‘Urge elders to comply with lockdown rules to protect children’

Emphasising that more than 90% of the children tested positive for Covid-19 in the state were contracted the virus from their family members and relatives, former union health minister and PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss requested the public to adhere to lockdown to protect children from the virus. Citing the state health department’s bulletin, he said 104 children, aged below 12 years, were among the 1,821persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the state so far. Of these, six children, aged between 2 and 9 years, have tested positive for the virus on Saturday alone.

“It was confirmed that more than 90% of the children contracted the virus from their family members and relatives. It was due to the carelessness of the elders in their families,” he said.
