Hyd co to start human trials for vaccine

Hyderabad-based vaccine major Bharat Biotech on Monday announced that the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) has approved phase 1 and 2 of human clinical trials of its Covid-19 vaccine candidate Covaxin.
The company has been working on the vaccine in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the National Institute of Virology, Pune, as reported by TOI earlier. The DCGI nod for human trials came after the company submitted results of preclinical studies, demonstrating safety and immune response. Human trials will start in July, a company statement said. TNN
