First round of PG medical counselling completed

The first round of counselling for postgraduate medical courses ended on Tuesday with 179 of the 753 candidates who attended the counselling being allotted seats in government medical colleges. As many as 50 candidates were allotted seats in self-financing medical colleges. A total of 524 candidates have opted to be wait-listed.
Of the 1,262 candidates called for counselling, 138 had been allotted seats under the all-India quota. Only 753 attended, according to the Tamil Nadu Medical Education Selection Committee.
Counselling for PG dental programmes will be held on Thursday. The first session will be held at 2 p.m. and the second session at 4 p.m.
