Chennai: In wake of the rising number of monsoon-related diseases in the city, ‘Gleneagles Global Health City hospital’ has launched a 24-hour fever clinic in Chennai to help people combat the outburst of monsoon fevers like Malaria, Dengue, Typhoid, Cholera, Hepatitis (A virus) among others. The clinic will remain functional round the clock, said doctors. The hospital has also announced that the clinic will have a dedicated fever OP department, inpatient wards, and labs equipped with rapid diagnostic testing tools.

Speaking about the fever clinic, Dr Subramanian Swaminathan, senior consultant, infectious diseases, Gleneagles Global Health City, said, “We have been observing a trend that many patients coming in with fever are not diagnosed on time, which leads to several complications, and particularly, during monsoon period, fever cases are rising steadily every year. Early diagnosis is the key to avoid complications due to fever.”
