Sastra University provides annadhanam

The Sastra University provided annadhanam here on Sunday for the benefit of more than 15,000 devotees on padayatra to Sri Vaitheeswaran Koil.

A special pandal was erected in front of the Sastra University, Kumbakonam campus, where food packets - each comprising a laddu, tamarind rice, curd rice, butter milk, water packet and medicine for foot burns - were distributed to the devotees by a team headed by Vice Chancellor R. Sethuraman.

Every year devotees from various parts of Thanjavur, Sivaganga and Pudukkottai districts proceed to Sri Vaitheeswaran Koil just after the Tamil New Year’s Day as part of annual ritual.
