இன்றைய நாகரிக உலகில் சிறுவர்கள், இளைஞர்கள், நடுத்தர வயதினர் என பெரும்பாலானோர் தங்கள் காதுகளில் ஒரு ஒலிக் கருவியை நுழைத்துக் கொண்டு திரிவதைப் பார்க்க முடிகிறது.

பள்ளி, கல்லூரி மாணவர்கள், வேலைக்குச் செல்லும் இளைஞர்கள், தொழிலாளர்கள் என எந்தப் பாகுபாடும் இல்லாமல் இந்தக் கருவியை காதில் நுழைத்துக் கொண்டு தனி உலகில் சஞ்சரித்து வருகின்றனர்.

இவர்களில் பலர் ஓய்வு நேரங்களில் மட்டுமல்லாது, தங்களின் வேலைகளின் ஊடேயும் இதை பயன்படுத்தும் போக்கு பெருகி வருகிறது.

இரு சக்கர வாகனங்களை ஓட்டும்போது, கார் ஓட்டும்போது, படிக்கும் போது, கணினியில் பணிபுரியும் போது, படுக்கையில் படுத்திருக்கும் போது என இதற்கு எந்த விதிவிலக்கும் இல்லை.

வேலையின் சுமை தெரியாது, கூடுதலாக பணி செய்யலாம் போன்றவை இதற்காகக் கூறப்படும் காரணங்கள்.

இந்த ஒலிக்கருவிகளை பயன்படுத்துவதால் ஒலி மாசு ஏற்படுவதில்லை, அடுத்தவர்களை தொந்தரவு செய்வதில்லை என்பதும் இவர்களின் வாதம்.

ஆனால், இரு சக்கர வாகனம் ஓட்டுபவர்கள் இந்தக் கருவியை பயன்படுத்தும் போது, அவர்களுக்கு பின்னால் வரும் வாகனங்களின் ஹாரன் சப்தத்தை கேட்க முடிவதில்லை.

அவர்களை முந்திச் செல்லும் வாகனங்களின் குறுக்கே சென்று ஆபத்தை தேடிக்கொள்கின்றனர்.

அதேபோல, காதில் ஒலித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கும் பாடலில் முழுவதுமாக லயித்துப் போயிருப்பவர்களுக்கு நகரச் சாலைகளில் சிக்னல் விழுவது, எதிரே வரும் வாகனங்களின் வேகம், திரும்பும் திசைகளை கணிப்பது போன்றவற்றில் ஏற்படும் கவனக் குறைவுகளாலும் விபத்தில் சிக்குகின்றனர்.

மனைவியின் சேலை சக்கரத்தில் சுற்றிக்கொள்ள, அவர் எழுப்பும் அபாய குரல் கேட்காமல் சென்றோரும் உண்டு.

முன்பெல்லாம் பேருந்தில் மணிக்கணக்கில் பயணம் செய்ய நேர்ந்தால் வழித்துணையாக வருபவை புத்தகங்களே. அவை நாவலாகவோ, வார, நாளிதழ்களாகவோ இருக்கும்.

சிறிது நேரம் தூங்கியது போக, பெரும்பாலான நேரங்கள் புத்தகங்கள் படிப்பதே வழக்கம்.

இதனால் பொது அறிவு வளர்ந்ததோடு வாசிப்பு பழக்கமும் வளர்ந்தது. ஆனால், தற்போது பயணம் செய்பவர்களின் கைகளில் புத்தகங்களை பார்க்க முடிவதில்லை.

அதற்கு பதிலாக செல்லிடப்பேசி, மடிக்கணினி போன்றவற்றில் விளையாடுவதும், திரைப்படம் பார்ப்பதும்தான் அதிகமாக நடைபெறுகின்றன. இதில் ஒலிக் கருவியை காதில் பொருத்தி பாடலை ஒலிக்கவிட்டு தூங்கிவிடுபவர்கள்தான் அதிகம்.

அதேபோல, பணியின் போது இந்த கருவியை காதில் நுழைத்துக் கொண்டு பாட்டு கேட்டுத்தான் ஆக வேண்டுமா? இதனால், நிச்சயமாக பணியில் தவறு ஏற்பட வாய்ப்பு உள்ளது.

கட்டடத் தொழிலாளர்கள், இயந்திரங்களில் பணிபுரிவோரும் சில சமயங்களில் இந்தக் கருவியை பொருத்திக் கொண்டு பாட்டுக் கேட்பதை பார்க்க முடிகிறது.

ஒரு நிறுவனத்தின் கீழ் பணியாற்றுபவர்களுக்குக் கட்டுப்பாடுகள் இருந்தாலும், சொந்தத் தொழில் செய்வோரை யார் கட்டுப்படுத்துவது?

பகலில் மட்டுமல்லாது, இரவில் தூங்கும்போதும்கூட இந்த ஒலிக் கருவியை காதில் பொருத்தி பாடலை ஒலிக்கவிட்டு தூங்குபவர்கள் அனேகம். இது பாதுகாப்புக்கு உகந்ததல்ல.

இன்று, மனிதர்கள் வீட்டில் இருக்கும்போதே கதவை உடைத்து அவர்களை மிரட்டி கொள்ளையடித்துச் செல்வது சாதாரணமாகிவிட்டது.

இந்த நிலையில், காதுக்குள் ஒலிக்கும் கருவியோடு தூங்கினால், உடன் தூங்கும் மனைவி, பிள்ளைகள், உறவினர்களுக்கு ஏற்படும் ஆபத்தை நம்மால் உடனடியாக அறிய முடியாது.

காதுக்குள் ஒலிக்கும் கருவியால், நாளடைவில் காது கேட்கும் சக்தியை இழந்துவிட வாய்ப்பு உள்ளதாக மருத்துவர்கள் எச்சரிக்கின்றனர்.

நம்முடைய காது இயற்கை நமக்கு அளித்த கொடை. அவை நம்மைச் சுற்றி நடைபெறும் தகவல்களை நம்முடைய அறிவுக்கு எடுத்துச் செல்பவை.

அங்கு அவை நல்லவை, கெட்டவை என பகுக்கப்பட்டு நம்மை வழிநடத்த உதவுபவை. காற்றின் கீதத்தையும், நதியின் சலசலப்பையும், மழலையின் கொஞ்சலையும் கேட்கத்தான் இந்தக் காதுகள் படைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கின்றன.

சமுதாயத்தில் நம்மைச் சுற்றி எழும் இந்த ஒலிகள் நம் காதுகளை ஒருபோதும் பாதிப்பதில்லை. அவை நம் இதயத்தை பாதிப்பவை.

இதயம் உள்ள ஒவ்வொருவரும் இந்த ஒலிகளை அவசியம் காதுகொடுத்து கேட்க வேண்டும்.

செயற்கையான கருவிகளால் காதுகளைப் பொத்திக்கொண்டு திரிந்தால், ஒலி தெரியாத, மொழி தெரியாத மனிதர்களாகத்தான் நாம் கருதப்படுவோம்.

Soon you will be able to get the registration certificate (RC) of your car or any other vehicle within minutes and there will be no scope for anyone to enter wrong data and details, including the chassis or engine number. The transport ministry has come up with an IT-based mechanism which enables tracking and recording of all details including the model, colour and chassis number etc right from the manufacturing level.Sources said this system, which will be launched soon, will ensure that no wrong data is recorded against any vehicle and there will be no scope for any dealer to shortchange the buyer besides leaving no room for malpractices. The customer is also assured that all details entered about parts of the vehicle are genuine and nothing has been tweaked at any level.

“As soon as the manufac turer submits a model for type approval, one set of details will be entered. Subsequently, the approved test agencies will enter details at their level while clearing the models. Thereafter, the manufacturer will have to enter all necessary details such as chassis and engine number. When it reaches the dealer’s place, he has to fill a few specific records before processing an RC,” said a transport ministry official. He added at present, the dealer has to key in all details at the end before an RC is issued. “Now they don’t need to do this as data will be entered at each level,” the official said.

While in big cities the registration certificates of cars and bikes are issued at dealers point, RCs of heavy vehicles are issued by motor vehicle inspectors at RTOs. Usually registration of such vehicles takes hours, but the new system will significantly reduce the time taken.

`Burning' baby may be a victim of abuse, say docs

The curious case of the `burning baby' is slowly losing its mystery and turning into a case of suspected child abuse. The 10-day-old boy , born to a Villupuram-based couple, was brought to Kilpauk Medical College Hospital with 5% burn injuries on his feet and thigh after he allegedly caught fire on his own. Curiously enough, his elder brother was also treated in the hospital two years ago with claims of `spontaneous human combustion,' a theory many medical experts believe is bogus.

The hospital has formed a committee to figure out what is causing the newborn to “go up in flames,“ as his parents claim. Doctors who treated his brother Rahul said the children could have been physically abused, probably as part of a superstition. They say it's time police took a closer look at the case.

Dr Jagan Mohan, who treated Rahul at KMCH last year, said, “There is no such thing as spontaneous human combustion. When Rahul was admitted to the hospital last year we clearly told the parents that it looked like someone was deliberately setting the infant on fire.“

A doctor at KMCH, who is treating the baby , said the case looked suspicious as the boy had shown no sign of “spontaneously combusting“ since he was brought to the hospital on Saturday . “We are unable to ascertain what caused the burns, because once a flammable substance like alcohol, kerosene or petrol is used to set fire to someone and later cleaned up, it wouldn't show,“ said the doctor. He also said forensic experts should visit the child's home to check if there was any evidence of flammable substances on the bed or on the child's clothes.

Dr Jagan Mohan said Rahul's case could not be solved as the alleged incidents of combustion happened only when the infant was left alone.“We counselled the mother and asked her to keep an eye on the baby at all times. Since the last visit to the hospital their older son has been fine and has not suffered any burns since then,“ he said. “It looks like whoever was abusing the elder child is back at work again.“

KMCH Dean Dr Gunasekaran, who is heading the committee, said that apart from sending samples of blood, sweat and urine for analysis, the doctors have conducted a detailed investigation on the baby and found nothing abnormal in his physiological composition. “There is nothing to prove the theory of spontaneous combustion,“ he said.

Child rights group demands probe

Chennai: The Legal Resource Center for Child Rights (LRCCR) has demanded a probe into the case of the baby from Tindivanam who reportedly caught fire spontaneously. Child rights activist Shanmuga Velayutham said it was a clear case of abuse and the family of the infant may be doing it to get sympathy and benefits from the government. “When the couple Rajeshwari and Karna complained that their first child was suffering from this rare condition, the government had given the family a house under the solar powered green house scheme and also offered financial assistance. This is their latest ruse,“ he said. Velayutham further said that the national commission for protection of child rights should look into the case of the infant and ensure that the culprits are brought to book. “Doctors at the government hospital in Villupuram and in Kilpauk Medical College Hospital have performed several tests on the baby to find out what is causing the fire. So far all the test results are normal pointing to an external factor at play,“ he said. TNN

இதற்கு ஐ.சி.ஐ.சி.ஐ. வங்கியின் வாடிக்கையாளர்கள் வங்கியின் டுவிட்டர் பக்கத்திற்கு சென்று இந்த புதிய வசதியை பதிவு செய்து அதில் சந்தாதாரராக இணைய வேண்டும்.

குறிப்பாக, பண்டு டிரான்ஸ்பர் செய்ய பணத்தை அனுப்பும் வாடிக்கையாளர் யாருக்கு அனுப்புகிறாரோ அவரின் டுவிட்டர் முகவரியை தெரிந்து வைத்திருக்க வேண்டும். பணத்தை அவரது டுவிட்டர் முகவரிக்கு டிரான்ஸ்பர் செய்தவுடன் யூனிக் கோடுடன் (பிரத்யேக அடையாள குறியீடு) எஸ்.எம்.எஸ். வரும். அந்த அடையாள எண்ணை பணத்தை பெறுபவர் அதற்கென வடிவமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ள ஸ்பெஷல் வெப் பேஜில் டைப் செய்ய வேண்டும். பிறகு அந்த திரை டிரான்ஸாக்சனை முழுமையாக பூர்த்தி செய்ய வழிகாட்டும்.

டுவிட்டர் மூலமாக பணத்தை அனுப்புவது பாதுகாப்பாக இருக்குமா? என்ற சந்தேகத்திற்கும் விடை வைத்திருக்கிறது ஐ.சி.ஐ.சி.ஐ. வங்கி. இரண்டு முறை பாதுகாப்பை உறுதி செய்யும் Two-factor authentication வெப்பேஜில் உள்ளதால் பயப்பட தேவையில்லை என்பதே அந்த விடை.

டுவிட்டரில் பணம் அனுப்புவதற்கு வங்கியிலிருந்து எந்த கட்டணமும் வசூலிக்கப்படுவதில்லை. ஆனால், NEFT மற்றும் RTGS பரிவர்த்தனை விதிமுறைகளின் படி அதற்கேற்ற கட்டணத்தை செலுத்துவது கட்டாயமாகும். ஐ.சி.ஐ.சி.ஐ தவிர மற்ற வங்கிகளில் கணக்கு வைத்திருப்போர் டுவிட்டர் வழியாக பணத்தை பெற அவர்கள் கணக்கு வைத்திருக்கும் வங்கியின் IFSC கோடை பதிவு செய்ய வேண்டும்.

இந்த தகவலை ஐ.சி.ஐ.சி.ஐ. வங்கியின் எக்ஸிகியூடிவ் டைரக்டர் ராஜிவ் சபர்வால் தெரிவித்தார்.

பொதுத்துறை வங்கி ஊழியர்கள் வேலைநிறுத்தம் தள்ளிவைப்பு

ஊதிய உயர்வு, வாரத்துக்கு 5 நாட்கள் மட்டும் வேலை, நிர்ணயிக்கப்பட்ட வேலை நேரம், மருத்துவ உதவி திட்டத்தை மேம்படுத்துவது உள்ளிட்ட பல்வேறு கோரிக்கைகளை வலியுறுத்தி வங்கி ஊழியர் தொழிற்சங்கங்களின் கூட்டமைப்பு பல்வேறு போராட்டங்களை நடத்தியது. இந்திய வங்கிகள் சங்கத்துடன் தொடர்ந்து பேச்சுவார்த்தையும் நடத்தியது.

பேச்சுவார்த்தையில் சற்று முன்னேற்றம் ஏற்பட்டதைத் தொடர்ந்து, கடந்த 7-ம் தேதி நடத்தப்படவிருந்த ஒருநாள் வேலை நிறுத்தம் ஒத்திவைக்கப்பட்டது.

இதன் தொடர்ச்சியாக, ஊதிய உயர்வு கோரிக்கைகள் மீது மத்திய அரசு தொடர்ந்து கெடுபிடி காட்டிவருவதால் வரும் ஜனவரி 21 முதல் 24-ம் தேதி வரை வேலை நிறுத்தத்தில் ஈடுபட இருப்பதாக வங்கி ஊழியர்கள் தொழிற்சங்கம் அறிவித்தது.

இதனால், ஜனவரி 21 முதல் 24 மற்றும் 25-ம் தேதி ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை விடுமுறை, 26-ம் தேதி குடியரசு தினம் என்பதால் 6 நாட்கள் தொடர்ந்து வங்கி சேவை முடங்கும் நிலை ஏற்பட்டது.

இந்த நிலையில், இந்திய வங்கிகள் அளித்த உறுதிமொழிகள் ஏற்கப்பட்டதால், இந்த வேலைநிறுத்தப் போராட்டம் தற்காலிகமாக தள்ளிவைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதாக, பொதுத்துறை வங்கி ஊழியர்கள் தொழிற்சங்கம் திங்கள்கிழமை இரவு அறிவித்தது.

அதேவேளையில், "பிப்ரவரி முதல் வாரத்தில் தீர்வு காணப்படும் என்று உறுதி அளிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. சுமுகத் தீர்வு ஏற்படாவிட்டால் பிப்ரவரி 15-க்கு பிறகு காலவரையற்ற வேலைநிறுத்தம் நடத்துவோம்" என்று வங்கி ஊழியர்கள் தரப்பு எச்சரித்துள்ளது.
