Four engg students arrested for ragging

Mangaluru city police have arrested four engineering students for allegedly ragging a first-year student of a private college at Mukka in Surathkal.
The accused are KU Shamil, 22, Mohammed Bazil, 22, Ashwith S Johnson, 21, and Sambhram Alva, 20. According to police, college dean Thomas Pinto lodged a complaint that Karthik Shetty, a first-year engineering student, was allegedly ragged by four students from the third year. All four have been suspended from the college and booked under the Karnataka Education Act
(116). Another college faculty member has also complained against KU Shamil, Mohammed Bazil and Sambhram Alva of assaulting and threatening him. TNN
