Temperature soars in Vellore


There seems to be no respite from the scorching sun for residents of the Fort City. On Sunday, the city recorded a temperature of 44.1 degree Celsius, the highest temperature recorded so far this month.
According to data available on the website of the Regional Meteorological Centre, Chennai, the highest temperature recorded in Vellore during April since 2007 is 43.7 degree Celsius (April 25, 2016). The all time record was 44.9 degree Celsius on April 29, 2000. In the last two days, the temperature stood at 42 degree Celsius (April 21) and 42.5 degree Celsius (April 22), according to Meteorological Office, Vellore.
