Prayagraj : The Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Board is all set to issue marksheets to Class 10 and 12 students featuring advanced security features. The new marksheets will be provided to students appearing in the 2025 board exams, scheduled to begin on Feb 24. The UP Board is likely to become the first educational board in the country to introduce tamperproof marksheets made from durable paper that resists soiling and damage over time.

“Faced with numerous applications from students and parents requesting duplicate marksheets due to damage to the original, we decided to introduce marksheets that are exceptionally strong. They cannot be torn by bare hands, and their authenticity can easily be verified,” said Bhagwati Singh, secretary of the UP Board. The new marksheets will remain intact even if submerged in water. They are tamper-proof, ensuring no one can erase or modify the printed information.

Additionally, the marksheets will be accessible on Digilocker as well, Singh added. Over 54 lakh candidates are expected to benefit from this initiative in the 2025 exams. The updated marksheet-cum-certificate will be A4-sized, compared to the smaller size used previously. The marksheets will also feature the Board’s monogram, which will appear red in sunlight and change color in the shade. “Several security features have been incorporated into the marksheet. Some can only be seen under ultraviolet light. The marksheets will also include watermarks and cannot be scratched or overwritten,” Singh explained.

Another notable feature is that photocopies of the marksheet will prominently display the word ‘copy,’ even though the original document will not show this to the naked eye
