Hyderabad: Health ministry increases seats in MED colleges

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has granted permission for increasing the number of seats in various MD/MS courses in various medical colleges of the country.
Hyderabad: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has granted permission for increasing the number of seats in various MD/MS courses in various medical colleges of the country. The Health ministry has approved 165 MD/MS seats in 19 Medical Colleges, among which Kaloji Narayana Health University is expected to get around 20 seats in Gandhi Medical College and Osmania Medical College.
Dr B.Karunakar Reddy, Vice-Chancellor, Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences said that the government is aiming to increase the PG seats and has suggested to the colleges to propose to increase the number of PG seats as per their eligibility. The government is also providing the budget for increasing the seats. “We have got 20 PG seats for Osmania Medical College, Kakatiya Medical college and Gandhi Medical college under our university,” he said. even though we have proposed for 34 more seats,” he said.
