Dental student, 20,ends life

NAMAKKAL: A fourth year student of a dental college committed suicide by hanging near Tiruchengode in Namakkal district on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as S Dharini, 20, of Rameswaram in Ramanathapuram district. She was studying BDS in Vivekanandha Dental College for Women in Tiruchengode.
According to the Tiruchengode rural police, Dharini didn’t go to the college and stayed in her room in the hostel.
When her roommates returned on Monday evening, they found the main door of the room closed from inside. There was no response when they knocked the door for few minutes.
When they peeped through the door gap, they found Dharini hanging from the ceiling.
They immediately alerted their college management who in turn alerted the Tiruchengode rural police. Police broke opened the door and retrieved the body.
Police also seized a suicide note from the girl’s room. In the note, Dharini had mentioned that she joined BDS due to her parents’ compulsion.
