24x7 chest pain clinic launched

Gleneagles Global Health City on Monday launched a 24x7 chest pain clinic and primary angioplasty support group.
According to a press release, the chest pain clinic will have dedicated interventional cardiologists working round-the-clock to provide treatment for all kinds of cardiac emergencies. All cardiac services will be available under one roof. Basic tests at the time of chest pain such as ECG, echocardiography screening and cardiac enzymes test will be done at the centre. It will also provide information on prevention of chest pain.
Survivors of heart diseases will run the primary angioplasty support group.
Actor Dhanush inaugurated the centre. K. Ravindranath, chairman, Gleneagles Global Hospitals, said there was a steady increase in the number of persons, especially young adults, suffering from cardiovascular diseases in the last few decades.
Sandeep Attawar, programme director and chair-Heart and Lung Transplant and Cardiac Sciences, was present.
