240 health science students graduate from St John's

The St John's Medical College held its convocation ceremony on Saturday, during which 240 health professionals graduated.
The successful candidates included 61 MBBS students, 69 postgraduates, 13 PG diploma holders, 18 super speciality students, 9 PhD scholars, 17 from the Master of Health Administration programme, 31 BSc graduates, and 22 MSc graduates of the Allied Health Sciences.
Supreme Court judge Justice Kurian Joseph was the chief guest at the event.
Presiding over the function, Rev George Antonysamy, chairman of the governing board, St John's National Academy of Health Sciences, urged the students to follow the motto of the institution: "He shall live because of me".
He reminded doctors that knowledge should translate into wisdom, and wisdom should be applied to the patients' well-being.
Rev Antonysamy also urged the parents of the graduating health care professionals to allow them time and space to bloom so that they are productive in their families and the society.
Of the graduating students, 40 have opted for rural service this year.
