VIT honours coronavirus warriors on Republic Day

Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) on Tuesday honoured Covid-19 warriors, including doctors, nurses and paramedical staff for their selfless service during the pandemic period at a Republic Day function held at the institute’s Vellore campus.
Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) vice-president GV Selvam hoisted the national flag and honoured 75 people, including Covid warriors and security personnel from VIT who had helped the police department during the Covid-19 lockdown.
He also awarded N Vinayagam, deputy superintendent of police, armed reserve, Vellore district and Dr D Baskaran for protecting the people. While Vinayagam facilitated distribution of Kabasura Kudineer to armed reserve police, Baskaran came up with an herbal face mask.
VIT VC Dr Rambabu Kodali, registrar K Sathiyanarayanan, director (students welfare) Dr Amit B Mahindrakar, faculty and staff also took part in the function.
