Ex-chief secy son injured as car collides with truck

Former chief secretary of Tamil Nadu, P Rama Mohan Rao’s son and his two friends suffered severe injuries after a car in which they were travelling collided head-on with a tipper truck at Samberi in Salem district on Sunday afternoon.
Police identified the injured as Vivek, 36, the former bureaucrat’s son, his friends Arun Anbalagan and Rajesh, all from Chennai. Another friend Jagadeesh escaped with minor injuries.
“Vivek and his friends, who are all IT professionals, were returning to Chennai from Pollachi. When their car neared Samberi, the driver lost control of the vehicle and rammed into a tipper truck coming in the opposite direction,” a police officer attached with Thalaivasal station said. “The front portion of the car was completely mangled. Jagadeesh, with the help of passing motorists, took the injured to the Salem government hospital.”
Jagadeesh said his friends were stable. The Thalaivasal police have registered a case and further investigation is on.
