Girl calls teachers ‘unpatriotic’, is expelled

Bhopal: A second-year student of Motilal Science College in Bhopal was rusticated for calling her teachers ‘unpatriotic’ in a Facebook post. Scores of her collegemates have united in protest and demand mass expulsion. The expelled student, Asma Khan, owes allegiance to Bhagat Kranti Dal. College principal Rakesh Agnihotri justified her expulsion by saying she has not apologised.

The controversy began when BKD and ABVP vied for permission to observe the death anniversary of Bhagat Singh in the college auditorium. “We suggested that they do it jointly or at some other place. BKD students started a hunger strike. We informed the local administration and the strike was called off after their intervention. During the same time, Asma shared a post on Facebook. I cannot recall verbatim what it said, but she called all the teachers unpatriotic,” said the principal. TNN
