New train from Rameswaram to Ajmer

The Southern Railway has introduced a new Humsafar weekly express train between Rameswaram and Ajmer and set to launch the first service from Rameswaram on October 2 and from Ajmer on October 6.

Train No.19604 Rameswaram – Ajmer Express would leave Rameswaram at 10.15 p.m. on Tuesdays and arrive Ajmer at 11.25 p.m. on Thursdays. In the return direction, Train No.19603 Ajmer – Rameswaram Express would leave Ajmer at 9.40 p.m. on Saturdays and arrive Rameswaram at 03.15 a.m. on Tuesdays.

The composition of the train would be 16 AC 3-tier coaches. It would have stoppages at Manamadurai, Tiruchi, Ariyalur, Villupuram, Chengalpattu, Chennai Egmore, Gudur, Nellore, Vijayawada, Warangal, Ballarshah, Chandrapur, Sewagram, Nagpur, Betul, Itarsi, Bhopal, Santhirdaranagar, Maksi, Dewas, Lakshmibai Nagar, Fatehabad Chandrawatiganj, Ratlam, Mandsor, Nimach, Chittaurgarh, Chanderia and Bhilwara.

Welcoming the new train, Karaikudi Chamber of Commerce president Samy Dravidamani demanded stoppage of the train at Karaikudi junction. As the train would be very useful to general public and traders, the railway authorities should provide stoppage at Karaikudi junction. The train also did not have stoppages in Ramanathapuram, Paramakudi and Sivaganga, he pointed out.
