Do not cut salaries: EPFO

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation has appealed to employers not to cut salaries of their staff in the wake of the nationwide lockdown clamped following COVID-19 threat.

An official statement said the employers are requested not to cut the salaries of their employees who are unable to work following sickness or social distancing. The employers’ humanitarian gesture will support the workers morally to overcome this hard time. Hence, the employers are requested not to resort to lay-offs or salary cuts during this difficult phase, the statement said.
