Two staff of Tirupur knitwear unit die in Delhi hotel blaze

Two employees of a knitwear export company in Tirupur were among 17 people killed in a fire at a private hotel in New Delhi on Tuesday. Some of family members and relatives of the deceased have reached the national capital to receive the mortal remains.

The two deceased have been identified as S Aravind, 45, of Rakkiyampalayam near Thirumuruganpoondi in Tirupur district and K Nanda Kumar, 32, of Somanur in Coimbatore district. Both they were working as merchandisers in one of many knitwear manufacturing unit of a leading export company near New Bus stand here. The two men had gone Delhi to meet a buyer, said a manager of the unit on his anonymity.

After the meeting, the two men were staying in a private hotel at Karol Bagh. They were to catch a flight to Tamil Nadu on Tuesday morning. But the duo were killed after a fire broke out at the hotel in the early hours on Tuesday.
