Kota institute to give free NEET coaching to 200 city students

More than 400 students from 12 government and government aided schools in Tamil Nadu including six in Chennai will receive free online coaching for NEET from EtoosIndia, an institute based in Kota, Rajasthan.
In Chennai, 200 Englishmedium students frm Government Higher Secondary School, MGR Nagar, Lady Sivasami Ayyar Girls Higher Secondary School, Mylapore (government aided), Dr Ambedkar Government Higher Secondary School, Egmore, Dr KK Nirmala Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Ashok Nagar, Government Higher Secondary School, GKM Colony, and St Joseph’s Girls Higher Secondary School, Choolai (government aided) will get the coaching, an official said.
Students of four schools in Coimbatore and two in Erode will also be provided user ID and password, giving them access to video lectures and study material. “They can access study material and lectures given by star trainers,” said Ashish Singh, general manager (business), Etoos Education Private limited. There will be no personal coaching.
“We will conduct periodical tests. Question papers will be sent directly to schools and after evaluation we will give national level ranking for students,” he said. NEET 2020 is scheduled for May 3.
Separately, based on a screening test on August 7, the school education department shortlisted 13,000 students for NEET and JEE coaching which will begin soon. “They will be trained by government school teachers. The department has also instructed officials to conduct weekly tests for the students,” the official added.
Of 19,355 students trained at government sponsored centres last year, only one student got the MBBS seat this year.
