Ex-VC of law varsity seeks advance bail

Chennai: Former vice-chancellor of Tamil Nadu Dr Ambedkar Law University P Vanangamudi has approached the Madras high court for anticipatory bail, apprehending arrest in a vigilance case registered against him for bribery to the tune of Rs 30 lakh.
The case is likely to be heard by the high court on Monday. Vanangamudi said he had been fixed in the case by his rivals with an ulterior motive. The entire complaint was based on fabled fact and the same was concocted to the core, he said, adding that the complaint had been lodged only to harass him. TNN
