ஆதாரத்துடன் புகார் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டிருந்தது. சம்பந்தப்பட்ட கடை சென்னை பெரிய மேடு, நேவல் ஹாஸ்பிட்டல் சாலையில் இருப்பதை அறிந்த உணவுப் பாதுகாப்புத் துறை அதிகாரிகள் அங்கு சென்று சோதனை நடத்தினர்.

அந்தக் கடையில் மிகப்பெரிய ப்ரீசர் பெட்டியில் பதப்படுத்தப்பட்ட நிலையில் வைக்கப்பட்டதாகத் தெரிவித்த ஆட்டிறைச்சி மற்றும் கோழி இறைச்சியையும், ஆட்டுக் கால்களையும் ஆய்வு செய்தனர். ஆய்வில் அவை ஆட்டிறைச்சியோ, கோழி இறைச்சியோ அல்ல இளம் கன்றுக்குட்டியின் இறைச்சி எனத் தெரியவந்தது.

மாட்டிறைச்சியை ஆட்டிறைச்சி போன்று காண்பிக்க சிறுசிறு துண்டுகளாக வெட்டி வைத்திருந்தனர். மேலும் அரவை இயந்திரத்தில் நன்கு அரைத்த நிலையிலும் இறைச்சி வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தது. க

டை உரிமையாளர்களிடம் உணவுப் பாதுகாப்புத் துறை அதிகாரிகள் நடத்திய விசாரணையில் திடுக்கிடும் தகவல் வெளியானது.



ஆட்டிறைச்சி போல் காணப்படும் இளம் கன்றுக்குட்டிகளை வாணியம்பாடியிலிருந்து இறைச்சிக்காக வெட்டப்பட்டு அவை சென்னைக்கு கொண்டு வரப்படுகின்றன. இந்த இறைச்சி பேருந்துகள் அல்லது வேன் மூலம் சென்னைக்கு கொண்டு வரப்படுகிறது. ஒரு கிலோ 150 ரூபாய்க்கு வாங்கி அவற்றை மேற்சொன்ன முறையில் சிறுதுண்டுகளாக ஆட்டிறைச்சிபோல் வெட்டி பின்னர், பாக்கெட்டுகளில் அடைத்து சாலையோரக் கடைகளுக்கு விற்கின்றனர்.

ஆட்டிறைச்சி கிலோ ரூ.600க்கு வாங்கினால் லாபமில்லை என்பதால் இதுபோன்ற கன்றுக்குட்டி இறைச்சியை ரூ.220க்கு வாங்கிச் செல்லும் சாலையோரக் கடைக்காரர்கள் அவற்றை பிரியாணியிலும், மற்ற அசைவ உணவுகளிலும் ஆட்டிறைச்சி, கோழி இறைச்சி போன்று தயார் செய்து விற்கின்றனர்.

இதையடுத்து, 300 கிலோ கன்றுக்குட்டி இறைச்சியை உணவுப் பாதுகாப்புத் துறை அதிகாரிகள் பறிமுதல் செய்தனர். கன்றுக்குட்டி இறைச்சியை பெரியமேடு, கோயம்பேடு உள்ளிட்ட பல்வேறு இடங்களில் உள்ள பல சாலையோரக் கடைகளுக்கு விற்க வைத்திருந்த இறைச்சிக் கடையின் உரிமையாளர் முகமது உமர், அவரது தந்தை ஸப்ருல்லா மீதும் உணவுப் பாதுகாப்புச் சட்டத்தின் கீழ் வழக்குப் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டது.

இளைஞர்கள் என்றாலே நாள் முழுவதும் முகநூல், கட்செவி அஞ்சலில் மூழ்கிக் கிடப்பவர்கள், சினிமா நடிகர்கள் கட் அவுட்டுக்கு பாலபிஷேகம் செய்பவர்கள், திருமணம், திருவிழா உள்ளிட்ட நிகழ்வுகளில் மது குடித்துவிட்டு ஆட்டம் போடுபவர்கள் என்ற தவறான எண்ணம் யாருக்காவது இருக்குமானால், தயவுசெய்து அதை மாற்றிக் கொள்ளுங்கள்.

மரக்கன்று வைத்து பராமரித்தலை முதன்மைப் பணியாக மேற்கொண்டாலும், நீர்நிலைகளில் மழைநீரை சேமிக்கும் வகையில் துப்புரவுப் பணி, நகர் பகுதியில் டெங்கு உள்ளிட்ட விஷக்காய்ச்சலை தடுக்கும் வகையில் அனைத்து வார்டுகளில் நிலவேம்புக் குடிநீர் வழங்குதல் மற்றும் சுகாதாரப் பணி உள்ளிட்டவற்றை செய்து வருகின்றனர்.

தமிழகத்தில் சாலைப் பணிகளுக்காக சாலையோரங்களில் உள்ள மரங்கள் முழுமையாக அகற்றப்படும் பட்சத்தில், அந்தந்த பகுதியில் உள்ள இளைஞர்கள் தன்னெழுச்சியுடன் எழுந்து, குழுவாக சேர்ந்து இப்பணிகளை மேற்கொண்டால், இன்னும் ஐந்து முதல் பத்து ஆண்டுகளில் தமிழக சாலையோரம் முழுதும் பசுமையாகிவிடும்.

ஏன் நஷ்டமடைந்தது ஏர் இந்தியா?

உலகப் புகழ்பெற்ற விமான நிறுவனங்களில் ஒன்று ஏர் இந்தியா' நிறுவனம். நஷ்டத்தில் இயங்கும் அந்த நிறுவனத்தைத் தனியார் மயமாக்கிவிடலாம் என்ற கொள்கை முடிவினை எடுத்தது மத்திய அரசு. அதை வாங்க முன்வரும் தனியார் நிறுவனங்களிடமிருந்து விண்ணப்பங்களைக் கோரியது. ஆனால், ஏர் இந்தியாவை எந்தவொரு தனியார் அமைப்பும் வாங்க முன்வராதது மத்திய அரசுக்கு அதிர்ச்சியை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளது.

ஆனால், ஏர் இந்தியா நிறுவனத் தொழிலாளர்கள் இதனை மகிழ்ச்சியுடன் ஏற்றுக்கொண்டுள்ளார்கள். எவ்வளவு நஷ்டம் வந்தாலும், தங்களுக்கு வரும் வருமானம் குறையப்போவதில்லை என்ற எண்ணம்தான் இந்த மகிழ்ச்சிக்குக் காரணம். அந்நிறுவனம் நஷ்டத்தில் இயங்கத் தாங்கள்தான் காரணம் என்பதை அவர்கள் ஒப்புக்கொள்ளத் தயாராக இல்லை.

நம் நாட்டில், 1950 மற்றும் 1960-ஆம் ஆண்டுகளில் ஏர் இந்தியா', இந்தியன் ஏர்லைன்ஸ்' என்று இரண்டு பிரிவுகளாக இயங்கிய தேசிய விமான நிறுவனம் நம் நாட்டின் பெருமைக்கு உகந்ததாக இருந்தது. உலகின் சிறந்த விமான நிறுவனங்களுக்கு ஈடாக நம் நாட்டின் இரண்டு விமான நிறுவனங்களும் இயங்கின.

ஏர் இந்தியாவில் பணிபுரிந்த அதிகாரிகளின் ஆலோசனைகளைப் பெற்று, சிங்கப்பூர், மலேசியா போன்ற நாடுகளும் வளைகுடா நாடுகளும் தங்களது விமான நிறுவனங்களை உருவாக்கின. அப்படிப் புகழ் சேர்த்த காலம் போய், இன்றைய காலகட்டத்தில் வெளிநாடுகளுக்குப் பயணம் செய்ய விரும்பும் இந்தியர்கள், தில்லி, மும்பை போன்ற நம் நாட்டு விமான நிலையங்களில் காத்துக் கிடக்காமல், துபை விமான நிலையத்தில் காத்திருக்கும் நிலை உருவாகிவிட்டது!

அரசு நிறுவனமான ஏர் இந்தியாவின் கடன்களுக்கும், வியாபாரத் தோல்விக்கும் அடிப்படைக் காரணம், அது சரியாக நிர்வகிக்கப்படாததுதான். முன்னாள் பிரதமர் ராஜீவ் காந்தி இந்தியன் ஏர்லைன்ஸில் விமான ஓட்டியாக பணிபுரிந்தார். அவர் பிரதமரான பின், கனடாவின், வான்கூவர் நகரில் நடந்த காமன்வெல்த் நாடுகளின் தலைவர்கள் மாநாட்டில் கலந்து கொள்ள ஏர் இந்தியாவின் ஜெட் விமானத்தில் பயணம் செய்தார். அம்மாநாட்டுக்கு ஜெட் விமானத்தில் வந்த மற்றொருவர் புரூனை நாட்டின் அதிபரான சுல்தான். அன்றிலிருந்து, இந்தியாவின் அரசியல் தலைவர்கள் பலரும் ஏர் இந்தியாவின் ஜெட் விமானங்களில் அரசுமுறைப் பயணங்களை மேற்கொள்ளும் பழக்கம் உருவானது. ஆனால், அந்த பயணங்களுக்காக செலுத்த வேண்டிய கட்டணங்களை அரசு செலுத்தாமல் விட்டதால் ஏர் இந்தியா கடன்சுமையை சுமக்க வேண்டிய கட்டாயம் உருவானது.

அடுத்ததாக, இந்திய நாட்டின் வான்வெளியில் வெளிநாட்டின் விமானங்கள் தங்கு தடையின்றி செல்லும் கொள்கையை நமது அரசு உருவாக்கியது. இதன் காரணமாக, இந்தியன் ஏர்லைன்ஸ் மற்றும் ஏர் இந்தியாவில் பயணிப்போரின் எண்ணிக்கை குறைந்தது. ஆனால், இந்த வருவாய்க் குறைவை கணக்கிலெடுக்காமல் தொடர்ந்து ஏராளமான விமானங்கள் வாங்கப்பட்டதால் கடன்கள்அதிகரித்தன. 2006-07-ஆம் ஆண்டில், இந்தியன் ஏர்லைன்ஸ் 40 ஏர் பஸ் எனும் உயர்ரக விமானங்களை வாங்க முடிவெடுத்தது. ஏர் இந்தியா 50 போயிங் விமானங்களை வாங்க முடிவெடுத்தது.

ஆனால், உயர்ரக விமானங்களை இயக்கத் தேவையான பணியாளர்கள் மற்றும் அதிகாரிகளைத் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கவில்லை. மேலும், தேவையான விமான நிறுத்த இடங்களை உருவாக்கவும் இல்லை. அரசு விமான நிறுவனங்களின் ஆய்வுக் கணக்கீட்டின்படி ஐந்து 777 போயிங் மற்றும் ஐந்து 737 போயிங் விமானங்கள் மூன்று ஆண்டுகள் இயங்காமல் நிறுத்தி வைக்கப்பட்டதால் 84 கோடி ரூபாய் நஷ்டம் ஏற்பட்டது.
இந்த பறக்காத விமானங்களை இயக்க வேண்டும் என்பதற்காக, மிக அதிக சம்பளத்தை வழங்கி 150 வெளிநாட்டு பைலட்டுகளை பணியில் அமர்த்தின, நம் நாட்டின் அரசு விமான நிறுவனங்கள். நல்லவேளையாக, பி-787 ட்ரீம் லைனர்ஸ்' எனும் உயர்ரக விமானங்களை வாங்க உத்தரவிட்டும் அவை ஏர் இந்தியாவிற்கு வரவில்லை. வந்திருந்தால் அவையும் இயங்காமல் அதிக நஷ்டம் உருவாகியிருக்கும். இந்த விமானங்களை வாங்க ஏர் இந்தியா அளித்த முன்தொகைக்கு, குறிப்பிட்ட காலத்தில் விமானங்கள் வழங்கப்படாவிட்டால் முன்பணத்திற்கு வட்டி வசூலிக்கப்படும்' என்ற ஒப்பந்த விதியை ஏற்படுத்தாததால் நஷ்டம் உருவானது. அது போலவே, குறிப்பிட்ட நாளில் விமானங்கள் வழங்கப்படாவிட்டால் நஷ்டஈட்டுத் தொகை வழங்கப்பட வேண்டும் என்ற விதியும் உருவாக்கப்படவில்லை.

விமான நிறுவன அதிகாரிகளின் கவனக் குறைவினால் இந்த விதிமுறைகள் உருவாக்கப்படவில்லையா, அல்லது உயர்விமானத் தயாரிப்பு கம்பெனிகளுக்கு சாதகமான வகையில் இந்த விதிமுறைகள் உருவாக்கப்படவில்லையா என்பது தெரியவில்லை.

2007-ஆம் ஆண்டில் தொடங்கி, 2011-ஆம் ஆண்டு நிறைவடைந்தது நமது நாட்டின் ஏர் இந்தியா- இந்தியன் ஏர்லைன்ஸ் ஆகிய இரு அரசு நிறுவனங்களின் இணைப்பு. இதற்கான காரணம் இதுவரை கூறப்படவில்லை. ஒரே மாதிரியான இரண்டு நிறுவனங்களிலும் பணி புரியும் தொழிலாளர்களின் எண்ணிக்கையைக் குறைக்க நினைத்திருக்கலாம். அதாவது, பயணிகளின் பயணச்சீட்டு மற்றும் பைகளை சரிபார்த்து, அவர்களை விமானத்தில் ஏற்ற 20 பேர் வீதம் இரண்டு விமான நிறுவனங்களுக்கு 40 பேர் இருந்தால், இந்த இரண்டு நிறுவனங்களும் இணைக்கப்பட்டபின், 20 பணியாளர்களே போதும்.
ஆனால், அது நடக்கவில்லை. அதற்குக் காரணம் தொழிலாளர் சங்கங்கள் என்று கூறப்படுகிறது. இன்றும், நமது விமான நிலையங்களில் ஏர் இந்தியா (உள்நாட்டுப் பயணம்) பணியாளர் எனவும், ஏர் இந்தியா (வெளிநாட்டுப் பயணம்) பணியாளர் எனவும் இருப்பதைக் காணலாம்.

இணைப்பின்போது, அரசின் பணம் ரூபாய் 25,000 கோடி, ஏர் இந்தியாவிற்கு வழங்கப்பட்டது. இதன் பின்னரும், ஏர் இந்தியாவின் நிகர மதிப்பீடு ரூபாய் 25,000 கோடி என்றும், அதன் கடன்தொகை ரூபாய் 52,000 கோடி என்பதும் கவனிக்கத்தக்கது.

1932-ஆம் ஆண்டு டாடா ஏர் மெயில்' என்ற விமான நிறுவனம் தொடங்கப்பட்டது. முதல் ஆண்டிலேயே அது குறைந்த லாபம் ஈட்டியது. நம் நாடு சுதந்திரமடைந்த பின், 1952-இல் இந்த விமான நிறுவனம் நாட்டுடைமையாக்கப்பட்டு, ஏர் இந்தியாவாக மாறியது. அரசு அதிகாரிகள் இந்த நிறுவன விமானங்களில்தான் பயணம் செய்ய வேண்டும் என்ற விதி இருந்தது.

மற்ற விமான நிறுவனங்களின் விதிகளின்படி, பயணிப்பவர் 15 கிலோ எடையுள்ள பயணப் பைகளைத்தான் எடுத்துச் செல்லலாம். ஆனால், ஏர் இந்தியா பயணியோ 25 கிலோ பைகளை எடுத்துச் செல்லலாம். பயணக் கட்டணங்களும், மற்ற விமான நிறுவனங்களை விடவும் ஏர் இந்தியாவில் குறைவு. ஏர் இந்தியா விமானங்கள் தரமானவை. இந்த எல்லா அம்சங்களும் இருந்த போதிலும், ஏர் இந்தியாவில் பயணிப்பவர்களின் எண்ணிக்கை மிகவும் குறைவு.

இதற்குக் காரணம் சரியான நிர்வாகம் இல்லாமையே. அரசு அதிகாரிகள் அதிகம் பயணிக்கும் விடுமுறை கால பயண சலுகைகள் (எல்.டி.சி) அறிமுகப்படுத்தப்பட்டது. அதாவது, நவம்பர் மாதம் முதல் ஜனவரி மாதம் வரையில் விடுப்பு எடுத்து குறைந்த கட்டணத்தில் ஏர் இந்தியா விமானத்தில் தில்லியிலிருந்து அந்தமானுக்கு ஏராளமான அதிகாரிகள் செல்வர். இந்த பயணத்திற்காக பல மாதங்களுக்கு முன்னரே பயணச்சீட்டுகள் பதிவு செய்யப்படும்.

இந்த வழித்தடத்தில் தரமான விமானங்களை இயக்கினால் இந்தியன் ஏர்லைன்ஸின் லாபம் அதிகரிக்கும். ஆனால், மிகவும் சிறிய, பழைய விமானங்களே இந்த வழித்தடத்தில் இயக்கப்படுகின்றன. இவை, டிசம்பர்- ஜனவரி மாதங்களில் அடிக்கும் பலமான சூறைக்காற்று காரணமாக அடிக்கடி ரத்து செய்யப்படும். இதனால், ஏர் இந்தியாவின் மீது பயணிகள் நம்பிக்கை இழக்கின்றனர்.

நஷ்டத்தை ஈடு செய்யும் வகையில், 2015-ஆம் ஆண்டில் ஏர் இந்தியா தனது அலுவலகக் கட்டடத்தை அதிக வாடகைக்கு விட திட்டமிட்டது. மும்பையின் மத்திய பகுதியான, நரிமண் பாயிண்ட்' எனும் இடத்திலிருந்த பல அடுக்குமாடிக் கட்டடத்தின் வாடகை ஒரு சதுர அடிக்கு ரூபாய் 300 என அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது.

ஒவ்வொரு தளத்தின் வாடகையும் பல கோடி என கணக்கிடப்பட்டது. நிறைய பேர் அதிக வாடகை கொடுத்து அந்த கட்டடத்தில் அலுவலகங்கள் அமைக்க முன்வந்தனர். ஆனால், அந்த நடவடிக்கைகளை உடனே செய்யாமல் காலம் தாழ்த்தியதால் பல கோடி ரூபாய் நஷ்டம் ஏற்பட்டது.

ஊழியர்களும் அதிகாரிகளும் பணிக்கு வராததால் விமானம் ரத்து செய்யப்பட்டு, பயணிகள் மாற்று விமானங்களில் அனுப்பப்படுவது வழக்கமானது. ஒரு விமானத்திற்கு சராசரியாக 234 பணியாளர்கள் என்ற விகிதத்தில் இயங்குகிறது ஏர் இந்தியா. ஆனால், மற்ற தனியார் விமான நிறுவனங்களில் ஒரு விமானத்திற்கு சராசரியாக 121 பணியாளர்கள்தான் உள்ளனர். ஏர் இந்தியாவின் பணியாளர்களை குறைக்க முடியாது என்பதாலும், அந்த அதிகாரிகளின் நடவடிக்கைகளை கட்டுப்படுத்த முடியாது என்ற நிலைமையில், அந்த நிறுவனத்தின் நஷ்டத்தை சரிசெய்து லாபம் ஈட்ட முடியாது என்பதால், அந்த நிறுவனத்தை விலைக்கு வாங்க எவரும் முன்வரவில்லை.

அரசினால் தொடங்கப்பட்டு, பின் சரியாக நடத்த முடியாத நிலையில் தனியார் வசம் ஒப்படைக்கப்பட்டு, மிகச்சிறந்த விமான நிறுவனங்களாக இயங்கும் இங்கிலாந்தின் பிரிட்டிஷ் ஏர்வேஸ்', ஜெர்மனியின் லூஃப்தான்சா', இத்தாலியின் அலிடாலியா' போன்றவை நமது கவனத்தை ஈர்க்கின்றன. நமது நாட்டின் வாக்கு வங்கி அரசியலால் ஏர் இந்தியாவை தனியாருக்கு விற்க முடியவில்லை.

இந்த நிலையில், மிக அதிக தொகை இழப்பீடாகக் கொடுத்து ஊழியர்களையும், அதிகாரிகளையும் பணிவிலகச் செய்து, எல்லா விமானங்களையும், பழைய விமான விலைக்கே விற்பனை செய்துவிட்டு, எல்லா கட்டட சொத்துகளையும் விற்றுவிட்டு, ஏர் இந்தியா' நிறுவனத்தை மூடிவிடுவதே புத்திசாலித்தனமான செயலாக இருக்கும். கட்டுரையாளர்:

இன்று நாட்டில் நடக்கும் பெரும்பாலான ஊழல்களிலும், முறைகேடுகளிலும் மெத்தப் படித்த கல்விமான்களின் பங்கு அதிகரித்து வருவது சாமானிய மக்களுக்கு அதிர்ச்சி அளிப்பதோடு மட்டுமல்லாது அவமானமாகவும் இருக்கிறது.

ஆட்சியில் ஊழல், நிர்வாகத்தில் ஊழல் என்றிருந்த நிலை மாறி, தற்போது கடவுளைக் கண்டு வழிபடும் கோயில்களில் ஊழல், கல்லாமையை நீக்கும் கல்விக் கூடங்களில் ஊழல் என, நாட்டு மக்கள் வெட்கித் தலைகுனியும் அளவுக்கு எல்லாத் துறைகளிலும் ஊழல் ஊடுருவியிருப்பதாக செய்திகள் வெளிவரத் தொடங்கியுள்ளன.

இந்த ஊழல்கள் எல்லாவற்றிலும் முதன்மையாக அரசியல் கட்சிகளின் தலைவர்கள் குற்றம் சாட்டப்பட்டாலும், அவர்களுடன் ஒரு சில அதிகாரிகளின் பெயர்களும் அடிபட்டதுண்டு. எனினும், பெரும்பாலான அதிகாரிகள் நேர்மையாகவும், அரசின் சட்ட திட்டங்களை முறையாக கடைப்பிடிக்க வேண்டுமென ஆட்சியாளர்களுக்கு அறிவுரை கூறுபவர்களாகவும் இருந்தனர். சில அதிகாரிகள், ஆட்சியாளர்களுடன் கருத்து வேறுபாடு ஏற்பட்டால் தாமாகவே அவர்களிடமிருந்து விலகிக் கொண்டதுமுண்டு.

புதுடில்லி: உ.பி., மாநிலம், நொய்டாவை சேர்ந்த டாக்டர் தம்பதி, ராஜேஷ், நுபுர் தல்வார். 2008ல், தங்கள், 14 வயது மகள், ஆருஷியும், வீட்டு வேலைக்காரர் ஹேமராஜும், ரகசிய உறவு வைத்திருந்ததாக, ராஜேஷ், நுபுர் தல்வார் சந்தேகப்பட்டதாக கூறப்படுகிறது.இந்நிலையில், 2008, மே மாதம், தன் வீட்டு அறையில், ஆருஷி கழுத்து அறுக்கப்பட்ட நிலையில் பிணமாக கிடந்தார்;
அந்த வீட்டு மொட்டை மாடியில், ஹேம்ராஜ் இறந்து கிடந்தார்.இந்த வழக்கை, உ.பி., போலீசார் முறையாக விசாரிக்கவில்லை என்ற புகார் எழுந்ததால், சி.பி.ஐ.,யிடம் ஒப்படைக்கப்பட்டது.இந்த வழக்கை விசாரித்த, சி.பி.ஐ., சிறப்பு நீதிமன்றம், 2013ல், ராஜேஷ் மற்றும் நுபுருக்கு, ஆயுள் தண்டனை விதித்து தீர்ப்பளித்தது.

‘நீட்’ தேர்வு அடுத்த ஆண்டு முதல் ஒருமுறைக்கு பதிலாக 2 முறை நடத்தப்படும் என கடந்த மாதம் மத்திய அரசு அறிவித்தது.

பிப்ரவரி மற்றும் மே மாதங்களில் இந்த தேர்வு நடத்தப்படும் எனக்கூறிய மனிதவள மேம்பாட்டுத்துறை மந்திரி பிரகாஷ் ஜவடேகர், இந்த தேர்வுடன் என்ஜினீயரிங் படிப்புக்கான நுழைவுத்தேர்வும் நடத்தப்படும் என்றும் கூறினார். இந்த தேர்வுகள் முற்றிலும் ஆன்லைன் மூலம் நடத்தப்படும் எனவும், புதிதாக அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ள தேசிய திறனாய்வு நிறுவனம், இந்த தேர்வுகளை நடத்தும் எனவும் அவர் தெரிவித்து இருந்தார்.

இந்த இருமுறை வாய்ப்பு மாணவர்கள் மற்றும் பெற்றோர் மத்தியில் வரவேற்பை பெற்றிருந்த நிலையில், இந்த நடவடிக்கைக்கு சுகாதார அமைச்சகம் அதிருப்தி தெரிவித்து உள்ளது. நீட் தேர்வை இருமுறை நடத்துவதால், இந்த தேர்வு கால அட்டவணை மாணவர்களுக்கு கூடுதல் அழுத்தத்தை கொடுக்கும் என மனிதவள மேம்பாட்டுத்துறைக்கு கடிதம் எழுதியுள்ளது.

மேலும் ஆன்லைனில் தேர்வு நடத்துவதால், கிராமப்புற மாணவர்கள் பாதிக்கப்படுவர் எனவும் சுகாதார அமைச்சகம் தனது கடிதத்தில் கவலை வெளியிட்டு இருந்தது.

இதைத்தொடர்ந்து ‘நீட்’ தேர்வை ஆண்டுக்கு இருமுறை என்பதற்கு பதிலாக ஒருமுறையே நடத்துவது குறித்து மனிதவள மேம்பாட்டுத்துறை அமைச்சகம் பரிசீலனை செய்ய முடிவு செய்திருப்பதாக தெரிகிறது. எனினும் இதில் இறுதி முடிவு எடுக்கப்படவில்லை என அமைச்சக வட்டாரங்கள் தெரிவித்தன.

சென்னை மெட்ரோ ரெயில் நிறுவனம் வெளியிட்டுள்ள செய்திக்குறிப்பில் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளதாவது:– மெட்ரோ ரெயில் சேவையை பயன்படுத்தும் பயணிகளுக்கான போக்குவரத்து இணைப்பை மேலும் எளிமையாக்கும் வகையில் ஷேர்–ஆட்டோ மற்றும் டாக்சி சேவை 11–ந்தேதி (இன்று) முதல் தொடங்கப்பட உள்ளது. தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்ட சில மெட்ரோ ரெயில் நிலையங்களில் இருந்து இந்த சேவைகள் 6 மாத காலத்துக்கு சோதனை முறையில் அமல்படுத்தப்பட உள்ளது.

அதன்படி, அசோக்நகர், ஆலந்தூர், ஈக்காட்டுத்தாங்கல், கிண்டி, கோயம்பேடு, பரங்கிமலை, சின்னமலை, நந்தனம், திருமங்கலம் மற்றும் அண்ணாநகர் டவர் ஆகிய மெட்ரோ ரெயில் நிலையங்கள் ஷேர்–ஆட்டோ சேவைகள் இயக்குவதற்கு அடையாளம் காணப்பட்டுள்ளது.

இதேபோல கோயம்பேடு, ஆலந்தூர், அண்ணாநகர் கிழக்கு, ஏஜி–டி.எம்.எஸ். மற்றும் வடபழனி ஆகிய 5 மெட்ரோ ரெயில் நிலையங்களில் இருந்து டாக்சி சேவை இயக்கப்பட உள்ளது. மெட்ரோ ரெயில் நிலையங்களில் இருந்து, ஷேர்–ஆட்டோ மற்றும் டாக்சி சேவை 3 கி.மீ. தூரத்திலான சுற்றுவட்டார பகுதிகளுக்கு காலை 6.30 மணி முதல் இரவு 9.30 மணி வரையிலும் இயக்கப்படும்.

ஷேர்–ஆட்டோவில் பயணம் செய்ய கட்டணமாக ரூ.10–ம், டாக்சி சேவைக்கு ரூ.15–ம் கட்டணமாக வசூலிக்கப்படும்.

கோயம்பேடு மெட்ரோ ரெயில் நிலையத்தில் இருந்து வி.ஆர்.மால், பாடி மேம்பாலம், சரவணா ஸ்டோர்ஸ், திருமங்கலம் வரையிலும், ஆலந்தூர் மெட்ரோ ரெயில் நிலையத்தில் இருந்து தாமரை ஐ.டி.பார்க், ‘சிபெட்’ தலைமை அலுவலகம், கிண்டி பஸ் நிறுத்தம் வரையிலும், அண்ணாநகர் கிழக்கு மெட்ரோ ரெயில் நிலையத்தில் இருந்து 3 கி.மீ. சுற்றளவிலான பகுதிக்கும் டாக்சி சேவை இயக்கப்படும்.

இதேபோல ஏஜி–டி.எம்.எஸ். மெட்ரோ ரெயில் நிலையத்தில் இருந்து ஆழ்வார்பேட்டை, போஸ்ச் அலுவலகம், செம்மொழி பூங்கா வரையிலும், வடபழனி மெட்ரோ ரெயில் நிலையத்தில் இருந்து சிம்ஸ் ஆஸ்பத்திரி, முருகன் கோவில், மேனகா கார்ட்ஸ் வரையிலும் இயக்கப்படும்.

அசோக்நகர் மெட்ரோ ரெயில் நிலையத்தில் இருந்து மத்திய பொதுப்பணித்துறை அதிகாரிகள் குடியிருப்பு, செக்டர்–9, 10, ஆர்.டி.ஓ. மைதானம், செக்டர்–12, அண்ணாநகர் சாலை வரையிலும், ஆலந்தூர் மெட்ரோ ரெயில் நிலையத்தில் இருந்து பட் சாலை, சென்னை வர்த்தக மையம், மியாட் ஆஸ்பத்திரி, செயின்ட் பாட்ரிக்ஸ் தேவாலயம் வரையிலும், ஈக்காட்டுத்தாங்கல் மெட்ரோ ரெயில் நிலையத்தில் இருந்து கிண்டி தொழிற்பேட்டை, கிண்டி பஸ் நிலையம், திரு.வி.க.நகர் தொழிற்பேட்டை வரையிலும் ஷேர்–ஆட்டோ சேவை இயக்கப்படும்.

கிண்டி மெட்ரோ ரெயில் நிலையத்தில் இருந்து ரேஸ்கோர்ஸ், பீனிக்ஸ் மார்க்கெட் சிட்டி, விஜயநகர் சந்திப்பு, வேளச்சேரி வரையிலும், கோயம்பேடு மெட்ரோ ரெயில் நிலையத்தில் இருந்து பாடிகுப்பம், முகப்பேர் தொழிற்பேட்டை, ஜே.ஜே.நகர், முகப்பேர் மேற்கு, எம்.ஜி.ஆர். கல்லூரி, டேனியல் தாமஸ் பள்ளி வரையிலும், பரங்கிமலையில் இருந்து மேடவாக்கம் மெயின்ரோடு, ஐ.ஆர்.ஆர். வரையிலும், திருமங்கலம் மெட்ரோ ரெயில் நிலையத்தில் இருந்து 3 கி.மீ. சுற்றளவிலான தூரத்துக்கும் ஷேர்–ஆட்டோ சேவை இயக்கப்படும். இவ்வாறு அதில் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது.
