Governor Banwarilal Purohit congratulated vice-chancellor of Anna University, principals of Presidency College and Loyola College for securing top ranks in NIRF 2019, which was released on Monday.
"The achievement of Anna University, which has secured seventh position in university category and ninth position in engineering institution category, is indeed remarkable and praiseworthy," he said.
In the college category, Presidency College secured the third position, while Loyola secured the sixth which makes them among the top notch institutions for higher education, he added.
Fourth TN tourism awards: Tamil Nadu Tourims Award 2019 will be organized at Hotel Ambassador Pallava in Egmore on April 11. The award for multiple categories — including best hotel, best restaurants, best tour operator, etc., — is aimed at recognizing and motivating stakeholders of TN and Puducherry tourism industry.
Polling booth facilities for PwD reviewed: Greater Chennai Corporation commissioner and district election officer G Prakash on Tuesday reviewed the special arrangements and facilities to be provided for people with disabilities at the polling booths.
