Chennai: Woman dies mid-air due to cardiac arrest

On landing, she was motionless in her seat.

After a check, the team said the woman had died due to cardiac arrest.

Chennai: A 43-year-old woman passenger died aboard an aircraft after she suffered cardiac arrest while on way to Chennai, on Friday .The passenger, N. Nazaruddin Nisha, was flying from Kolkata to Chennai, when she complained of chest pain. Following this, the pilot alerted the Chennai air control and made an emergency landing at the Chennai airport.Sources said the woman and her husband Nausak Ansari (47), a businessman, were heading to Chennai for medical check.

Airport sources said Nisha complained of chest pain and suffered a cardiac arrest mid-air. On landing, she was motionless in her seat. Attempts by airport staff to wake her up were futile, and they informed the airport manager who summoned the medical emergency team. After a check, the team said the woman had died due to cardiac arrest.
