Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami launched a dedicated education channel for school students that will be aired on channel number 200 on Arasu Cable. It “will telecast only education-related programmes,” Mr. Palaniswami said.
“Kalvi TV will compete with private channels that operate for profit, and high quality programmes are being produced. Programmes for students from LKG to 12th standard will be covered and programmes to help students prepare for competitive exams, will feature interviews with teachers who teach using new methodologies, education-related news. It will be telecast round the clock,” Mr. Palaniswami said.
The channel will offer exclusive coaching for NEET, IIT, JEE professional course entrance examinations.
The one-hour programme will be aired between 9 pm and 10 pm and repeated between 5 am and 6 am the next day.
Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam exhorted students to make use of the channel and enhance their knowledge.
He said parents should provide support to their children in this effort.
School Education Minister K.A. Sengottaiyan said it was the first exclusive channel for education.
