State varsity student tests +ve for Omicron in Hyd

A University of Mysore student who arrived from Tanzania to Hyderabad has tested positive for Omicron. She is asymptomatic and isolated in an institutional facility.
Her swab samples were collected at Hyderabad international airport upon her arrival in India. The test results were sent to the district authorities on Tuesday. “She is asymptomatic,” said DHO Dr KH Prasad.
According to the authorities, on Tuesday also her swab samples were collected for the second RT-PCR test.
Meanwhile, the authorities informed that a nine-year-old girl, the first Omicron patient from the city, has recovered. TNN
