Nalini Sriharan, one of the life convicts in the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, contributed Rs. 1,000 to the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund to aid relief efforts in the wake of Cyclone Gaja.
Her advocate, P. Pugalenthi, said the money came from her prisoner cash property account — an account created for inmates to deposit the wages they earn by working in the prison, and managed by the prison authorities.
