Bharat Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) College of Engineering, Pune has over the years steadily built a reputation amongst the students. The institute regularly engages the students in various activities over the years enabling them to hone, upgrade and imbibe skill pertinent from the industry perspective. The professional Skill Development (PSD) course, which is integrated into the curriculum and the 100 hours Employment Enhancement Programme (EEP) addresses the employability issue, whereby it helps students to strengthen their communication skills, quantitative analysis, soft skills, IT training and also learn about the corporate culture.
In the “Saturday @ BV” program students interact with entrepreneurs and senior corporate professionals who share their experiences and insights of professional industry environment. The 45 days Inplant Training integrated in the curriculum helps students to directly interact with the industry to get real time experience and exposure of the working environment. In this regard, the institute has lesioned with more than 400 industries spanning different disciplines. This meaningful industry interaction has also resulted in getting industry sponsored projects and training for the students.
The pedagogy effect of these activities over the years have lead the institute in having regular high percentage of placements for its student in reputed and professional companies such as TCS, Zensar, L&T Infotech, Tech Mahindra, Amazon.in, Mercedes Benz, Honda, CEAT, Berger paints,Tata Elaxi etc.
Programmes of the institute are accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) consecutively three times (2005, 2012, and 2017). In the AICTCII survey based on the linkage with the industry all programs are categorised under the gold category. The institute has also accredited to grade A+ by NAAC in its third cycle as a constituent unit of BVDU, Pune.
As a result of all these, the institute has been ranked among top 100 engineering colleges of India consecutively for three years. This year along with 83rd National Ranking institute got 2nd ranking in outreach and inclusivity parameter. A leading IT magazine gave 3rd ranking in 2016 among private institutes, Times Engineering gave 33rd in 2017 and a popular publication 43 ranking to the institute in their surveys conducted.
Recognising the consistent overall performance and potential of the institute, world’s leading IT Company TCS through its Academic Interface Program (AIP) has associated itself with the institute to start an industry oriented B.Tech (Computer Science and Business System) aiming toward producing highly skilled and employable engineers.
